الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰہِ الَّذِیْ ہُدَانِیْ لِلْاِسْلاَمِ Alhamdu lillahil-ladhi hadani lil-islam
Praise be to Allah, who guided me to Islam,
وَ اَکْرَمَنِیْ بِالْاِیْمَانِ وَ بَصَّرَنِیْ بِالدِّیْنِ Wa akramani bil-iman wa bassarani bid-din
And honored me with faith, and gave me insight into the religion,
وَ شَرَّفَنِیْ بِالْیَقِیْنِ وَ عَرَّفَنِیْ الْحَقَّ الَّذِیْ عَنْہُ یُؤْفَکُوْنَ Wa sharrafani bil-yaqin wa ‘arrafanil-haqqa-ladhi ‘anhu yu’fakun
And ennobled me with certainty, and made me know the Truth from which they are turned away,
وَالنَّبَائِ الْعَظِیْمَ الَّذِیْ ہُمْ فِیْہِ مُخْتَلِفُوْنَ Wan-naba’il-’adhimi-ladhi hum fihi mukhtalifun
And the Great News about which they are in disagreement.
سُبْحَانَ اﷲِ الَّذِیْ یَرْزُقُ الْقَاسِطَ الْعَادِلَ وَالْعَاقِلَ وَالْجَاہِلَ Subhanallahil-ladhi yarzuqul-qasital-’adila wal-’aqila wal-jahil
Glory be to Allah, who provides for the just, the sensible, and the ignorant alike,
وَ یَرْحَمُ السَّاہِیَ وَالْغَافِلَ فَکَیْفَ الدَّاعِیَ السَّآئِلَ Wa yarhamus-sahiya wal-ghafila fa kayfad-da’iyas-sa’il
And has mercy on the inadvertent and the heedless; so how then [would He treat] the one who calls and asks?
وَ لاَ اِلٰہَ اِلاَّ اﷲُ اللَّطِیْفُ بِمَنْ شَرَدَ عَنْہُ مِنْ مُسْرِفِیْ عِبَادِہٖ Wa la ilaha illallahul-latifu biman sharada ‘anhu min musrifi ‘ibadih
And there is no god but Allah, the Kind toward those among His extravagant servants who have strayed from Him,
لِیَرْجِعَ عَنْ عَتُوِّہٖ وَ عِنَادِہٖ Li-yarji’a ‘an ‘utuwwihi wa ‘inadih
So that they may return from their defiance and stubbornness.
الرَّاضِیْ مِنَ الْمُنِیْبِ الْمُخْلِصِ بِدُوْنِ الْوُسْعِ وَالطَّاقَۃِ Ar-radi minal-munibil-mukhlisi biduni-wus’i wat-taqah
Who is pleased with the sincere, turning servant even with little capacity or strength.
وَ عَلٰی کُلِّ نَوْعٍ مِنْ غَوَامِضِ تَقْدِیْرِہ وَ حُسْنِ تَدْبِیْرِہٖ دَلِیْلٌ وَاضِحٌ Wa ‘ala kulli naw’in min ghawamidi taqdirihi wa husni tadbirihi dalilun wadih
And in every kind of His mysterious decrees and His beautiful management, there is a clear proof,
وَ شَاہِدُ عَدْلٍ یَقْضِیَانِ لَہٗ بِالْوَحْدَانِیَّۃِ Wa shahidu ‘adlin yaqdhiyani lahu bil-wahdaniyyah
And a just witness; both testify to His Oneness.
اَللّٰہُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُکَ یَا مَنْ یَصْرِفُ الْبَلاَیَا وَ یَعْلَمُ الْخَفَایَا وَ یُجْزِلُ الْعَطَایَا Allahumma inni as-aluka ya man yasriful-balaya wa ya’lamul-khafaya wa yujzilul-’ataya
O Allah, I ask You—O He who turns away afflictions, knows the hidden secrets, and gives abundant gifts,
سُؤَالَ نَادِمٍ عَلٰی اِقْتِرَافِ الْاٰثَامِ وَ سَالِمٍ عَلَی الْمَعَاصِیْ مِنَ اللَّیَالِیْ وَالْاَیَّامِ Su’ala nadimin ‘ala-qtirafil-atham wa salimin ‘alal-ma’asi minal-layali wal-ayyam
The asking of one who is regretful over committing sins and who has been constant in disobedience through the nights and days,
اِذْلَمْ یَجِدْ مُجِیْرًا سِوَاکَ لِغُفْرَانِہَا وَلاَ مَوْئِلاً یَفْزَعُ اِلَیْہِ لِاِرْتِجَآءِ کَشْفِ فَاقَتِہٖ اِلاَّ اِیَّاکَ Idh lam yajid mujiran siwaka li-ghufraniha wa la maw-ilan yafza’u ilayhi li-rtija’i kashfi faqatihi illa iyyak
Since he finds no protector other than You for their forgiveness, nor any refuge to flee to in hope of relieving his poverty, except You.
