Supplication 124- Day 1 of the month from Al-Sahifa e Alaviya
دعاؤه في اول يوم من الشهر
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحيمِ، اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمينَ، الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحيمِ، مالِكِ يَوْمِ الدّينِ، اِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَ اِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعينُ، اِهْدِنَا الصِّراطَ الْمُسْتَقيمَ، صِراطَ الَّذينَ اَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَ لاَ الضَّالّينَ
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذي خَلَقَ السَّماواتِ وَ اْلاَرْضَ وَ جَعَلَ الظُّلُماتِ وَ النُّورَ، ثُمَّ الَّذينَ كَفَرُوا بِرَبِّهِمْ يَعْدِلُونَ،
bismil laahir rahmaanir raheem. al-hamdo lillaahil lazee khalaqas samaawaate wal arza wa ja-a’laz zolomaate wan noora, summal lazeena kafaroo berabbehim ya’deloon.
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
“All praise be to Allah who created the heavens and the earth and Ordained (put therein) darkness and light; yet those who disbelieve set up equals with their Lord.
هُوَ الَّذي خَلَقَكُمْ مِنْ طينٍ ثُمَّ قَضى اَجَلاً وَ اَجَلٌ مُسَمَّى عِنْدَهُ ثُمَّ اَنْتُمْ تَمْتَرُونَ،
howal lazee khalaqakum min teenin summa qazaa ajalaa, wa ajalum mosamman i’ndahu summa antum tamtaroon.
He it is who created you of clay, then decreed a term (of life for you) –and a term determined is with Him; even then you doubt.
وَ هُوَ اللَّهُ فِي السَّماواتِ وَ فِي الْاَرْضِ يَعْلَمُ سِرَّكُمْ وَ جَهْرَكُمْ وَ يَعْلَمُ ما تَكْسِبُونَ.
wa howal laaho fis samaawaate wa fil arz, ya’lamo sirrakum wa jahrakum wa ya’lamo maa takseboon.
He is Allah in the heavens and in the earth; He knows what you hide and what you disclose, and He knows what you earn (of good and evil)” (6:1-3)
.
وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذي نَجَّانا مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمينَ، وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذي فَضَّلَنا عَلى كَثيرٍ مِنْ عِبادِهِ الْمُؤْمِنينَ.
wal hamdo lillaahil lazee najjaanaa menal qawmiz zaalemeen.
wal hamdo lillaahil lazee fazzalanaa a’laa kaseerim min e’baadehil moameneen.
And “Praise be to Allah who has delivered us from the unjust people” (23:28);
And “Praise be to Allah who has preferred us above many of His believing servants” (27:15);
وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذي وَهَبَ لي عَلَى الْكِبَرِ اِسْماعيلَ وَ اِسْحاقَ اِنَّ رَبّي لَسَميعُ الدُّعاءِ،
wal hamdo lillaahil lazee wahaba lee a’lal kebare ismaa-e’ela wa ishaaq, inna rabbee la-samee-u’d do-a’aa.
And “Praise be to Allah who has given me Isma’il and Ishaq in spite of my old age; verily my Lord hears the prayer.
رَبِّ اجْعَلْني مُقيمَ الصَّلاةِ وَ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتي رَبَّنا وَ تَقَبَّلْ دُعاءِ،
rabbij a’lnee moqeemas salaate wa min zurriyyatee, rabbanaa wa taqabbal do-a’aa.
O my Lord, make me steadfast in prayer, and also some of my offspring.
O Our Lord, accept my prayer.
رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْلي وَ لِوالِدَيَّ وَ لِلْمُؤْمِنينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسابُ،
rabbanagh fir lee wa lewaaledayya wa lilmoameneena yawma yaqoomul hesaab.
O Our Lord, forgive me and my parents, and the believers on the day when the reckoning shall come to pass” (14:39-41)…
فَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ رَبِّ السَّماواتِ وَ رَبِّ الاَرْضِ رَبِّ الْعالَمينَ، وَ لَهُ الْكِبْرِياءُ فِي السَّماواتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ وَ هُوَ الْعَزيزُ الْحَكيمُ.
falillaahil hamdo rabbis samaawaate wa rabbil arze rabbil a’alameen.
wa lahul kibreyaaa-o fis samaawaate wal arz, wa howal a’zeezul hakeem.
“All praise, then be to Allah Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, Lord of the worlds.
