Duas for Moon-Sighting on the 1st Night of Month of Ramadan

Recite Dua 44 from Sahifa Sajjadiya to welcome the Holy month of Ramadan

It is highly recommended to visit the holy tomb of Imam al-Husayn (peace be upon him) so that the sins will be forgiven and the like of the reward of those who undertake the Hajj and the `Umrah in that year will be recorded for him.

Take a Ghusl on the 1st Night of the Month of Ramadan.

It is highly advisable to recite the Holy Qur'an very frequently at the first hours of the Month of Ramadhan.Imam Sadiq (as) used to recite this Dua before /after reciting quran

Offer a Four Rak`ah prayer reciting in each Rak`ah Surah of al-Fatihah and Surah Tawheed 15 times

Offer a two Rak`ah prayer reciting in each Rak`ah Surah of al-Fatihah and Surah of al-An`am (No. 6) and pray to Almighty Allah for security against ailments

Recite 'All Nights of Ramadhan month' Duas including recite this Two Rak`ah prayer for all nights

Reciting Jawshan Kabir tonight has great rewards.

Yaman Yamleko dua after Maghrib Salaah
After the Maghrib Prayer raise your hands and recite this supplication, as reported in ‘al-Iqbal’ from Imam Muhammad Jawad al-Taqi (peace be upon him):

اللَّهُمَّ يَا مَنْ يَمْلِكُ ٱلتَّدْبِيرَ

allahumma ya man yamliku alttadbira

O Allah Who controls the management of all affairs

وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

wa huwa `ala kulli shay'in qadirun

and He has power over all things!

يَا مَنْ يَعْلَمُ خَائِنَةَ ٱلأَعْيُنِ

ya man ya`lamu kha'inata al-a`yuni

O He Who knows the stealth of looks,

وَمَا تُخْفِي ٱلصُّدُورُ وَتُجِنُّ ٱلضَّمِيرُ

wa ma tukhfi alssuduru wa tujinnu alddamiru

that which breasts conceal, and that which selves hide

وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِيفُ ٱلْخَبِيرُ

wa huwa allatifu alkhabiru

and He is the Knower of subtle, the Aware!

اللَّهُمَّ ٱجْعَلْنَا مِمَّنْ نَوَىٰ فَعَمِلَ

allahumma ij`alna mimman nawa fa`amila

O Allah, (please do) include us with those who intend and carried out their intentions,

وَلاَ تَجْعَلْنَا مِمَّنْ شَقِيَ فَكَسِلَ

wa la taj`alna mimman shaqiya fakasila

and do not include us with those who are unhappy due to their laziness

وَلاَ مِمَّنْ هُوَ عَلَىٰ غَيْرِ عَمَلٍ يَتَّكِلُ

wa la mimman huwa `ala ghayri `amalin yattakilu

or with those who depend upon unreal hopes.

اللَّهُمَّ صَحِّحْ أَبْدَانَنَا مِنَ ٱلْعِلَلِ

allahumma sahhih abdanana min al`ilali

O Allah, (please do) cure our bodies from ailments

وَأَعِنَّا عَلَىٰ مَا ٱفْتَرَضْتَ عَلَيْنَا مِنَ ٱلْعَمَلِ

wa a`inna `ala ma iftaradta `alayna min al`amali

and help us carry out the deeds You have made incumbent upon us to do

حَتَّىٰ يَنْقَضِيَ عَنَّا شَهْرُكَ هٰذَا وَقَدْ أَدَّيْنَا مَفْرُوضَكَ فِيهِ عَلَيْنَا

hatta yanqadiya `anna shahruka hadha wa qad addayna mafrudaka fihi `alayna

so that when this month, which is Your month, elapses, we shall have carried out all the duties that You have made obligatory upon us to do.

اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنَّا عَلَىٰ صِيَامِهِ

allahumma a`inna `ala siyamihi

O Allah, (please do) help us observe fasting in this month,

وَوَفِّقْنَا لِقِيَامِهِ

wa waffiqna liqiyamihi

guide us to practice the acts of worship (perfectly),

وَنَشِّطْنَا فِيهِ لِلصَّلاةِ

wa nashshitna fihi lilssalati

grant us vigor to offer prayers,

وَلاَ تَحْجُبْنَا مِنَ ٱلْقِرَاءَةِ

wa la tahjubna min alqira'ati

do not preclude us from reciting (the Holy Qur'an),

وَسَهِّلْ لَنَا فِيهِ إِيتَاءَ ٱلزَّكَاةِ

wa sahhil lana fihi ita'a alzzakati

and make easy for us to give alms.

اللَّهُمَّ لاَ تُسَلِّطْ عَلَيْنَا وَصَباً وَلاَ تَعَباً

allahumma la tusallit `alayna wasaban wa la ta`aban

O Allah, (please) do not inflict us with fatigue, tiredness,

وَلاَ سَقَماً وَلاَ عَطَباً

wa la saqaman wa la `ataban

ailment, or injury.

اللَّهُمَّ ٱرْزُقْنَا ٱلإِفْطَارَ مِنْ رِزْقِكَ ٱلْحَلاَلِ

allahumma urzuqna al-iftara min rizqika alhalali

O Allah, (please do) grant us the food with which we break our fasting from Your sustenance that is legally gotten.

اللَّهُمَّ سَهِّلْ لَنَا فِيهِ مَا قَسَمْتَهُ مِنْ رِزْقِكَ

allahumma sahhil lana fihi ma qasamtahu min rizqika

O Allah, (please do) make easy for us the gaining of Your sustenance that You decide for us,

وَيَسِّرْ مَا قَدَّرْتَهُ مِنْ أَمْرِكَ

wa yassir ma qaddartahu min amrika

facilitate for us gaining that which You decide for us,

وَٱجْعَلْهُ حَلاَلاً طَيِّباً نَقِيّاً مِنَ ٱلآثَامِ

waj`alhu halalan tayyiban naqiyyan min al-athami

and make it pure, empty of sins,

خَالِصاً مِنَ ٱلآصَارِ وَٱلأَجْرَامِ

khalisan min al-asari wal-ajrami

and free from offenses and flaws.

اللَّهُمَّ لاَ تُطْعِمْنَا إِلاَّ طَيِّباً غَيْرَ خَبِيثٍ وَلاَ حَرَامٍ

allahumma la tut`imna illa tayyiban ghayra khabithin wa la haramin

O Allah, (please) do not feed us except the good that is neither bad nor forbidden.

وَٱجْعَلْ رِزْقَكَ لَنَا حَلاَلاً لاَ يَشُوبُهُ دَنَسٌ وَلاَ أَسْقَامٌ

waj`al rizqaka lana halalan la yashubuhu danasun wa la asqamun

(Please do) let the sustenance that You decide for us be legal, carrying neither filth nor diseases.

يَا مَنْ عِلْمُهُ بِٱلسِّرِّ كَعِلْمِهِ بِٱلإِعْلاَنِ

ya man `ilmuhu bilssirri ka`ilmihi bil-i`lani

O He Who knows the secret in the same was as He knows the public!

يَا مُتَفَضِّلاً عَلَىٰ عِبَادِهِ بِٱلإِحْسَانِ

ya mutafaddilan `ala `ibadihi bil-ihsani

O He Who confers upon His servants with benevolence!

يَا مَنْ هُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

ya man huwa `ala kulli shay'in qadirun

O He Who has power over all things

وَبِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ

wa bikulli shay'in `alimun khabirun

and has acquaintance with all things!

أَلْهِمْنَا ذِكْرَكَ

alhimna dhikraka

(Please do) bestow upon us with (ceaseless) reference to You,

وَجَنِّبْنَا عُسْرَكَ

wa jannibna `usraka

keep us away Your difficulty,

وَأَنِلْنَا يُسْرَكَ

wa anilna yusraka

make us obtain Your ease,

وَٱهْدِنَا لِلرَّشَادِ

wahdina lilrrashadi

guide us to the right path,

وَوَفِّقْنَا لِلسَّدَادِ

wa waffiqna lilssadadi

lead us to righteousness,

وَٱعْصِمْنَا مِنَ ٱلبَلاَيَا

wa`simna min albalaya

protect us against misfortunes,

وَصُنَّا مِنَ ٱلأَوْزَارِ وَٱلخَطَايَا

wa sunna min al-awzari walkhataya

and safeguard us against sins and faults.

يَا مَنْ لاَ يَغْفِرُ عَظِيمَ ٱلذُّنُوبِ غَيْرُهُ

ya man la yaghfiru `azima aldhdhunubi ghayruhu

O He save Whom none forgives the grave sins

وَلاَ يَكْشِفُ ٱلسُّوءَ إِلاَّ هُوَ

wa la yakshifu alssu'a illa huwa

and none can relieve from hardships!

يَا أَرْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ

ya arhama alrrahimina

O most Merciful of all those who show mercy

وَأَكْرَمَ ٱلأَكْرَمِينَ

wa akrama al-akramina

and most Generous of all those who show generosity!

صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ ٱلطَّيِّبِينَ

salli `ala muhammadin wa ahli baytihi alttayyibina

(Please do) send blessings to Muhammad and his Household the pure

وَٱجْعَلْ صِيَامَنَا مَقْبُولاً

waj`al siyamana maqbulan

and decide our fasting to be acceptable

وَبِٱلْبِرِّ وَٱلتَّقْوَىٰ مَوْصُولاً

wa bilbirri walttaqwa mawsulan

and connected to piety and godliness.

وَكَذٰلِكَ فَٱجْعَلْ سَعْيَنَا مَشْكُوراً

wa kadhalika faj`al sa`yana mashkuran

Similarly, (please do) decide our efforts to be praiseworthy,

وَقِيَامَنَا مَبْرُوراً

wa qiyamana mabruran

our acts of worship admissible,

وَقُرْآنَنَا مَرْفُوعاً

wa qur'anana marfu`an

our reciting of the Qur'an raised (to the heavens),

وَدُعَاءَنَا مَسْمُوعاً

wa du`a'ana masmu`an

and our supplications responded.

وَٱهْدِنَا لِلْحُسْنَىٰ

wahdina lilhusna

(Please do) guide us to the most excellent way,

وَجَنِّبْنَا ٱلْعُسْرَىٰ

wa jannibna al`usra

save us from difficulties,

وَيَسِّرْنَا لِلْيُسْرَىٰ

wa yassirna lilyusra

facilitate for us the easy end,

وَأَعْلِ لَنَا ٱلدَّرَجَاتِ

wa a`li lana alddarajati

elevate our ranks,

وَضَاعِفْ لَنَا ٱلْحَسَنَاتِ

wa da`if lana alhasanati

double the rewards for our good deeds,

وَٱقْبَلْ مِنَّا ٱلصَّوْمَ وَٱلصَّلاَةَ

waqbal minna alssawma walssalata

accept our fasting and prayers,

وَٱسْمَعْ مِنَّا ٱلدَّعَوَاتِ

wasma` minna aldda`awati

react to our supplications,

وَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ٱلْخَطِيئَاتِ

waghfir lana alkhati'ati

forgive our sins,

وَتَجَاوَزْ عَنَّا ٱلسَّيِّئَاتِ

wa tajawaz `anna alssayyi'ati

overlook our wrongdoings,

وَٱجْعَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْعَامِلِينَ ٱلْفَائِزِينَ

waj`alna min al`amilina alfa'izina

make us of the successful worshippers,

وَلاَ تَجْعَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ ٱلضَّالِّينَ

wa la taj`alna min almaghdubi `alayhim wa la alddallina

and do not include us with those who earn Your anger nor of those who go astray

حَتَّىٰ يَنْقَضِيَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ عَنَّا

hatta yanqadiya shahru ramadana `anna

so that when the month of Ramadan elapses,

وَقَدْ قَبِلْتَ فِيهِ صِيَامَنَا وَقِيَامَنَا

wa qad qabilta fihi siyamana wa qiyamana

You shall have accepted our fasting and acts of worship,

وَزَكَّيْتَ فِيهِ أَعْمَالَنَا

wa zakkayta fihi a`malana

blessed our deeds,

وَغَفَرْتَ فِيهِ ذُنُوبَنَا

wa ghafarta fihi dhunubana

forgiven our sins,

وَأَجْزَلْتَ فِيهِ مِنْ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ نَصِيبَنَا

wa ajzalta fihi min kulli khayrin nasibana

and doubled our shares from all good things.

فَإِنَّكَ الإِلٰهُ ٱلْمُجِيبُ

fa'innaka al-ilahu almujibu

Verily, You are the God Who responds,

وَٱلرَّبُّ ٱلْقَرِيبُ

walrrabbu alqaribu

the Lord Who is Nigh,

وَأَنْتَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ مُحِيطٌ

wa anta bikulli shay'in muhitun

and You encompass all things.

Allahumma Rabba Shahr Ramadan
It is recommended to say the following prayer that is reported from Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) as is mentioned in the book of al-Iqbal:

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ

allahumma rabba shahri ramadana

O Allah, the Lord of the month of Ramadan

مُنَزِّلَ ٱلْقُرْآنِ

munazzila alqur'ani

and the Revealer of the Qur'an.

هٰذَا شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ

hadha shahru ramadana

This is the month of Ramadan

ٱلَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ فِيهِ ٱلْقُرْآنَ

alladhi anzalta fihi alqur'ana

in which You revealed the Qur'an

وَأَنْزَلْتَ فِيهِ آيَاتٍ بَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَٱلْفُرْقَانِ

wa anzalta fihi ayatin bayyinatin min alhuda walfurqani

and revealed therein chapters of true guidance and distinction (between the right and the wrong).

اللَّهُمَّ ٱرْزُقْنَا صِيَامَهُ

allahumma urzuqna siyamahu

O Allah, make us observe fast in its days

وَأَعِنَّا عَلَىٰ قِيَامِهِ

wa a`inna `ala qiyamihi

and remain awake in its nights to pray.

اللَّهُمَّ سَلِّمْهُ لَنَا

allahumma sallimhu lana

O Allah, let it be peaceful for us,

وَسَلِّمْنَا فِيهِ

wa sallimna fihi

keep us in sound condition for it,

وَتَسَلَّمْهُ مِنَّا فِي يُسْرٍ مِنْكَ وَمُعَافَاةٍ

wa tasallamhu minna fi yusrin minka wa mu`afatin

and receive it from us with easiness and wellbeing.

وَٱجْعَلْ فِي مَا تَقْضِي وَتُقَدِّرُ

waj`al fima taqdi wa tuqaddiru

While taking decisions

مِنَ ٱلأَمْرِ ٱلْمَحْتُومِ

min al-amri almahtumi

from among Your inevitable decisions

وَفِيمَا تَفْرُقُ مِنَ ٱلأَمْرِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ

wa fima tafruqu min al-amri alhakimi

and from among that which You decide from the wise affairs

فِي لَيْلَةِ ٱلْقَدْرِ

fi laylati alqadri

at the Destiny Night

مِنَ ٱلْقَضَاءِ ٱلَّذِي لاَ يُرَدُّ وَلاَ يُبَدَّلُ

min alqada'i alladhi la yuraddu wa la yubaddalu

from the act that is neither rejected nor altered,

أَنْ تَكْتُبَنِي مِنْ حُجَّاجِ بَيْتِكَ ٱلْحَرَامِ

an taktubani min hujjaji baytika alharami

(please) write my name in the list of those pilgrims to Your Sacred House

ٱلْمَبْرُورِ حَجُّهُمُ

almabruri hajjuhum

whose pilgrimage receives Your approval,

ٱلْمَشْكُورِ سَعْيُهُمُ

almashkuri sa`yuhum

whose efforts are appreciated,

ٱلْمَغْفُورِ ذُنُوبُهُمُ

almaghfuri dhunubuhum

whose sins are forgiven,

ٱلْمُكَفَّرِ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُهُمْ

almukaffari `anhum sayyi'atuhum

and whose wrongdoings are overlooked.

وَٱجْعَلْ فِي مَا تَقْضِي وَتُقَدِّرُ

waj`al fima taqdi wa tuqaddiru

While making decisions and rendering possible things and events,

أَنْ تُطِيلَ لِي فِي عُمْرِي

an tutila li fi `umri

(please) grant me long lifetime

وَتُوَسِّعَ عَلَيَّ مِنَ ٱلرِّزْقِ ٱلْحَلاَلِ

wa tuwassi`a `alayya min alrrizqi alhalali

and my sustenance, making it from legal sources only.

Allahumma Inna Hadha Shahr
It is recommended to say the following supplication that is mentioned by Sayyid Ibn Tawus in Iqbal al-A`mal:

اَللّهُمَّ إنَّ هِذا شَهْرُ رَمَضانَ

alllahumma inna hadha shahru ramadhana

O Allah: This month of Ramadhan,

اَلَّذي أنْزَلْتَ فِيهِ الْقُرْآنَ،

alladhy anzalta fihi alqur’ana,

in which You revealed the Qur'an,

هُدىً لِلنّاسِ وَبَيِّناتٍ مِنَ الْهُدى وَالْفُرْقَانِ

hudan lilnnasi wabayyinatin mina alhudi walfurqani

As guidance for people and clear proofs of true guidance and distinction (between the right and the wrong),

قَدْ حَضَرَ.

qad hadhara.

Has commenced.

يا رَبِّ أعوذُ بِكَ فيهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطانِ الرَّجيمِ،

ya rabbi a`udhu bika fihi mina alshshaytani alrrajimi,

O Allah: in this month, I seek Your protection against Satan, the accursed,

وَمِنْ مَكْرِهِ وَحِيَلِهِ،

wamin makrihi wahialihi,

And against his tricks and his ruses,

وَخِداعِهِ وَحَبائِلِهِ،

wakhida`ihi wahabaiilihi,

And his deception and his trickeries,

وَجُنودِهِ وَخَيلِهِ،

wajunudihi wakhaylihi,

And his parties and his riding forces,

وَرِجْلِهِ وَوَساوِسِهِ،

warijlihi wawasauisihi,

And his on foot forces and his evil inspirations,

وَمِنَ الضَّلالِ بَعْدَ الْهُدى،

wamina aldhdhalali ba`da alhudi,

And against straying off after being guided,

وَمِنَ الكُفْرِ بَعْدَ الإيمانِ،

wamina alkufri ba`da alimani,

And against atheism after belief,

وَمِنَ النِّفاقِ وَالرِّياءِ وَالجِناياتِ،

wamina alnnifaqi waalrria‘i waaljinaiati,

And against hypocrisy and showing off and felonies,

وَمِنْ شَرِّ الوِسْواسِ الخَنّاسِ،

wamin sharri aluisuasi alkhannasi,

And against the evil of the whisperings of the slinking Devil,

الَّذي يُوَسْوِسُ في صُدورِ النّاسِ،

alladhy yuwasuisu fy suduri alnnasi,

Who whispers into the hearts of men;

مِنَ الجِنَّةِ وَالنّاسِ.

mina aljinnati waalnnasi.

From among the jinn and the men.

اللّهُمَّ وَارْزُقْني صِيامَهُ وَقِيامَهُ،

alllhumma waarzuqny siamahu waqiamahu,

O Allah: and confer upon me with the fasting and the doing of acts of worship during this month,

وَالعَمَلَ فيهِ بِطاعَتِكَ،

waal`amala fihi bita`atika,

And with the doing of acts of obedience to You,

وَطاعَةِ رَسولِكَ وَأُولي الأمْرِ،

wata`ati rasulika wa-uly alamri,

And to Your Messenger and the Men in Authority,

عَلَيهِ وَعَلَيهِمُ السَّلامُ،

`alayhi wa`alayhimu alssalamu,

May peace be upon him and them,

وَما قَرَّبَ مِنْكَ،

wama qarraba minka,

And the doing of whatever act that takes me near You,

وَجَنِّبْني مَعاصِيكَ،

wajannibny ma`asika,

And (please) take me away from acts of disobedience to You.

وَارْزُقْني فيهِ التَّوْبَةَ وَالإنابَةَ وَالإجابَةَ.

warzuqny fihi alttawbata walinabata wal-ijabata.