یَا جَلِیْلُ اَنْتَ الَّذِیْ عَمَّ الْخَلآئِقَ مَنُّکَ وَ غَمَرَتْہُمْ سَعَۃُ رَحْمَتُکَ Ya Jalilu anta-ladhi ‘ammal-khala’iqa mannuk wa ghamarathum sa’atu rahmatik
O Majestic One, You are the one whose favor encompasses all creatures, and the vastness of Your mercy has overwhelmed them.
وَ سَوَّغَتْہُمْ سََوَابِغُ نِعْمَتِکَ Wa sawwaghathum sawabighu ni’matik
And Your profuse blessings have made life pleasant for them.
یَا کَرِیْمُ الْمَاٰبِ وَالْجَوَادُ الْوَہَّابِ وَالْمُنْتَقِمُ مِمَّنْ عَصَاہُ بِاَلِیْمِ الْعَذَابِ Ya karimul-ma’abi wal-jawadul-wahhabi wal-muntaqimu mimman ‘asahu bi-alim-il-’adhab
O Noble in Return, the Generous, the Bestower, and the Avenger against those who disobey Him with painful punishment.
دَعَوْتُکَ مُقِرًّا بِالْاِسَائَۃِ عَلٰی نَفْسِیْ اِذْلَمْ اَجِدُ مَلْجَأ اَلْجَاَہُ اِلَیْہِ فِیْ اِغْتِفَادِ مَا اکْتَسَبْتَ مِنَ الْاٰثَامِ Da’awtuka muqirran bil-isa’ati ‘ala nafsi idh lam ajid malja’an alja’uhu ilayhi fi-ghtifadi ma-ktasabta minal-atham
I call upon You, admitting to the wrong I have done to myself, since I found no shelter to turn to for the pardon of the sins I have earned.
یَا خَیْرَ مَنِ اسْتُدْعٰی لِبَذْلِ الرَّغَآئِبِ وَ اَنْجَحَ مَامُوْلٍ لِکَشْفِ الْکَوَارِبِ Ya khayra man istud’iya li-badhlir-ragha’ib wa anjaha ma’mulin li-kashfil-kawarib
O Best of those called upon to grant desires, and most successful of those hoped for to remove distress.
لَکَ عَنَتِ الْوُجُوْہُ فَلاَ تَرُدَّنِیْ مِنْکَ بِالْحِرْمَانِ اِنَّکَ تَفْعَلُ مَا تَشَآءُ وَ تَحْکُمُ مَا تُرِیْدُ Laka ‘anatil-wujuhu fala taruddani minka bil-hirman, innaka taf’alu ma tasha’u wa tahkumu ma turid
Before You all faces are humbled, so do not turn me away with deprivation; indeed You do what You will and decree what You intend.
اِلٰہِیْ وَ سَیِّدِیْ وَ مَوْلاَیَ اَیَّ رَبٍّ اِرْتَجِیْہِ اَمْ اَیَّ اِلٰہٍ اَقْصُدُہٗ Ilahi wa sayyidi wa mawlaya ayya rabbin artajih am ayya ilahin aqsuduh
My God, my Master, and my Guardian, what other Lord could I hope for, or what other deity could I turn to?
اِذَا اَلَمَّ بِیَ النَّدَمُ وَ اَحَاطَتْ بِیَ الْمَعَاصِیْ وَ نَکَائِبُ خَوْفِ النِّقَمِ Idha alamma biyan-nadam wa ahatat biyal-ma’asi wa naka’ibu khawfin-niqam
When regret strikes me, and sins and the calamities of the fear of punishment surround me.
وَ اَنْتَ وَلِیَّ الصَّفْحِ وَ میَاوَی الْکَرَمِ Wa anta waliyyus-saf-hi wa maw-wal-karam
While You are the Master of Pardon and the Abode of Generosity.
اِلٰہِیْ اَتُقِیْمُنِیْ مَقَامَ الْہَلَکَۃِ وَ اَنْتَ جَمِیْلُ السِّتْرِ Ilahi atuqimuni maqamal-halakati wa anta jamilus-sitri
My God, would You place me in a state of destruction when You are the Beautiful Veiler (of faults)?
وَ تَسَأَلُنِیْ عنْ اِقْتِرَافِیْ عَلٰی رُئُوْسِ الْاَشْہَادِ وَ قَدْ مَخَبَّاتِ السِّتْرِ Wa tas-aluni ‘an iqtirafi ‘ala ru’usil-ash-had wa qad makhabbat-is-sitri
And would You question me about my crimes in front of all witnesses, even though You are the One who provides the hidden veils of protection?
