بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the Name of Allah; the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

يَا عُدَّتِي فِي كُرْبَتِي،

O my means in troubles:

وَيَا صَاحِبِي فِي شِدَّتِي،

O my Companion in hardships:

وَيَا وَلِيِّي فِي نِعْمَتِي،

O the Provider of my amenities;

وَيَا غَايَتِي فِي رَغْبَتِي،

O the utmost of my desires.

أَنْتَ السَّاتِرُ عَوْرَتِي،

It is You Who conceals my defects,

وَالْمُؤْمِنُ رَوْعَتِي،

Who relieves my apprehensions,

وَالْمُقِيلُ عَثْرَتِي،

and Who overlooks my slips;

فَاغْفِرْ لِي خَطِيئَتِي.

so, (please do) forgive my sin.

اللّهُمَّ إنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خُشُوعَ الإيمَانِ

O Allah: I pray You for the submission of faith

قَبْلَ خُشُوعِ الذُلَّ فِي النَّارِ،

before I encounter the submission of humiliation in Hellfire.

يَا وَاحِدُ يَا أَحَدُ يَا صَمَدُ

O the One: O the Absolute: O the Besought of all:

يَا مَنْ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ

O He Who neither begets nor is He begotten,

وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُواً أَحَدٌ،

and there is none like to Him.

يَا مَنْ يُعْطِي مَنْ سَأَلَهُ

O He Who confers upon him who beseeches Him

تَحَنُّناً مِنْهُ وَرَحْمَةً،

on account of His sympathy and mercy;

وَيَبْتَدِئُ بِالْخَيْرِ مَنْ لَمْ يَسْأَلْهُ

and He Who initially grants welfare to those who have not asked for it,

تَفَضُّلاً مِنْهُ وَكَرَماً،

on account of His liberality and generosity.

بِكَرَمِكَ الدَّائِمِ

I beseech You in the name of Your endless generosity

صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

that You bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

وَهَبْ لِي رَحْمَةً وَاسِعَةً جَامِعَةً

and bestow upon me with mercy—vast and comprehensive—

أَبْلُغُ بِهَا خَيْرَ الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ.

by which I can win the welfare of this world as well as the Next World.

اللّهُمَّ إنِّي أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا تُبْتُ إلَيْكَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ عُدْتُ فِيهِ،

O Allah: I do pray for Your forgiveness for the sins from which I had repented to You but I committed them again.

وَأَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِكُلِّ خَيْرٍ أَرَدْتُ بِهِ وَجْهَكَ

And I pray for Your forgiveness for my righteous acts that although I intended them purely for Your sake,

فَخَالَطَنِي فِيهِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ.

some purposes that are not intended for You intruded upon them.

اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

وَاعْفُ عَنْ ظُلْمِي وَجُرْمِي

and pardon my transgression and my offenses

بِحِلْمِكَ وَجُودِكَ يَا كَرِيمُ،

in the name of Your forbearance and magnanimity;

يَامَنْ لا يَخِيبُ سَائِلُهُ،

O the All-generous. O He- one who prays Him will never be disappointed;

وَلا يَنْفَدُ نَائِلُهُ،

one who seeks His rewards will never be devoid of goodness.

يَا مَنْ عَلا فَلا شَيْءَ فَوْقَهُ،

O He Who is so Elevated that nothing can ever be higher than He is;

وَدَنَا فَلا شَيْءَ دُونَهُ،

and Who is so Nigh that nothing can ever be closer that He is:

صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

(please do) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

وَارْحَمْنِي

and have mercy upon me—

يَا فَالِقَ الْبَحْرِ لِمُوسَى،

O He Who split asunder the sea for (Prophet) Moses—

اللَّيْلَةَ اللَّيْلَةَ اللَّيْلَةَ،

this very night, this very night, this very night,

السَّاعَةَ السَّاعَةَ السَّاعَةَ.

this very hour, this very hour, this very hour.

اللّهُمَّ طَهِّرْ قَلْبِي مِنَ النِّفَاقِ،

O Allah: (please do) purify my heart from hypocrisy;

وَعَمَلِي مِنَ الرِّيَاءِ،

and purify my acts from showing off;

وَلِسَانِي مِنَ الكَذِبِ،

and purity my tongue from telling untruths;

وَعَيْنِي مِنَ الْخِيَانَةِ،

and purify my eye from treason,

فَإنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ خَائِنَةَ الأَعْيُنِ وَمَا تُخْفِي الصُّدُورُ،

for You know the steal Your looks and that which the breasts conceal.

يَا رَبِّ هذَا مَقَامُ الْعَائِذِ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ،

O my Lord: this is the manner of him who seeks Your protection from Hellfire.

هذَا مَقَامُ الْمُسْتَجِيرِ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ،

This is the manner of him who seeks Your shelter against Hellfire.

هذَا مَقَامُ الْمُسْتَغِيثِ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ،

This is the manner of him who seeks Your aid against Hellfire.

هذَا مَقَامُ الْهَارِبِ إلَيْكَ مِنَ النَّارِ،

This is the manner of him who flees to You from Hellfire.

هذَا مَقَامُ مَنْ يَبُوءُ لَكَ بِخَطِيئَتِهِ،

This is the manner of him who returns to You carrying his offenses,

وَيَعْتَرِفُ بِذَنْبِهِ،

confessing of his sins,

وَيَتُوبُ إلَى رَبِّهِ،

and repenting to You—his Lord.

هذَا مَقَامُ الْبَائِسِ الْفَقِيرِ،

This is the manner of the miserable, the poor.

هذَا مَقَامُ الْخَائِفِ الْمُسْتَجِيرِ،

This is the manner of the fearful, the seeker of Your refuge.

هذَا مَقَامُ الْمَحْزُونِ الْمَكْرُوبِ،

This is the manner of the aggrieved, the distressed.

هذَا مَقَامُ الْمَغْمُومِ الْمَهْمُومِ،

This is the manner of the depressing, the gloomy.

هذَا مَقَامُ الْغَرِيبِ الْغَرِيقِ،

This is the manner of the stranger, the drowned.

هذَا مَقَامُ الْمُسْتَوْحِشِ الْفَرِقِ،

This is the manner of the alienated, the frightened.