And confer upon me in this month with repentance, turning to You, and responding to Your instructions.

وَأعِذْني فيهِ مِنَ الغيبَةِ وَالكَسَلِ وَالفَشَلِ،

wa'a`idhny fihi mina alghibaati waalkasali waalfashali,

And protect me in it against backbiting and lethargy and failure.

وَاسْتَجِبْ لي فيهِ الدُّعاءَ،

waastajib ly fihi alddu`a‘a,

And respond my prayers in it.

وَأصِحَّ لي فيهِ جِسمي وَعَقْلي

waasihha ly fihi jismy wa`aqli

And grant me well-being for my body and my intellect.

وَفَرِّغْني فيهِ لِطاعَتِكَ وَما قَرَّبَ مِنكَ،

wafarrighny fihi lita`atika wama qarraba minka,

And grant me time to do acts of obedience to You as well as acts that take me near You.

يا كَريمُ يا جَوادُ.

ya karimu ya jawadu.

O the All-generous; O the All-magnanimous.

يا كَريمُ،

ya karimu,

O the All-generous:

صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلى أهْلِ بَيْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ

salli `ali muhammadin wa`ali ahli bayti muhammadin

(please) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

عَلَيهِ وَعَلَيهِمُ السَّلامُ،

`alayhi wa`alayhimu alssalamu,

Peace be upon him and them,

وَكَذالِكَ فَافْعَلْ بِنا

wakadhalika faf`al bina

And do all that to us,

يا أرْحَمَ الرّاحِمينَ.

ya arhama alrrahimina.

O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

Allahumma Innahu Qad Dakhala
According to a Hadith, the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) used to say this supplication at the beginning of Ramadan:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّهُ قَدْ دَخَلَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ

allahumma innahu qad dakhala shahru ramadana

O Allah, the month of Ramadan has begun.

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ

allahumma rabba shahri ramadana

O Allah, the Lord of the month of Ramadan

ٱلَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ فِيهِ ٱلْقُرْآنَ

alladhi anzalta fihi alqur'ana

in which You have revealed the Qur'an

وَجَعَلْتَهُ بَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَٱلْفُرْقَانِ

wa ja`altahu bayyinatin min alhuda walfurqani

making it guidance to people and clear proofs of the guidance and the distinction.

اللَّهُمَّ فَبَارِكْ لَنَا فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ

allahumma fabarik lana fi shahri ramadana

So, O Allah, please bless us in the month of Ramadan,

وَأَعِنَّا عَلَىٰ صِيَامِهِ وَصَلَوَاتِهِ

wa a`inna `ala siyamihi wa salawatihi

help us observe fasting and offer prayers in it,

وَتَقَبَّلْهُ مِنَّا

wa taqabbalhu minna

and accept from us.

Alhamdulilahil Lazee Akramna
A According to a Hadith, the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) used to say this supplication at the beginning of Ramadhan month:

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي أَكْرَمَنَا بِكَ

alhamdu lillahi alladhi akramana bika

All praise be to Allah Who has honored us with you,

أَيُّهَا ٱلشَّهْرُ ٱلْمُبَارَكُ

ayyuha alshshahru almubaraku

O blessed month.

اللَّهُمَّ فَقَوِّنَا عَلَىٰ صِيَامِنَا وَقِيَامِنَا

allahumma faqawwina `ala siyamina wa qiyamina

O Allah, (please do) grant us strength to observe fasting and practice acts of worship in this month,

وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا

wa thabbit aqdamana

make our steps firm,

وَٱنْصُرْنَا عَلَىٰ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَافِرِينَ

wansurna `ala alqawmi alkafirina

and assist us against the unbelieving people.

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ ٱلْوَاحِدُ فَلاَ وَلَدَ لَكَ

allahumma anta alwahidu fala wa lada laka

O Allah, You are surely the One; therefore, You have not son.

وَأَنْتَ ٱلصَّمَدُ فَلاَ شِبْهَ لَكَ

wa anta alssamadu fala shibha laka

You are the eternally Besought of all; therefore, nothing is like You.

وَأَنْتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ فَلاَ يُعِزُّكَ شَيْءٌ

wa anta al`azizu fala yu`izzuka shay'un

You are the Almighty; therefore, nothing can overcome You.

وَأَنْتَ ٱلْغَنِيُّ وَأَنَا ٱلْفَقِيرُ

wa anta alghaniyyu wa ana alfaqiru

You are the Self-sufficient while I am poor.

وَأَنْتَ ٱلْمَوْلَىٰ وَأَنَا ٱلْعَبْدُ

wa anta almawla wa ana al`abdu

You are the Master while I am (Your) slave.

وَأَنْتَ ٱلْغَفُورُ وَأَنَا ٱلْمُذْنِبُ

wa anta alghafuru wa ana almudhnibu

You are the All-forgiving while I am sinful.

وَأَنْتَ ٱلرَّحِيمُ وَأَنَا ٱلْمُخْطِئُ

wa anta alrrahimu wa ana almukhti'u

You are the All-merciful while I am mistaken.

وَأَنْتَ ٱلْخَالِقُ وَأَنَا ٱلْمَخْلُوقُ

wa anta alkhaliqu wa ana almakhluqu

You are the Creator while I am (Your) creature.

وَأَنْتَ ٱلْحَيُّ وَأَنَا ٱلْمَيِّتُ

wa anta alhayyu wa ana almayyitu

You are the Ever-living while I am mortal.

أَسْأَلُكَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ

as'aluka birahmatika

I thus beseech You in the name of Your mercy

أَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِي وَتَرْحَمَنِي وَتَتَجَاوَزَ عَنِّي

an taghfira li wa tarhamani wa tatajawaza `anni

to forgive me, have mercy upon me, and excuse my offenses.

إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

innaka `ala kulli shay'in qadirun

You have power over all things.

Dua Hajj
It has been narrated by Sayyid Ibn Tawus in ‘al-Iqbal’ that Imam al-sadiq (peace be upon him) used to say this supplication after the Maghrib (sunset) Prayers in Ramadan. In ‘al-Kafi’, al-Kulayni has narrated on the authority of Abu-Basir that Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) used to say the following supplication in Ramadan:

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي بِكَ وَمِنْكَ أَطْلُبُ حَاجَتِي

allahumma inni bika wa minka atlubu hajati

O Allah, from You and by You, I beseech for settling my need.

وَمَنْ طَلَبَ حَاجَةً إِلَىٰ النَّاسِ

wa man talaba hajatan ila alnnasi

If others beg people for settling their needs,

فَإِنِّي لاَ أَطْلُبُ حَاجَتِي إِلاَّ مِنْكَ

fa-inni la atlubu hajati illa minka

I ask none except You for settling my need;

وَحْدَكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ

wahdaka la sharika laka

from You alone, since You have no partner with You.

وَأَسْأَلُكَ بِفَضْلِكَ وَرِضْوَانِكَ

wa as'aluka bifadlika wa ridwanika

I thus implore You in the name of Your favor and Your pleasure,

أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ

an tusalliya `ala muhammadin wa ahli baytihi

to send blessings to Muhammad and his Household

وَأَنْ تَجْعَلَ لِي فِي عَامِي هٰذَا إِلَىٰ بَيْتِكَ ٱلْحَرَامِ سَبِيلاً

wa an taj`ala li fi `ami hadha ila baytika alharami sabilan

and to choose for me a way to Your Holy House this year:

حِجَّةً مَبْرُورَةً

hijjatan mabruratan

a pilgrimage that is admitted,

مُتَقَبَّلَةً زَاكِيةً

mutaqabbalatan zakiyatan

accepted, pure,

خَالِصَةً لَكَ

khalisatan laka

and sincerely intended for You

تَقَرُّ بِهَا عَيْنِي

taqarru biha `ayni

by which You delight me

وَتَرْفَعُ بِهَا دَرَجَتِي

wa tarfa`u biha darajati

and raise my rank with You.

وَتَرْزُقَنِي أَنْ أَغُضَّ بَصَرِي

wa tarzuqani an aghudda basari

Confer upon me with the grace of making me cast my sight down (against what is illegal for me to look at),

وَأَنْ أَحْفَظَ فَرْجِي

wa an ahfaza farji

making me act chastely,

وَأَنْ أَكُفَّ بِهَا عَنْ جَمِيعِ مَحَارِمِكَ

wa an akuffa biha `an jami`i maharimika

and making me stop committing any deed that You have deemed unlawful

حَتَّىٰ لاَ يَكُونَ شَيْءٌ آثَرَ عِنْدِي مِنْ طَاعَتِكَ وَخَشْيَتِكَ

hatta la yakuna shay`un athara `indi min ta`atika wa khashyatika

so that nothing will be more preferred in my sight than obedience to You, fear of You,

وَٱلْعَمَلِ بِمَا أَحْبَبْتَ

wal`amali bima ahbabta

doing all that which You love,

وَٱلتَّرْكِ لِمَا كَرِهْتَ وَنَهَيْتَ عَنْهُ

walttarki lima karihta wa nahayta `anhu

and avoiding all that which You have detested and warned against.

وَٱجْعَلْ ذٰلِكَ فِي يُسْرٍ وَيَسَارٍ

waj`al dhalika fi yusrin wa yasarin

(Please) make all that take place with easiness, lenience,

وَعَافِيَةٍ وَمَا أَنْعَمْتَ بِهِ عَلَيَّ

wa `afiyatin wa ma an`amta bihi `alayya

and good health as well as the grace that You have bestowed upon me.

وَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ وَفَاتِي قَتْلاً فِي سَبِيلِكَ

wa as'aluka an taj`ala wafati qatlan fi sabilika

I beseech You to cause me to die as martyr for Your sake,

تَحْتَ رَايَةِ نَبِيِّكَ مَعَ أَوْلِيَائِكَ

tahta rayati nabiyyika ma`a awliya'ika

under the pennon of Your Prophet and in the line of Your intimate servants.

وَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَقْتُلَ بِي أَعْدَاءَكَ وَأَعْدَاءَ رَسُولِكَ

wa as'aluka an taqtula bi a`da'aka wa a`da'a rasulika

I ask You to make me a means of killing Your enemies and the enemies of Your Messenger.

وَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُكْرِمَنِي بِهَوَانِ مَنْ شِئْتَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

wa as'aluka an tukrimani bihawani man shi'ta min khalqika

I ask You to honor me through humiliating any one of Your created beings that You choose,

وَلاَ تُهِنِّي بِكَرَامَةِ أَحَدٍ مِنْ أَوْلِيَائِكَ

wa la tuhinni bikaramati ahadin min awliya'ika

and not to humiliate me through honoring any of Your intimate servants.

اَللَّهُمَّ ٱجْعَلْ لِي مَعَ ٱلرَّسُولِ سَبِيلاً

allahumma ij`al li ma`a alrrasuli sabilan

O Allah, find me a way with the Messenger.

حَسْبِيَ ٱللَّهُ مَا شَاءَ ٱللَّهُ

hasbiya allahu ma sha'a allahu

Allah is Sufficient unto me! Only that which Allah wants shall take place.

Tawassul to Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them)
Another thing which a prudent wayfarer should not forget during the first night of this holy month is resorting(tawassul) to the impeccable ones (Ma'sumin)[33] in that night.
It is up to him to stretch his hand sincerely towards the threshold of those exalted saintly personalities, should present their blessed, glorious, and beautiful faces as intercessors for our unblessed and polluted (with sins), faces, thus, looking towards the Lord through their splendour and magnanimity because, it is not appropriate and desirable to look towards Him directly with a face blackened with sins, and cheeks rusted with transgressions. Instead, he should plead with them, should open his tongue full of grief and anxiety, should request them to act as intercessors for pleading his case.
It might be that their hearts would become soft with love for him, with their greatness they might accept him by acting as his intercessors as well as might request Allah (the Glorious, the Exalted), that may He accept him and bestow upon him the grace and favour so that he would become the way his Lord desires him to be. Because, Allah (the Glorious, the Exalted), being the most Compassionate and most Merciful, undoubtedly would accept the plea and intercession of those compassionate and exalted personalities, especially, those Sinless noble ones, to whom He himself has taught generosity and compassion as well as has allowed them to act as intercessors.
Yes! By resorting sincerely, truly and honestly to these noble exalted personalities one may attain such gains, prosperity, and salvation which can't even be attained through engaging in worship for one complete year. Therefore, it is up to us to make our best endeavours, by treating the time as our best available opportunity; we should extend our hands towards their threshold; by offering salutations and thanks should open our tongues for needs, and saying the following sincerely and honestly:

أَنْتَ يَا سَيِّدِي فِي هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ حَامِي الأُمَّةِ وَخَفِيرُهُمْ ،.

anta yā sayyidī fī hadhihi l-laylati ḥāmi l-ummati wa khafīruhum ,.

O' my masters! Tonight you are the support and shelter of everyone,

وَأَكْرَمُ الْخَلَائِقِ ، تُحِبُّ الضِّيَافَةَ وَمَأْمُورٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ جَلَّ جَلَالُهُ بِالْإِجَارَةِ ، عَبْدُكَ ضَيْفُ اللَّهِ وَضَيْفُكَ ، وَجَارُ اللَّهِ وَجَارُكَ فَأَجِرْ عَبْدَكَ وَأَضِفْهُ ،.

wa akramu l-khalā'iqi , tuḥibbu ḍ-ḍwiyāfata wa māmūrun mina l-lahi jalla jalāluhu bi l-ijārati , ʿabduka ḍayfu l-lahi wa ḍayfuka , wa jāru l-lahi wa jāruka fa ajir ʿabdaka wa aḍifhu ,.

you are the most exalted and generous among all exalted and generous ones, you like inviting guests and want to be generous towards them;Also Allah (the Glorious, the Exalted), has commanded you to provide refuge and shelter forthe wretched and unsheltered people;now here is one of the Allah's unsheltered servants who has came to attend your as well as Allah's feast; has attached his heart upon your support and well as Allah's support and hospitality;be hospitable and allow him to sit upon the table of your generosity and treat him in the following manner:

وَاجْعَلْ قِرَايَ مِنْكَ اللَّيْلَةَ أَنْ تُدْخِلَنِي فِي هَمِّكَ وَحِزْبِكَ ، وَدُعَائِكَ وَحِمَايَتِكَ ، وَشَفَاعَتِكَ وَوِلَايَتِكَ وَشِيعَتِكَ ..

wajʿal qirāya minka l-laylata an tudkhilanī fī hammika wa ḥizbikā , wa duʿā'ika wa ḥimāyatika , wa shafāʿatika wa wilāyatika wa shīʿatika ..

Consider him as your friend and supporter and do not deprive me from your best support and endeavours; do not deprive him from your prayer, backing, and intercession

وَارْغَبْ إِلَى اللَّهِ لِي فِي كَرَمِ عَفْوِهِ ، وَقَبُولِهِ ، وَرِضَاهُ ،.

warghab ila l-lahi lī fī karami ʿafwihi , wa qabūlihi , wa riḍāhu ,.

;ask Allah (the Glorious, the Exalted), not to deprive me from His Forgiveness and Benevolence; His mercy and compassion;

وَأَنْ يَنْظُرَ إِلَيَّ نَظْرَةً رَحِيمَةً بِهَا عَنِّي رِضًا لَا سَخَطَ عَلَيَّ بَعْدَهُ أَبَدًا ، وَيُلْحِقُنِي بِشِيعَتِكُمُ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ ، وَأَوْلِيَائِكُمُ السَّابِقِينَ ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَرُدُّ شَفَاعَتَكَ ، فَإِنَّ لَكَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ شَأْنًا مِنَ الشَّأْنِ ، وَقَدْرًا مِنَ الْقَدْرِ ، فَبِحَقِّ هَذَا الشَّأْنِ الَّذِي جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لَكَ.

wa an yanẓura ilayya naẓratan raḥīmatan biha ʿannī riḍan lā sakhaṭa ʿalayya baʿdahu abadan , wa yulḥiqunī bi shīʿatikumu l-muqarrabīna , wa awliyā'ikumu s-sābiqīna , fa innahu lā yaruddu shafāʿataka , fa inna laka ʿinda l-lahi shānan mina sh-shāni , wa qadran mina l-qadri , fabiḥaqwi hadha sh-shāni l-ladhī jaʿala l-lahu laka.

then look at him with love and pleasure;becoming so happy and pleased with him that after that He should never become unhappy and angry with him, should regard him as His sincere friend and worthy servant....
O' my masters! Please beseech Allah (the Glorious, the Exalted), to bestow upon me these things; He will accept your prayer and intercession, because your splendour and majesty, and your worth and prestige before Him is far greater than what could be perceived by the human mind and understanding

يَا مَوْلَايَ أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَسْمَحَ فِي حَقِّي بِمَا سَأَلْتُكَ ،

yā mawlāya asaluka an tasmaḥa fī ḥaqī bi mā sāltuka ,

I ask you by your splendour and majesty,which Allah (the Glorious, the Exalted), has bestowed upon you,

وَتَزِيدَنِي بِمِقْدَارِ كَرَامَتِكَ ،

wa tazīdanī bi miqdāri karāmatika ,

reward me more than whatever I have asked in accordance with your generosity;

وَلَا تَنْظُرْ يَا سَيِّدِي إِلَى حَقَارَتِي وَذُلَّ مَقَامِي وَسُوءَ حَالِي ،

wa lā tanẓur yā sayyidī ila ḥaqāratī wa dhulla maqāmī wa sū'a ḥālī ,

don't look upon my worthlessness, disobedience, and deviations,

فَإِنَّ الْكِرَامَ لَا يَعْظُمُ عَلَيْهِمْ فِي قِرَى ضَيْفِهِمْ شَيْءٌ مِنَ الْعَطَايَا ،

fa inna l-kirāma lā yaʿẓumu ʿalayhim fī qira ḍayfihim shay'un mina l-ʿaṭāyā

because the generosity of the generous ones and the hospitality shown by the exalted ones are in accordance with their generosity and exaltedness

وَلَا يُقَدِّرُونَ كَرَامَتَهُمْ وَعَطَايَاهُمْ بِقَدْرِ الضُّيُوفِ السَّائِلِينَ ،

wa lā yuqaddirūna karāmatahum wa ʿaṭāyāhum bi qadri ḍ-ḍuyūfi s-sā'ilīna ,

and not in proportion with the worth and merit of their requester.

فَإِنَّ الْعَطَاءَ بِقَدْرِ الْمُعْطِي ، وَالْقِرَى بِقَدْرِ الْمُضِيفِ..

fa inna l-ʿaṭā'a bi qadri l-muʿṭī , wa l-qira bi qadri l-muḍīfi..

You reward in proportion with the giver and not on the worth and merit of their recipients

سَادَتِي أَنْتُمُ الَّذِينَ عَلَّمْتُمُ الْكِرَامَ آدَابَ الْكَرَامَةِ ، وَالْأَجْوَادُ شِيمُ الْجُودِ وَالسَّمَاحَةِ ، إِنْ ذُكِرَ الْجُودُ كُنْتُمْ أَوَّلَهُ وَآخِرَهُ ، وَأَصْلَهُ وَفَرْعَهُ وَمُنْتَهَاهُ ، وَإِنْ قِيلَ الْكَرَمُ فَأَنْتُمْ مَعْدِنُهُ وَمَأْوَاهُ لَا يَرُدُّ سَائِلَكُمْ وَلَا يَخِيبُ آمِلَكُمْ ..

sādatī antumu l-ladhīna ʿallamtumu l-kirāma adāba l-karāmati , wa l-ajjadu shīmu l-jūdi wa s-samāḥati , in dhukira l-jūdu kuntum awwalahu wa akhirahu , wa aṣlahu wa farʿahu wa muntahāhu , wa in qīla l-karamu fa antum maʿdinuhu wa māwahu lā yaruddu sā'ilakum wa lā yakhību amilakum ..

