A’amaal for 13, 14 & 15 (Ayyaam-e-Baydh) - The Luminous days of Rajab & Sha'aban

It is highly desirable to observe fast on the 13th, 14th and 15th of Rajab.
The following is narrated through a chain of documents to my grandfather Abi Ja‟far al-Tusi narrated on the authority of Imam As-Sadiq (as): “God would record the fasting and staying up at night of one year for whoever fasts during the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth days of Rajab. He would stand in the position of those who are secure on the Resurrection Day.”

Have a Ghusl/bath each day, and give alms in the way of Allah.

Recite Dua Sadd Subhan

Nights of “Ayyam Baydh”
The following is reported with its chain of documents from Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Tarazy in his book, on the authority of Abul Hussein Ahmad ibn Ahmad ibn Sa‟eed al-Katib – may God be pleased with him. Abul Abbas Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Sa‟eed narrated that Muhammad ibn Ali al-Qalyani said that he heard his grandfather say that Ahmad ibn Abil Ayfa quoted on the authority of Ja‟far ibn Muhammad (as) who said: “God has granted three months to this nation that He has not granted any other nation. They are the months of Rajab,Sha‟ban and Ramadhan.

He has also bestowed three nights to them that He has not granted anyone else.
They are the thirteenth, the fourteenth and the fifteenth nights of each month.

God has granted this nation three Chapters which He has not granted any other nation.
They are the Chapters Ya Sin, Tabarakul Mulk and Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad

These three things combined constitute the noblest thing that has been granted to this nation.‟ ” He (as) was asked, “How can these three be combined?” He (as) replied, “You can pray on these three nights as below in these three months.
Then you can benefit from the nobility of these three months and God would forgive all your sins except for associating partners with Him.”
Recite a 12 Rak-a’t Salah as under:
On the Night of the 13th recite 2 Rak-a’t,
On the Night of 14th recite 4 Rak-a’t, and
On the Night of 15th recite 6 Rak-a’t:
In each Rak-a’t recite Surah Fatih’ah, Surah Yasin, Surah Mulk and Sura Ikhlaas.

The following has been reported on the authority of the Prophet (saws): “On the middle night of the month of Rajab, God the Sublime orders those who keep and record the Records of Deeds of the people to look at the records and wipe out any bad deeds that are found and replace them with good deeds.”
It is recommended to spend this whole night in acts of worship. It is best to spend it wholeheartedly in the presence of the Lord and put all our thoughts and mind into worship of the Master of our beginning and end and experience His Company and joy of conversing with Him.
You should entrust your deeds to the Ahlulbayt(as) at dawn when this session is about to end. You should take refuge in them, ask them to complete your deeds and ask them to present it to God the Exalted, and help with the fulfillment of your needs.

Another Ziyarah of Imam Husain (peace be upon him) for the Night of 15th Rajab

Sayyid Ibn Tawus has narrated this prayer in this form from Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him):
On the fifteenth night of Rajab, you may offer a twelve-unit prayer in each unit of which you may recite; Surah Fatihah, Surah Ikhlaas, al-Falaq, al-Naas, and Ayah al-Kursi and Surah Qadr all four times each.
After that, repeat the following four times:
اللَّهُ اللَّهُ رَبِّي
allahu allahu rabbi
Allah, Allah is my Lord.
la ushriku bihi shay'an
I do not associate anyone with Him
wa la attakhidhu min dunihi waliyyan
and I do not betake any Master other than Him.

Recite a 12 Rakat Salah: 6x2 with reciting Sura Fatiha and any other Sura in each Rakah

When you finish, recite Surah Fatih’ah, Surah Ikhlaas, Surah Falaq, Surah Kaafiroon, Surah Naas, Surah Qadr and Aayatul Kursi 4 times each.

wa la ilaha illa allahu wallahu akbaru
there is no god save Allah, and Allah is the Greatest.

You may then say the following:
اللَّهُ اللَّهُ رَبِّي
allahu allahu rabbi
Allah, Allah is my Lord.
la ushriku bihi shay'an
I do not associate anyone with Him.
wa ma sha'a allahu
Only shall that which Allah wills happen.
There is no power save with Allah, the Most High, the All-great.

It is recommended to offer a prayer consisting of 30 units in each of which one should recite Surah al-Fatihah one time and Surah al-Tawheed ten times.
Sayyid Ibn Tawus has reported this prayer from the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) with an abundant reward.

Take a Ghusl on this day.