هذَا مَقَامُ مَنْ لا يَجِدُ لِذَنْبِهِ غَافِراً غَيْرَكَ،

This is the manner of him who cannot find anyone save You to forgive his sins;

وَلا لِضَعْفِهِ مُقَوِّياً إلاَّ أَنْتَ،

who cannot find anyone save You to give him power;

وَلا لِهَمِّهِ مُفَرِّجاً سِوَاكَ،

and who cannot find anyone save You to relieve his grief.

يَا اللّهُ يَا كَرِيمُ

O Allah, O All-generous:

لا تُحْرِقْ وَجْهِي بِالنَّارِ بَعْدَ سُجُودِي لَكَ وَتَعْفِيرِي

(please) do not burn my face with Hellfire after I have prostrated myself before You and I have soiled my face for You.

بِغَيرِ مَنٍّ مِنِّي عَلَيْكَ

Of course, this is not a personal favor that I have done to myself;

بَلْ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَالْمَنُّ وَالتَّفَضُّلُ عَلَيَّ،

rather it is on account of Your Praiseworthy favor and guidance to me.

ارْحَمْ أَيْ رَبِّ أَيْ رَبِّ أَيْ رَبِّ...

So, have mercy, O Lord, O Lord, O Lord…Keep saying as much as one breath takes,

ضَعْفِي،

upon my weakness,

وَقِلَّةَ حِيلَتِي،

upon my confusedness,

وَرِقَّةَ جِلْدِي،

upon the softness of my skin,

وَتَبَدُّدَ أَوْصَالِي،

upon the separation of my organs,

وَتَنَاثُرَ لَحْمِي وَجِسْمِي وَجَسَدِي،

upon the dispersal of my flesh, body, and corpse,

وَوَحْدَتِي وَوَحْشَتِي فِي قَبْرِي

upon my loneliness and lonesomeness in my grave,

وَجَزَعِي مِنْ صَغِيرِ الْبَلاءِ،

and upon my anxiety at the least misfortune that inflicts me.

أَسْأَلُكَ يَا رَبِّ قُرَّةَ الْعَيْنِ وَالإغْتِبَاطَ

I beseech You, O Lord, for delight and happiness

يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ وَالنَّدَامَةِ،

on the Day of regret and remorse.

بَيِّضْ وَجْهِي يَا رَبِّ يَوْمَ تَسْوَدُّ الْوُجُوهُ،

(Please do) whiten my face, O Lord, when some faces will be blackened.

آمِنِّي مِنَ الْفَزَعِ الأَكْبَرِ،

(Please do) secure me against the Supreme Horror.

أَسْأَلُكَ الْبُشْرَى يَوْمَ تُقَلَّبُ الْقُلُوبُ وَالأَبْصَارُ،

I beseech You for good tidings when hearts and sights shall be turned about

وَالْبُشْرَى عِنْدَ فِرَاقِ الدُّنْيَا.

and for good tidings when I depart this life.

الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الَّذِي أَرْجُوهُ عَوْناً لِي فِي حَيَاتِي،

All praise be to Allah Whom I hope for aiding me in my life

وَأُعِدُّهُ ذُخْراً لِيَوْمِ فَاقَتِي.

and Whom I want to act as my Provision on the day of my neediness.

الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الَّذِي أَدْعُوهُ وَلا أَدْعُو غَيْرَهُ،

All praise be to Allah Whom alone do I beseech and I never beseech anyone rather than Him;

وَلَوْ دَعَوْتُ غَيْرَهُ لَخَيَّبَ دُعَائِي.

and even if I beseech anyone else, he will definitely let me down.

الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الَّذِي أَرْجُوهُ وَلا أَرْجُو غَيْرَهُ،

All praise be to Allah for Whom I hope and I never hope for anyone rather than Him;

وَلَوْ رَجَوْتُ غَيْرَهُ لأَخْلَفَ رَجَائِي.

and even if I hope for anyone else, he will definitely disappoint me.

الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الْمُنْعِمِ الْمُحْسِنِ

All praise be to Allah, the All-benefactor, the All-donor,

الْمُجْمِلِ الْمُفْضِلِ

the All-favorer, the All-liberal,

ذِي الْجَلالِ وَالإكْرَامِ،

the Lord of Majesty and Honor,

وَلِيُّ كُلِّ نِعْمَةٍ،

the Source of all bounties,

وَصَاحِبُ كُلِّ حَسَنَةٍ،

And the Cause of all good deeds,

وَمُنْتَهَى كُلِّ رَغْبَةٍ،

the Ultimate Goal of all desires,

وَقَاضِي كُلِّ حَاجَةٍ.

and the Answerer of all needs.

اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

وَارْزُقْنِي الْيَقِينَ وَحُسْنَ الظَّنِّ بِكَ،

and grant me conviction and having good idea about You;

وَأَثْبِتْ رَجَاءَكَ فِي قَلْبِي،

and fix my hope for You in my heart;

وَاقْطَعْ رَجَائِي عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ

and deprive me of putting my hope in anyone other than You,

حَتَّى لا أَرْجُوَ غَيْرَكَ وَلا أَثِقَ إلاَّ بِكَ،

so that I shall hope for none but You and I shall trust none but You.

يَا لَطِيفاً لِمَا تَشَاءُ

O He Who is Benignant to whom He pleases:

أُلْطُفْ لِي فِي جَمِيعِ أَحْوَالِي بِمَا تُحِبُّ وَتَرْضَى،

(please do) have benignity towards me in all my manners in the very way that You like and please.

يَا رَبِّ إنِّي ضَعِيفٌ عَلَى النَّارِ فَلا تُعَذِّبْنِي بِالنَّارِ،

O my Lord: verily, I am too weak to encounter Your Fire; therefore, (please) do not punish me with Your Fire.

يَا رَبِّ ارْحَمْ دُعَائِي وَتَضَرُّعِي

O my Lord: (please do) have mercy upon my prayers, my earnest imploring,

وَخَوْفِي وَذُلِّي وَمَسْكَنَتِي

my fear, my humiliation, my neediness,

وَتَعْوِيذِي وَتَلْوِيذِي،

my seeking Your protection, and my seeking Your refuge.

يَا رَبِّ إنِّي ضَعِيفٌ عَنْ طَلَبِ الدُّنْيَا

O my Lord: I am too weak to seek earnings in this world

وَأَنْتَ وَاسِعٌ كَرِيمٌ،

and You are Ample-giving and All-generous.

