اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي امْسَيْتُ لَكَ عَبْداً دَاخِراً

all¡humma inn¢ amsaytu laka `abdan d¡khiran

O Allah, surely I am at this evening Your passive slave;

لاَ امْلِكُ لِنَفْسِي نَفْعاً وَلاَ ضَرّاً

l¡ amliku linafs¢ naf`an wa l¡ ¤arran

I have no control of hurt or good to myself

وَلاَ اصْرِفُ عَنْهَا سُوءً

wa l¡ a¥rifu `anh¡ s£'an

and I cannot drive back any evil from myself.

اشْهَدُ بِذٰلِكَ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِي

ashhadu bidh¡lika `al¡ nafs¢

I testify to this against myself.

وَاعْتَرِفُ لَكَ بِضَعْفِ قُوَّتِي

wa a`tarifu laka bi¤a`fi quwwat¢

To You do I confess of my powerlessness

وَقِلَّةِ حِيلَتِي

wa qillati ¦¢lat¢

and my feebleness.

فَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

fa¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

So, (please do) send blessings to Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

وَانْجِزْ لِي مَا وَعَدْتَنِي

wa anjiz l¢ m¡ wa`adtan¢

and fulfill what You have promised me,

وَجَمِيعَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَاتِ

wa jam¢`a almu'min¢na walmu'min¡ti

as well as all the believing men and women;

مِنَ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ فِي هٰذِهِ ٱللَّيْلَةِ

min almaghfirati f¢ h¡dhih¢ allaylati

that is Your forgiveness at this night,

وَاتْمِمْ عَلَيَّ مَا آتَيْتَنِي

wa atmim `alayya m¡ ¡taytan¢

and accomplish that which You have conferred upon me,

فَإِنِّي عَبْدُكَ ٱلْمِسكِينُ ٱلْمُسْتَكِينُ

fa'inn¢ `abduka almisk¢nu almustak¢nu

for I am Your slave—the poor, the humble,

ٱلضَّعِيفُ ٱلْفَقِيرُ ٱلْمَهِينُ

al¤¤a`¢fu alfaq¢ru almah¢nu

the weak, the needy, and the humiliated.

اللَّهُمَّ لاَ تَجْعَلْنِي نَاسِياً لِذِكْرِكَ فِيمَا اوْلَيْتَنِي

all¡humma l¡ taj`aln¢ n¡siyan lidhikrika f¢m¡ awlaytan¢

O Allah, (please) do not make me negligent of the mention of You as regards that which You have bestowed upon me,

وَلاَ غَافِلاً لإِحْسَانِكَ فِيمَا اعْطَيْتَنِي

wa l¡ gh¡filan li'i¦s¡nika f¢m¡ a`§aytan¢

do not make me inadvertent to Your favors to me as regards that which You have given me,

وَلاَ آيِساً مِنْ إِجَابَتِكَ وَإِنْ اَبْطَاتْ عَنِّي

wa l¡ ¡yisan min ij¡batika wa in ab§a'at `ann¢

do not make me despair of Your responding to me, even if such response is postponed,

فِي سَرَّاءَ اوْ ضَرَّاءَ

f¢ sarr¡'a aw ¤arr¡'a

whether I be in prosperity, adversity,

اوْ شِدَّةٍ اوْ رَخَاءٍ

aw shiddatin aw rakh¡'in

hardship, comfort,

اوْ عَافِيَةٍ اوْ بَلاءٍ

aw `¡fiyatin aw bal¡'in

wellbeing, ordeal,

اوْ بُؤْسٍ اوْ نَعْمَاءَ

aw bu'sin aw na`m¡'a

misery, or bliss.

إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَاءِ

innaka sam¢`u alddu`¡'i

Verily, You are the Hearer of prayers.
