Verily Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet. “O you who believe, send blessing on him and greet him with a worthy greeting”. Here I am to obey your command O Lord, to respond and to glorify You. O Allah send blessings on Muhammad and make Muhammad and his children happy as You blessed and made happy Ibrahim and the children of Ibrahim, verily You are worthy of praise and glory. O Allah surround Muhammad and the children of Muhammad with Your love and mercy as You loved and took care of Ibrahim and the children of Ibrahim,verily You are worthy of praise and glory.

O Allah let Muhammad and the children of Muhammad be in peace as You kept Nuh in Peace in the worlds. O Allah give grace to Muhammad and the children of Muhammad as You gave grace to Musa and Harun. Allah send blessings on Muhammad and on the children of Muhammad because through them You distinguished us. O Allah send blessings o Muhammad and the children of Muhammad because through them You showed us the right path.

O Allah send blessings on Muhammad and the children of Muhammad and call them to a praised position which the people in every age may find enviable. Peace be on Muhammad and o his children, at every sunrise and every sunset. Peace be on Muhammad and on his children, whenever eyes blink or flash. Peace be on Muhammad and on his children, whenever Peace is said or mentioned. Peace be on Muhammad and on his children, as often as the angles glorify Allah or sanctify Him. Peace be on Muhammad and on his children in the beginning, and peace be on Muhammad and his children in the end, and peace be on Muhammad and his children in this world and in the hereafter. O Allah, the Lord of the sacred city and the Lord of the rukn (the corner of the holy Kab-ah where the black stone is lyings) and the maqam ( the place in the holy Kab-ah where prophet Ibrahim used to pray ), and the Lord of the lawful and the unlawful, convey our salam to Your prophet, Muhammad.

O Allah give Muhammad beauty and brilliance, elegance and blooming freshness, joy and satisfaction, honour and dignity, enviable status, means to approach (You), position, authority, distinction, highest rank, and exclusive rights to recommend (our cases) before You on the day of resurrection, a peculiar and singular privilege, shared by no other among Your creation, You bestowed on Muhammad. The good that You gave him had not been given to anyone, much more superior in number and power, countless, no other then You can comprehend.

O Allah send blessings on Muhammad and the children of Muhammad, more pleasant, more pure, more meaningful, more prospering, and more excellent than You ever blessed anyone from the beginning to the end, O the most merciful.

O Allah send blessings on Ali, the commander of the faithful, and be a friend of him who is his friend, be an opponent of him who is his opponent, and whoso took part in acts of hostility against him in order to shed his blood may be severely punished.

O Allah send blessings o Fatimah, the daughter of You prophet, Muhammad (peace be on him and on his children), and curse those who displeased him by hurting her.

O Allah send blessings on Hasan and Husayn, the leaders of the Muslims, and be a friend of him who is their friend, be an opponent of him who is their opponent, and whoso took part in acts of hostility against them in order to shed their blood may be severely punished.

O Allah send blessings on Ali son of Husayn, the leader of Muslims, be a friend of him who is his friend, be an opponent of him who is his opponent and whoso did injustice to him may be severely punished.

 O Allah send blessings on Muhammad son of Ali, the leader of the Muslims, and be a friend of him who is his friend, be a opponent of him who is his opponent and whose did injustice to him may be severely punished.

O Allah send blessings on Jafar son of Muhammad, the leader of the Muslims, and be a friend of him who is his friend , be an opponent of him who is his opponent, and whoso do injustice to him who is his opponent, and whoso took part in acts of hostility against him in order to shed his blood may be severely punished.

O Allah send blessings on Musa son of Jafar, the leader of the Muslims, and be a friend of him who is his friend , be an opponent of him who is his opponent, and whoso do injustice to him who is his opponent, and whoso took part in acts of hostility against him in order to shed his blood may be severely punished.

O Allah send blessings on Ali son of Musa, the leader of the Muslims, and be a friend of him who is his friend , be an opponent of him who is his opponent, and whoso took part in acts of hostility against him in order to shed his blood may be severely punished.

 O Allah send blessings on Muhammad son of Ali, the leader of the Muslims, and be a friend of him who is his friend , be an opponent of him who is his opponent, and whoso do injustice to him may be severely punished.

O Allah send blessings on Ali son of Muhammad, the leader of the Muslims, and be a friend of him who is his friend , be an opponent of him who is his opponent, and whoso did injustice to him may be severely punished.