أَسْأَلُكَ يَا رَبِّ بِقُوَّتِكَ عَلَى ذلِكَ،

I beseech You, O my Lord, in the name of Your power over that,

وَقُدْرَتِكَ عَلَيْهِ،

and Your supremacy over it,

وَغِنَاكَ عَنْهُ،

and Your dispensing with it,

وَحَاجَتِي إلَيْهِ،

and my urgent need for it

أَنْ تَرْزُقَنِي فِي عَامِي هذَا،

that You grant me sustenance in this year,

وَشَهْرِي هذَا،

in this month,

وَيَوْمِي هذَا،

on this day,

وَسَاعَتِي هذِهِ

at this hour—

رِزْقاً تُغْنِينِي بِهِ عَنْ تَكَلُّفِ مَا فِي أَيْدِي النَّاسِ

sustenance by which You may make me dispense with what the others possess,

مِنْ رِزْقِكَ الْحَلالِ الطَّيِّبِ،

from Your sustenance, legal and nice.

أَيْ رَبِّ مِنْكَ أَطْلُبُ،

O my Lord: from You do I ask;

وَإلَيْكَ أَرْغَبُ،

and for You do I desire;

وَإيَّاكَ أَرْجُو،

and for You do I hope;

وَأَنْتَ أَهْلُ ذلِكَ

and You are the worthiest of hope.

لا أَرْجُو غَيْرَكَ

I hope for none but You

وَلا أَثِقُ إلاَّ بِكَ

and I trust in none but You.

يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ،

O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy:

أَيْ رَبِّ ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي

O my Lord: I have wronged myself;

فَاغْفِرْ لِي وَارْحَمْنِي وَعَافِنِي،

so, (please do) forgive me, have mercy upon me, and grant me good health.

يَا سَامِعَ كُلِّ صَوْتٍ،

O the Hearer of all sounds;

وَيَا جَامِعَ كُلِّ فَوْتٍ،

O He Who takes precedence over everything that passes away;

وَيَا بَارِئَ النُّفُوسِ بَعْدَ الْمَوْتِ،

O the Reviver of all souls after death;

يَا مَنْ لا تَغْشَاهُ الظُّلُمَاتُ،

O He Whom is not screened by murk;

وَلا تَشْتَبِهُ عَلَيْهِ الأَصْوَاتُ،

O He Whom is not made confused by sounds;

وَلا يَشْغَلُهُ شَيْءٌ عَنْ شَيْءٍ،

O He Whom is not engaged by something against another thing;

أَعْطِ مُحَمَّداً صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ أَفْضَلَ مَا سَأَلَكَ،

(please do) grant Muhammad—peace be upon him and his Family—the best of all that for which he has besought You

وَأَفْضَلَ مَا سُئِلْتَ لَه،

and the best of all that which has been asked from You for him

وَأَفْضَلَ مَا أَنْتَ مَسْؤُولٌ لَهُ إلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ،

and the best all that which You shall be asked for him up to the Resurrection Day;

وَهَبْ لِيَ الْعَافِيَةَ حَتَّى تُهَنِّئَنِي الْمَعِيشَةَ،

and grant me good health so that I may enjoy my life;

وَاخْتِمْ لِي بِخَيْرٍ حَتَّى لا تَضُرَّنِي الذُّنُوبُ.

and end my life with a happy end so that my sins may not injure me.

اللّهُمَّ رَضِّنِي بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لِي حَتَّى لا أَسْأَلَ أَحَداً شَيْئاً.

O Allah: (please do) make me satisfied with that which You have decided for me so that I will not ask anyone else for anything.

اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

وَافْتَحْ لِي خَزَائِنَ رَحْمَتِكَ،

And open to me the stores of Your mercy

وَارْحَمْنِي رَحْمَةً لا تُعَذِّبُنِي بَعْدَهَا أَبَداً فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ،

and cover me with a mercy from You owing to which You will not punish me neither in this world nor in the Hereafter;

وَارْزُقْنِي مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْوَاسِعِ رِزْقاً حَلالاً طَيِّباً

and grant me from Your limitless favor sustenance, legal and nice,

لا تُفْقِرُنِي إلَى أَحَدٍ بَعْدَهُ سِوَاكَ،

owing to which You will make me dispense with anyone other than You;

تَزِيدُنِي بِذلِكَ شُكْراً،

increasing my gratitude to You,

وَإلَيْكَ فَاقَةً وَفَقْراً،

and my neediness and submission before You,

وَبِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ غِنَىً وَتَعَفُّفاً،

and increasing my dispensing with and doing without everyone save You.

يَا مُحْسِنُ يَا مُجْمِلُ

O the All-benefactor; O the All-donor;

يَا مُنْعِمُ يَا مُفْضِلُ

O the All-favorer; O the All-liberal,

يَا مَلِيكُ يَا مُقْتَدِرُ

O the All-omnipotent; O the All-sovereign;

صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

(please do) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

وَاكْفِنِي الْمُهِمَّ كُلَّهُ،

and relieve me from all grievances;

وَاقْضِ لِي بِالْحُسْنَى،

and decide the most excellent for me;

وَبَارِكْ لِي فِي جَمِيعِ أُمُورِي

and bless all my affairs;

وَاقْضِ لِي جَمِيعَ حَوَائِجِي.

and settle all my needs.

اللّهُمَّ يَسِّرْ لِي مَا أَخَافُ تَعْسِيرَهُ

O Allah: (please do) make easy for me all that which I anticipate to be difficult,

فَإنَّ تَيْسِيرَ مَا أَخَافُ تَعْسِيرَهُ عَلَيْكَ سَهْلٌ يَسِيرٌ،

for it is quite easy for You to make easy for me that which I anticipate to be difficult;

وَسَهِّلْ لِي مَا أَخَافُ حُزُونَتَهُ،

and (please do) facilitate for me that I anticipate to be complicated;

وَنَفِّسْ عَنِّي مَا أَخَافُ ضِيقَهُ،

and give vent to that which I anticipate to be narrow;

وَكُفَّ عَنِّي مَا أَخَافُ هَمَّهُ،

and save me from that which I anticipate to cause me distress;

وَاصْرِفْ عَنِّي مَا أَخَافُ بَلِيَّتَهُ

and guard me from that which I anticipate to cause me misfortune;

يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.

O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

اللّهُمَّ امْلأْ قَلْبِي حُبّاً لَكَ،

O Allah: (please do) fill in my heart with love for You,

وَخَشْيَةً مِنْكَ،

with fear from You,

وَتَصْدِيقاً لَكَ،

with belief in You,

وَإيمَاناً بِكَ،

with faith in You,

وَفَرَقاً مِنْكَ،

with terror from You,

وَشَوْقاً إلَيْكَ،

and with eagerness to You;

يَا ذَا الْجَلالِ وَالإكْرَامِ.