O' my masters! You are the ones who have taught greatness to the exalted ones, generosity to the generous ones, and benevolence to the benevolent ones;
if there is a discussion about the benevolence you are the first and the last as well as the roots and the branches; if there is a discussion about the magnanimity and greatness you are their fountainhead; you are the ones who never returned any one hopeless and empty-handed, .

سَادَتِي أَنْتُمُ الَّذِينَ قُلْتُمْ : مَثَلُ الْمَعْرُوفِ مَثَلُ الْمَطَرِ ، يُصِيبُ الْبَرَّ وَالْفَاجِرَ ، فَلَا تَمْنَعُونِي سَحَائِبَ رَأفَتِكُمْ ، فَلْيُصِبْنِي أَمْطَارُ جُودِكُمْ ، فَإِنِّي مِنْ جُودِكُمْ جَائِعٌ ، وَمِنْ كَرَمِكُمْ ظَمْآنٌ ، لَا تَرْضُوا لِضَيْفِكُمْ أَنْ يَبِيتَ فِي حِمَاكُمْ جَائِعًا ضَمْآنًا..

sādatī antumu l-ladhīna qultum : mathalu l-maʿrūfi mathalu l-maṭari , yuṣību l-barra wa l-fājira , fa lā tamnaʿūnī saḥā'iba ra'afatikum , falyuṣibnī amṭāru jūdikum , fa'innī min jūdikum jā'iʿun , wa min karamikum ẓamānun , lā tarḍū li ḍayfikum an yabīta fī ḥimākum jā'iʿan ḍamānan..

as you yourself have proclaimed:"Your generosity and reward like rain water pour upon the righteous ones as well as upon the bad ones, likewise;" saturate me with the rain of your generosity, do not deprive me from the rain of your generosity, do not deprive me from the pouring of your love because I am thirsty for your generosity and hungry for your love and affection;you don't like that your guests who have taken shelter in your threshold and have tied their hopes upon your benevolence should remain thirsty and hungry.

فَأَنْتَ يَا مَوْلَايَ مَتَى مَا مَنَعْتَنِي قِرَاكَ ، بِتُّ طَاوِيًا فِي حِمَاكَ ، وَوَصَلْتُ إِلَى الْهَلَاكِ ، حَاشَاكَ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْمُعَامَلَةِ مَعَ ضَيْفِكَ ثُمَّ حَاشَاكَ ..

fa anta yā mawlāya mata mā manaʿtanī qirāka , bi tu ṭāwiyan fī ḥimāka , wa wa ṣaltu ila l-halāki , ḥāshāka min hadhihi l-muʿāmalati maʿa ḍayfika thumma ḥāshāka ..

O' my masters! If you will deprive me from your hospitality I will die with hunger under your shelter sitting upon the side of your tablecloth.
No! No! You wouldn't treat me in this manner; you are not the ones who would deprive the guests from your hospitality so that he would return heart-broken, hopeless and hungry. Never! Never!

8.Second Dua at the Begining of the month of Ramadhan - Iqbal Aamal
The following supplication has been narrated in various ways including what we read in Man La Yahzaruh Al-Faqih by Ibn Babuyih as follows. It has been narrated on the authority of Imam Musa ibn Ja‟far (as): “Recite these supplications at the beginning of the new year in the month of Ramadhan. Whoever recites these supplications with sincere intentions shall not suffer from any chaos or harm in his religion, worldly affairs or health and God would protect him from whatever occurs to him during that year.”

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِي دَانَ لَهُ كُلُّ شَيْ‌ءٍ وَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ الَّتِي وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْ‌ءٍ وَ بِعِزَّتِكَ الَّتِي قَهَرَتْ كُلَّ شَيْ‌ءٍ وَ بِعَظَمَتِكَ الَّتِي تَوَاضَعَ لَهَا كُلُّ شَيْ‌ءٍ وَ بِقُوَّتِكَ الَّتِي خَضَعَ لَهَا كُلُّ شَيْ‌ءٍ وَ بِجَبَرُوتِكَ الَّتِي غَلَبَتْ كُلَّ شَيْ‌ءٍ وَ بِعِلْمِكَ الَّذِي‌ أَحاطَ بِكُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ

“O‟ God! I ask You, in the name of Your Name before which everything kneels down, in the name of Your Mercy which encompasses everything; in the name of Your Might which subdues everything and by Your Grandeur to which all things are humble by Your Strength to which all things are humble and by Your Omnipotence which has conquered all things and by Your Knowledge which encompasses all things.

يَا نُورُ يَا قُدُّوسُ يَا أَوَّلُ قَبْلَ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ وَ يَا بَاقِي بَعْدَ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ

O‟ Light! O‟ Holy One! O‟ the First before everything! O‟ Everlasting after all things.

يَا اللَّهُ يَا رَحْمَانُ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

O‟ God! O‟ Beneficent! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as).

وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تُغَيِّرُ النِّعَمَ وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تُنْزِلُ النِّقَمَ وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تَقْطَعُ الرَّجَاءَ وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تُدِيلُ الْأَعْدَاءَ

Forgive me for my sins that would change Divine Favors. Please forgive me for my sins that would bring down misfortunes. And forgive me for my sins that would cut off hope. Forgive me for my sins that would allow enemies to lay hands on me.

وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تَرُدُّ الدُّعَاءَ وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تُنْزِلُ الْبَلَاءَ وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تَحْبِسُ غَيْثَ السَّمَاءِ وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تَكْشِفُ الْغِطَاءَ وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تُعَجِّلُ الْفَنَاءَ وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تُورِثُ النَّدَمَ وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تَهْتِكُ الْعِصَمَ [وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تَرْفَعُ الْقِسَمِ‌]

Forgive me for my sins that would nullify supplications. Forgive me for my sins that would bring down calamities. Forgive me for my sins that would hold off rain from the sky. Forgive me for my sins that would expose what has been forgotten. Forgive me for my sins that would expedite destruction. Forgive me for my sins that would result in remorse. Forgive me for my sins that would ruin my integrity and bless me with Your Impregnable Protective Covering which never collapses.

وَ أَلْبِسْنِي دِرْعَكَ الْحَصِينَةَ الَّتِي لَا تُرَامُ وَ عَافِنِي مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَخَافُ بِاللَّيْلِ وَ النَّهَارِ فِي مُسْتَقْبَلِ سَنَتِي هَذِهِ

Please safeguard me from the evils which may frighten me by threats, day in and day out, throughout this year.

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّمَوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَ رَبَّ الْأَرَضِينَ السَّبْعِ وَ مَا فِيهِنَّ وَ مَا بَيْنَهُنَّ وَ رَبَّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ

O‟ my God! Lord of the seven heavens and the seven layers of the earth and all that is therein and all that is between them.

وَ رَبَّ السَّبْعِ الْمَثَانِي وَ الْقُرْآنِ الْعَظِيمِ

O‟ Lord of the Throne Supreme! O‟ Lord of „the Seven Oftrepeated (verses) and the Grand Qur‟an‟ .

وَ رَبَّ إِسْرَافِيلَ وَ مِيكَائِيلَ وَ جَبْرَئِيلَ وَ رَبَّ مُحَمَّدٍ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّينَ وَ سَيِّدِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ

O‟ Lord of Israfil, Michael, and Gabriel! O‟ Lord of Muhammad (as) – the Seal of the Prophets (as) and the Master of the Messengers (as).

أَسْأَلُكَ بِكَ وَ بِمَا تَسَمَّيْتَ بِهِ [سَمَّيْتَ بِهِ نَفْسَكَ‌] يَا عَظِيمُ أَنْتَ الَّذِي تَمُنُّ بِالْعَظِيمِ وَ تَدْفَعُ كُلَّ مَحْذُورٍ وَ تُعْطِي كُلَّ جَزِيلٍ وَ تُضَاعِفُ مِنَ الْحَسَنَاتِ الْكَثِيرِ بِالْقَلِيلِ وَ تَفْعَلُ مَا تَشَاءُ

I ask You in Your Name and in Name of that which You referred to Yourself. O‟ the All-Mighty! You are He who gives great favors, fends off all dangers, gives abundant things, and rewards a lot in exchange for a little. You do what You Will.

يَا قَدِيرُ يَا اللَّهُ يَا رَحْمَانُ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَلْبِسْنِي فِي مُسْتَقْبَلِ سَنَتِي هَذِهِ سِتْرَكَ

O‟ Almighty! O‟ God! O‟ Merciful! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as) and cover me with Your Protection during this year.

وَ أَضِئْ وَجْهِي بِنُورِكَ وَ أَحِبَّنِي [أَحْيِنِي‌] بِمَحَبَّتِكَ وَ بَلِّغْ بِي رِضْوَانَكَ وَ شَرِيفَ كَرَائِمِكَ وَ جَزِيلَ [جَسِيمَ‌] عَطَائِكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَا عِنْدَكَ وَ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَا أَنْتَ مُعْطِيهِ أَحَداً مِنْ خَلْقِكَ سِوَى مَنْ لَا يَعْدِلُهُ عِنْدَكَ أَحَدٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ وَ أَلْبِسْنِي مَعَ ذَلِكَ عَافِيَتَكَ

Illuminate my face with Your Light, love me with Your Love, and let Your Pleasure and Abundant Gifts reach me. The best of what is with You, and the best of what You have ever bestowed to any of Your creatures except for the one no one equals to in this world and the Hereafter.Also bless me with well-being.

يَا مَوْضِعَ كُلِّ شَكْوَى وَ يَا شَاهِدَ كُلِّ نَجْوَى وَ يَا عَالِمَ كُلِّ خَفِيَّةٍ وَ يَا دَافِعَ مَا تَشَاءُ مِنْ بَلِيَّةٍ يَا كَرِيمَ الْعَفْوِ يَا حَسَنَ التَّجَاوُزِ

O‟ He who settles all complaints! O‟ He who sees clearly all that is whispered! O‟ He who knows all which is kept undisclosed! O‟ He who protects from calamities whenever He Wills! O‟ Generous one who Pardons! O‟ He who overlooks faults!

تَوَفَّنِي‌ عَلَى مِلَّةِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَ فِطْرَتِهِ وَ عَلَى دِينِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ وَ سُنَّتِهِ وَ عَلَى خَيْرِ الْوَفَاةِ

Please let me depart from this world adhering to the creed of the Prophet Abraham (as), his disposition and following the religion and way of life of Muhammad (as) – the best departure.

فَتَوَفَّنِي مُوَالِياً لِأَوْلِيَائِكَ [وَ] مُعَادِياً لِأَعْدَائِكَ

Please take my life in love of Your Friends, and as enemy of Your enemies.

اللَّهُمَّ وَ امْنَعْنِي مِنْ كُلِّ عَمَلٍ أَوْ فِعْلٍ أَوْ قَوْلٍ يُبَاعِدُنِي مِنْكَ وَ اجْلِبْنِي إِلَى كُلِّ عَمَلٍ أَوْ فِعْلٍ أَوْ قَوْلٍ يُقَرِّبُنِي مِنْكَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

O‟ God! Please fend off from me, during his year, all words or deeds that could push me far away from You and keep me close to all deeds and words which bring me near to You during this year – O‟ the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.

وَ امْنَعْنِي مِنْ كُلِّ عَمَلٍ أَوْ فِعْلٍ أَوْ قَوْلٍ يَكُونُ مِنِّي أَخَافُ سُوءَ عَاقِبَتِهِ وَ أَخَافُ مَقْتَكَ إِيَّايَ عَلَيْهِ حِذَارَ أَنْ تَصْرِفَ وَجْهَكَ الْكَرِيمَ عَنِّي فَأَسْتَوْجِبَ بِهِ نَقْصاً مِنْ حَظٍّ لِي عِنْدَكَ يَا رَءُوفُ يَا رَحِيمُ

Please prevent me from all words or deeds that could cause an evil result on account of which I am scared of Your Aversion; and I am afraid that You may turn Your Noble Face away from me and I be prohibited from obtaining my share of good fortune that is near You – O‟ Compassionate, O‟ Merciful.

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي فِي مُسْتَقْبَلِ هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ فِي حِفْظِكَ وَ جِوَارِكَ وَ كَنَفِكَ وَ جَلِّلْنِي عَافِيَتَكَ وَ هَبْ لِي كَرَامَتَكَ عَزَّ جَارُكَ وَ جَلَّ ثَنَاؤُكَ وَ لَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ

O‟ God! Throughout this year, please keep me under Your Custody, near Yourself and by Your Side. Cover me with Your Protective Covering and bestow on me Your Benevolence since anyone under Your Protection is honored and Glorious and Sublime is Your Praise and there is no God but You.

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي تَابِعاً لِصَالِحِي مَنْ مَضَى مِنْ أَوْلِيَائِكَ وَ أَلْحِقْنِي بِهِمْ وَ اجْعَلْنِي مُسَلِّماً لِمَنْ قَالَ بِالصِّدْقِ عَلَيْكَ مِنْهُمْ وَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ

O‟ my God! Please let me follow Your past Friends, and let me be closely tied up with them; and believe what they truthfully said on Your Behalf.

يَا إِلَهِي أَنْ تُحِيطَ بِي خَطِيئَتِي وَ ظُلْمِي وَ إِسْرَافِي عَلَى نَفْسِي وَ اتِّبَاعِي لِهَوَايَ وَ اشْتِغَالِي بِشَهَوَاتِي [وَ اسْتِعْمَالِ شَهَوَاتِي‌] فَيَحُولَ ذَلِكَ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَ رِضْوَانِكَ فَأَكُونَ مَنْسِيّاً عِنْدَكَ مُتَعَرِّضاً لِسَخَطِكَ وَ نَقِمَتِكَ [نقمتك‌]

O‟ my God! I take refuge with You from being surrounded with slippages, crimes, ignorance, harming myself, following lust, engagining in carnal desires that cause a barrier between me and Your Mercy and Pleasure and I be forgotten by You and be subjected to Your Wrath and Revenge.

اللَّهُمَّ وَفِّقْنِي لِكُلِّ عَمَلٍ صَالِحٍ تَرْضَى بِهِ عَنِّي وَ قَرِّبْنِي إِلَيْكَ زُلْفَى

O‟ my God! Please grant me success in doing deeds that would please You and help me get close to You.

اللَّهُمَّ كَمَا كَفَيْتَ نَبِيَّكَ مُحَمَّداً صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ هَوْلَ عَدُوِّهِ وَ فَرَّجْتَ هَمَّهُ وَ كَشَفْتَ كَرْبَهُ وَ صَدَقْتَهُ وَعْدَكَ وَ أَنْجَزْتَ لَهُ عَهْدَكَ

O‟ God! You did everything to help Your Prophet Muhammad (as) regarding the threats of his enemies, removed his anxieties, relieved his troubles, honored Your Promise, and completely carried it out.

اللَّهُمَّ فَبِذَلِكَ فَاكْفِنِي هَوْلَ هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ وَ آفَاتَهَا وَ أَسْقَامَهَا وَ فِتْنَتَهَا [وَ فِتَنَهَا] وَ شُرُورَهَا وَ أَحْزَانَهَا وَ ضِيقَ الْمَعَاشِ فِيهَا

O‟ my God! Please keep me safe from fearful things and events, during this year, and from their consequences including ailments, confusion, evil, sorrow; and the economic recession.

وَ بَلِّغْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ كَمَالَ الْعَافِيَةِ بِتَمَامِ دَوَامِ النِّعْمَةِ عِنْدِي إِلَى مُنْتَهَى أَجَلِي

And through Your Mercy let me attain perfect well-being from the Everlasting Bounties until the end of my life.

أَسْأَلُكَ سُؤَالَ مَنْ أَسَاءَ وَ ظَلَمَ وَ اسْتَكَانَ وَ اعْتَرَفَ أَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِي مَا مَضَى مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ الَّتِي حَصَرَتْهَا حَفَظَتُكَ وَ أَحْصَتْهَا كِرَامُ مَلَائِكَتِكَ عَلَيَّ وَ أَنْ تَعْصِمَنِيَ

I ask You just like a person who has transgressed and oppressed others, but surrenders and confesses.

I ask You to forgive my past sins that are counted by Your preserving angels, and which have been recorded by the angels You appointed over me.

اللَّهُمَّ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ فِي مَا بَقِيَ مِنْ عُمُرِي إِلَى مُنْتَهَى أَجَلِي

O‟ my God! Please protect me from sins during the rest of my lifetime up until my death.

يَا اللَّهُ يَا رَحْمَانُ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَهْلِ بَيْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آتِنِي كُلَّ مَا سَأَلْتُكَ وَ رَغِبْتُ فِيهِ إِلَيْكَ فَإِنَّكَ أَمَرْتَنِي بِالدُّعَاءِ وَ تَكَفَّلْتَ بِالْإِجَابَةِ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.

O‟ God! O‟ Beneficent! And please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as) and give me all I asked for and for which I turned to You. It was You who ordered me to pray to You and You obliged Yourself to fulfill. O‟ the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.‟ ”

اللَّهُمَّ هَذَا شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الْمُبَارَكِ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ فِيهِ الْقُرْآنَ

“O‟ my God! This is the blessed month of Ramadhan in which You revealed the Qur‟an,

وَ جَعَلْتَهُ‌ هُدىً لِلنَّاسِ وَ بَيِّناتٍ مِنَ الْهُدى‌ وَ الْفُرْقانِ

and established it as a guidance for the mankind, with evident demonstration and clear proofs for guidance and judgment.

‌ قَدْ حَضَرَ فَسَلِّمْنَا فِيهِ وَ سَلِّمْهُ لَنَا وَ تَسَلَّمْهُ مِنَّا فِي يُسْرٍ مِنْكَ وَ عَافِيَةٍ وَ أَسْأَلُكَ

It has begun. Please keep us healthy during it and after it. Please let us be peaceful during it with ease and well-being for me provided by You.

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِي فِي شَهْرِي هَذَا وَ تَرْحَمَنِي فِيهِ

O‟ my God! I ask You to forgive me in this month, have Mercy on me during it,

وَ تُعْتِقَ رَقَبَتِي مِنَ النَّارِ وَ تُعْطِيَنِي فِيهِ خَيْرَ مَا أَعْطَيْتَ أَحَداً مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

grant me release from the Hell-fire, and grant me the best of what You have granted or would grant to any of Your creatures during it.

وَ خَيْرَ مَا أَنْتَ مُعْطِيهِ وَ لَا تَجْعَلْهُ آخِرَ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ صُمْتُهُ لَكَ مُنْذُ أَسْكَنْتَنِي أَرْضَكَ إِلَى يَوْمِي هَذَا

Please do not make this the last month of Ramadhan in which I fast for You since You made me reside on the earth until today.

وَ اجْعَلْهُ عَلَيَّ أَتَمَّهُ نِعْمَةً وَ أَعَمَّهُ عَافِيَةً وَ أَوْسَعَهُ رِزْقاً وَ أَجْزَلَهُ وَ أَهْنَئَهُ

Please make it be perfect blessings, best health, most abundant sustenance, and abdundant rewards for me.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ وَ بِوَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيمِ وَ مُلْكِكَ الْعَظِيمِ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ يَوْمِي هَذَا

O‟ my God! I take refuge in You, Your Noble Face, Your Majestic Dominion from You letting the setting of the Sun today,

أَوْ يَنْقَضِيَ بَقِيَّةُ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ أَوْ يَطْلُعَ الْفَجْرُ مِنْ لَيْلَتِي هَذِهِ أَوْ يَخْرُجَ هَذَا الشَّهْرُ وَ لَكَ قِبَلِي مَعَهُ تَبِعَةٌ

or let the rest of this day pass, or the dawn of this night come, or let this month end and there remain sins,

أَوْ ذَنْبٌ أَوْ خَطِيئَةٌ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تُقَابِلَنِي [تُقَايِسَنِي‌] [تُقَاصَّنِي‌] بِذَلِكَ أَوْ تُؤَاخِذَنِي بِهِ أَوْ تَقِفَنِي [تُوقِفَنِي‌] بِهِ مَوْقِفَ خِزْيٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ أَوْ تُعَذِّبَنِي بِهِ يَوْمَ أَلْقَاكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

offenses or wrongdoings that You want to question me about or stop me in the position of humility in this world and the Hereafter, or punish me for it on the Day I meet You. O‟ the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful. O‟ my God!