O Allah send blessings on Hasan son of Ali, the leader of the Muslims, and be a friend of him who is his friend , be an opponent of him who is his opponent, and whoso do injustice to him may be severely punished.

O Allah send blessings on the successor, who came after, the leader of the Muslims, and be a friend of him who is his friend, be an opponent of him who is his opponent, and please send him back as soon as possible in this world. O Allah send blessings on the off-spring of Your Prophet. O Allah chose the successors of Your prophet from among his Ahl ul Bayt. O Allah firmly establish them in this world. O Allah let us follow, support and help them in the just cause, secretly and openly. O Allah claim retribution, requital, and return of their spilled blood on their behalf; and turn off from us and them and from all faithful men and women the rude power of evil (the tyrants the insolent imposters and the blood thirsty beasts) may inflict, (because) You alone can seize them by the fore lock and punish them, verily You decisively set a warning example and conclusively inflicting penalty.]

(Then recite the following) :

[O My means in my troubles! O my companion in my difficulties! O my guardian in my happiness! O the ultimate of my inclinations! You cover up my shortcomings, afford security in the event of crises and fearful disasters, therefore overlook my transgression. O the most merciful.

Then say

O Allah I call on You about the troubles which can not be driven off by anyone, other than You, about the kindness which does not come forward except from You, about the anguish which does not pass away unless be put to flight by You, about the affection which does not grow intense unless You give reins to it; about the wants and needs which remains unfulfilled unless You satisfy them. O Allah, so as it was Your pleasure that You allowed me to make a request to treat me mercifully on account of Your glory, I repeat frequently, then O my Master it must surely have been Your intention that what I ask for would be given, what I hope for would be made available in large quantity, of better quality, regularly, and would be kept safe from that which I avoid and run from unto You. May be I do not deserve to get Your mercy, but certainly Your mercy has the right to reach me and promote my cause. May be I am not entitled to satisfaction, but Your generosity and kindness is able to encompass all things, therefore it will surely cover me also. O my Allah, O compassionate, I beseech You in the name of Your kindest disposition to send blessings on Muhammad and on his children, and remove my hardships, dispel my sorrows and troubles, have mercy on me through Your mercy and keep me alive amidst Your liberal bounties. Verily You are the hearer of prayer, nigh, responsive.

Transliteration

INNALLAAH WA MALAAA-IKATAHOOYUS’ALLOONA A’LAN NABIYY:
YAA AYYUHAL LAD’EENA AAMANOO S’ALLOO A’LAYHI WA SALLIMOOTASLEEMAA LABBAYKA YAA RABBI WA SAA’- DAYKA WA SUBH’AANAKA ALLAAHUMMA S’ALLI A’LAA MUH’AMMADIN WA AALI MUH’AMMAD WA BAARIK A’LAA MUH’AMMAD WA AALI MUH’AMMAD KAMAA S’ALLAYTA WA BAARAKTA A’LAA IBRAAHEEM WA AALI IBRAAHEEM INNAKA H’AMEEDUN MAJEED ALLAAHUMMAR-H’AM MUH’AMMADAN WA AALI MUH’AMMAD KAMAA RAH’ITA IBRAAHEEM WA AALI IBRAHEEM INNAKA H’AMEEDUN MAJEED ALLAAHUMMA SALLIM A’LAA MUH’AMMAD WA AALI MUH’AMMAD KAMAA SALLAMTA A’LAA NOOH’IN FIL A’ALAMEEN  ALLAAHUMMAM –NUN A’LAA MUH’AMMADIN WA AALI MUH’AMMAD KAMAA MANANTA A’LAA MOOSAA WA HAROON

YAA U’DDATEE FEE KURBATEE WA YAA S’AAH’IBEE FEE SHIDDATEE WA YAA WALIYYEE FEE NIA’-MATEE WA YAA GHAAYATEE FEE RAGHBATEE ANTAS SAATIRU A’WRATEE WAL MOO-MINU RAW-A’TEE WAL MUQEELU A’THRATEE FAGHFIR LEE KHAT’EE-ATEE YAA ARH’AMAR RAAH’IMEEN

(Then say):

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AD-O’OKA LI-HAMMIN LAA YUFARRIJUHU GHAYRUKA WA LI-RAH’MATIN LAA TUNAALU ILLAA BIKA WA LI-KARBIN LAA YAKSHIFUHU ILLAA ANTA WA LI-RAGHBATIN BIKA WA LI-H’AAJATIN LAA YAQZ”EEHAA ILLAA ANTA