O the Lord of Majesty and Honor.

اللّهُمَّ إنَّ لَكَ حُقُوقاً فَتَصَدَّقْ بِهَا عَلَيَّ،

O Allah: I owe You some rights; so, (please do) consider them alms and excuse me from their liabilities.

وَلِلنَّاسِ قِبَلِي تَبِعَاتٌ فَتَحَمَّلْهَا عَنِّي،

I also owe people some responsibilities; so, (please do) release me from their charges.

وَقَدْ أَوْجَبْتَ لِكُلِّ ضَيْفٍ قِرَىً

You have instructed us to honor our guests;

وَأَنَا ضَيْفُكَ فَاجْعَلْ قِرَايَ اللَّيْلَةَ الْجَنَّةَ،

and I am Your guest at this night; so, (please do) decide Paradise for me as Your honoring me at this night.

يَا وَهَّابَ الْجَنَّةِ،

O the Grantor of Paradise;

يَا وَهَّابَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ،

O the Grantor of forgiveness;

وَلا حَوْلَ وَلا قُوَّةَ إلاَّبِكَ.

and there is no power nor might save with You.

يَا عُدَّتِي فِي كُرْبَتِي،

y¡ `uddaty f¢ kurbat¢

O my means in troubles:

وَيَا صَاحِبِي فِي شِدَّتِي،

wa y¡ ¥¡¦iby f¢ shiddat¢

O my Companion in hardships:

وَيَا وَلِيِّي فِي نِعْمَتِي،

wa y¡ waliyyiy f¢ ni`mat¢

O the Provider of my amenities;

وَيَا غَايَتِي فِي رَغْبَتِي،

wa y¡ gh¡iyaty f¢ raghbat¢

O the utmost of my desires.

أَنْتَ السَّاتِرُ عَوْرَتِي،

anta alss¡tiru `awrat¢

It is You Who conceals my defects,

وَالْمُؤْمِنُ رَوْعَتِي،

wal-mu´minu raw`at¢

Who relieves my apprehensions,

وَالْمُقِيلُ عَثْرَتِي،

wal-muq¢lu `athrat¢

فَاغْفِرْ لِي خَطِيئَتِي.

fa-ghfir l¢ kha§¢iat¢

so, (please do) forgive my sin.

اللّهُمَّ إنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خُشُوعَ الإيمَانِ

all¡humma inny as’aluka khush£`a al’¢m¡ni

O Allah: I pray You for the submission of faith

قَبْلَ خُشُوعِ الذُلَّ فِي النَّارِ،

qabla khush£`i aldhull f¢ alnn¡ri

before I encounter the submission of humiliation in Hellfire.

يَا وَاحِدُ يَا أَحَدُ يَا صَمَدُ

y¡ w¡¦idu y¡ a¦adu y¡ ¥amadu

O the One: O the Absolute: O the Besought of all:

يَا مَنْ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ

y¡ man lam yalid wa lam y£lad

O He Who neither begets nor is He begotten,

وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُواً أَحَدٌ،

wa lam yakun lahu kufwan a¦adun

and there is none like to Him.

يَا مَنْ يُعْطِي مَنْ سَأَلَهُ

y¡ man yu`§y man sa-alahu

O He Who confers upon him who beseeches Him

تَحَنُّناً مِنْهُ وَرَحْمَةً،

ta¦annnan minhu wa ra¦matan

on account of His sympathy and mercy;

وَيَبْتَدِئُ بِالْخَيْرِ مَنْ لَمْ يَسْأَلْهُ

wa yabtadiiu bilkhayri man lam yas-alhu

and He Who initially grants welfare to those who have not asked for it,

تَفَضُّلاً مِنْهُ وَكَرَماً،

tafa¤¤ulan minhu wa karaman

on account of His liberality and generosity.

بِكَرَمِكَ الدَّائِمِ

bikaramika aldd¡’imi

I beseech You in the name of Your endless generosity

صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

that You bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

وَهَبْ لِي رَحْمَةً وَاسِعَةً جَامِعَةً

wa hab l¢ ra¦matan w¡si`atan j¡mi`atan

and bestow upon me with mercy—vast and comprehensive—

أَبْلُغُ بِهَا خَيْرَ الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ.

ablughu bih¡ khayra aldduny¡ wal-¡khirati

by which I can win the welfare of this world as well as the Next World.

اللّهُمَّ إنِّي أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا تُبْتُ إلَيْكَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ عُدْتُ فِيهِ،

all¡humma inn¢ astaghfiruka lim¡ tubtu ilayka minhu thumm `udtu f¢hi

O Allah: I do pray for Your forgiveness for the sins from which I had repented to You but I committed them again.

وَأَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِكُلِّ خَيْرٍ أَرَدْتُ بِهِ وَجْهَكَ

wa astaghfiruka likulli khayrin aradtu bihi wajhaka

And I pray for Your forgiveness for my righteous acts that although I intended them purely for Your sake,

فَخَالَطَنِي فِيهِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ.

fakh¡la§any f¢hi m¡ laysa laka

some purposes that are not intended for You intruded upon them.

اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

وَاعْفُ عَنْ ظُلْمِي وَجُرْمِي

wa`fu `an ¨ulmy wa jurmy

and pardon my transgression and my offenses

بِحِلْمِكَ وَجُودِكَ يَا كَرِيمُ،

bi¦ilmika wa j£dika y¡ kar¢mu

in the name of Your forbearance and magnanimity;

يَامَنْ لا يَخِيبُ سَائِلُهُ،

y¡man l¡ yakh¢bu s¡’iluhu

O the All-generous. O He- one who prays Him will never be disappointed;

وَلا يَنْفَدُ نَائِلُهُ،

wa l¡ yanfadu n¡’iluhu

one who seeks His rewards will never be devoid of goodness.