فَاِنْ کُنْتُ اِلٰہِیْ مُسْرِفًا عَلٰی نَفْسِیْ مُخْطِئًا عَلَیْہَا بِاِنْتِہَاکَ الْحُرُمَاتِ Fa in kuntu ilahi musrifan ‘ala nafsi mukhti’an ‘alayha bintiha-kil-hurumat
For even if I have been extravagant against myself, and erring against it by violating sanctities,
نَاسِیًا لِمَا اجْتَرَمْتُ مِنَ الْہَفَوَاتِ فَاَنْتَ لَطِیْفٌ تَجُوْدُ عَلَی الْمُسْرِفِیْنَ بِرَحْمَتِکَ Nasiyan lima-jtaramtu minal-hafawati fa anta latifun tajudu ‘alal-musrifina bi-rahmatik
Being forgetful of the slips and errors I have committed, You are Kind, granting Your mercy to the extravagant.
وَ تَتَفَضَّلْ عَلَی الْخَاطِئِیْنَ بِکَرَمِکَ فَارْحَمْنِیْ یَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ Wa tatafaddal ‘alal-khati’ina bi-karamika farhamni ya arhamar-rahimin
And You favor the sinners with Your generosity; so have mercy on me, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
فَاِنَّکَ تُسَکِّنَ یَا اِلٰہِیْ بِتَحَبُّنِکَ رَوْعَاتِ قُلُوْبِ الْوَجِلِیْنَ Fa innaka tusakkinu ya ilahi bi-tahabbunika raw’ati qulubil-wajilin
For You, my God, through Your love, calm the fears of the hearts of the frightened.
وَ تُحَقُّقِ بِتَطَوُّلِکَ اَمَلَ الْاٰمِلِیْنَ وَ تُفِیْضُ سَجَالَ عَطَایَاکَ عَلٰی غَيْرِ الْمُسْتَاہِلِیْنَ Wa tuhaqqiqu bi-tatawwulika amalal-amilina wa tufidu sajala ‘atayaka ‘ala ghayril-mustahilin
And You fulfill, through Your favor, the expectations of those who hope, and pour out the buckets of Your gifts even upon those who are undeserving.
فَاٰمِنِّیْ بِرَجَآئٍ لاَ یَشُوْبُہٗ قُنُوْطٌ وَ اَمَلٍ لاَ یُکَدِّرُہُ بَاْسٌ Fa-aminni bi-raja’in la yashubuhu qunut wa amalin la yukaddiruhu ba’s
So grant me security with a hope not tainted by despair, and an expectation not clouded by misery.
یَا مُحِیْطًا بِکُلِّ شَیْءٍ عِلْمًا وَ قَدْ اَصْبَحْتُ سَیِّدِیْ وَ اَمْسَیْتُ عَلٰی بَابٍ مِنْ اَبْوَابِ مِنَحِکَ سَآئِلاً Ya muhitan bi-kulli shay’in ‘ilma wa qad asbahtu sayyidi wa amsaytu ‘ala babin min abwabi minahika sa’ila
O He who encompasses everything in knowledge; I have entered the morning and the evening, my Master, as a beggar at one of the doors of Your gifts.
وَ عَنِ التَّعَرُّضِ لِسِوَاکَ بِالْمَسْأَلَۃِ عَادِلاً Wa ‘anit-ta’arrudi li-siwaka bil-mas’alati ‘adila
Turning away from asking anyone other than You.
وَ لَیْسَ مِنْ جَمِیْلِ اِمْتِنَانِکَ رَدُّ سَآئِلٍ مَأْسُوْرٍ مَلْہُوْفٍ وَ مُضْطَرٍّ لِانْتِظَارِ خَیْرِکَ الْمَالُوْفِ Wa laysa min jamili imtinanika raddu sa’ilin ma’surin malhufin wa mudtarrin lintidhari khayrikal-maluf
And it is not like Your beautiful grace to turn away a captive, grieving, and distressed petitioner who waits for Your accustomed goodness.
اِلٰہِیْ اَنْتَ الَّذِیْ عَجَزَتِ الْاَوْهَامُ عَنِ الْاِحَاطَۃِ بِکَ وَ کَلَّتِ الْاَلْسُنُ عَنْ نَعْتِ ذٰلِکَ Ilahi anta-ladhi ‘ajazatil-awhamu ‘anil-ihatati bik wa kallatil-alsunu ‘an na’ti dhalik
My God, You are the one whom imaginations fail to encompass, and tongues grow weary of describing Your Essence.
فَبِاٰلَآئِکَ وَ طَوْلِکَ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَاغْفِرْلِیْ ذُنُوْبِیْ Fa bi-ala’ika wa tawlika salli ‘ala Muhammadin wa ali Muhammad waghfir-li dhunubi
So by Your bounties and Your power, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and forgive me my sins.
