wa ‘allimhum mā lā ya‘lamūn,
and teach them what they do not know,
wa baṣṣirhum mā lā yubṣirūn
and grant them insight into what they do not see.

wa ansihim ‘inda liqā’ihim al-‘aduww

wa imḥu ‘an qulūbihim khaṭarāti al-māl al-fatūn,
and erase from their hearts the thoughts of tempting wealth,
wa ij‘al al-jannata naṣba a‘yunihim
and make Paradise an object before their eyes,
wa lawwiḥ minhā li-abṣārihim mā a‘dadta fīhā min masākini al-khuld

and beautiful maidens (al-ḥūr al-ḥisān), and flowing rivers with various drinks,
wa al-ashjāri al-mutadalliyati bi-ṣunūfi ath-thamar,

wa ḍallilhum ‘an wajhihim,
and misguide them from their destination,
waqṭa‘ ‘anhumu al-madad wa unquṣ minhumu al-‘adad,
and cut off their reinforcement, and decrease their number,

waqṭa‘ bi-khizyihim aṭmā‘a man ba‘dahum.
and cut off the greed of those who come after them by their disgrace.
Allāhumma ‘aqqim arḥāma nisā’ihim,
O Allah, make the wombs of their women barren,
wa yabbis aṣlāba rijālihim,
and dry up the loins of their men,
waqṭa‘ nasla dawābbihim wa an‘āmihim,
and cut off the offspring of their beasts and their cattle,
lā ta’dhan li-samā’ihim fī qaṭr wa lā li-arḍihim fī nabāt.
Do not permit their sky to drop rain, and not their earth to grow vegetation.
Allāhumma wa qawwi bi-dhālika miḥāla ahli al-Islām,
O Allah, and with that strengthen the stratagem of the people of Islam,

wa ‘an munābadhatihim li-al-khalwati bik,
and from their war for seclusion with You,

so that none but You is worshipped in the regions of the earth,
wa lā tu‘affara li-aḥadin minhum jabhatun dūnak.

ḥattā yakshifūhum ilā munqaṭa‘i at-turāb
until they drive them back to the end of the earth,
qatlā fī arḍik wa asrā
killing them on Your earth and taking them captive,
aw yuqirrū bi-annaka anta Allāhu alladhī lā ilāha illā ant
or they acknowledge that You are Allah, the One there is no god but You,

alone, You have no partner.
Allāhumma wa i‘mum bi-dhālika a‘dā’aka fī aqṭāri al-bilād
O Allah, and include by that (Your victory) Your enemies in all regions of the lands,
mina al-Hind wa ar-Rūm wa at-Turk wa al-Khazar wa al-Ḥabash
from India, the Byzantines (Rūm), the Turks, the Khazars, the Abyssinians (Ḥabash),
wa an-Nūbah wa az-Zanj wa as-Saqālibah wa ad-Dayālimah
and Nubia, the Zanj, the Slavs (Saqālibah), and the Daylamites,
wa sā’iri umami ash-shirk alladhī takhfā asmā’uhum wa ṣifātuhum,
and all other nations of polytheism whose names and attributes are hidden,
wa qad aḥṣaytahum bi-ma‘rifatik, wa ashrafta ‘alayhim bi-qudratik.
yet You have enumerated them by Your knowledge, and overseen them with Your power.
Allāhumma ishghali al-mushrikīna bi-al-mushrikīn ‘an tanāwuli aṭrāfi al-muslimīn,
O Allah, occupy the polytheists with the polytheists from reaching the frontiers of the Muslims,
wa khudhhum bi-an-naqṣ ‘an tanaqquṣihim,
and seize them with deficiency from their attack,
wa thabbiṭhum bi-al-furqati ‘ani al-iḥtishādi ‘alayhim.
and hinder them with disunity from gathering against them.
Allāhumma akhli qulūbahum mina al-amanah
O Allah, empty their hearts of security,
wa abdānahum mina al-quwwah wa adhhil qulūbahum ‘ani al-iḥtiyāl
and their bodies of strength, and distract their hearts from planning,
wa awhin arkānahum ‘an munāzalati ar-rijāl
and weaken their foundations from confronting men,
wa jabbirhum ‘an muqāra‘ati al-abṭāl,
and make them cowardly against fighting heroes,
wa ib‘ath ‘alayhim jundan min malā’ikatik
and send upon them a host of Your angels,
bi-ba’sin min ba’sik ka-fi‘lik yawma Badr
with a might from Your might, like Your action on the day of Badr,
taqṭa‘u bihi dābirahum wa taḥṣudu bihi shawkatahum,
by which You sever their roots, and reap their power,
wa tufarriqu bihi ‘adadahum.
and scatter their number.
Allāhumma wa imzuj miyāhahum bi-al-wabā’ wa aṭ‘imatahum bi-al-adwā’
O Allah, and mix their water with pestilence, and their foods with diseases,
wa irmi bilādahum bi-al-khusūf wa aliḥḥa ‘alayhā bi-al-qudhūf wa ifra‘hā bi-al-muḥūl.
and smite their lands with earthquakes, and sustain continuous destruction upon them, and devastate them with drought.
wa ij‘al miyarahum fī aḥaṣṣi arḍik wa ab‘adihā ‘anhum,
And place their provisions in the most inaccessible land of Yours, and the furthest from them,
wa imna‘ ḥuṣūnahā minhum,
and prevent its fortresses from them,