يَا مَنْ عَلا فَلا شَيْءَ فَوْقَهُ،

y¡ man `al¡ fal¡ shay‘a fawqahu

O He Who is so Elevated that nothing can ever be higher than He is;

وَدَنَا فَلا شَيْءَ دُونَهُ،

wa dan¡ fal¡ shay‘a d£nahu

and Who is so Nigh that nothing can ever be closer that He is:

صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

(please do) send blessings upon Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

وَارْحَمْنِي

war¦amny

and have mercy upon me—

يَا فَالِقَ الْبَحْرِ لِمُوسَى،

y¡ f¡liqa alba¦ri lim£s¡

O He Who split asunder the sea for (Prophet) Moses—

اللَّيْلَةَ اللَّيْلَةَ اللَّيْلَةَ،

allaylata allaylata allaylata

this very night, this very night, this very night,

السَّاعَةَ السَّاعَةَ السَّاعَةَ.

alss¡`ata alss¡`ata alss¡`ata

this very hour, this very hour, this very hour.

اللّهُمَّ طَهِّرْ قَلْبِي مِنَ النِّفَاقِ،

all¡humma §ahhr qalby mina alnnf¡qi

O Allah: (please do) purify my heart from hypocrisy;

وَعَمَلِي مِنَ الرِّيَاءِ،

wa `amaly mina alrriy¡‘i

and purify my acts from showing off;

وَلِسَانِي مِنَ الكَذِبِ،

wa lis¡ny mina alkadhibi

and purity my tongue from telling untruths;

وَعَيْنِي مِنَ الْخِيَانَةِ،

wa `ayny mina alkhiy¡nati

and purify my eye from treason,

فَإنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ خَائِنَةَ الأَعْيُنِ وَمَا تُخْفِي الصُّدُورُ،

fa’innaka ta`lamu kh¡’inata ala`¢uni wa m¡ tukhfy al¥¥ud£ru

for You know the stealYour looks and that which the breasts conceal.

يَا رَبِّ هذَا مَقَامُ الْعَائِذِ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ،

y¡ rabbi h¡dh¡ maq¡mu al`¡’idhi bika mina alnn¡ri

O my Lord: this is the manner of him who seeks Your protection from Hellfire.

هذَا مَقَامُ الْمُسْتَجِيرِ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ،

h¡dh¡ maq¡mu almustaj¢ri bika mina alnn¡ri

This is the manner of him who seeks Your shelter against Hellfire.

هذَا مَقَامُ الْمُسْتَغِيثِ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ،

h¡dh¡ maq¡mu almustagh¢thi bika mina alnn¡ri

This is the manner of him who seeks Your aid against Hellfire.

هذَا مَقَامُ الْهَارِبِ إلَيْكَ مِنَ النَّارِ،

h¡dh¡ maq¡mu alh¡ribi ilayka mina alnn¡ri

This is the manner of him who flees to You from Hellfire.

هذَا مَقَامُ مَنْ يَبُوءُ لَكَ بِخَطِيئَتِهِ،

h¡dh¡ maq¡mu man yab£‘u laka bikha§¢’atihi

This is the manner of him who returns to You carrying his offenses,

وَيَعْتَرِفُ بِذَنْبِهِ،

wa ya`tarifu bidhanbihi

confessing of his sins,

وَيَتُوبُ إلَى رَبِّهِ،

wa yat£bu il¡ rabbihi

and repenting to You—his Lord.

هذَا مَقَامُ الْبَائِسِ الْفَقِيرِ،

h¡dh¡ maq¡mu alb¡’isi alfaq¢ri

This is the manner of the miserable, the poor.

هذَا مَقَامُ الْخَائِفِ الْمُسْتَجِيرِ،

h¡dh¡ maq¡mu alkh¡’ifi almustaj¢ri

This is the manner of the fearful, the seeker of Your refuge.

هذَا مَقَامُ الْمَحْزُونِ الْمَكْرُوبِ،

h¡dh¡ maq¡mu alma¦z£ni almakr£bi

This is the manner of the aggrieved, the distressed.

هذَا مَقَامُ الْمَغْمُومِ الْمَهْمُومِ،

h¡dh¡ maq¡mu almaghm£mi almahm£mi

This is the manner of the depressing, the gloomy.

هذَا مَقَامُ الْغَرِيبِ الْغَرِيقِ،

h¡dh¡ maq¡mu alghar¢bi alghar¢qi

This is the manner of the stranger, the drowned.

هذَا مَقَامُ الْمُسْتَوْحِشِ الْفَرِقِ،

h¡dh¡ maq¡mu almustaw¦ishi alfariqi

This is the manner of the alienated, the frightened.

هذَا مَقَامُ مَنْ لا يَجِدُ لِذَنْبِهِ غَافِراً غَيْرَكَ،

h¡dh¡ maq¡mu man l¡ yajidu lidhanbihi gh¡firan ghayraka

This is the manner of him who cannot find anyone save You to forgive his sins;

وَلا لِضَعْفِهِ مُقَوِّياً إلاَّ أَنْتَ،

wa l¡ li¤a`fihi muqawiyyan ill¡ anta

who cannot find anyone save You to give him power;

وَلا لِهَمِّهِ مُفَرِّجاً سِوَاكَ،

wa l¡ lihammihi mufarrijan siw¡ka

and who cannot find anyone save You to relieve his grief.

يَا اللّهُ يَا كَرِيمُ

y¡ all¡hu y¡ kar¢mu

O Allah, O All-generous:

لا تُحْرِقْ وَجْهِي بِالنَّارِ بَعْدَ سُجُودِي لَكَ وَتَعْفِيرِي

l¡ tu¦riq wajhy bilnn¡ri ba`da suj£dy laka wa ta`f¢ry

(please) do not burn my face with Hellfire after I have prostrated myself before You and I have soiled my face for You.

بِغَيرِ مَنٍّ مِنِّي عَلَيْكَ

bighayri mannin minny `alayka

Of course, this is not a personal favor that I have done to myself;

بَلْ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَالْمَنُّ وَالتَّفَضُّلُ عَلَيَّ،

bal laka al¦amdu wal-mannu wal-ttfa¤¤ulu `alayya

rather it is on account of Your Praiseworthy favor and guidance to me.