His is the greatness in the heavens and the earth: and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise” (45-36-37)
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذي لَهُ ما فِي السَّماواتِ وَ ما فِي الْاَرْضِ وَ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِي الْاخِرَةِ وَ هُوَ الْحَكيمُ الْخَبيرُ، يَعْلَمُ ما يَلِجُ فِي الْاَرْضِ وَ ما يَخْرُجُ مِنْها وَ ما يَنْزِلُ مِنَ السَّماءِ وَ ما يَعْرُجُ فيها وَ هُوَ الرَّحيمُ الْغَفُورُ.
al-hamdo lillaahil lazee lahu maa fis samaawaate wa maa fil arze wa lahul hamdo fil aakherah, wa howal hakeemul khabeer.
ya’lamo maa yalejo fil arze wa maa yakhrojo minhaa wa maa yanzelo menas samaaa-e wa maa ya’rojo feehaa, wa howar raheemul ghafoor.
“Praise be to Allah to whom belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth.
His is the praise in the Hereafter; He is All-wise, All-knowing.
He knows whatsoever goes into the earth and whatsoever comes out of it, whatsoever comes down from heaven, and whatsoever goes up to it, He is Merciful, Forgiving”(34:1-2).
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ فاطِرِ السَّماواتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ جاعِلِ الْمَلائِكَةِ رُسُلاً اُولي اَجْنِحَةٍ مَثْنى وَ ثُلاثَ وَ رُباعَ يَزيدُ فِي الْخَلْقِ ما يَشاءُ اِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ قَديرٌ، ما يَفْتَحِ اللَّهُ للِنَّاسِ مِنْ رَحْمَةٍ فَلا مُمْسِكَ لَها وَ ما يُمْسِكْ فَلا مُرْسِلَ لَهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ وَ هُوَ الْعَزيزُ الْحَكيمُ، يا اَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ هَلْ مِنْ خالِقٍ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ يَرْزُقُكُمْ مِنَ السَّماءِ وَ الْاَرْضِ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ هُو فَاَنّى تُؤْفَكُونَ.
al-hamdo lillaahe faateris samaawate wal arze jaa-e’lil malaa-ekate rosolan oolee ajnehatim masnaa wa solaasa wa roba’, yazeedo fil khalqe maa yashaaa, innal laaha a’laa kulle shay-in qadeer.
maa yaftahil laaho linnaase mir rahmatin falaa mumseka lahaa, wa maa yumsik, falaa mursela lahu mim ba’deh, wa howal a’zeezul hakeem.
yaa ayyohan naasuz koroo ne’matal laahe a’laykum, hal min khaaleqin ghayrul laahe yarzoqokum menas samaaa-e wal arz, laaa elaaha illaa hoo, fa-annaa toafakoon.
“Praise be to Allah, Originator of the heavens and earth, who made the angels messengers having wings two, three and four, He adds what he wills to His creation.
Verily Allah has power over all things.
Whatsoever of mercy Allah may make available to man there is none who can withhold it, and whatsoever He withholds there is none to release it thereafter.
He is All-mighty, All-wise.
O people remember the bounty of Allah granted to you; is there any creator, other than Allah, who gives you sustenance from the heavens and the earth? There is no god but He: whither then are you deviating?” (35:1-3).
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمينَ الْحَىِّ الَّذي لايَمُوتُ، وَ الْقائِمِ الَّذي لا يَتَغَيَّرُ، وَ الدّائِمِ الَّذي لا يَفْنى، وَ الْمَلِكِ الَّذي لا يَزُولُ(1)، وَ الْعَدْلِ الَّذي لا يَغْفُلُ، وَ الْحَكَمِ الَّذي لا يَحيفُ، وَ اللَّطيفِ الَّذي لا يَخْفى عَلَيْهِ شَيْ ءٌ، وَ الْواسِعِ الَّذي لا يُعْجِزُهُ شَيْ ءٌ، وَ الْمُعْطي ما يَشاءُ لِمَنْ يَشاءُ، وَ الْاَوَّلِ الَّذي لا يُسْبَقُ، وَ الاْخِرِ الَّذي لايُدْرَكُ، وَ الظَّاهِرِ الَّذي لَيْسَ فَوْقَهُ شَيْ ءٌ، وَ الْباطِنِ الَّذي لَيْسَ دُونَهُ شَيْ ءٌ، وَ اَحاطَ بِكُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ عِلْماً، وَ اَحْصى كُلَّ شَيْ ءٍ عَدَداً.