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَدْعُوكَ لِهَمٍّ لَا يُفَرِّجُهُ غَيْرُكَ وَ لِرَحْمَةٍ لَا تُنَالُ إِلَّا بِكَ وَ لِكَرْبٍ لَا يَكْشِفُهُ إِلَّا أَنْتَ وَ لِرَغْبَةٍ لَا تَبْلُغُ إِلَّا بِكَ وَ لِحَاجَةٍ لَا تُقْضَى دُونَكَ

I call on You about the troubles which cannot be driven off by anyone but You, about the mercy which does not come except from You, about the anguish which does not go away except by You, about the affection which does not grow unless You let it; and the needs which no one can fulfill but You.

اللَّهُمَّ فَكَمَا كَانَ مِنْ شَأْنِكَ مَا أَرَدْتَنِي بِهِ مِنْ مَسْأَلَتِكَ وَ رَحِمْتَنِي بِهِ مِنْ ذِكْرِكَ فَلْيَكُنْ مِنْ شَأْنِكَ سَيِّدِي الْإِجَابَةُ لِي فِيمَا دَعَوْتُكَ وَ النَّجَاةُ لِي فِيمَا قَدْ فَزِعْتُ إِلَيْكَ مِنْهُ

O‟ my God! You have given me permission to invoke You and ask You. You have had Mercy on me with Your Remembrance. O‟ my Master! Please be kind and fulfill what I prayed to You for and save me from what I took refuge from in You.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ افْتَحْ لِي مِنْ خَزَائِنِ رَحْمَتِكَ رَحْمَةً لَا تُعَذِّبُنِي بَعْدَهَا أَبَداً فِي الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ

O my God! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as). Please open Your Treasures of Mercy for me. Please never punish me afterwards in this world and the Hereafter.

وَ ارْزُقْنِي مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْوَاسِعِ رِزْقاً حَلَالًا طَيِّباً لَا تُفْقِرُنِي بَعْدَهُ إِلَى أَحَدٍ سِوَاكَ أَبَداً تَزِيدُنِي بِذَلِكَ لَكَ شُكْراً وَ إِلَيْكَ فَاقَةً وَ فَقْراً وَ بِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ غِنًى وَ تَعَفُّفاً

O‟ God! Please bless me with abundant, legitimately earned and pure sustenance through Your Extensive Nobility. Please never make me needy of anyone but You such that I may thank You more, and express my privation and poverty to You, and become needless of others than You.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ يَكُونَ جَزَاءُ إِحْسَانِكَ الْإِسَاءَةَ مِنِّي

O my God! I take refuge in You from doing bad deeds in return for Your Kindness.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أُصْلِحَ عَمَلِي فِيمَا بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَ أُفْسِدَهُ فِيمَا بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَكَ

O my God! I take refuge in You from improving the affairs between me and the people at the expense of ruining my relations with You.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ تُحَوَّلَ [تَحَوَّلَ‌] سَرِيرَتِي بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَكَ أَوْ تَكُونَ‌ مُخَالِفَةً لِطَاعَتِكَ

O my God! I take refuge in You from my thoughts causing a barrier between me and You, or to be opposed to Your Obedience.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ يَكُونَ شَيْ‌ءٌ مِنَ الْأَشْيَاءِ آثَرَ عِنْدِي مِنْ طَاعَتِكَ

O my God! I take refuge in You from things that may come in the way of Your Obedience.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَعْمَلَ مِنْ طَاعَتِكَ قَلِيلًا أَوْ كَثِيراً أُرِيدُ بِهِ أَحَداً غَيْرَكَ أَوْ أَعْمَلَ عَمَلًا يُخَالِطُهُ رِيَاءٌ

O‟ my God! I take refuge in You for deeds of Your Obedience – little or a lot – that is for someone other than You, or deeds mixed with showing off.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَوًى يُرْدِي مَنْ يَرْكَبُهُ

O my God! I take refuge in You from lust that destroys one who follows it.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَجْعَلَ شَيْئاً مِنْ شُكْرِي فِيمَا أَنْعَمْتَ بِهِ عَلَيَّ لِغَيْرِكَ أَطْلُبُ بِهِ رِضَا خَلْقِكَ

O my God! I take refuge in You from expressing gratitude for Your Blessings to anyone but You in order to please Your creatures.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَتَعَدَّى حَدّاً مِنْ حُدُودِكَ أَتَزَيَّنُ بِذَلِكَ لِلنَّاسِ وَ أَرْكَنُ بِهِ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا

O my God! I take refuge in You from transgressing Your Limits with the intention of showing off and worldly gains.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِعَفْوِكَ مِنْ عُقُوبَتِكَ وَ أَعُوذُ بِرِضَاكَ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ

O my God! I take refuge in Your Pardoning from Your Chastisement. I take refuge in Your Indulgence to avoid Your Displeasure.

وَ أَعُوذُ بِطَاعَتِكَ مِنْ مَعْصِيَتِكَ وَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْكَ جَلَّ ثَنَاءُ وَجْهِكَ

I take refuge with Your Obedience to avoid Your Disobedience. I take refuge with You from You. Glorious and Sublime is the Praise of Your Face.

لَا أُحْصِي الثَّنَاءَ عَلَيْكَ وَ لَوْ حَرَصْتُ وَ أَنْتَ كَمَا أَثْنَيْتَ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ سُبْحَانَكَ وَ بِحَمْدِكَ

Your glorifications cannot be numbered no matter how hard I try, and You are just as You praise Yourself, Glory be to You. Praise be to You.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَ أَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ مَظَالِمَ كَثِيرَةٍ لِعِبَادِكَ

O my God! I ask You for forgiveness and repent to and repent to You from the many instances of oppressing Your servants.

عِنْدِي فَأَيُّمَا عَبْدٍ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ أَوْ أَمَةٍ مِنْ إِمَائِكَ كَانَتْ لَهُ قِبَلِي مَظْلِمَةٌ ظَلَمْتُهُ إِيَّاهَا فِي مَالِهِ أَوْ بَدَنِهِ أَوْ عِرْضِهِ لَا أَسْتَطِيعُ أَدَاءَ [إِدَّاءَ] ذَلِكَ إِلَيْهِ وَ لَا أَتَحَلَّلُهَا [وَ لَا تَحَلُّلَهَا] مِنْهُ

if there is any male or female of Your Creatures whom I have oppressed whether concerning his/her wealth, hearing, sight or strength and cannot now recompense him/her, or ask him/her to forgive me:

فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَرْضِهِ أَنْتَ عَنِّي بِمَا شِئْتَ وَ كَيْفَ شِئْتَ وَ هَبْهَا لِي وَ مَا تَصْنَعُ

please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as) and make him/her pleased with me anyhow and anyway You can and forgive me.

يَا سَيِّدِي بِعَذَابِي وَ قَدْ وَسِعَتْ رَحْمَتُكَ كُلَّ شَيْ‌ءٍ وَ مَا عَلَيْكَ

O‟ my Master! What do You have to do with my punishment while Your Mercy has encompassed everything.What would happen to You if You honor me with Your Mercy and do not belittle me with Your Chastisement.

يَا رَبِّ أَنْ تُكْرِمَنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ وَ لَا تُهِينَنِي بِعَذَابِكَ وَ لَا يَنْقُصُكَ يَا رَبِّ أَنْ تَفْعَلَ بِي مَا سَأَلْتُكَ وَ أَنْتَ وَاجِدٌ لِكُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ

O‟ Lord! If You do what I ask You for, nothing will be diminished from You and You are the Finder of all things.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَ أَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ كُلِّ ذَنْبٍ تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ عُدْتُ فِيهِ

O my God! I ask You to forgive me. I repent to You from all sins for which I repented to You and then returned to.

وَ مِمَّا ضَيَّعْتُ مِنْ فَرَائِضِكَ وَ أَدَاءِ [أداء] حَقِّكَ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ وَ الزَّكَاةِ وَ الصِّيَامِ وَ الْجِهَادِ وَ الْحَجِّ وَ الْعُمْرَةِ

And for the obligations to You which I did not perform and Your Rights incumbent upon me which I did not honor including praying, paying the alms-tax, fasting, participating in holy wars, performing the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages,

أَوْ إِسْبَاغِ الْوُضُوءِ وَ الْغُسْلِ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ وَ قِيَامِ اللَّيْلِ وَ كَثْرَةِ الذِّكْر

complete ablutions, obligatory major ritual ablutions after intercourse, staying up at night with much remembrance,

ِ وَ كَفَّارَةِ الْيَمِينِ وَ الِاسْتِرْجَاعِ فِي الْمَعْصِيَةِ وَ الصُّدُودِ وَ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ قَصَّرْتُ فِيهِ مِنْ فَرِيضَةٍ أَوْ سُنَّةٍ فَإِنِّي أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ

payment of the expiation for swearing, returning to commitment of sins, failure in doing things whether obligatory or based on tradition. Verily I ask You for forgiveness

وَ أَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ مِنْهُ وَ مِمَّا رَكِبْتُ مِنَ الْكَبَائِرِ وَ أَتَيْتُ مِنَ الْمَعَاصِي وَ عَمِلْتُ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ وَ اجْتَرَحْتُ مِنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ وَ أَصَبْتُ مِنَ الشَّهَوَاتِ

and I repent to You for the major sins I committed, my acts of disobedience, my sinful deeds and evil deeds, my lustful acts

وَ بَاشَرْتُ مِنَ الْخَطَايَا مِمَّا عَمِلْتُهُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ عَمْداً أَوْ خَطَأً سِرّاً أَوْ عَلَانِيَةً

and my wrongdoings committed whether on purpose or by mistake, in private or in public.

فَإِنِّي أَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ مِنْهُ وَ مِنْ سَفْكِ الدَّمِ وَ عُقُوقِ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَ قَطِيعَةِ الرَّحِمِ وَ الْفِرَارِ مِنَ الزَّحْفِ

I turn to You from bloodshed, parent‟s damnation, cutting off ties of kinship, escaping from battle,

وَ قَذْفِ الْمُحْصََاتِ وَ أَكْلِ أَمْوَالِ الْيَتَامَى ظُلْماً وَ شَهَادَةِ الزُّورِ وَ كِتْمَانِ الشَّهَادَةِ

false accusation of adultery, oppressively devouring the wealth of orphans, false testimony, covering up testimony,

وَ أَنْ أَشْتَرِيَ بِعَهْدِكَ فِي نَفْسِي ثَمَناً قَلِيلًا وَ أَكْلِ الرِّبَا وَ الْغُلُولِ وَ السُّحْتِ وَ السِّحْرِ وَ الِاكْتِهَانِ وَ الطِّيَرَةِ وَ الشِّرْكِ وَ الرِّيَاءِ وَ السَّرِقَةِ وَ شُرْبِ الْخَمْرِ

violating Your Covenant for a small price, usury, unloyalty, eating what is forbidden, practicing magic, covering up and causing suspicion, atheism, hypocrisy and theft, drinking wine,

وَ نَقْصِ الْمِكْيَالِ وَ بَخْسِ الْمِيزَانِ وَ الشِّقَاقِ وَ النِّفَاقِ وَ نَقْضِ الْعَهْدِ وَ الْفِرْيَةِ وَ الْخِيَانَةِ وَ الْغَدْرِ وَ إِخْفَارِ الذِّمَّةِ وَ الْحَلْفِ وَ الْغِيبَةِ وَ النَّمِيمَةِ وَ الْبُهْتَانِ وَ الْهَمْزِ وَ اللَّمْزِ

giving short of measure or in less weight , cruelty, hypocrisy, breaking promise, false accusation, cheating, betrayal, violation of treaties, false oath, gossipping, slandering, accusing, scandals, slander,

وَ التَّنَابُزِ بِالْأَلْقَابِ وَ أَذَى الْجَارِ وَ دُخُولِ‌ بَيْتٍ بِغَيْرِ إِذْنٍ وَ الْفَخْرِ وَ الْكِبْرِ وَ الْإِشْرَاكِ وَ الْإِصْرَارِ وَ الِاسْتِكْبَار

calling others with bad names, disturbing neighbors and entering homes without asking permission, arrogance, haughtiness, associating partners with God, insistence in sins, too much pride,

وَ الْمَشْيِ فِي الْأَرْضِ مَرَحاً وَ الْجَوْرِ فِي الْحُكْمِ وَ الِاعْتِدَاءِ فِي الْغَضَبِ وَ رُكُوبِ الْحَمِيَّةِ وَ تَعَضُّدِ الظَّالِمِ

walking in the earth with excessive happiness, your nose up, tyranny in judgment, not controlling zeal or anger, helping the oppressor, helping in commiting sins and oppression,

وَ عَوْنٍ عَلَى الْإِثْمِ وَ الْعُدْوَانِ وَ قِلَّةِ الْعَدَدِ فِي الْأَهْلِ وَ الْمَالِ وَ الْوَلَدِ وَ رُكُوبِ الظَّنِّ وَ اتِّبَاعِ الْهَوَى وَ الْعَمَلِ بِالشَّهْوَةِ وَ الْأَمْرِ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَ النَّهْيِ عَنِ الْمُنْكَر

having a small family, little wealth, few children, following bad suspicion and lustful desires, engaging in lustful acts, enjoining to do evil, forbidding good,

ِ وَ فَسَادٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَ جُحُودِ الْحَقِّ وَ الْإِدْلَاءِ إِلَى الْحُكَّامِ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَ الْمَكْرِ وَ الْخَدِيعَةِ وَ الْبُخْلِ وَ قَوْلٍ فِيمَا لَا أَعْلَمُ وَ أَكْلِ الْمَيْتَةِ وَ الدَّمِ وَ لَحْمِ الْخِنْزِيرِ وَ ما أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ اللَّهِ بِهِ‌ وَ الْحَسَدِ

corruption on the earth, denying the truth, unrightful use of decrees, mischief, trickery or stinginess, speaking of what I do not know, eating the dead, blood, pork, and what has been killed in the name of other than God, jealousy,

وَ الْبَغْيِ وَ الدُّعَاءِ إِلَى الْفَاحِشَةِ وَ التَّمَنِّي بِمَا فَضَّلَ اللَّهُ وَ إِعْجَابٍ بِالنَّفْسِ وَ الْمَنِّ بِالْعَطِيَّةِ وَ الِارْتِكَابِ إِلَى الظُّلْمِ وَ جُحُودِ الْقُرْآنِ وَ قَهْرِ الْيَتِيمِ

aggression and inviting to corruption, jealousy of what God has favored others with, selfishness, mentioning gifts, doing oppression, denying the Qur‟an, oppressing orphans,

وَ انْتِهَارِ السَّائِلِ وَ الْحِنْثِ فِي الْأَيْمَانِ وَ كُلِّ يَمِينٍ كَاذِبَةٍ فَاجِرَةٍ وَ ظُلْمِ أَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ فِي أَمْوَالِهِمْ وَ أَشْعَارِهِمْ وَ أَعْرَاضِهِمْ

pushing beggars away, breaking oaths, false oaths, false swearing, oppression to the people regarding their property, honor, and body.

وَ أَبْشَارِهِمْ وَ مَا رَآهُ بَصَرِي وَ سَمِعَهُ سَمْعِي وَ نَطَقَ بِهِ لِسَانِي وَ بَسَطْتُ إِلَيْهِ يَدِي وَ نَقَلْتُ إِلَيْهِ قَدَمِي وَ بَاشَرَهُ جِلْدِي

my hearing has heard, my tongue has spoken, my hands have stretched out towards, stepped towards it, touched it with my skin,

وَ حَدَّثَتْ بِهِ نَفْسِي مِمَّا هُوَ لَكَ مَعْصِيَةٌ وَ كُلِّ يَمِينٍ زُورٍ وَ مِنْ كُلِّ فَاحِشَةٍ وَ ذَنْبٍ وَ خَطِيئَةٍ عَمِلْتُهَا فِي سَوَادِ اللَّيْلِ وَ بَيَاضِ النَّهَارِ فِي مَلَاءٍ

thought about, all false swearing, all corrupt acts, sins or wrongdoings, done in the darkness of the night or light of the day, in public or private,

أَوْ خَلَاءٍ مِمَّا عَلِمْتُهُ أَوْ لَمْ أَعْلَمْهُ ذَكَرْتُهُ أَوْ لَمْ أَذْكُرْهُ سَمِعْتُهُ أَوْ لَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ عَصَيْتُكَ فِيهِ رَبِّي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ وَ فِيمَا سِوَاهَا مِنْ حِلٍّ أَوْ حَرَامٍ تَعَدَّيْتُ فِيهِ أَوْ قَصَّرْتُ عَنْهُ مُنْذُ يَوْمَ خَلَقْتَنِي إِلَى أَنْ [يَوْمَ‌] جَلَسْتُ مَجْلِسِي هَذَا فَإِنِّي أَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ مِنْهُ وَ أَنْتَ يَا كَرِيمُ تَوَّابٌ رَحِيمٌ

I know it or not, I remember it or not, heard it or not; but having disobeyed my Lord even for the twinkling of an eye. I turn to You from my violation of the forbidden and the allowed done by mistake or on purpose since the day You created me until now that I am sitting here. I repent to You as You are Merciful and the Acceptor of Repentance O‟ All-Generous!

اللَّهُمَّ يَا ذَا الْمَنِّ وَ الْفَضْلِ وَ الْمَحَامِدِ الَّتِي لَا تُحْصَى صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

O my God! O‟ He who possesses favors, nobilities and praise that cannot be measured! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as), accept my repentance.

وَ اقْبَلْ تَوْبَتِي وَ لَا تَرُدَّهَا لِكَثْرَةِ ذُنُوبِي وَ مَا أَسْرَفْتُ عَلَى نَفْسِي حَتَّى لَا أَرْجِعَ فِي ذَنْبٍ تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ مِنْهُ فَاجْعَلْهَا يَا عَزِيزُ تَوْبَةً نَصُوحاً

Do not reject it due to the excessive amount of my sins, or my excess regarding myself so that I do not return to any sins I repented to You. O‟ Exalted in Might! Let it be a sincere repentance

صَادِقَةً مَبْرُورَةً لَدَيْكَ مَقْبُولَةً مَرْفُوعَةً عِنْدَكَ فِي خَزَائِنِكَ الَّتِي ذَخَرْتَهَا لِأَوْلِيَائِكَ حِينَ قَبِلْتَهَا مِنْهُمْ وَ رَضِيتَ بِهَا عَنْهُمْ

– truly approved by and accepted by You and raised to You and placed in Your Treasures in which You placed that of Your Friends when You accepted it from them and were pleased with them.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ هَذِهِ النَّفْسَ نَفْسُ عَبْدِكَ وَ أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَنْ تُحْصِنَهَا مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ وَ تَمْنَعَهَا مِنَ الْخَطَايَا وَ تُحْرِزَهَا مِنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ

O my God! This self is that of Your servant! I ask You to bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as) and protect it from sins, hinder it from wrongdoings and fend it off from evil deeds.