وَ اَوْسِعْ عَلَیَّ مِنْ فَضْلِکَ الْوَاسَعِ رِزْقًا وَاسِعًا حَلٰلاً طَیِّبًا فِیْ عَافِیَۃٍ وَ اَقِلْنِیْ الْعَثْرَۃَ Wa awsi’ ‘alayya min fadlikal-wasi’i rizqan wasi’an halalan tayyiban fi ‘afiyatin wa aqilniyal-’athrah
And expand for me, from Your vast favor, a wide, lawful, and good sustenance in well-being, and forgive my stumbling.
یَا غَایَۃَ الْاٰمِلِیْنَ وَ جَبَّارَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِیْنَ وَالْبَاقِیْ بَعْدَ فَنَآءِ الْخَلْقِ اَجْمَعِیْنَ وَ دَیَّانَ یَوْمِ الدِّیْنِ Ya ghayatal-amilina wa jabbaras-samawati wal-ardina wal-baqi ba’da fana’il-khalqi ajma’ina wa dayyana yawmid-din
O Ultimate Goal of the hopeful, Compeller of the heavens and the earths, the One who remains after the annihilation of all creation, and the Judge of the Day of Judgment.
وَ اَنْتَ یَا مَوْلاَیَ ثِقَۃُ مَنْ لَمْ یَثْقِ بِنَفْسِہٖ لِاِفْرَاطِ خَلَلِہٖ Wa anta ya mawlaya thiqatu man lam yathq bi-nafsihi li-ifrati khalalih
And You, my Master, are the reliance of him who does not trust himself due to the excess of his flaws.
وَ اَمَلُ مَنْ لَمْ یَکُنْ لَہٗ تَاْمِیْلٌ لِکَثْرَۃِ زَلَلِہٖ وَ رَجَآءُ مَنْ لَمْ یَرْتَجِ لِنَفْسِہٖ بِوَسِیْلَۃِ عَمَلِہٖ Wa amalu man lam yakun lahu ta’milun li-kathrati zalalihi wa raja’u man lam yartaji li-nafsihi bi-wasilati ‘amalih
The hope of him who has no hope due to the frequency of his slips, and the expectation of him who finds no hope for himself through his own deeds.
اِلٰہِیْ فَاَنْقِذْنِیْ بِرَحْمَتِکَ مِنَ الْمَہَالِکِ وَ اَحْلِلْنِیْ دَارَ الْاَخْیَارِ Ilahi fa-anqidhni bi-rahmatika minal-mahaliki wa ahlilni daral-akhyar
My God, rescue me by Your mercy from the places of destruction, and settle me in the abode of the chosen ones.
وَاجْعَلْنِیْ مِنْ مُرَافِقِیْ الْاَبْرَارِ وَاغْفِرْلِیْ ذُنُوْبَ اللَّیْلِ وَالنَّہَارِ Waj’alni min mura fiqil-abrari waghfir-li dhunubal-layli wan-nahar
Make me among the companions of the righteous, and forgive me the sins of the night and the day.
یَا مُطَّلِعًا عَلَی الْاَسْرَارِ اِحْتَمِلْ عَنِّیْ مَوْلاَیَ اَدَآءَ مَا افْتَرَضْتَ عَلَیَّ Ya muttali’an ‘alal-asrari ihtamil ‘anni mawlaya ada’a ma-ftaradta ‘alay
O Knower of secrets, fulfill on my behalf, my Master, the duties You made obligatory upon me,
لِلْاٰبَآءِ وَالْاُمَّہَاتِ وَالْاِخْوَانِ وَالْاَخْوَاتِ بِلُطْفِکَ وَ کَرِمَکَ یَا ذَاالْجَلاَلِ وَالْاِکْرَامِ Lil-aba’i wal-ummahati wal-ikhwani wal-akhawati bi-lutfika wa karamika ya dhal-jalali wal-ikram
Toward fathers, mothers, brothers, and sisters, by Your kindness and Your generosity, O Owner of Majesty and Honor.
وَ اَشْرِکْنَا فِیْ دُعَآءِ مَنِ اسْتَجَبْتَ لَہٗ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنٰتِ Wa ashrikna fi du’a’i man istajabta lahu minal-mu’minina wal-mu’minat
And include us in the prayers of those among the believing men and women whose supplications You have answered.
اِنَّکَ جَوَادٌ کَرِیْمٌ وَہَّابٌ صَلَّی اﷲُ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِہٖ وَ سَلَّمَ تَسْلِیْمًا Innaka jawadun karimun wahhabun salla-llahu ‘ala Muhammadin wa alihi wa sallama taslima
Indeed You are Generous, Noble, and the Bestower. May Allah bless Muhammad and his family and grant them perfect peace.