al-hamdo lillaahe rabbil a’alameenal hayyil lazee laa yamooto, wal qaaa-emil lazee laa yataghayyrao, wad daaa-emil lazee laa yafnaa, wal malekil lazee laa yazoolo, wal a’dlil lazee laa yaghfolo, wal hakamil lazee yaa yaheefo, wal lateefil lazee laa yakhfaa a’layhe shayun, wal waa-se-i’l lazee laa yo’jezohu shay-un wal mo’tee maa yashaa-o leman yashaa-o, al-awwalul lazee laa yusbaqo, wal aakheril lazee laa yudrako, waz zaaheril lazee laysa fawqahu shay-un, wal baatenil lazee laysa doonahu shay-un, wa ahaata be-kulle shayin i’lman, wa ahshaa kulla shay-in a’dadaa.
“Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds” (1:1), “the Ever living (lord) who does not die.
‘’ (25:58),
the Established Who does not change, the Eternal Who does not perish, the Sovereign Who does not cease to exist, the Just Who is not unmindful, the Judge Who does not act unjustly, the All-Subtle from Whom nothing is hidden, the All-prevailing Whom nothing incapacitates, the Bestower of what He wills on whomsoever He wills, the First Who is not preceded and the Last Who is not overtaken, the Apparent above Whom there is nothing and the Hidden beyond Whom there is nothing and He “.

He has counted everything in numbers” (72:28).
اَللَّهُمَ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِهِ وَ اَنْطِقْ بِدُعائِكَ لِساني، وَ اَنْجِحْ بِهِ طَلِبَتي، وَ اَعْطِني بِهِ حاجَتي، وَ بَلِّغْني فيهِ اَمَلي، وَ قِني بِهِ رَهْبَتي(2)، وَ اَسْبِغْ بِهِ نَعْمائي، وَ اسْتَجِبْ بِهِ دُعائي، وَ زَكِّ بِهِ عَمَلي، تَزْكِيَةً تَرْحَمُ بِها تَضَرُّعي وَ شَكْواىَ، وَ اَسْأَلُكَ اَنْ تَرْحَمَني وَ اَنْ تَرْضى عَنّي وَ تَسْتَجيبَ لي، امين رَبَّ الْعالَمينَ.
allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aalehi, wa atliq bedo- a’a-eka lesaanee, wa anjeh behi talebatee, wa aa’tenee behi haajatee, wa ballighnee feehe amalee, wa qenee behi wa rahbatee, wa asbigh behi na’maa-ee, was tajib behi do-a’aee, wa zakke behi a’malee tazkeyatan tarhamo behaa tazarro-e’e wa shakwaaya, wa asaloka an tarhamanee, wa an tarzaa a’nnee, wa tas-tajeeba lee, aameena rabbal a’alameen.
O Allah, bless Muhammad and his family, and grant me eloquence of speech in calling on You, and accomplish through it my request, grant me through it my need, deliver to me my hope (mentioned) in it, preserve me through it in my fear, make complete through it my blessings, answer through in my prayer, and purify through it my action, a purification through which You have mercy on my humble supplication and my complaint; I ask You to have mercy on me and to be pleased with me and to answer me, Amen, Lord of all Being….
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذي يُنْشِي ءُ السَّحابَ الثِّقالَ، وَ يُسَبِّحُ الرَّعْدُ بِحَمْدِهِ وَ الْمَلائِكَةُ مِنْ خيفَتِهِ، وَ يُرْسِلُ الصَّواعِقَ فَيُصيبُ بِها مَنْ يَشاءُ، وَ هُمْ يُجادِلُونَ فِي اللَّهِ وَ هُوَ شَديدُ الْمِحالِ.
al-hamdo lillaahil lazee yunshe-us sahaabas seqaal.
wa yosabbehur ra’do behamdehi wal malaaekato min kheefateh, wa yursefus sawaae’qa fa-yoseebo behaa many yashaaao wa hum yojaadeloona feel laah, wa howa shadeedul mehaal.
Praise belongs to Allah Who “.

raises the heavy clouds.
The thunder sings His praise, and the angels too, in awe of Him.