وَ تَجْعَلَهَا فِي حِصْنٍ حَصِينٍ مَنِيعٍ لَا يَصِلُ إِلَيْهَا ذَنْبٌ وَ لَا خَطِيئَةٌ وَ لَا يُفْسِدُهَا عَيْبٌ وَ لَا مَعْصِيَةٌ حَتَّى أَلْقَاكَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَ أَنْتَ عَنِّي رَاضٍ وَ أَنَا مَسْرُورٌ

Place it in a strong shelter that sins or offenses cannot reach it and faults or acts of disobedience cannot corrupt it until I see You on the Resurrection Day when You are pleased with me,

تَغْبِطُنِي مَلَائِكَتُكَ وَ أَنْبِيَاؤُكَ وَ جَمِيعُ خَلْقِكَ وَ قَدْ قَبِلْتَنِي وَ جَعَلْتَنِي تَائِباً طَاهِراً زَاكِياً عِنْدَكَ فِي [من‌] الصَّادِقِينَ

I am happy and all the angels, your Prophets (as) and all the people envy me while You have accepted me, and made me pure and include me with the honest ones near You.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعْتَرِفُ لَكَ بِذُنُوبِي فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اجْعَلْهَا ذُنُوباً لَا تُظْهِرُهَا لِأَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ وَ يَا غَفَّارَ الذُّنُوبِ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ سُبْحَانَكَ

O my God! Indeed I confessed to You about my sins. None of Your creatures can purify them. O‟ Forgiver of sins!Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as). O‟ the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.

اللَّهُمَّ وَ بِحَمْدِكَ عَمِلْتُ سُوءً وَ ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اغْفِرْ لِي إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ

O my God! Glory be to You! Praise be to You. I did wrong, and I oppressed myself. Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as). Please forgive me as You are All-Forgiving, Merciful!

اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كَانَ مِنْ عَطَائِكَ وَ مَنِّكَ وَ فَضْلِكَ وَ فِي‌ عِلْمِكَ وَ قَضَائِكَ أَنْ تَرْزُقَنِي التَّوْبَةَ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ

O my God! Could You please bless me with the opportunity to repent by Your Bestowal, Favor, Knowledge and Decree and bless me with repentance.Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as)

وَ اعْصِمْنِي بَقِيَّةَ عُمُرِي وَ أَحْسِنْ مَعُونَتِي فِي الْجِدِّ وَ الِاجْتِهَادِ وَ الْمُسَارَعَةِ إِلَى مَا تُحِبُّ وَ تَرْضَى وَ النَّشَاطِ وَ الْفَرَحِ وَ الصِّحَّةِ حَتَّى أَبْلُغَ فِي عِبَادَتِكَ وَ طَاعَتِكَ الَّتِي يَحِقُّ لَكَ عَلَيَّ رِضَاكَ

protect me for the rest of my life, and give me the best assistance to strive and struggle, rush towards what You like and approve, joy, happiness and healthiness until I attain such a rank by worshiping and obeying You that pleases You.

وَ أَنْ تَرْزُقَنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ مَا أُقِيمُ بِهِ حُدُودَ دِينِكَ وَ حَتَّى أَعْمَلَ فِي ذَلِكَ بِسُنَنِ نَبِيِّكَ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ وَ افْعَلْ ذَلِكَ بِجَمِيعِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ فِي مَشَارِقِ الْأَرْضِ وَ مَغَارِبِهَا

And bless me with adhering to the limits of Your Religion by Your Mercy and acting according to the tradition of Your Prophet (as). Please do the same for all the believing men and women in the east or the west of the earth.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ تَشْكُرُ الْيَسِيرَ وَ تَغْفِرُ الْكَثِيرَ وَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ تَقُولُهَا ثَلَاثاً ثُمَّ تَقُولُ

O my God! You thank for easy things and forgive a lot and You are All-Forgiving, Merciful!” Repeat it three times

اللَّهُمَّ اقْسِمْ لِي كُلَّمَا تُطْفِئُ بِهِ عَنِّي نَائِرَةَ كُلِّ جَاهِلٍ وَ تُخْمِدُ عَنِّي شُعْلَةَ كُلِّ قَائِلٍ وَ أَعْطِنِي هُدًى مِنْ كُلِّ ضَلَالَةٍ وَ غِنًى مِنْ كُلِّ فَقْرٍ وَ قُوَّةً مِنْ كُلِّ ضَعْفٍ وَ عِزّاً مِنْ كُلِّ ذُلٍّ وَ رِفْعَةً مِنْ كُلِّ ضَعَةٍ وَ أَمْناً مِنْ كُلِّ خَوْفٍ وَ عَافِيَةً مِنْ كُلِّ بَلَاءٍ

Then say: “ O my God! Please grant me all that would put out the enmity of all the ignorant and the flame of all who speak bad of me. Please bestow me guidance from all deviations, enrichment against all poverty, strength against all weaknesses, honor against all humilities, highness above all lowliness, security from all fears, and well-being from all calamities.

اللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقْنِي عَمَلًا يَفْتَحُ لِي بَابَ كُلِّ يَقِينٍ وَ يَقِيناً يَسُدُّ عَنِّي بَابَ كُلِّ شُبْهَةٍ وَ دُعَاءً تَبْسُطُ لِي بِهِ الْإِجَابَةَ وَ خَوْفاً تُيَسِّرُ لِي بِهِ كُلَّ رَحْمَةٍ وَ عِصْمَةً تَحُولُ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَ الذُّنُوبِ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

O‟ God! Please bless me with deeds by which all the doors to certitude get opened for me, certitude by which all the doors of doubt are closed to me, supplications by which I can get fulfillment, fear by which I can easily obtain all Mercy, and support that would make a barrier between me and sins by Your Mercy! O‟ the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.”

Then cry to your Lord and say:

يَا مَنْ نَهَانِي عَنِ الْمَعَاصِي [الْمَعْصِيَةِ] فَعَصَيْتُهُ فَلَمْ يَهْتِكْ سِتْرِي عِنْدَ مَعْصِيَتِهِ يَا مَنْ أَلْبَسَنِي عَافِيَةً فَعَصَيْتُهُ فَلَمْ يَسْلُبْنِي عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ عَافَيْتَهُ

“O‟ He who admonished me against sins but does not divulge my secrets when I disobey Him! O‟ He who gives me wellbeing is and does not take it away from me when I disobey Him.

يَا مَنْ أَكْرَمَنِي وَ أَسْبَغَ عَلَيَّ نِعَمَهُ فَعَصَيْتُهُ فَلَمْ يُزِلْ عَنِّي نِعْمَتَهُ يَا مَنْ نَصَحَ لِي فَتَرَكْتُ نَصِيحَتَهُ فَلَمْ يَسْتَدْرِجْنِي عِنْدَ تَرْكِي نَصِيحَتَهُ

O‟ He who honors me and increases His Blessings for me and does not hinder them from me even though I disobey Him. O‟ He who advises me but does not degrade me when I do not follow His Advice.

يَا مَنْ أَوْصَانِي بِوَصَايَا كَثِيرَةٍ لَا تُحْصَى إِشْفَاقاً مِنْهُ عَلَيَّ وَ رَحْمَةً مِنْهُ لِي فَتَرَكْتُ وَصِيَّتَهُ

O He who gave me many countless commandments out of His compassion for me and His mercy toward me, so I abandoned His commandment.

يَا مَنْ كَتَمَ سَيِّئَاتِي وَ أَظْهَرَ مَحَاسِنِي حَتَّى كَأَنِّي لَمْ أَزَلْ أَعْمَلُ بِطَاعَتِهِ

O‟ He who covers up my evil deeds and shows my good deeds even though I do not act in His Obedience.

يَا مَنْ أَرْضَيْتُ عِبَادَهُ بِسَخَطِهِ فَلَمْ يَكِلْنِي إِلَيْهِمْ وَ رَزَقَنِي مِنْ سَعَتِهِ

O‟ He whose servants I pleased in exchange for His Wrath but He did not leave me to them and continued to expand my sustenance

يَا مَنْ دَعَانِي إِلَى جَنَّتِهِ فَاخْتَرْتُ النَّارَ فَلَمْ يَمْنَعْهُ ذَلِكَ أَنْ فَتَحَ لِي بَابَ تَوْبَتِهِ

O‟ He who calls me unto His Paradise but I chose Hell and still this did not hinder Him from opening the gate of repentance to me.

يَا مَنْ أَقَالَنِي عَظِيمَ الْعَثَرَاتِ وَ أَمَرَنِي بِالدُّعَاءِ وَ ضَمِنَ لِي إِجَابَتَهُ

O‟ He who tolerates great mischief and orders me to say supplications and gurantees their fulfillment for me.

يَا مَنْ أَعْصِيهِ فَيَسْتُرُ عَلَيَّ وَ يَغْضِبُ لِي إِنْ عُيِّرْتُ بِمَعْصِيَتِهِ

O‟ He whom I disobey but He covers up for me and gets angry at those who blame me.

يَا مَنْ نَهَى خَلْقَهُ عَنِ انْتِهَاكِ مَحَارِمِي وَ أَنَا مُقِيمٌ عَلَى انْتِهَاكِ مَحَارِمِهِ

O‟ He who admonished His creatures from violating my sanctity while I am violating His sanctity.

يَا مَنْ أَفْنَيْتُ مَا أَعْطَانِي فِي مَعْصِيَتِهِ فَلَمْ يَحْبِسْ عَنِّي عَطِيَّتَهُ

O‟ He who did not withhold His Grants even though I wasted all my life in disobedience to Him.

يَا مَنْ قَوِيتُ عَلَى الْمَعَاصِي بِكِفَايَتِهِ فَلَمْ يَخْذُلْنِي وَ لَمْ يُخْرِجْنِي مِنْ كِفَايَتِهِ

O‟ He who did not debase me or abandon me even though I insisted on acts of disobedience.

يَا مَنْ بَارَزْتُهُ بِالْخَطَايَا فَلَمْ يُمَثِّلْ بِي عِنْدَ جُرْأَتِي عَلَى مُبَارَزَتِهِ

O‟ He whom I challenged with wrongdoings but He does not punish me.

يَا مَنْ أَمْهَلَنِي حَتَّى اسْتَغْنَيْتُ مِنْ لَذَّاتِي ثُمَّ وَعَدَنِي عَلَى تَرْكِهَا مَغْفِرَتَهُ

O‟ He who gives me a chance to fully enjoy things and then promised to forgive me if I abandon them.

يَا مَنْ أَدْعُوهُ وَ أَنَا عَلَى مَعْصِيَتِهِ فِيُجِيبُنِي وَ يَقْضِي حَاجَتِي بِقُدْرَتِهِ

O‟ He to whom I plead while I have disobeyed Him, but He fulfills my needs with His Power.

يَا مَنْ عَصَيْتُهُ بِاللَّيْلِ وَ النَّهَارِ وَ قَدْ وَكَّلَ بِالاسْتِغْفَارِ لِي مَلَائِكَتَهُ

O‟ He whom I disobeyed at night and during the day but He appointed angels to ask forgiveness for me!

يَا مَنْ عَصَيْتُهُ فِي الشَّبَابِ وَ الْمَشِيبِ وَ هُوَ يَتَأَنَّانِي وَ يَفْتَحُ لِي بَابَ رَحْمَتِهِ

O‟ He whom I disobey in youth and old age but He gives me more time and opens the gates of His Mercy for me!

يَا مَنْ يَشْكُرُ الْيَسِيرَ فِي عَمَلِي وَ يَنْسَى الْكَثِيرَ مِنْ كَرَامَتِهِ

O‟ He who thanks me for my easy deeds and forgets my many wrongdoings by His Benevolence.

يَا مَنْ خَلَّصَنِي بِقُدْرَتِهِ وَ نَجَّانِي بِلُطْفِهِ

O‟ He who frees me with His Power and saves me with His Kindness!

يَا مَنِ‌ اسْتَدْرَجَنِي حَتَّى جَانَبْتُ مَحَبَّتَهُ

O‟ He who gave me slowly while I abandoned His Love.

يَا مَنْ فَرَضَ الْكَثِيرَ لِي مِنْ إِجَابَتِهِ عَلَى طُولِ إِسَاءَتِي وَ تَضْيِيعِي فَرِيضَتَهُ

O‟ He who made it incumbent on Himself to respond to my prayers despite the long duration of my evil deeds and neglecting the obligatory deeds.

يَا مَنْ يَغْفِرُ ظُلْمَنَا وَ حُوبَنَا وَ جُرْأَتَنَا وَ هُوَ لَا يَجُورُ عَلَيْنَا فِي قَضِيَّتِهِ

O‟ He who forgives our oppression, our sin and our rudeness while He does not oppress us in His Decrees.

يَا مَنْ نَتَظَالَمُ فَلَا يُؤَاخِذُنَا بِعِلْمِهِ وَ يُمْهِلُ حَتَّى يُحْضِرَ الْمَظْلُومُ بَيِّنَتَهُ

O‟ He who does not question us when we oppress each other and gives us a chance to bring proof against each other‟s claim!

يَا مَنْ يَشْرَكُ بِهِ عَبْدُهُ وَ هُوَ خَلَقَهُ فَلَا يَتَعَاظَمُهُ أَنْ يَغْفِرَ لَهُ جَرِيرَتَهُ

O‟ He whose servants associate partners with Him despite having created them, but it is not hard for Him to forgive them.

يَا مَنْ مَنَّ عَلَيَّ بِتَوْحِيدِهِ وَ أَحْصَى عَلَيَّ الذُّنُوبَ وَ أَرْجُو أَنْ يَغْفِرَهَا لِي بِمَشِيَّتِهِ

O‟ He who favored me with the belief in His Oneness, measures my sins and hopefully shall forgive them with His Will.

يَا مَنْ أَعْذَرَ وَ أَنْذَرَ ثُمَّ عُدْتُ بَعْدَ الْإِعْذَارِ وَ الْإِنْذَارِ فِي مَعْصِيَتِهِ

O‟ He who admonished and promised but I turned back to His Disobedience afterwards.

يَا مَنْ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّ حَسَنَاتِي لَا تَكُونُ ثَمَناً لِأَصْغَرِ نِعَمِهِ

O‟ He who knows that my good deeds would not even make up for His Smallest Blessings.

يَا مَنْ أَفْنَيْتُ عُمُرِي فِي مَعْصِيَتِهِ فَلَمْ يُغْلِقْ عَنِّي بَابَ تَوْبَتِهِ يَا وَيْلِي مَا أَقَلَّ حَيَائِي وَ يَا سُبْحَانَ هَذَا الرَّبِّ مَا أَعْظَمَ هَيْبَتَهُ وَ يَا وَيْلِي مَا أَقْطَعَ لِسَانِي عِنْدَ الْإِعْذَارِ

O‟ He who did not close the doors of repentance even though I wasted all my life in disobedience to Him. Woe be upon me for my little shame! O‟ Glorified! This is the Lord! How great is His Awe! Woe be upon me! How blocked is my tongue when asking for excuse!

وَ مَا عُذْرِي وَ قَدْ ظَهَرَتْ عَلَيَّ حُجَّتُهُ هَا أَنَا ذَا بَائِحٌ بِجُرْمِي مُقِرٌّ بِذَنْبِي لِرَبِّي لِيَرْحَمَنِي وَ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي بِمَغْفِرَتِهِ

What excuse do I have in the face of His Proofs? And here I am revealing my crimes, confessing to my sins near my Lord so that He may have mercy upon me, and cover me with His Forgiveness.

يَا مَنِ الْأَرَضُونَ وَ السَّمَاوَاتُ جَمِيعاً فِي قَبَضْتِهِ

O‟ He who has total control over the earths and the heavens.

يَا مَنِ اسْتَحْقَقْتُ عُقُوبَتَهُ هَا أَنَا ذَا مُقِرٌّ بِذَنْبِي يَا مَنْ وَسِعَ كُلَّ شَيْ‌ءٍ بِرَحْمَتِهِ هَا أَنَا ذَا عَبْدُكَ الْحَسِيرُ الْخَاطِئُ اغْفِرْ لَهُ خَطِيئَتَهُ

O‟ He who is the most suited to punish! Here I am confessing to my sins. O‟ He whose Mercy expands over all things. And here I am Your exhausted and wrongful servant. Please forgive his sins.

يَا مَنْ يُجِيرُنِي فِي مَحْيَايَ وَ مَمَاتِي

O‟ He who is my protector in my life and after my death.

يَا مَنْ هُوَ عُدَّتِي لِظُلْمَةِ الْقَبْرِ وَ وَحْشَتِهِ

O‟ He who is my Supported in the darkness of the grave and its horror.

يَا مَنْ هُوَ ثِقَتِي وَ رَجَائِي وَ عُدَّتِي لِعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَ ضَغْطَتِهِ

O‟ He who is my trust, my hope, my supporter regarding the torture of the grave and its pressure.

يَا مَنْ هُوَ غِيَاثِي وَ مَفْزَعِي وَ عُدَّتِي لِلْحِسَابِ وَ دِقَّتِهِ

O‟ He who helps me, is my refuge, and my supporter regarding the Reckoning and its accuracy!

يَا مَنْ عَظُمَ عَفْوُهُ وَ كَرُمَ صَفْحُهُ وَ اشْتَدَّتْ نِقْمَتُهُ إِلَهِي لَا تَخْذُلْنِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَإِنَّكَ عُدَّتِي لِلْمِيزَانِ وَ خِفَّتِهِ هَا أَنَا ذَا بَائِحٌ بِجُرْمِي مُقِرٌّ بِذَنْبِي مُعْتَرِفٌ بِخَطِيئَتِي

O‟ He whose Forgiveness is great, but His Misfortunes are stern! O my God! Please do not leave me helpless on the Resurrection Day as indeed You are my Supporter regarding the Balance of Deeds and its being too light! And here I am revealing my crimes and confessing to my sins and accepting my wrongdoings.

إِلَهِي وَ خَالِقِي وَ مَوْلَايَ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اخْتِمْ لِي بِالشَّهَادَةِ وَ الرَّحْمَةِ

O my God! O‟ my Creator! O‟ my Guardian! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as), and let my ending be in the form of martyrdom and mercy.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِكُلِّ اسْمٍ هُوَ لَكَ يَحِقُّ عَلَيْكَ فِيهِ إِجَابَةُ الدُّعَاءِ إِذَا دُعِيتَ بِهِ وَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِحَقِّ كُلِّ ذِي حَقٍّ عَلَيْكَ وَ بِحَقِّكَ عَلَى جَمِيعِ مَنْ دُونَكَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَ رَسُولِكَ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَبِيدِكَ النُّجَبَاءِ الْمَيَامِينِ

O my God! I ask You by all Your Names calling You with makes it incumbent upon You to fulfill prayers. I ask You for the sake of all who have a right incumbent upon You, and for the sake of Your Right incumbent upon all others to bestow Your Blessings on Your servant and Prophet Muhammad and his Progeny (as) – Your servants the rightful noble ones.

وَ مَنْ أَرَادَنِي بِسُوءٍ فَخُذْ بِسَمْعِهِ وَ بَصَرِهِ وَ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَ مِنْ خَلْفِهِ وَ امْنَعْهُ عَنِّي بِحَوْلِكَ وَ قُوَّتِكَ‌ إِنَّكَ عَلى‌ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Whoever wills to harm me, please grab him by his hearing and sight, from the front and back, and safeguard me from him by Your Power and Strength.

Verily You are able to do the All things.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَرْغَبُ إِلَيْكَ فِي دَوْلَةٍ كَرِيمَةٍ تُعِزُّ بِهَا الْإِسْلَامَ وَ أَهْلَهُ وَ تُذِلُّ بِهَا النِّفَاقَ وَ أَهْلَهُ

O my God! I am inclined to You in the Noble Government by which You shall honor Islam and its followers, and debase hypocrisy and its adherents.

وَ تَجْعَلُنَا فِيهَا مِنَ الدُّعَاةِ إِلَى طَاعَتِكَ وَ الْقَادَةِ إِلَى سَبِيلِكَ وَ تَرْزُقُنَا بِهَا كَرَامَةَ الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

Please include us among those who invite the people to Your Obedience, and lead them to Your Approved Path, and give us the good of this world and the Hereafter. O‟ the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَشْكُو إِلَيْكَ غَيْبَةَ نَبِيِّنَا عَنَّا وَ كَثْرَةَ عَدُوِّنَا وَ قِلَّةَ عَدَدِنَا وَ شِدَّةَ الْفِتَنِ بِنَا وَ تَظَاهُرَ الزَّمَانِ عَلَيْنَا

O my God! I complain to You about the absence of our Prophet (as), the large number of our enemies, our small number, the extent of sedition against us, and the vicissitudes of time.

فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَعِنَّا عَلَى ذَلِكَ يَا رَبِّ بِفَتْحٍ مِنْكَ تُعَجِّلُهُ وَ نَصْرٍ تُعِزُّهُ وَ سُلْطَانِ حَقٍّ تُظْهِرُهُ وَ رَحْمَةٍ مِنْكَ تُجَلِّلُنَاهَا وَ عَافِيَتِكَ فَأَلْبِسْنَاهَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

So bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and help us in that, O Lord, with a conquest from You that You hasten, a victory that You honor, the authority of truth that You reveal, and a mercy from You that we glorify. Your well-being, so cover us with your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي لَمْ أَعْمَلِ الْحَسَنَةَ حَتَّى أَعْطَيْتَنِيهَا وَ لَمْ أَعْمَلِ السَّيِّئَةَ إِلَّا بَعْدَ أَنْ زَيَّنَهَا لِيَ الشَّيْطَانُ الرَّجِيمُ

O‟ my God! I have not done any good deeds except for what You have bestowed on me, and have not done any bad deeds except for what the accursed Satan adorned for me.

اللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عُدْ عَلَيَّ بِعَطَائِكَ وَ دَاوِ دَائِي‌ بِدَوَائِكَ فَإِنَّ دَائِيَ الذُّنُوبُ الْقَبِيحَةُ وَ دَوَائَكَ وَعْدُ عَفْوِكَ وَ حَلَاوَةُ رَحْمَتِكَ

O my God! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as) and heal my ailment with Your Medication. My ailment if my abominable sins, and Your Medication is Your Promise to forgive and the sweetness of Your Mercy.

اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَهْتِكْ سِتْرِي وَ لَا تُبْدِ عَوْرَتِي وَ آمِنْ رَوْعَتِي وَ أَقِلْنِي عَثْرَتِي وَ نَفِّسْ كُرْبَتِي وَ اقْضِ عَنِّي دَيْنِي وَ أَمَانَتِي وَ أَخْزِ عَدُوَّكَ وَ عَدُوَّ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عَدُوِّي وَ عَدُوَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَ الْإِنْسِ فِي مَشَارِقِ الْأَرْضِ وَ مَغَارِبِهَا

O my God! Please do not divulge my secrets and do not dispose my defects. Please change my fear into peace, overlook my transgressions, relieve my destitution, pay back my debts and what I have been entrusted with, and debase Your enemies and the enemies of the Progeny of Muhammad (as) and my enemies and the enemies of the believers from amongst the genies and men in the east or the west of the earth.

اللَّهُمَّ حَاجَتِي حَاجَتِي حَاجَتِيَ الَّتِي إِنْ أَعْطَيْتَنِيهَا لَمْ يَضُرَّنِي مَا مَنَعْتَنِي وَ إِنْ مَنَعْتَنِيهَا لَمْ يَنْفَعْنِي مَا أَعْطَيْتَنِي وَ هِيَ فَكَاكُ رَقَبَتِي مِنَ النَّارِ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

O‟ my God! I ask You for my needs, my needs, my needs. If You grant it to me, nothing withheld from me will cause me harm; and if You hold it back from me, nothing granted to me will profit me. And grant me release from the Hell-fire, and please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as).

Repeat this until you run out of breath

وَ ارْضَ عَنِّي وَ ارْضَ عَنِّي وَ ارْضَ عَنِّي

Please be pleased with me. Please be pleased with me. Please be pleased with me.”

اللَّهُمَّ إِيَّاكَ تَعَمَّدْتُ بِحَاجَتِي وَ بِكَ أَنْزَلْتُ مَسْكَنَتِي فَلْتَسَعْنِي رَحْمَتُكَ يَا وَهَّابَ الْجَنَّةِ يَا وَهَّابَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ

O my God! I turn to You for the settlement of my needs. And I present my helplessness to You. Thus please let Your Mercy extend to me. O‟ Grantor of Paradise! O‟ Grantor of forgiveness!

لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِكَ أَيْنَ أَطْلُبُكَ يَا مَوْجُوداً فِي كُلِّ مَكَانٍ فِي الْفَيَافِي مَرَّةً

There is no Change or Power except with You. O‟ He who exists everywhere! Where should I seek You? Once in the fields and another time in the desert?

وَ فِي الْقِفَارِ أُخْرَى لَعَلَّكَ تَسْمَعُ مِنِّي النِّدَاءَ فَقَدْ عَظُمَ جُرْمِي وَ قَلَّ حَيَائِي مَعَ تَقَلْقُلِ قَلْبِي

Perhaps you hear my call! Indeed my crimes are great and my shame is little. My heart is distressed,

وَ بُعْدِ مَطْلَبِي وَ كَثْرَةِ أَهْوَالِي رَبِّ أَيَّ أَهْوَالِي أَتَذَكَّرُ وَ أَيَّهَا أَنْسَى فَلَوْ لَمْ يَكُنْ إِلَّا الْمَوْتُ لَكَفَى فَكَيْفَ

my demands are far and my fears are extensive. O‟ Lord! Which of my fears should I remember, and which one should I forget? It would have been enough if I just feared death.

وَ مَا بَعْدَ الْمَوْتِ أَعْظَمُ وَ أَدْهَى يَا ثَقَلِي وَ دَمَارِي وَ سُوءَ سَلَفِي وَ قِلَّةَ نَظَرِي لِنَفْسِي حَتَّى مَتَى وَ إِلَى مَتَى أَقُولُ لَكَ الْعُتْبَى مَرَّةً بَعْدَ أُخْرَى ثُمَّ لَا تَجِدُ عِنْدِي صِدْقاً وَ لَا وَفَاءً

Then how could it be since there are greater fears after death. Woe be upon the my heavy burden of sins, my destruction, loss and my little attention to myself. How long should I keep repeating, „I return to You‟ but You do not see any honesty and loyalty in me.

أَسْأَلُكَ بِحَقِّ الَّذِي كُنْتَ لَهُ أَنِيساً فِي الظُّلُمَاتِ وَ بِحَقِّ الَّذِي [الَّذِينَ‌] لَمْ يَرْضَوْا بِصِيَامِ النَّهَارِ

I ask you for the sake of the one to whom you were a companion in the darkness and for the sake of those [who] were not satisfied with daytime fasting.

وَ بِمُكَابَدَةِ اللَّيْلِ حَتَّى مَضَوْا عَلَى الْأَسِنَّةِ قُدُماً فَخَضُبوا اللِّحَاءَ بِالدِّمَاءِ

And as they struggled through the night, they went forward on the teeth and stained the bark with blood.

وَ رَمَّلُوا الْوُجُوهَ بِالثَّرَى إِلَّا عَفَوْتَ عَمَّنْ ظَلَمَ وَ أَسَاءَ

And they covered the faces with dust, unless you pardoned those who wronged and wronged.

يَا غَوْثَاهُ يَا اللَّهُ يَا رَبَّاهْ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَوًى قَدْ غَلَبَنِي

O relief, O God, O Lord, I seek refuge in You from a desire that has overtaken me

وَ مِنْ عَدُوٍّ قَدِ اسْتَكْلَبَ عَلَيَّ وَ مِنْ دُنْيَا قَدْ تَزَيَّنَتْ لِي

And from an enemy that has oppressed me, and from this world that has been made beautiful for me.

وَ مِنْ نَفْسٍ أَمَارَةٍ بِالسُّوءِ إِلَّا ما رَحِمَ رَبِّي‌ فَإِنْ كُنْتَ سَيِّدِي قَدْ رَحِمْتَ مِثْلِي فَارْحَمْنِي

And there is no soul that inclines to evil except that which my Lord has had mercy on. If you, my master, have shown mercy to someone like me, then have mercy on me.

وَ إِنْ كُنْتَ سَيِّدِي قَدْ قَبِلْتَ مِثْلِي فَاقْبَلْنِي

And if you, my master, have accepted someone like me, then accept me.

يَا مَنْ قَبِلَ السَّحَرَةَ فَاقْبَلْنِي يَا مَنْ يُغَذِّينِي بِالنِّعَمِ صَبَاحاً

O you who accept magicians, accept me, O you who nourish me with blessings in the morning.

وَ مَسَاءً قَدْ تَرَانِي فَرِيداً وَحِيداً شَاخِصاً بَصَرِي مُقَلِّداً عَمَلِي قَدْ تَبَرَّأَ جَمِيعُ الْخَلْقِ مِنِّي نَعَمْ وَ أَبِي وَ أُمِّي وَ مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ كَدِّي وَ سَعْيِي إِلَهِي فَمَنْ يَقْبَلُنِي

And in the evening, you may see me alone, alone, observing my sight, imitating my work. All creation has disowned me, yes, and my father and my mother, and whoever has my toil and my effort, my God, who can fear? Color me

وَ مَنْ يَسْمَعُ نِدَائِي وَ مَنْ يُؤْنِسُ وَحْشَتِي وَ مَنْ يُنْطِقُ لِسَانِي إِذَا غُيِّبْتُ فِي الثَّرَى وَحْدِي ثُمَّ سَأَلْتَنِي بِمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّي فَإِنْ قُلْتُ قَدْ فَعَلْتُ فَأَيْنَ الْمَهْرَبُ مِنْ عَدْلِكَ وَ إِنْ قُلْتُ لَمْ أَفْعَلْ قُلْتَ أَ لَمْ أَكُنْ أُشَاهِدُكَ وَ أَرَاكَ

And who hears my call, and who comforts my loneliness, and who makes my tongue speak when I am absent in the dust alone, and then you ask me about what you know better than me, then if I say I did it, so where is the escape from your justice? And if I said I did not do it, I said I did not watch you and see you.

يَا اللَّهُ يَا كَرِيمَ الْعَفْوِ مَنْ لِي غَيْرُكَ إِنْ سَأَلْتُ غَيْرَكَ لَمْ يُعْطِنِي وَ إِنْ دَعَوْتُ غَيْرَكَ لَمْ يُجِبْنِي رِضَاكَ

O God, O Most Merciful of Pardon, who is there for me but You? If I ask someone else, He will not give me, and if I pray to someone else, He will not grant me Your satisfaction.

يَا رَبِّ قَبْلَ لِقَائِكَ رِضَاكَ يَا رَبِّ قَبْلَ نُزُولِ النِّيرَانِ رِضَاكَ

O Lord, before meeting You, Your satisfaction. O Lord, before the descent of the fires, Your satisfaction.

يَا رَبِّ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُغَلَّ الْأَيْدِي إِلَى الْأَعْنَاقِ رِضَاكَ

O Lord, before the hands are chained to the necks, seek Your pleasure.

يَا رَبِّ قَبْلَ أَنْ أُنَادِيَ فَلَا أُجَابَ النِّدَاءَ يَا أَحَقَّ مَنْ تَجَاوَزَ وَ عَفَى وَ عِزَّتِكَ لَا أَقْطَعُ مِنْكَ الرَّجَاءَ

O Lord, before I call, but I do not answer the call, O Most worthy of the one who transcends and pardons, and by Your glory, I do not cut off my hope from You.

وَ إِنْ عَظُمَ جُرْمِي وَ قَلَّ حَيَائِي فَقَدْ لَزِقَ بِالْقَلْبِ دَاءٌ لَيْسَ لَهُ دَوَاءٌ

And if my crime is great and my modesty is small, then a disease has stuck to the heart that has no cure.

يَا مَنْ لَمْ يَلُذِ اللَّائِذُونَ بِمِثْلِهِ يَا مَنْ لَمْ يَتَعَرَّضِ الْمُتَعَرِّضُونَ‌ لِأَكْرَمَ مِنْهُ

O He, who did not find pleasure in those like him, O He, who did not expose those who oppose him to anyone more generous than him.

[وَ] يَا مَنْ لَمْ تُشَدَّ الرِّحَالُ إِلَى مِثْلِهِ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

[And] O one like whom no mount has been drawn, bless Muhammad (PBUH) and the family of Muhammad.

وَ اشْغَلْ قَلْبِي بِعَظِيمِ شَأْنِكَ وَ أَرْسِلْ مَحَبَّتَكَ إِلَيْهِ حَتَّى أَلْقَاكَ وَ أَوْدَاجِي تَشْخُبُ دَماً يَا وَاحِدُ يَا أَجْوَدَ الْمُنْعِمِينَ الْمُتَكَبِّرَ الْمُتَعَالِ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

And occupy my heart with your great affairs and send your love to it until I meet you while my veins are brimming with blood, O One, O Most Benevolent, Arrogant, and Sublime. May God bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad

وَ افْكُكْ رَقَبَتِي مِنَ النَّارِ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

And free my neck from the fire with your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

إِلَهِي قَلَّ شُكْرِي سَيِّدِي فَلَمْ تَحْرِمْنِي وَ عَظُمَتْ خَطِيئَتِي سَيِّدِي فَلَمْ تَفْضَحْنِي وَ رَأَيْتَنِي عَلَى الْمَعَاصِي سَيِّدِي فَلَمْ تَمْنَعْنِي

O My God, my gratitude is small, my Lord, so you did not deprive me, and my sin is great, my Lord, so you did not disgrace me, and you saw me in sins, my Lord, and you did not prevent me.

وَ لَمْ تَهْتِكْ سِتْرِي وَ أَمَرْتَنِي سَيِّدِي بِالطَّاعَةِ فَضَيَّعْتُ مَا بِهِ أَمَرْتَنِي فَأَيُّ فَقِيرٍ أَفْقَرُ مِنِّي سَيِّدِي إِنْ لَمْ تُغْنِنِي فَأَيُّ شَقِيٍّ أَشْقَى مِنِّي إِنْ لَمْ تَرْحَمْنِي فَنِعْمَ الرَّبُّ أَنْتَ يَا سَيِّدِي وَ نِعْمَ الْمَوْلَى وَ بِئْسَ الْعَبْد

And you did not tear my veil, and my master commanded me to obey, and I neglected what you commanded me to do. So, what poor person is poorer than me, my master? If you do not enrich me, then what wretched person is more miserable than me? If you do not have mercy on me, then you are a good Lord, my lord, and a good Lord, and wretched is the servant.

ُ أَنَا يَا سَيِّدِي وَجَدْتَنِي أَيْ رَبَّاهْ هَا أَنَا ذَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ مُعْتَرِفٌ بِذُنُوبِي مُقِرٌّ بِالْإِسَاءَةِ وَ الظُّلْمِ عَلَى نَفْسِي مَنْ أَنَا يَا رَبِّ فَتَقْصِدَ لِعَذَابِي أَمْ مَنْ يَدْخُلُ فِي مَسْأَلَتِكَ إِنْ أَنْتَ رَحِمْتَنِي

Oh Lord, you have found me. Here I am in your hands, confessing my sins, acknowledging the offense and injustice done to myself. Who am I, Lord, so you mean to My punishment or the one who enters into your question, if you have mercy on me?

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا مَا أَسُدُّ بِهِ لِسَانِي وَ أُحْصِنُ بِهِ فَرْجِي وَ أُؤَدِّي بِهِ عَنِّي أَمَانَتِي وَ أَصِلُ بِهِ رَحِمِي وَ أَتَّجِرُ بِهِ لآِخِرَتِي

Oh God, I ask you from this world what I have been brought up with for my tongue, and I will protect him with my wife, and I will lead him with my faith in me, and I will be blessed with me and I have a good with him.

وَ يَكُونُ لِي عَوْناً عَلَى الْحَجِّ وَ الْعُمْرَةِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِكَ وَ عِزَّتِكَ يَا كَرِيمُ لَأُلِحَّنَّ عَلَيْكَ وَ لَأَطْلُبَنَّ إِلَيْكَ وَ لَأَتَضَرَّعَنَّ إِلَيْكَ وَ لَأَبْسُطَنَّهَا إِلَيْكَ مَعَ مَا اقْتَرَفْنَا مِنَ الْآثَامِ

And he will be a help to me in Hajj and Umrah, for there is no power nor strength except through You and Your glory, O Generous One. I will yearn for You and seek You. We have made supplication to you, and I will extend it to you despite the sins we have committed.

يَا سَيِّدِي فَبِمَنْ أَعُوذُ وَ بِمَنْ أَلُوذُ كُلُّ مَنْ أَتَيْتُهُ فِي حَاجَةٍ وَ سَأَلْتُهُ فَائِدَةً فَإِلَيْكَ يُرْشِدُنِي وَ عَلَيْكَ يَدُلُّنِي وَ فِيمَا عِنْدَكَ يُرَغِّبُنِي

O my Lord, in whom do I seek refuge and in whom do I seek refuge? Everyone I come to in need and ask for a benefit, to You he guides me and to You he directs me.And whatever You have that pleases me,

فَأَسْأَلُكَ بِحَقِّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عَلِيٍّ وَ فَاطِمَةَ وَ الْحَسَنِ وَ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ وَ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ مُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ وَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُوسَى وَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ وَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ وَ الْحُجَّةِ الْقَائِمِ بِالْحَقِّ صَلَوَاتُكَ يَا رَبِّ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

I ask You by the right of Muhammad and Ali and Fatima and Al-Hasan and Al-Hussein and Ali bin Al-Hussein and Muhammad bin Ali and Jafar bin Muhammad and Musa bin Jafar, Ali bin Musa, Muhammad bin Ali, Ali bin Muhammad, Al-Hasan bin Ali, and Al-Hujjah Al-Qaim Truly, may your prayers, O Lord, peace be upon them all.

وَ بِالشَّأْنِ الَّذِي لَهُمْ عِنْدَكَ فَإِنَّ لَهُمْ عِنْدَكَ شَأْناً مِنَ الشَّأْنِ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَنْ تَفْعَلَ بِي كَذَا وَ كَذَا

And as for the matter that they have with You, they have with You a matter such as: that You send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad and that you should do such-and-such to me

and ask Your needs for this world and the hereafter will be fulfilled, God willing, then you say

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا وَ رَبَّ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ مُنْزِلَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَ الْإِنْجِيلِ وَ الزَّبُورِ وَ الْفُرْقَانِ الْعَظِيمِ

O my God! Lord of all things! The Revelaer of the Torah, the Bible, the Psalms, and the Grand Criterion1

فَالِقَ الْحَبِّ وَ النَّوَى أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ دَابَّةٍ أَنْتَ‌ آخِذٌ بِناصِيَتِها أَنْتَ الْأَوَّلُ فَلَيْسَ قَبْلَكَ شَيْ‌ءٌ وَ أَنْتَ الْآخِرُ فَلَيْسَ بَعْدَكَ شَيْ‌ءٌ وَ أَنْتَ الظَّاهِرُ فَلَيْسَ دُونَكَ شَيْ‌ءٌ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ

The One who splits grains and seeds! I take refuge in You from the evils of all animals that You have control over. You are the First and there has been nothing before You. And You are the Last and there shall be nothing after You. And You are Apparent and there is nothing below You. Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as).

وَ اقْضِ عَنِّي الدَّيْنَ وَ أَغْنِنِي مِنَ الْفَقْرِ يَا خَيْرَ مَنْ عُبِدَ وَ يَا أَشْكَرَ مَنْ حُمِدَ وَ يَا أَحْلَمَ مَنْ قَهَرَ وَ يَا أَكْرَمَ مَنْ قَدَرَ وَ يَا أَسْمَعَ مَنْ نُودِيَ

Please pay back my debts and remove my poverty. O‟ the best to worship and the most grateful to praise! O‟ the most Forbearing who subdues! O‟ the Most Benevolent who destines! O‟ the most Hearing who is called!