إنّ اللّهَ وَمَلائِكَتَهُ يُصَلّونَ عَلَى النّبِيّ

inna allaha wa mala’ikatahu yusalluna `ala alnnabiyyi

Verily, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet,

يَا أَيّهَا الّذِينَ آمَنُوَا صَلّوَا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلّمُوَا تَسْلِيماً،

ya ayyuha alladhena amanu sallu `alayhi wa sallmu tasleman

O you who believe: Call for Divine blessings on him and salute him with a becoming salutation

لَبّيْكَ يَارَبّ وَسَعْدَيْكَ وَسُبْحَانَكَ.

labbayka ya rabbi wa sa`dayka wa subhanaka

Here I am at Your service, my Lord! Doing that which pleases You, and glory be to You.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ

allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

وَبَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ

wa barik `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

And send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

كَمَا صَلّيْتَ وَبَارَكْتَ عَلَى إبْرَاهِيمَ وَآلِ إبْرَاهِيمَ

kama sallayta wa barakta `ala ibrahema wa ali ibrahema

In the same way as You have blessed and conferred benedictions upon (Prophet) Abraham and the Household of Abraham,

إنّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ.

innaka hamedun majedun

You are verily worthy of all praise and full of all glory.

اللّهُمّ ارْحَمْ مُحَمّداً وَآلَ مُحَمّدٍ

allahumma irham muhammadan wa ala muhammadin

O Allah: (please do) have mercy upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

كَمَا رَحِمْتَ إبْرَاهِيمَ وَآلَ إبْرَاهِيمَ

kama rahimta ibrahema wa ala ibrahema

As You had mercy upon (Prophet) Abraham and the Household of Abraham,

إنّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ.

innaka hamedun majedun

You are verily worthy of all praise and full of all glory.

اللّهُمّ سَلّمْ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ

allahumma sallm `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

O Allah: (please do) send peace upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

كَمَا سَلّمْتَ عَلَى نُوحٍ فِي العَالَمِينَ.

kama sallmta `ala nuhin fe al`alamena

As You sent peace upon Noah among all the creatures.

اللّهُمّ امْنُنْ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ

allahumma amnun `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

O Allah: (please do) confer favors on Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

كَمَا مَنَنْتَ عَلَى مُوسَى وَهَارُونَ.

kama mananta `ala musa wa haruna

As You conferred a favor upon (Prophets) Moses and Aaron.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ كَمَا شَرّفْتَنَا بِهِ.

allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin kama sharrftana bihi

O Allah: (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad as You have honored us by him.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ كَمَا هَدَيْتَنَا بِهِ.

allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin kama hadaytana bihi

O Allah: (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad as You have guided us through him.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ

allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

وَابْعَثْهُ مَقَاماً مَحْمُوداً يَغْبِطُهُ بِهِ الأَوّلُونَ وَالآخِرُونَ،

wab`athhu maqaman mahmudan yaghbi§uhu bihi alawuluna wal-akhiruna

And send his a praiseworthy standing due to which all the past and the coming generations shall covet him.

عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِهِ السّلامُ كُلّمَا طَلَعَتْ شَمْسٌ أَوْ غَرَبَتْ،

`ala muhammadin wa alihi alssalamu kullma §ala`at shamsun aw gharabat

Upon Muhammad and his Household be peace whenever the sun rises and sets.

عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِهِ السّلامُ كُلّمَا طَرَفَتْ عَيْنٌ أَوْ بَرَقَتْ،

`ala muhammadin wa alihi alssalamu kullma §arafat `aynun aw baraqat

Upon Muhammad and his Household be peace whenever an eye twinkles or glitters.

عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِهِ السّلامُ كُلّمَا ذُكِرَ السّلامُ،

`ala muhammadin wa alihi alssalamu kullma dhukira alssalamu

Upon Muhammad and his Household be peace whenever peace is mentioned.

عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِهِ السّلامُ كُلّمَا سَبّحَ اللّهَ مَلَكٌ أَوْ قَدّسَهُ،

`ala muhammadin wa alihi alssalamu kullma sabbaha allaha malakun aw qaddasahu

Upon Muhammad and his Household be peace whenever an angel glorifies or exalts Allah.

السّلامُ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِهِ فِي الأَوّلِينَ،

alssalamu `ala muhammadin wa alihi fe al-awwalena

Peace be upon Muhammad and his Household among the past generations.