ارْحَمْ أَيْ رَبِّ أَيْ رَبِّ أَيْ رَبِّ...

ar¦am ay rabb ay rabb ay rabbi…

So, have mercy, O Lord, O Lord, O Lord…

ضَعْفِي،

¤a`f¢

upon my weakness,

وَقِلَّةَ حِيلَتِي،

wa qillata ¦¢lat¢

upon my confusedness,

وَرِقَّةَ جِلْدِي،

wa riqqata jild¢

upon the softness of my skin,

وَتَبَدُّدَ أَوْصَالِي،

wa tabadduda aw¥¡l¢

upon the separation of my organs,

وَتَنَاثُرَ لَحْمِي وَجِسْمِي وَجَسَدِي،

wa tan¡thura la¦my wa jismy wa jasad¢

upon the dispersal of my flesh, body, and corpse,

وَوَحْدَتِي وَوَحْشَتِي فِي قَبْرِي

wa wa¦daty wa wa¦shaty f¢ qabry

upon my loneliness and lonesomeness in my grave,

وَجَزَعِي مِنْ صَغِيرِ الْبَلاءِ،

wa jaza`y min ¥agh¢ri albal¡‘i

and upon my anxiety at the least misfortune that inflicts me.

أَسْأَلُكَ يَا رَبِّ قُرَّةَ الْعَيْنِ وَالإغْتِبَاطَ

as’aluka y¡ rabbi qurrata al`ayni wal-¡ghtib¡§a

I beseech You, O Lord, for delight and happiness

يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ وَالنَّدَامَةِ،

yawma al¦asrati wal-nnd¡mati

on the Day of regret and remorse.

بَيِّضْ وَجْهِي يَا رَبِّ يَوْمَ تَسْوَدُّ الْوُجُوهُ،

bayyi¤ wajhy y¡ rabbi yawma taswaddu alwuj£hu

(Please do) whiten my face, O Lord, when some faces will be blackened.

آمِنِّي مِنَ الْفَزَعِ الأَكْبَرِ،

¡minny mina alfaza`i alakbari

(Please do) secure me against the Supreme Horror.

أَسْأَلُكَ الْبُشْرَى يَوْمَ تُقَلَّبُ الْقُلُوبُ وَالأَبْصَارُ،

as’aluka albushr¡ yawma tuqallabu alqul£bu wal-ab¥¡ru

I beseech You for good tidings when hearts and sights shall be turned about

وَالْبُشْرَى عِنْدَ فِرَاقِ الدُّنْيَا.

wal-bushr¡ `inda fir¡qi aldduny¡

and for good tidings when I depart this life.

الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الَّذِي أَرْجُوهُ عَوْناً لِي فِي حَيَاتِي،

al¦amdu lill¡hi alladhy arj£hu `awnan l¢ f¢ ¦ay¡t¢

All praise be to Allah Whom I hope for aiding me in my life

وَأُعِدُّهُ ذُخْراً لِيَوْمِ فَاقَتِي.

wa a’u`idduhu dhukhran liyawmi f¡qat¢

and Whom I want to act as my Provision on the day of my neediness.

الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الَّذِي أَدْعُوهُ وَلا أَدْعُو غَيْرَهُ،

al¦amdu lill¡hi alladhy ad`£hu wa l¡ ad`w ghayrahu

All praise be to Allah Whom alone do I beseech and I never beseech anyone rather than Him;

وَلَوْ دَعَوْتُ غَيْرَهُ لَخَيَّبَ دُعَائِي.

wa law da`awtu ghayrahu lakhayyaba du`¡’y

and even if I beseech anyone else, he will definitely let me down.

الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الَّذِي أَرْجُوهُ وَلا أَرْجُو غَيْرَهُ،

al¦amdu lill¡hi alladhy arj£hu wa l¡ arjw ghayrahu

All praise be to Allah for Whom I hope and I never hope for anyone rather than Him;

وَلَوْ رَجَوْتُ غَيْرَهُ لأَخْلَفَ رَجَائِي.

wa law rajawtu ghayrahu la-akhlafa raj¡’y

and even if I hope for anyone else, he will definitely disappoint me.

الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الْمُنْعِمِ الْمُحْسِنِ

al¦amdu lill¡hi almun`imi almu¦sini

All praise be to Allah, the All-benefactor, the All-donor,

الْمُجْمِلِ الْمُفْضِلِ

almujmili almuf¤ili

the All-favorer, the All-liberal,

ذِي الْجَلالِ وَالإكْرَامِ،

dhy aljal¡li wal-ikr¡mi

the Lord of Majesty and Honor,

وَلِيُّ كُلِّ نِعْمَةٍ،

waliyyi kulli ni`matin

the Source of all bounties,

وَصَاحِبُ كُلِّ حَسَنَةٍ،

wa ¥¡¦ibu kulli ¦asanatin

And the Cause of all good deeds,

وَمُنْتَهَى كُلِّ رَغْبَةٍ،

wa muntah¡ kulli raghbatin

the Ultimate Goal of all desires,

وَقَاضِي كُلِّ حَاجَةٍ.

wa q¡¤y kulli ¦¡jatin

and the Answerer of all needs.

اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

وَارْزُقْنِي الْيَقِينَ وَحُسْنَ الظَّنِّ بِكَ،

warzuqny aliyaq¢na wa ¦usna al¨¨nni bika

and grant me conviction and having good idea about You;

وَأَثْبِتْ رَجَاءَكَ فِي قَلْبِي،

wa athbit raj¡‘aka f¢ qalb¢

and fix my hope for You in my heart;

وَاقْطَعْ رَجَائِي عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ

w¡q§a` raj¡iy `amman siw¡ka

and deprive me of putting my hope in anyone other than You,

حَتَّى لا أَرْجُوَ غَيْرَكَ وَلا أَثِقَ إلاَّ بِكَ،

¦att¡ l¡ arjwa ghayraka wa l¡ athiqa ill¡ bika

so that I shall hope for none but You and I shall trust none but You.

يَا لَطِيفاً لِمَا تَشَاءُ

y¡ la§¢fan lim¡ tash¡‘u

O He Who is Benignant to whom He pleases:

أُلْطُفْ لِي فِي جَمِيعِ أَحْوَالِي بِمَا تُحِبُّ وَتَرْضَى،

al§uf l¢ f¢ jam¢`i a¦wal-y bim¡ tu¦ibbu wa tar¤¡

(please do) have benignity towards me in all my manners in the very way that You like and please.

يَا رَبِّ إنِّي ضَعِيفٌ عَلَى النَّارِ فَلا تُعَذِّبْنِي بِالنَّارِ،

y¡ rabbi inn¢ ¤a`¢fun `al¡ alnn¡ri fal¡ tu`adhdhibny bilnn¡ri

O my Lord: verily, I am too weak to encounter Your Fire; therefore, (please) do not punish me with Your Fire.