وَ يَا أَقْرَبَ مَنْ نُوجِيَ وَ يَا آمَنَ مَنِ اسْتُجِيرَ وَ يَا أَرْأَفَ مَنِ اسْتُغِيثَ وَ يَا أَكْرَمَ مَنْ سُئِلَ وَ يَا أَجْوَدَ مَنْ أَعْطَى وَ يَا أَرْحَمَ مَنِ اسْتُرْحِمَ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ ارْحَمْ قِلَّةَ حِيلَتِي وَ امْنُنْ عَلَيَّ بِالْجَنَّةِ طَوْلًا مِنْكَ وَ فُكَّ رَقَبَتِي مِنَ النَّارِ تَفَضُّلًا

O‟ the closest One who is whispered to! O‟ the most Secure who is sought sanctuary in! O‟ the Kindest of all who is asked for help! O‟ the most Benevolent of all those who are asked of! O‟ the Most Benevolent who bestows more than all who bestow! O‟ the Most Merciful of all the merciful! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as) and show mercy on my little, my and lack of planning. Please favor me with Paradise as a gift from You and kindly grant me release from the Hell-fire.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَطَعْتُكَ فِي أَحَبِّ الْأَشْيَاءِ إِلَيْكَ وَ هُوَ التَّوْحِيدُ وَ لَمْ أَعْصِكَ فِي أَكْرَهِ الْأَشْيَاءِ إِلَيْكَ وَ هُوَ الشِّرْكُ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اكْفِنِي أَمْرَ عَدُوِّي

O my God! I obeyed You with the most beloved form that is adherence to belief in monotheism. And I did not disobey you in its most heinous form that is belief in polytheism. Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as) and support me against my enemies.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ لَكَ عَدُوّاً لَا يَأْلُونِي خَبَالًا بَصِيراً بِعُيُوبِي حَرِيصاً عَلَى غَوَايَتِي يَرَانِي هُوَ وَ قُبَيْلُهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا أَرَاهُمْ

O my God! There is an enemy of Yours that does not stop at any deviation. He is aware of my faults and is eager to deviate me. He and his tribe see me while I cannot see them.

اللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَعِذْ مِنْ شَرِّ شَيَاطِينِ الْجِنِّ وَ الْإِنْسِ أَنْفُسَنَا وَ أَمْوَالَنَا وَ أَهَالِيَنَا وَ أَوْلَادَنَا وَ مَا أُغْلِقَتْ عَلَيْهِ أَبْوَابُنَا وَ مَا أَحَاطَتْ بِهِ عَوْرَاتُنَا

O my God! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as). Please protect us, our wealth, our wives and children, and what we lock inside our house and what we protect as our honor from the evils of the satans, the genies and the people.

اللَّهُمَّ وَ حَرِّمْنِي عَلَيْهِ كَمَا حَرَّمْتَ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ وَ بَاعِدْ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَهُ كَمَا بَاعَدْتَ بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَ الْأَرْضِ وَ أَبْعَدَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ

Please forbid me for Satan as You forbade Paradise for him. Please make a distance between me and Satan as You made a distance between the heavens and the earth even farther.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ وَ مِنْ رِجْسِهِ وَ نَصْبِهِ وَ هَمْزِهِ وَ لَمْزِهِ وَ نَفْخِهِ وَ كَيْدِهِ وَ مَكْرِهِ وَ سِحْرِهِ وَ نَزْغِهِ وَ فِتْنَتِهِ وَ غَوَائِلِهِ

O my God! I take refuge in You from the accursed Satan, his filth, his deception, scandal and backbiting, seductions, tricks, cunningness, magic, sedition and calamities.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ وَ فِي الْمَحْيَا وَ الْمَمَاتِ يَا مُسَمِّيَ نَفْسِهِ بِالاسْمِ الَّذِي قَضَى أَنَّ حَاجَةَ مَنْ يَدْعُوهُ بِهِ مَقْضِيَّةٌ أَسْأَلُكَ بِهِ إِذْ لَا شَفِيعَ لِي عِنْدَكَ أَوْثَقُ مِنْهُ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

O my God! I take refuge in You from them in this world and the Hereafter, in my lifetime and after my death. O‟ He who called himself with a Name by which all needs of those who call him by that Name are fulfilled! I ask You by it when there is no one more trustworthy than it to interecede on my behalf near You.I ask You to bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as).

Please do such and such a thing for me. Ask for the fulfillment of your needs until God the Sublime fulfills them
Then say:
Arabic? “O my God! You are praised whether You take me into Paradise or punish me. O‟ He who is Praised from all aspects! Please bestow your blessings on Muhammad and His Progeny (as) and treat me as You please! And You are Praised!

وَ أَنْ تَفْعَلَ بِي كَذَا وَ كَذَا وَ تَسْأَلُ حَاجَتَكَ فَإِنَّهَا تُقْضَى إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى ثُمَّ تَقُولُ

And if you do such-and-such to me and ask your need, it will be fulfilled, God willing, and then you say

اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ أَدْخَلْتَنِي الْجَنَّةَ فَأَنْتَ مَحْمُودٌ وَ إِنْ عَذَّبْتَنِي فَأَنْتَ مَحْمُودٌ يَا مَنْ هُوَ مَحْمُودٌ فِي كُلِّ خِصَالِهِ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ افْعَلْ بِي مَا تَشَاءُ فَأَنْتَ [وَ أَنْتَ‌] مَحْمُودٌ

O God, if You admit me to Paradise, You are praiseworthy, and if You punish me, You are praiseworthy, O He who is praiseworthy in all his qualities, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and grant me success. Do whatever you want for me, for you are [and you are] praiseworthy.

إِلَهِي أَ تُرَاكَ مُعَذِّبِي وَ قَدْ عَفَّرْتُ لَكَ فِي التُّرَابِ خَدِّي أَ تُرَاكَ مُعَذِّبِي وَ حُبُّكَ فِي قَلْبِي أَمَا إِنَّكَ إِنْ فَعَلْتَ ذَلِكَ بِي جَمَعْتَ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَ قَوْمٍ طَالَ مَا عَادَيْتُهُمْ فِيكَ

O My God, do You see me as my tormentor, when I have covered my cheeks for you in the dust? do you see me as my tormentor, with your love in my heart? But if you did that to me, you would bring me together with a people who have been around for a long time. I fulfilled them in you

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِكُلِّ اسْمٍ هُوَ لَكَ يَحِقُّ عَلَيْكَ فِيهِ الْإِجَابَةُ لِلدُّعَاءِ إِذَا دُعِيتَ بِهِ

Oh God, I ask you by every name that is yours by which you are entitled to answer the supplication if you are called by it.

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِحَقِّ كُلِّ ذِي حَقٍّ عَلَيْكَ وَ بِحَقِّكَ عَلَى جَمِيعِ مَنْ هُوَ دُونَكَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَ رَسُولِكَ وَ آلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ وَ مَنْ أَرَادَنِي أَوْ أَرَادَ أَحَداً مِنْ إِخْوَانِي بِسُوءٍ فَخُذْ بِسَمْعِهِ وَ بَصَرِهِ وَ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَ مِنْ خَلْفِهِ وَ امْنَعْنِي مِنْهُ بِحَوْلِكَ وَ قُوَّتِكَ

And I ask You, by the right of everyone who has a right over you, and by your right over everyone who is below you, to bless Muhammad, your servant and your messenger, and his pure family, and whoever desires me. If he intends harm against one of my brothers, then seize him by his hearing and his sight and in front of him and behind him, and protect me from him with your power and strength.

اللَّهُمَّ مَا غَابَ عَنِّي مِنْ أَمْرِي أَوْ حَضَرَنِي وَ لَمْ يَنْطِقْ بِهِ لِسَانِي

O God, whatever matter has escaped me or is present to me and my tongue has not spoken it.

وَ لَمْ تَبْلُغْهُ مَسْأَلَتِي أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّي فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَصْلِحْهُ لِي وَ سَهِّلْهُ

And my question did not reach him, you know it better than me, so bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad and correct it for me and make it easy for me.

يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ‌ رَبَّنا لا تُؤاخِذْنا إِنْ نَسِينا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنا رَبَّنا وَ لا تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنا إِصْراً كَما حَمَلْتَهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِنا رَبَّنا وَ لا تُحَمِّلْنا ما لا طاقَةَ لَنا بِهِ وَ اعْفُ عَنَّا

O Lord of the worlds, our Lord, do not hold us accountable if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord, and do not place upon us a burden as You placed upon those before us. Our Lord, and do not impose upon us that which we cannot bear. We have it and pardon us

وَ اغْفِرْ لَنا وَ ارْحَمْنا أَنْتَ مَوْلانا فَانْصُرْنا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكافِرِينَ‌ مَا ذَا عَلَيْكَ يَا رَبِّ لَوْ أَرْضَيْتَ عَنِّي كُلَّ مَنْ لَهُ قِبَلِي تَبِعَةٌ وَ أَدْخَلْتَنِي الْجَنَّةَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ وَ غَفَرْتَ لِي ذُنُوبِي فَإِنَّ مَغْفِرَتَكَ لِلْخَاطِئِينَ وَ أَنَا مِنْهُمْ فَاغْفِرْ لِي خَطَائِي يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ‌

And forgive us and have mercy on us, You are our Lord, so give us victory over the disbelieving people. What would be the matter with you, O Lord, if You were to be satisfied with me, and enter Grant me Paradise with your mercy and forgive me my sins, for your forgiveness is for sinners and I am one of them, so forgive me my sins, O Lord of the worlds.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ تَحْلُمُ عَنِ الْمُذْنِبِينَ وَ تَعْفُو عَنِ الْخَاطِئِينَ وَ أَنَا عَبْدُكَ الْخَاطِئُ الْمُذْنِبُ الْحَسِيرُ الشَّقِيُّ الَّذِي قَدْ أَفْزَعَتْنِي ذُنُوبِي

Oh God, you forgive sinners and pardon sinners, and I am your sinful, sinful, miserable, wretched servant, whose sins have frightened me.

وَ أَوْثَقَتْنِي [أَوْبَقَتْنِي‌] خَطَايَايَ وَ لَمْ أَجِدْ لَهُمَا سَادّاً وَ لَا غَافِراً غَيْرَكَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَ الْإِكْرَامِ

And You made me afflicted with my sins, and I found no protector or forgiver of them except You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honour.

إِلَهِي اسْتَعْبَدَتْنِي الدُّنْيَا وَ اسْتَخْدَمَتْنِي فَصِرْتُ حَيْرَانَ بَيْنَ أَطْبَاقِهَا فَيَا مَنْ أَحْصَى الْقَلِيلَ فَشَكَرَهُ

My God, the world has enslaved me and used me, so I became confused among its dishes. Oh, who counted a little and thanked it.

وَ تَجَاوَزَ عَنِ الْكَثِيرِ فَغَفَرَهُ بَعْدَ أَنْ سَتَرَهُ ضَاعِفْ لِيَ الْقَلِيلَ فِي طَاعَتِكَ وَ تَقَبَّلْهُ

And he transgressed from much and forgave it after you covered it. Double the little for me in your obedience and accept it.

وَ تَجَاوَزْ عَنِ الْكَثِيرِ فِي مَعْصِيَتِكَ فَاغْفِرْهُ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الْعَظِيمَ إِلَّا الْعَظِيمُ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

And transgress from much in your disobedience, so forgive him, for only the great forgives the great, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَعِنِّي عَلَى صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ وَ صِيَامِ النَّهَارِ وَ ارْزُقْنِي مِنَ الْوَرَعِ مَا يَحْجُزُنِي عَنْ مَعَاصِيكَ وَ اجْعَلْ عِبَادَاتِي لَكَ أَيَّامَ حَيَاتِي

O my God! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and His Progeny (as) and help me regarding praying at night and fasting in the daytime. O‟ God! Please bless me with piety that shields me from committing acts of Your Disobedience. Please let my acts of worship be for You during my life.

وَ اسْتَعْمِلْنِي أَيَّامَ عُمُرِي بِعَمَلٍ تَرْضَى بِهِ عَنِّي وَ زَوِّدْنِي مِنَ الدُّنْيَا التَّقْوَى وَ اجْعَلْ لِي فِي لِقَائِكَ خَلَفاً مِنْ جَمِيعِ الدُّنْيَا وَ اجْعَلْ مَا بَقِيَ مِنْ عُمُرِي دَرَكاً لِمَا مَضَى مِنْ أَجَلِي أَيْقَنْتُ أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ

Please engage me in doing things that please You during my lifetime, and bless me with more piety in the world. Please instead of all this world let me meet with You. Please let me make up for the part of my life that has passed during the rest of my lifetime. I know for sure that You are Most Compassionate, Most Merciful at times of forgiveness and mercy,

فِي مَوْضِعِ الْعَفْوِ وَ الرَّحْمَةِ وَ أَشَدُّ الْمُعَاقِبِينَ فِي مَوْضِعِ النَّكَالِ وَ النَّقِمَةِ وَ أَعْظَمُ الْمُتَجَبِّرِينَ فِي مَوْضِعِ الْكِبْرِيَاءِ وَ الْعَظَمَةِ فَاسْمَعْ يَا سَمِيعُ مِدْحَتِي

In the place of pardon and mercy, and the harshest of punishers in the place of punishment and vengeance, and the greatest of the arrogant in the place of pride and greatness, so listen to me. Hear my praise

وَ أَجِبْ يَا رَحِيمُ دَعْوَتِي وَ أَقِلْ يَا غَفُورُ عَثْرَتِي فَكَمْ يَا إِلَهِي مِنْ كُرْبَةٍ قَدْ فَرَّجْتَهَا

And answer my supplication, O Most Merciful, Forgiving, my stumble. O my God, how many distresses have You relieved?

وَ غَمْرَةٍ قَدْ كَشَفْتَهَا وَ عَثْرَةٍ قَدْ أَقَلْتَهَا وَ رَحْمَةٍ قَدْ نَشَرْتَهَا

And an affliction that You have uncovered, and an obstacle that You have removed, and a mercy that You have spread.

وَ حَلْقَةِ بَلَاءٍ قَدْ فَكَكْتَهَا الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي هَدانا لِهذا وَ ما كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِيَ لَوْ لا أَنْ هَدانَا اللَّهُ‌

And the cycle of affliction has been broken. Praise be to God, who guided us to this. We would not have been guided, had God not guided us.

اللَّهُمَّ وَ إِنِّي أُشْهِدُكَ وَ كَفَى بِكَ شَهِيداً فَاشْهَدْ لِي بِأَنِّي أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ رَبِّي

O God, and I bear witness to you, and you are sufficient as a witness, so bear witness for me that I bear witness that you are God, there is no god but you, my Lord.

وَ أَنَّ مُحَمَّداً رَسُولَكَ نَبِيِّي وَ أَنَّ الدِّينَ الَّذِي شَرَعْتَ لَهُ دِينِي وَ أَنَّ الْكِتَابَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ عَلَيْهِ كِتَابِي

And Muhammad is your Messenger, my Prophet, and that the religion for which you have legislated is my religion, and that the Book for which you have revealed is my book.

وَ أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ إِمَامِي وَ أَنَّ الْأَئِمَّةَ مِنْ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَئِمَّتِي

And Ali bin Abi Talib is my Imam, and the Imams are from the family of Muhammad, may your blessings be upon him and upon them are my imams.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُشْهِدُكَ وَ كَفَى بِكَ شَهِيداً فَاشْهَدْ لِي بِأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ الْمُنْعِمُ عَلَيَّ لَا غَيْرُكَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ بِنِعْمَتِكَ تُتِمُّ الصَّالِحَاتِ

O God, I bear witness to you, and you are sufficient as a witness, so bear witness to me that you are God who has bestowed upon me and no one else, praise be to you, by your grace you complete good deeds.

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ وَ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ وَ تَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ وَ تَعَالَى وَ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ وَ لَا مَلْجَأَ وَ لَا مَنْجَى مِنَ اللَّهِ إِلَّا إِلَيْهِ عَدَدَ الشَّفْعِ وَ الْوَتْرِ وَ عَدَدَ كَلِمَاتِ رَبِّيَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ الْمُبَارَكَاتِ صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَ بَلَّغَ الْمُرْسَلُونَ وَ نَحْنُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ مِنَ الشَّاهِدَيْنِ

Translation?

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اجْعَلِ النُّورَ فِي بَصَرِي وَ النَّصِيحَةَ فِي صَدْرِي وَ ذِكْرَكَ بِاللَّيْلِ وَ النَّهَارِ عَلَى لِسَانِي وَ مِنْ طَيِّبِ رِزْقِكَ الْحَلَالِ غَيْرِ مَمْنُونٍ وَ لَا مَحْظُورٍ فَارْزُقْنِي

O God, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and put light in my sight and soundness in my chest, and remembrance of You night and day on my tongue, and of the goodness of Your lawful provision without Grateful and not forbidden, so grant me

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ الْمَعِيشَةِ مَعِيشَةً أَقْوَى بِهَا عَلَى جَمِيعِ حَاجَاتِي وَ أَتَوَسَّلُ بِهَا فِي الْحَيَاةِ إِلَى آخِرَتِي مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ تُتْرِفَنِي فِيهَا فَأَشْقَى وَ أَوْسِعْ عَلَيَّ مِنْ حَلَالِ رِزْقِكَ

O God, I ask you for a good life, a life that will give me strength to meet all my needs, and I beg for it in life until my afterlife, without you letting me enjoy it. wretched and generous to me than what your provision has permitted

وَأَفِضْ عَلَيَّ مِنْ سَيْبِ فَضْلِكَ نِعْمَةً مِنْكَ سَابِغَةً وَ عَطَاءً غَيْرَ مَمْنُونٍ وَ لَا تَشْغَلْنِي فِيهَا عَنْ شُكْرِ نِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ بِإِكْثَارٍ مِنْهَا فَتُلْهِيَنِي عَجَائِبُ بَهْجَتِهِ وَ تَفْتِنَنِي زَهَرَاتُ زِينَتِهِ وَ لَا بِإِقْلَالٍ مِنْهَا فَيَقْصُرَ بِعَمَلِي كَدُّهُ وَ يَمْلَأَ صَدْرِي هَمُّهُ بَلْ

And bestow upon me, from Your lavish bounty, an abundant blessing from You and an indefinite gift, and do not distract me therein from being thankful for Your blessings upon me by multiplying them. Let me be captivated by the wonders of His joy, and let the flowers of His adornment fascinate me, and not by any less of them, so that He shortens my toil, and fills my chest with His concern.

أَعْطِنِي مِنْ ذَلِكَ غِنًى عَنْ شِرَارِ خَلْقِكَ وَ بَلَاغاً أَنَالُ بِهِ رِضْوَانَكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

Please grant me immunity from the evils of Your creatures so that I may attain Your Pleasure. O‟ the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ الدُّنْيَا وَ [مِنْ‌] شَرِّ أَهْلِهَا وَ شَرِّ مَا فِيهَا وَ لَا تَجْعَلِ الدُّنْيَا عَلَيَّ سِجْناً وَ لَا تَجْعَلْ فِرَاقَهَا لِي حُزْناً أَجِرْنِي مِنْ فِتْنَتِهَا وَ اجْعَلْ عَمَلِي فِيهَا مَقْبُولًا وَ سَعْيِي فِيهَا مَشْكُوراً حَتَّى أَصِلَ بِذَلِكَ إِلَى دَارِ الْحَيَوَانِ وَ مَسَاكِنِ الْأَخْيَارِ

O my God! I take refuge in You from the evils of this world, its residents and all that is in it. Please do not turn this world into a prison for me and do not make departure from it as a source of grief for me. Save me from its sedition. Please make my deeds in it accepted and let my efforts in it be appreciated so that I may reach the House of Living and the Home of the Good people by this.

اللَّهُمَّ وَ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ أَزْلِهَا وَ زِلْزَالِهَا وَ سَطَوَاتِ سُلْطَانِهَا وَ مِنْ شَرِّ شَيَاطِينِهَا

O my God! I take refuge in You from its hardships, earthquakes, wrath of its rulers, evil of its devils and oppression of the oppressors!