It is recommended to visit the holy shrine of Imam al-Husain (peace be upon him) on this day. In this respect, it has been narrated that Abu-Basir asked Imam al-Ridha (peace be upon him) about the best times of visiting Imam al-Husayn’s tomb. The Imam (peace be upon him) answered, “These are the fifteenth of Rajab and the fifteenth of Sha`ban.”

allahumma ya mudhilla kulli jabbarin
O Allah, O He Who humiliates all the tyrants!
wa ya mu`izza almu'minina
O He Who dignifies the believers!
anta kahfi hina tu`yini almadhahibu
Verily, You are my Shelter when all courses mislead me
wa anta bari'u khalqi rahmatan bi
and You are the Maker of my creation out of Your having mercy upon me,
wa qad kunta `an khalqi ghaniyyan
while You have never needed to create me.
wa lawla rahmatuka lakuntu min alhalikina
Were it not for Your mercy, I would be of those who perish.
wa anta mu'ayyidi bilnnasri `ala a`da'i
You are my backer against my enemies,
wa lawla nasruka iyyaya lakuntu min almafduhina
and were it not for Your support, I would be of those who are exposed.
ya mursila alrrahmati min ma`adiniha
O He Who sends mercy from its origin!
wa munshi'a albarakati min mawadi`iha
O He Who originates blessings from their centers!
ya man khassa nafsahu bilshshumukhi walrrif`ati
O He Who has given Himself exclusively disdain and elevation;
fa awliya'uhu bi`izzihi yata`azzazuna
therefore, His saints feel dignified out of His Honor!
wa ya man wada`at lahu almuluku nira almadhallati `ala a`naqihim
O He for Whom all kings have put the yoke of humiliation on their necks;
fahum min satawatihi kha'ifuna
they are therefore fearful of His supremacy!
as'aluka bikaynuniyyatika allati ishtaqaqtaha min kibriya'ika
I pray You in the name of Your Entity from which You have derived Your Pride,
wa as'aluka bikibriya'ika allati ishtaqaqtaha min `izzatika
I pray You in the name of Your Pride from which You have derived Your Dignity,
wa as'aluka bi`izzatika allati istawayta biha `ala `arshika
I pray You in the name of Your Dignity by which You have been firmly established on the throne of authority;
fakhalaqta biha jami`a khalqika
so, You have created all Your creatures who are,
fahum laka mudh`inuna
as a result, submissive to You.
an tusalliya `ala muhammadin wa ahli baytihi
[I pray You to] send blessings to Muhammad and upon his Household.

Section 60 On the Secrets of the 15th Rajab
Beware that this is the day for which there are secrets and many gifts are bestowed on it, the poor become needless and the grief-stricken people will feel relief. Thus you should turn to God and ask him to improve your affairs. Consider yourself to be in the presence of the Lord and a guest of the Prophet (MGB). Remember that you might not live and see the next middle day of the month of Rajab!
The following narration has been reported on the authority of Ibn Abbas. Adam (MGB) said: “O‟ Lord! Please let me know of Your most loved days and times.”
Then God the Blessed the Sublimed revealed to him, “O‟ Adam! The most loved times for me are the middle day of the month of Rajab. O‟ Adam! Seek proximity to me on the middle day of the month of Rajab by offering, feeding people, fasting, reciting supplications and asking for forgiveness and saying, „There is no God but God.‟
O‟ Adam! I have destined to appoint a Prophet (MGB) from your lineage who is not bad-tempered and does not yell in the bazaar. He is kind, merciful, and highly blessed. I will especially honor him and his nation with the middle day of the month of Rajab. I shall grant whatever asked for. I shall forgive whoever asks for forgiveness. I shall provide for whoever asks for provisions. I shall overlook any mistakes. I shall have Mercy upon whoever asks for Mercy. O‟ Adam! Whoever is fasting in the morning of the middle day of the month of Rajab while mentioning God, humble, protecting his private parts and giving charity using his wealth shall have no reward near Me but Paradise.

The Other Events of the Fifteenth Day of Rajab
It has been reported inarration: “On the fifteenth day of Rajab, God‟s Prophet (MGB) left Sha‟b Abu Talib.
Also on this day, God‟s Prophet (MGB) married off our Master Fatima Zahra (MGB) to our Master Ali (MGB) with God‟s permission.
Also, in this day the Qibla was changed from Jerusalem and the Muslims said the evening prayer facing the Ka‟ba.