يَا رَبِّ ارْحَمْ دُعَائِي وَتَضَرُّعِي

y¡ rabbi ar¦am du`¡iy wa ta¤arru`y

O my Lord: (please do) have mercy upon my prayers, my earnest imploring,

وَخَوْفِي وَذُلِّي وَمَسْكَنَتِي

wa khawfy wa dhully wa maskanaty

my fear, my humiliation, my neediness,

وَتَعْوِيذِي وَتَلْوِيذِي،

wa ta`w¢dhy wa talw¢dh¢

my seeking Your protection, and my seeking Your refuge.

يَا رَبِّ إنِّي ضَعِيفٌ عَنْ طَلَبِ الدُّنْيَا

y¡ rabbi inn¢ ¤a`¢fun `an §alabi aldduny¡

O my Lord: I am too weak to seek earnings in this world

وَأَنْتَ وَاسِعٌ كَرِيمٌ،

wa anta w¡si`un kar¢mun

and You are Ample-giving and All-generous.

أَسْأَلُكَ يَا رَبِّ بِقُوَّتِكَ عَلَى ذلِكَ،

as’aluka y¡ rabbi biq££tika `al¡ dhlika

I beseech You, O my Lord, in the name of Your power over that,

وَقُدْرَتِكَ عَلَيْهِ،

wa qudratika `alayhi

and Your supremacy over it,

وَغِنَاكَ عَنْهُ،

wa ghin¡ka `anhu

and Your dispensing with it,

وَحَاجَتِي إلَيْهِ،

wa ¦¡jaty ilayhi

and my urgent need for it

أَنْ تَرْزُقَنِي فِي عَامِي هذَا،

an tarzuqany f¢ `¡my h¡dh¡

that You grant me sustenance in this year,

وَشَهْرِي هذَا،

wa shahry h¡dh¡

in this month,

وَيَوْمِي هذَا،

wa yawmy h¡dh¡

on this day,

وَسَاعَتِي هذِهِ

wa s¡`aty hadhihi

at this hour—

رِزْقاً تُغْنِينِي بِهِ عَنْ تَكَلُّفِ مَا فِي أَيْدِي النَّاسِ

rizqan tughn¢ny bihi `an takallfi m¡ f¢ a¢dy alnn¡si

sustenance by which You may make me dispense with what the others possess,

مِنْ رِزْقِكَ الْحَلالِ الطَّيِّبِ،

min rizqika al¦al¡li al§§iyyibi

from Your sustenance, legal and nice.

أَيْ رَبِّ مِنْكَ أَطْلُبُ،

a¢ rabb minka a§lubu

O my Lord: from You do I ask;

وَإلَيْكَ أَرْغَبُ،

wa ilayka arghabu

and for You do I desire;

وَإيَّاكَ أَرْجُو،

wa ‘iyy¡ka arj£

and for You do I hope;

وَأَنْتَ أَهْلُ ذلِكَ

wa anta ahlu dhalika

and You are the worthiest of hope.

لا أَرْجُو غَيْرَكَ

wa anta ahlu dhalika l¡ arj£ ghayraka

I hope for none but You

وَلا أَثِقُ إلاَّ بِكَ

wa l¡ athiqu ill¡ bika

and I trust in none but You.

يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ،

y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na

O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy:

أَيْ رَبِّ ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي

ay rabbi ¨alamtu nafsy

O my Lord: I have wronged myself;

فَاغْفِرْ لِي وَارْحَمْنِي وَعَافِنِي،

faghfir l¢ w¡r¦amny wa `¡fin¢

so, (please do) forgive me, have mercy upon me, and grant me good health.

يَا سَامِعَ كُلِّ صَوْتٍ،

y¡ s¡mi`a kull ¥awtin

O the Hearer of all sounds;

وَيَا جَامِعَ كُلِّ فَوْتٍ،

wa y¡ j¡mi`a kull fawtin

O He Who takes precedence over everything that passes away;

وَيَا بَارِئَ النُّفُوسِ بَعْدَ الْمَوْتِ،

wa y¡ b¡riia alnnf£si ba`da almawti

O the Reviver of all souls after death;

يَا مَنْ لا تَغْشَاهُ الظُّلُمَاتُ،

y¡ man l¡ taghsh¡hu al¨¨ulum¡tu

O He Whom is not screened by murk;

وَلا تَشْتَبِهُ عَلَيْهِ الأَصْوَاتُ،

wa l¡ tashtabihu `alayhi ala¥w¡tu

O He Whom is not made confused by sounds;

وَلا يَشْغَلُهُ شَيْءٌ عَنْ شَيْءٍ،

wa l¡ yashghaluhu shay‘un `an shay‘in

O He Whom is not engaged by something against another thing;

أَعْطِ مُحَمَّداً صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ أَفْضَلَ مَا سَأَلَكَ،

a`§i mu¦ammadan ¥all¡ all¡hu `alayhi wa ¡lihi af¤ala m¡ sa-alaka

(please do) grant Mu¦ammad—peace be upon him and his Family—the best of all that for which he has besought You

وَأَفْضَلَ مَا سُئِلْتَ لَه،

wa af¤ala m¡ su’ilta lahu

and the best of all that which has been asked from You for him

وَأَفْضَلَ مَا أَنْتَ مَسْؤُولٌ لَهُ إلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ،

wa af¤ala m¡ anta mas'£lun lahu il¡ yawmi alqiy¡mati

and the best all that which You shall be asked for him up to the Resurrection Day;

وَهَبْ لِيَ الْعَافِيَةَ حَتَّى تُهَنِّئَنِي الْمَعِيشَةَ،

wa hab liya al`¡fiyata ¦att¡ tuhanniany alma`¢shata

and grant me good health so that I may enjoy my life;

وَاخْتِمْ لِي بِخَيْرٍ حَتَّى لا تَضُرَّنِي الذُّنُوبُ.

w¡khtim l¢ bikhayrin ¦att¡ l¡ ta¤urrny aldhdhun£bu

and end my life with a happy end so that my sins may not injure me.

اللّهُمَّ رَضِّنِي بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لِي حَتَّى لا أَسْأَلَ أَحَداً شَيْئاً.

all¡humma ra¤¤iny bim¡ qasamta l¢ ¦att¡ l¡ asala a¦adan shay’an

O Allah: (please do) make me satisfied with that which You have decided for me so that I will not ask anyone else for anything.

اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

وَافْتَحْ لِي خَزَائِنَ رَحْمَتِكَ،

wafta¦ l¢ khaz¡’ina ra¦matika

And open to me the stores of Your mercy

وَارْحَمْنِي رَحْمَةً لا تُعَذِّبُنِي بَعْدَهَا أَبَداً فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ،

war¦amny ra¦matan l¡ tu`adhdhibuny ba`dah¡ abadan f¢ aldduny¡ wal-¡khirati

and cover me with a mercy from You owing to which You will not punish me neither in this world nor in the Hereafter;

وَارْزُقْنِي مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْوَاسِعِ رِزْقاً حَلالاً طَيِّباً

warzuqny min fa¤lika alw¡si`i rizqan ¦al¡lan §ayyiban

and grant me from Your limitless favor sustenance, legal and nice,

لا تُفْقِرُنِي إلَى أَحَدٍ بَعْدَهُ سِوَاكَ،

l¡ tufqiruny il¡ a¦adin ba`dahu siw¡ka

owing to which You will make me dispense with anyone other than You;

تَزِيدُنِي بِذلِكَ شُكْراً،

taz¢duny bidhalika shukran

increasing my gratitude to You,

وَإلَيْكَ فَاقَةً وَفَقْراً،

wa ilayka f¡qatan wa faqran

and my neediness and submission before You,

وَبِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ غِنَىً وَتَعَفُّفاً،

wa bika `amman siw¡ka ghinan wa ta`affufan

and increasing my dispensing with and doing without everyone save You.

يَا مُحْسِنُ يَا مُجْمِلُ

y¡ mu¦sinu y¡ mujmilu

O the All-benefactor; O the All-donor;

يَا مُنْعِمُ يَا مُفْضِلُ

y¡ mun`imu y¡ muf¤ilu

O the All-favorer; O the All-liberal,

يَا مَلِيكُ يَا مُقْتَدِرُ

y¡ mal¢ku y¡ muqtadiru

O the All-omnipotent; O the All-sovereign;

صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

(please do) send blessings upon Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

وَاكْفِنِي الْمُهِمَّ كُلَّهُ،

w¡kfiny almuhimma kullahu

and relieve me from all grievances;

وَاقْضِ لِي بِالْحُسْنَى،

waq¤i l¢ bil¦usn¡

and decide the most excellent for me;

وَبَارِكْ لِي فِي جَمِيعِ أُمُورِي

wa b¡rik l¢ f¢ jam¢`i a’um£ry

and bless all my affairs;

وَاقْضِ لِي جَمِيعَ حَوَائِجِي.

waq¤i l¢ jam¢`a ¦aw¡’ij¢

and settle all my needs.

اللّهُمَّ يَسِّرْ لِي مَا أَخَافُ تَعْسِيرَهُ

all¡humma yassir l¢ m¡ akh¡fu ta`s¢rahu

O Allah: (please do) make easy for me all that which I anticipate to be difficult,

فَإنَّ تَيْسِيرَ مَا أَخَافُ تَعْسِيرَهُ عَلَيْكَ سَهْلٌ يَسِيرٌ،

fa’inna tays¢ra m¡ akh¡fu ta`s¢rahu `alayka sahlun yas¢run

for it is quite easy for You to make easy for me that which I anticipate to be difficult;

وَسَهِّلْ لِي مَا أَخَافُ حُزُونَتَهُ،

wa sahhil l¢ m¡ akh¡fu ¦uz£natahu

and (please do) facilitate for me that I anticipate to be complicated;

وَنَفِّسْ عَنِّي مَا أَخَافُ ضِيقَهُ،

wa naffis `ann¢ m¡ akh¡fu ¤¢qahu

and give vent to that which I anticipate to be narrow;

وَكُفَّ عَنِّي مَا أَخَافُ هَمَّهُ،

wa kuffa `ann¢ m¡ akh¡fu hammahu

and save me from that which I anticipate to cause me distress;

وَاصْرِفْ عَنِّي مَا أَخَافُ بَلِيَّتَهُ

w¡¥rif `ann¢ m¡ akh¡fu baliyyatahu

and guard me from that which I anticipate to cause me misfortune;

يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.

y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na

O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

اللّهُمَّ امْلأْ قَلْبِي حُبّاً لَكَ،

all¡humma amla’ qalby ¦ubban laka

O Allah: (please do) fill in my heart with love for You,

وَخَشْيَةً مِنْكَ،

wa khashiyatan minka

with fear from You,

وَتَصْدِيقاً لَكَ،

wa ta¥d¢qan laka

with belief in You,

وَإيمَاناً بِكَ،

wa ‘¢m¡nan bika

with faith in You,

وَفَرَقاً مِنْكَ،

wa faraqan minka

with terror from You,

وَشَوْقاً إلَيْكَ،

wa shawqan ilayka

and with eagerness to You;

يَا ذَا الْجَلالِ وَالإكْرَامِ.

y¡ dhaljal¡li wal-ikr¡mi

O the Lord of Majesty and Honor.

اللّهُمَّ إنَّ لَكَ حُقُوقاً فَتَصَدَّقْ بِهَا عَلَيَّ،

all¡humma inna laka ¦uq£qan fata¥addaq bih¡ `alayya

O Allah: I owe You some rights; so, (please do) consider them alms and excuse me from their liabilities.

وَلِلنَّاسِ قِبَلِي تَبِعَاتٌ فَتَحَمَّلْهَا عَنِّي،

wa lilnn¡si qibaly tabi`¡tun fata¦ammalh¡ `ann¢

I also owe people some responsibilities; so, (please do) release me from their charges.

وَقَدْ أَوْجَبْتَ لِكُلِّ ضَيْفٍ قِرَىً

wa qad awjabta likulli ¤ayfin qiran

You have instructed us to honor our guests;

وَأَنَا ضَيْفُكَ فَاجْعَلْ قِرَايَ اللَّيْلَةَ الْجَنَّةَ،

wa ana ¤ayfuka faj`al qir¡ya allaylata aljannata

and I am Your guest at this night; so, (please do) decide Paradise for me as Your honoring me at this night.

يَا وَهَّابَ الْجَنَّةِ،

y¡ wahh¡ba aljannati

O the Grantor of Paradise;

يَا وَهَّابَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ،

y¡ wahh¡ba almaghfirati

O the Grantor of forgiveness;

وَلا حَوْلَ وَلا قُوَّةَ إلاَّبِكَ.

wa l¡ ¦awla wa l¡ quwwata ill¡ bika

and there is no power nor might save with You.