strike them with continuous hunger and painful sickness.
Allāhumma wa ayyumā ghāzin ghazāhum min ahli millatik
O Allah, and whichever warrior from the people of Your faith invades them,
aw mujāhidin jāhadahum min atbā‘i sunnatik
or any struggler from the followers of Your way strives against them,
li-yakūna dīnuka al-a‘lā wa ḥizbuka al-aqwā wa ḥaẓẓuka al-awfā
so that Your religion may be supreme, and Your party strongest, and Your share fullest,
fa-laqqihi al-yusr, wa hayyi’ lahu al-amr,
then make ease meet him, and prepare the affair for him,
wa tawallahu bi-an-nujḥ,
and undertake his success,
wa takhayyar lahu al-aṣḥāb,
and choose his companions for him,
wa istaqwī lahu aẓ-ẓahr,
and strengthen his support (rear guard),
wa asbigh ‘alayhi fī an-nafaqah wa matti‘hu bi-an-nashāṭ,
and shower him with spending, and let him enjoy enthusiasm,
wa aṭfi ‘anhu ḥarārata ash-shawq,
and cool the heat of longing from him,
wa ajirhu min ghammi al-waḥshah,
and rescue him from the grief of loneliness,
wa ansihi dhikra al-ahl wa al-walad
and make him forget the remembrance of family and children,
wa athur lahu ḥusna an-niyyah wa tawallahu bi-al-‘āfiyah,
and inspire him with good intention, and undertake his well-being,
wa aṣḥibhu as-salāmah, wa a‘fihi mina al-jubn,
and accompany him with safety, and spare him from cowardice,
wa alhimhu al-jur’ah wa rzuqhu ash-shiddah wa ayyidhu bi-an-nuṣrah,
and inspire him with daring, and grant him intensity (of strength), and support him with victory,
wa ‘allimhu as-siyar wa as-sunan, wa saddidhu fī al-ḥukm,
and teach him the ways (siyar) and customs (sunan), and guide him in judgment,
wa‘zil ‘anhu ar-riyā’, wa khalliṣhu mina as-sum‘ah
and remove hypocrisy (riyā’) from him, and purify him from seeking fame (sum‘ah),
wa ij‘al fikrahu wa dhikrahu wa ẓa‘nahu wa iqāmatahu fīka wa lak,
and make his thought and his remembrance, his journey and his stay, in You and for You.
Fa-idhā ṣāffa ‘aduwwaka wa ‘aduwwahū fa-qallilhum fī ‘aynih
Then, when he arrays against Your enemy and his enemy, lessen them in his eye,
wa ṣaghighir sha’nahum fī qalbih
and belittle their significance in his heart,
wa adil lahu minhum wa lā tudilhum minh
and grant him dominance over them, and do not grant them dominance over him.
Fa-in khatamta lahu bi-as-sa‘ādah wa qaḍayta lahu bi-ash-shahādah
And if You seal it for him with happiness and decree martyrdom for him,
fa-ba‘da an yajtāḥa ‘aduwwaka bi-al-qatl
then after he has wiped out Your enemy with killing,
wa ba‘da an yajhada bihimu al-asr
and after taking captives has exhausted them,
wa ba‘da an ta’mana aṭrāfu al-muslimīn
and after the frontiers of the Muslims have become safe,
wa ba‘da an yuwalliya ‘aduwwuka mudbirīn.
and after Your enemy has turned in retreat.
Allāhumma wa ayyumā muslimin
O Allah, and whichever Muslim

aw ra‘ā lahu min warā’ihī ḥurmah.
or observes a sanctity for him from behind him.
Fa-jir lahu mithla ajrih
Then reward him with the like of his reward,

wa ‘awwiḍhu min fi‘lihī ‘iwaḍan ḥāḍiran yata‘ajjal bihī naf‘a mā qaddam,
and compensate him for his action with a ready compensation by which he hastens the benefit of what he presented,