وَ بَغْيِ مَنْ بَغَى عَلَيَّ فِيهَا فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ وَ اعْصِمْنِي بِالسَّكِينَةِ وَ أَلْبِسْنِي دِرْعَكَ الْحَصِينَةَ

And whoever transgresses against me in it, bless Muhammad and his family, protect me with peace, and clothe me with your strong armor.

وَ أَجِنَّنِي فِي سِتْرِكَ الْوَاقِي وَ أَصْلِحْ لِي حَالِي وَ بَارِكْ لِي فِي أَهْلِي وَ وَلَدِي وَ مَالِي

Protect me with tranquility and bless me with Your Impregnable Protective Covering, and take me under Your Protecting Cover, and improve my conditions. Please bless my wife, children and wealth for me.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ وَ طَهِّرْ قَلْبِي وَ جَسَدِي وَ زَكِّ عَمَلِي وَ اقْبَلْ سَعْيِي وَ اجْعَلْ مَا عِنْدَكَ خَيْراً لِي

O my God! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as), cleanse my heart and my body, purify my deeds, accept my efforts, and let some of the good that is near You be for me.

سَيِّدِي أَنَا مِنْ حُبِّكَ جَائِعٌ لَا أَشْبَعُ أَنَا مِنْ حُبِّكَ ظَمْآنُ لَا أَرْوَى وَا شَوْقَاهْ إِلَى مَنْ يَرَانِي وَ لَا أَرَاهُ يَا حَبِيبَ مَنْ تَحَبَّبَ إِلَيْهِ يَا قُرَّةَ عَيْنِ مَنْ لَاذَ بِهِ وَ انْقَطَعَ إِلَيْهِ قَدْ تَرَى وَحْدَتِي مِنَ الْآدَمِيِّينَ وَ وَحْشَتِي فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ وَ اغْفِرْ لِي وَ آنِسْ وَحْشَتِي وَ ارْحَمْ وَحْدَتِي وَ غُرْبَتِي

Translation?

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَالِمٌ بِحَوَائِجِي غَيْرُ مُعَلَّمٍ وَاسِعٌ لَهَا غَيْرُ مُتَكَلِّفٍ

Oh God, You are All-Knowing of my needs, You are All-Aware of them, You are not burdensome.

فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ وَ افْعَلْ بِي مَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّي مِنْ أَمْرِ دُنْيَايَ وَ آخِرَتِي

So bless Muhammad and his family and do to me whatever you know better than me about the affairs of this world and the hereafter.

اللَّهُمَّ عَظُمَ الذَّنْبُ مِنْ عَبْدِكَ فَلْيَحْسُنِ الْعَفْوُ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ يَا أَهْلَ التَّقْوَى وَ أَهْلَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ

O my God! Sins of Your servant are many but Your Forgiveness can serve me well. O‟ Lord of Righteousness and Lord of Forgiveness!

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ عَفْوَكَ عَنْ ذَنْبِي وَ تَجَاوُزَكَ عَنْ خَطِيئَتِي وَ صَفْحَكَ عَنْ ظُلْمِي وَ سَتْرَكَ عَلَى قَبِيحِ عَمَلِي

O my God, grant me your pardon for my sin, forgive my sin, pardon my injustice, and protect me from the ugliness of my deeds.

وَ حِلْمَكَ عَنْ كَبِيرِ جُرْمِي عِنْدَ مَا كَانَ مِنْ خَطَئِي وَ عَمْدِي أَطْمَعَنِي فِي أَنْ أَسْأَلَكَ مَا لَا أَسْتَوْجِبُهُ مِنْكَ الَّذِي رَزَقْتَنِي مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ

nd show forebearance despite my many transgressions committed willfully or negligently, I am tempted to ask You for what I do not deserve. You give me the daily bread by Your Mercy,

وَ أَرَيْتَنِي مِنْ قُدْرَتِكَ وَ عَرَّفْتَنِي مِنْ إِجَابَتِكَ فَصِرْتُ أَدْعُوكَ آمِناً وَ أَسْأَلُكَ مُسْتَأْنِساً لَا خَائِفاً

show me what is suitable for me by Your Power and let me know of Your Acceptance of my prayers, I persist in calling out while believing in You, and I invoke You talking familiarly, not afraid, or shy, but assured of Your Love and Kindness whenever I turn to You. However, even if there is a short delay,

وَ لَا وَجِلًا مُدِلًّا عَلَيْكَ فِيمَا قَصَدْتُ فِيهِ إِلَيْكَ فَإِنْ أَبْطَأَ عَنِّي عَتَبْتُ عَلَيْكَ بِجَهْلِي

And I have no shame in pointing out to you what I intended for you, for if he neglects to do so,I blame You out of my ignorance.

وَ لَعَلَّ الَّذِي أَبْطَأَ عَنِّي هُوَ خَيْرٌ لِي لِعِلْمِكَ بِعَاقِبَةِ الْأُمُورِ فَلَمْ أَرَ مَوْلًى كَرِيماً أَصْبَرَ عَلَى عَبْدٍ لَئِيمٍ مِنْكَ عَلَيَّ

Perhaps the one who delayed my actions is better for me because of your knowledge of the outcome of matters, for I have never seen a generous master more patient with a mean servant than you are to me.

يَا رَبِّ إِنَّكَ تَدْعُونِي فَأُوَلِّي عَنْكَ

O‟ Lord! I know of no more generous master than You so patient with dissatisfied servants like me.

وَ تَتَحَبَّبُ إِلَيَّ فَأَتَبَغَّضُ إِلَيْكَ وَ تَتَوَدَّدُ إِلَيَّ فَلَا أَقْبَلُ مِنْكَ كَأَنَّ لِيَ التَّطَوُّلَ عَلَيْكَ

You call me but I turn away from You. You act friendly with me, but I am aggressive with You. You are friends with me, but I do not accept it from you as if I have favored You.

وَ لَمْ يَمْنَعْكَ‌ ذَلِكَ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ لِي وَ الْإِحْسَانِ إِلَيَّ وَ التَّفَضُّلِ عَلَيَّ بِجُودِكَ وَ كَرَمِكَ

This does not prevent You from bestowing Your Mercy and Kindness on me and bestowing favors on me out of Your Generosity and Kindness.

فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ وَ ارْحَمْ عَبْدَكَ الْجَاهِلَ وَ عُدْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَضْلِ إِحْسَانِكَ إِنَّكَ جَوَادٌ كَرِيمُ أَيْ جَوَادُ أَيْ كَرِيمُ ثُمَّ تَقُولُ‌

Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as), and show Mercy on Your ignorant servant and forgive him by Your Nobility and Kindness for indeed You are Benevolent and Kind.‟ ”

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ‌ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ بِسْمِ عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ بِسْمِ مَنْ لَيْسَ فِي وَحْدَانِيَّتِهِ شَكٌّ وَ لَا رَيْبٌ بِسْمِ مَنْ لَا فَوْتَ عَلَيْهِ وَ لَا رَغْبَةَ إِلَّا إِلَيْهِ

Then say: “In the Name of God, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful. In the Name of God. In the Name of God. In the Name of the Knower of all that is hidden! In the Name of Him in whose Oneness there is no doubt. In the Name of Him from whom nothing is diminished and there exist no inclinations but to Him.

بِسْمِ الْمَعْلُومِ غَيْرِ الْمَحْدُودِ وَ الْمَعْرُوفِ غَيْرِ الْمَوْصُوفِ بِسْمِ مَنْ أَمَاتَ وَ أَحْيَا بِسْمِ مَنْ لَهُ‌ الْآخِرَةُ وَ الْأُولى‌

In the Name of the known, unlimited, famous but undescribable. In the Name of Him who causes to die and gives life. In the Name of Him who possesses the Hereafter and this world.

بِسْمِ الْعَزِيزِ الْأَعَزِّ بِسْمِ الْجَلِيلِ الْأَجَلِّ بِسْمِ الْمَحْمُودِ غَيْرِ الْمَحْدُودِ الْمُسْتَحِقِّ لَهُمَا [لَهُ‌] عَلَى السَّرَّاءِ وَ الضَّرَّاءِ

In the Name of the most Exalted in Might! In the Name of the Most Majestic! In the Name of the one Praised without any limits who deserves it when we are happy or sad!

بِسْمِ الْمَذْكُورِ فِي الشِّدَّةِ وَ الرَّخَاءِ بِسْمِ الْمُهَيْمِنِ الْجَبَّارِ بِسْمِ الْحَنَّانِ الْمَنَّانِ

In the Name mentioned at times of hardship and ease. In the Name of the Guardian, the Irresistible! In the Name of the Giver, the Benign!

بِسْمِ الْعَزِيزِ مِنْ غَيْرِ تَعَزُّزٍ وَ الْقَدِيرِ مِنْ غَيْرِ تَقَدُّرٍ بِسْمِ مَنْ لَمْ يَزَلْ وَ لَا يَزُولُ

In the Name of the Exalted in Might who does not abuse His Might and Power! In the Name of He who has always been and what does not end.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي‌ لا إِلهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ‌ الَّذِي‌ لا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَ لا نَوْمٌ‌ ثُمَّ تَقُولُ

In the Name of God. There is no God but Him. He is the Self-Subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep.” Then say: “

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ وَ أَصْلِحْنِي قَبْلَ الْمَوْتِ وَ ارْحَمْنِي عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ وَ اغْفِرْ لِي بَعْدَ الْمَوْتِ

O my God! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as); improve me before death, have mercy upon me during death and forgive me after death.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ وَ احْطُطْ عَنَّا أَوْزَارَنَا بِالرَّحْمَةِ وَ ارْجِعْ بِمَشِيَّتِنَا [بِمُسِيئِنَا] [وَ أَرْجِعْ مُسِيئَنَا] إِلَى التَّوْبَةِ

O my God! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as) and wipe out our sins by Mercy and turn our sins to repentance.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ ذُنُوبِي قَدْ كَثُرَتْ وَ جَلَّتْ عَنِ الصِّفَةِ وَ إِنَّهَا صَغِيرَةٌ فِي جَنْبِ عَفْوِكَ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ وَ اعْفُ عَنِّي

O my God! My sins have accumulated so much that I fear to describe them, but they are small compared to Your Pardon!O my God! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as); and pardon me.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كُنْتَ ابْتَلَيْتَنِي فَصَبِّرْنِي وَ الْعَافِيَةُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ

O my God! If You make me suffer, give me patience but I prefer to be healthy.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ وَ حَسِّنْ ظَنِّي بِكَ وَ حَقِّقْهُ وَ بَصِّرْ فِعْلِي وَ أَعْطِنِي مِنْ عَفْوِكَ بِمِقْدَارِ أَمَلِي وَ لَا تُجَازِنِي بِسُوءِ عَمَلِي فَتُهْلِكَنِي فَإِنَّ كَرَمَكَ يَجِلُّ عَنْ مُجَازَاتِ مَنْ أَذْنَبَ وَ قَصَّرَ وَ عَانَدَ وَ أَتَاكَ عَائِذاً بِفَضْلِكَ هَارِباً مِنْكَ إِلَيْكَ مُتَنَجِّزاً [مُسْتَجِيراً بِمَا] [مُسْتَنْجِزاً] مَا وَعَدْتَ مِنَ الصَّفْحِ عَمَّنْ أَحْسَنَ بِكَ ظَنّاً

O my God! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as) and change my opinion of You into a good one and make it realized. Please combine my deeds with insight and bless me with Your Pardon as much as I desire, and do not punish me for my wrongdoings since that will destroy me.
Indeed Your Kindness is beyond punishing one who has sinned, failed and been enmious - but has taken refuge in Your Nobility, fled from You to You, hoping in Your Promise to forgive those who possess a good opinion of You.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ وَ اغْفِرْ لِي وَ الْجِلْدُ بَارِدٌ [بَارِكٌ‌] وَ النَّفَسُ دَائِرٌ وَ اللِّسَانُ مُنْطَلِقٌ وَ الصُّحُفُ مُنَشَّرَةٌ وَ الْأَقْلَامُ جَارِيَةٌ وَ التَّوْبَةُ مَقْبُولَةٌ وَ التَّضَرُّعُ مَرْجُوٌّ قَبْلَ أَنْ لَا أَقْدِرَ عَلَى اسْتِغْفَارِكَ حِينَ يَفْنَى الْأَجَلُ وَ يَنْقَطِعُ الْعَمَلُ

O my God! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as) and forgive me while my skin is fresh and I breathe, I speak, my Book of Deeds is open, the pens are recording, repentance is accepted, there is hope in crying, before I no longer can ask You for forgiveness when my life ends and my deeds terminate.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ وَ تَوَلَّنَا وَ لَا تُوَلِّنَا غَيْرَكَ أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ اسْتِغْفَاراً لَا يَقْدِرُ قَدْرَهُ وَ لَا يَنْظُرُ أَمَدَهُ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْمُسْتَغْفَرُ بِهِ وَ لَا يَدْرِي مَا وَرَاءَهُ وَ لَا وَرَاءَ مَا وَرَاءَهُ وَ الْمُرَادُ بِهِ أَحَدٌ سِوَاهُ

O my God! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as). Take care of our affairs and do not trust us to others. I ask God for forgiveness so much that no one but He can measure, and no one but Him can look at its end, understand what is beyond it and what is meant by it.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا وَعَدْتُكَ مِنْ نَفْسِي ثُمَّ أَخْلَفْتُكَ وَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ عُدْتُ فِيهِ وَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِكُلِّ خَيْرٍ أَرَدْتُ بِهِ وَجْهَكَ ثُمَّ خَالَطَنِي فِيهِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ وَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِكُلِّ نِعْمَةٍ أَنْعَمْتَ بِهَا عَلَيَّ ثُمَّ قَوِيتُ بِهَا عَلَى مَعْصِيَتِكَ

O my God! I ask You to forgive me for all the promises I made but then I broke them. I ask You to forgive what I repented to You and then returned to. I ask You to forgive all the good deeds that I decided to do for Your Sake but then my intentions were mixed with things other than You. I ask You to forgive me for all the blessings that You bestowed me but I used them to insist on doing acts of Your Disobedience.”.

10.Syed Baqi first Night dua

دعاء آخر في اليوم الأول منه من مصباح السيد بن باقي رحمه الله‌

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ يَا مَنْ‌ لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْ‌ءٌ وَ

O Allah, I ask You, O He to whom there is no comparable,

يَا مَنْ لَيْسَ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ الْعُلَى وَ لَا فِي الْأَرَضِينَ السُّفْلَى

and O He who is not in the high heavens nor in the lower earths,

وَ لَا فَوْقَهُنَّ وَ لَا تَحْتَهُنَّ وَ لَا بَيْنَهُنَّ

nor above them, nor below them, nor between them,

إِلَهٌ يُعْبَدُ غَيْرُكَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ

there is no deity worshipped other than You alone, no partner to You.

يَا وَاحِدُ بِغَيْرِ تَشْبِيهٍ يَا بَاقِياً إِلَى غَيْرِ غَايَةٍ

O Unique without comparison, O Everlasting without end,

يَا جَبَّاراً فِي سُلْطَانِهِ يَا كَبِيراً فِي كِبْرِيَائِهِ

O Dominant in His sovereignty, O Great in His majesty,

يَا قُدُّوساً فِي سَمَائِهِ [فِي أَسْمَائِهِ‌] يَا كَرِيماً فِي عَطَائِهِ

O Holy in His heaven [in His names], O Generous in His giving,

يَا جَلِيلًا فِي بَهَائِهِ يَا حَمِيداً فِي فَعَالِهِ

O Majestic in His splendor, O Praiseworthy in His deeds,

يَا مَلِكاً فِي ابْتِدَائِهِ وَ اقْتِدَارِهِ يَا عَالِماً فِي إِحْصَائِهِ

O King in His initiation and power, O Knower in His account,

يَا غَالِباً فِي ارْتِفَاعِهِ يَا عَزِيزاً فِي امْتِنَاعِهِ

O Dominant in His ascendancy, O Mighty in His prevention,

يَا جَوَاداً فِي إِفْضَالِهِ يَا ذَا السُّلْطَانِ الشَّامِخِ

O Generous in His favor, O Possessor of the lofty sovereignty,

يَا ذَا الْعِزِّ الْبَاذِخِ يَا ذَا الْمُلْكِ الْفَاخِرِ

O Possessor of the lavish dignity, O Possessor of the glorious kingdom,

يَا ذَا الْبَهَاءِ الزَّاهِرِيَا مَنْ بِهِ يُحَسَّنُ الظُّنُونُ

O Possessor of the radiant splendor, O He through whom good assumptions are made,

يَا ذَا الْجُودِ وَ الْكَرَمِ وَ الْمَنِّ وَ الْكِبْرِيَاءِ يَا بَاقِياً لَا يَمُوتُ

O Possessor of generosity, nobility, favor, and grandeur, O Everlasting who does not die,

يَا صَمَداً لَا يَطْعَمُ يَا قَيُّوماً لَا يَنَامُ

O Eternal who does not eat, O Sustainer who does not sleep,

يَا بَصِيراً لَا يَرْتَابُ يَا حَافِظاً لَا يَجْهَلُ

O Seeing who does not doubt, O Guardian who does not ignore,

يَا وَاسِعاً لَا يُتَكَلَّفُ يَا غَنِيّاً لَا يَفْتَقِرُ

O Expansive who does not exert, O Wealthy who does not need,

يَا مَنِيعاً لَا يُرَامُ يَا عَزِيزاً لَا يُضَامُ

O Impregnable who cannot be attacked, O Mighty who is not wronged,

يَا قَوِيّاً لَا يُغْلَبُ يَا جَبَّاراً لَا يُكَلَّمُ

O Strong who is not overcome, O Compeller who is not spoken to,

يَا مُحْتَجِباً لَا يُرَى يَا جَبَّارَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ

O Hidden who is not seen, O Compeller of the heavens and the earth,

يَا نُورَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ يَا بَدِيعَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ

O Light of the heavens and the earth, O Originator of the heavens and the earth,

يَا أَكْرَمَ الْأَكْرَمِينَ يَا أَجْوَدَ الْأَجْوَدَيْنِ

O Most Generous of the generous, O Most Giving of the givers,

يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ يَا غِيَاثَ الْمُسْتَغِيثِينَ

O Most Merciful of the merciful, O Relief of those seeking relief,

يَا وَلِيَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَا عِزَّ النَّاصِرِينَ وَ الذَّاكِرِينَ

O Guardian of the believers, O Honor of those giving victory and those remembering,

يَا سَبِيلَ الصَّالِحِينَ يَا مُفَرِّجاً عَنِ الْمَكْرُوبِينَ

O Way of the righteous, O Reliever of the distressed,

يَا كَثِيرَ الرَّاغِبِينَ إِلَيْهِ يَا غَوْثَ الْمَلْهُوفِينَ

O Abundantly sought after, O Refuge of the distraught,

يَا خَيْرَ مَنْ دَعَاهُ الدَّاعُونَ

O Best of those called upon.

أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

I ask You to send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad

وَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ عَبْدَكَ مِنْ أَعْظَمِ عِبَادِكَ الْيَوْمَ فِيمَا تَقْسِمُهُ مِنْ نُورٍ تَهْدِي بِهِ

and to make Your servant among the greatest of Your servants today in what You distribute of light by which You guide,

وَ رَحْمَةٍ تَنْشُرُهَا وَ رِزْقٍ تَبْسُطُهُ

and mercy which You spread, and provision You extend,

وَ ضُرٍّ تَكْشِفُهُ وَ بَلَاءٍ تَصْرِفُهُ

and harm You unveil, and affliction You avert,

وَ فِتْنَةٍ تَكُفُّهَا وَ ثَوَابٍ تَكْتُبُهُ وَ أَمْرٍ تُسَهِّلُهُ‌

and temptation You prevent, and reward You write, and matter You facilitate.

إِنَّكَ عَلى‌ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ قَدِيرٌ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.

Indeed, You are over all things competent, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