He sends thunderbolts, and smites with them whomsoever He wills; yet they dispute concerning Allah, and He is mighty in power” (13:12-13),
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذي لَهُ دَعْوَةُ الْحَقِّ وَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ الْمُبينُ، وَ ما يُدْعي مِنْ دُونِهِ فَهُوَ الْباطِلُ وَ هُوَ الْعَلِي غُّ الْكَبيرُ، اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذي يَتَوَفَّى الْاَنْفُسَ حينَ مَوْتِها وَ الَّتي لَمْ تَمُتْ في مَنامِها فَيُمْسِكُ الَّتي قَضى عَلَيْهَا الْمَوْتَ وَ يُرْسِلُ الْأُخْرى اِلى اَجَلٍ مُسَمَّى، اِنَّ في ذلِكَ لَاياتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ.
al-hamdo lillaahil lazee lahu da’watul haqqe wa howal haqqul mobeeno, wa maa yud-a’a min doonehi fahowal baatelo, wa howal a’liyyul kabeero.
alhamdo lillaahil lazee yatawaffal anfosa heena mawtehaa wal latee lam tamut fee manaamehaa, fayumsekul latee qazaa a’layhal mawta wa yurselul ukhraa elaa ajalim mosammaa, inna fee zaaleka la-aayaatil leqawminy yatafakkaroon.
Praise belongs to Allah, “ .

to Him alone is the true prayer” (13:14) and “.
.
He is the self-evident Truth” (24:25), and that which is called upon “.
.
apart from Him – that is false; and He is the All-High, the All-great” (ref.
31:30)…
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذي وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّماواتِ وَ الْاَرْضَ وَ لا يَؤُدُهُ حِفْظُهُما وَ هُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظيمُ، اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَ الشَّهادَةِ هُوَ الرَّحْمنُ الرَّحيمُ، هُوَ اللَّهُ الَّذي لا اِلهَ إلاَّ هُوَ الْمَلِكُ الْقُدُّوسُ، السَّلامُ الْمُؤْمِنُ، الْمُهَيْمِنُ الْعَزِيزُ الْجَّبارُ الْمُتَكَبِّرُ، سُبْحانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ.
alhamdo lillaahil lazee wase-a’ kursiyyohus samaawaate wal arz, wa laa ya-oodohu hifzohomaa, wa howal a’liyyul a’zeem.
al-hamdo lillaahe a’alemul ghaybe wash shahaadah, howar rahmaanur raheem.
howal laahul lazee laa elaaha illaa hoo, almalekul quddoosus salaamul moamenul mohaymenul a’zeezul jabbaarul motakabber, subhaanal laahe a’mma yushrekoon.
Praise belongs to Allah who “ .
.
takes the souls a the time of their death, and those who do not die (he takes) during their sleep; He withholds those on whom He has decreed death, and sends the others back (to their bodies) for an appointed term.
Verily there are signs in this for those who reflect” (39:42)
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذي لا اِلهِ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْخالِقُ الْبارى ءُ الْمُصَوِّرُ، لَهُ الْاَسْماءُ الْحُسْنى يُسَبِّحُ لَهُ ما فِي السَّماواتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ وَ هُوَ الْعَزيزُ الْحَكيمُ، اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذي لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ صاحِبَةً وَ لا وَلَداً وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ شَريكٌ فِي الْمُلْكِ وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ وَلِيٌّ مِنَ الذُّلِّ وَ كَبِّرْهُ تَكْبيراً.
al-hamdo lillaahil lazee laa elaaha illaa howal khaalequl baare-ul mosawwero lahul asmaaa-ul husnaa, yosabbeho lahu maa fis samaawaate wal arz, wa howal a’zeezul hakeem.
alhamdo lilaahil lazee lam yattakhiz saahebatanw wa laa waladanw wa lam yakul lahu shareekun fil mulke wa lam yakul lahu waliyyum menaz zulle wa kabbirho takbeeraa.
Praise belongs to Allah whose “ .
.
Throne (knowledge) extends over the heavens and earth; the preservation of them does not tire Him; He is the Most high, the Great” (2:255).
Praise belongs to Allah “.
.
the Knower of the unseen and the seen.
He is the Beneficent, the Merciful.
He is Allah; there is no god save He; the King, the All-holy, the Peace loving, the Bestower of conviction, the Guardian, the Ever prevalent, the Supreme, the Great Absolute.
Far too exalted is Allah above what they associate (with Him) (59:22-23).
Praise belongs to Allah, there is no god but He, “.

the Creator, the Maker, the Fashioner.
His are all the Names Most Beautiful.
Whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Him.
He is Ever prevalent, All-wise” (59:24).
“All praise be to Allah, who has not taken (unto Himself) a son, neither has He any partner in the Kingdom, nor has He any helper out of humility”.
And proclaim His greatness by extolling (His glory)” (17:111).