وَالسّلامُ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِهِ فِي الآخِرِينَ،

wa alssalamu `ala muhammadin wa alihi fe alakhirena

Peace be upon Muhammad and his Household among the last generations.

وَالسّلامُ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِهِ فِي الدّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ.

wa alssalamu `ala muhammadin wa alihi fe alddunya wal-akhirati

Peace be upon Muhammad and his Household in this world and in the Hereafter.

اللّهُمّ رَبّ البَلَدِ الحَرَامِ،

allahumma rabba albaladi alharami

O Allah; Lord of the Holy Town,

وَرَبّ الرّكْنِ وَالمَقَامِ،

wa rabba alrrukni wal-maqami

And Lord of the Rukn and the Maqam,

وَرَبّ الحِلّ وَالحَرَامِ

wa rabba alhill wal-harami

And the Lord of legality and sanctuary,

أَبْلِغْ مُحَمّداً نَبِيّكَ عَنَّا السّلامَ.

abligh muhammadan nabiyyaka `anna alssalama

(Please do) convey our greetings to Muhammad, Your Prophet.

اللّهُمّ أَعْطِ مُحَمّداً مِنَ البَهَاءِ وَالنّضْرَةِ

allahumma a`§i muhammadan mina albaha‘i wal-nna¤rati

O Allah: (please do) grant Muhammad brilliance and bloom

وَالسّرُورِ وَالكَرَامَةِ وَالغِبْطَةِ وَالوَسِيلَةِ

wal-ssururi wal-karamati wal-ghib§ati wal-waselati

And delight and honor and happiness and right of intervention

وَالمَنْزِلَةِ وَالمَقَامِ وَالشّرَفِ وَالرّفْعَةِ

wal-manzilati wal-maqami wal-shsharafi wal-rrif`ati

And (exalted) rank and (exalted) position and nobility and elevation

وَالشّفَاعَةِ عِنْدَكَ يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ

wal-shshafa`ati `indaka yawma alqiyamati

And right of intercession before You at the Resurrection Day

أَفْضَلَ مَا تُعْطِي أَحَداً مِنْ خَلْقِكَ،

af¤ala ma tu`§y ahadan min khalqika

The best that You grant any of Your creations.

وَأَعْطِ مُحَمّداً فَوْقَ مَا تُعْطِي الخَلائِقَ

wa a`§i muhammadan fawqa ma tu`§y alkhala’iqa

And (please) grant Muhammad good that is more than what You grant Your creatures

مِنَ الخَيْرِ أَضْعَافاً كَثِيرَةً لا يُحْصِيهَا غَيْرُكَ.

mina alkhayri a¤`afan katheratan la yuhseha ghayruka

With many folds that none can count save You.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ

allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

أَطْيَبَ وَأَطْهَرَ وَأَزْكَى وَأَنْمَى

a§iyaba wa a§hara wa azka wa anma

With the most excellent, the purest, the most increasing, the most growing

وَأَفْضَلَ مَا صَلّيْتَ عَلَى أَحَدٍ مِنَ الأَوّلِينَ وَالآخِرِينَ

wa af¤ala ma sallayta `ala ahadin mina al-awwalena wal-akhirena

And the best blessings that You have ever conferred on anyone from the past and the coming generations

وَعَلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.

wa `ala ahadin min khalqika ya arhama alrrahimena

And on anyone of Your created beings; O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى عَلِيّ أَمِيرِ المُؤْمِنِينَ،

allahumma salli `ala `aliyy ameri almu´minena

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon `Ale, the Commander of the Believers,

وَوَالِ مَنْ وَالاهُ،

wa wal-i man wal-ahu

And be the supporter of anyone who supports him,

وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ،

wa `adi man `adahu

And be the enemy of anyone who provoke his enmity,

وَضَاعِفِ العَذَابَ عَلَى مَنْ شَرِكَ فِي دَمِهِ.

wa ¤a`ifi al`adhaba `ala man sharika fe damihi

And inflict double chastisement on anyone who had a hand in the shedding of his blood.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ نَبِيّكَ مُحَمّدٍ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ السّلامُ،

allahumma salli `ala fa§imata binti nabiyyika muhammadin `alayhi wa alihi alssalamu

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Fa§imah, the daughter of Your Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his Household,

وَوَالِ مَنْ وَالاهَا،

wa wal-i man wal-aha

And be the supporter of those who support her,

وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهَا،

wa `adi man `adaha

And be the enemy of him who provoke her enmity,

وَضَاعِفِ العَذَابَ عَلَى مَنْ ظَلَمَهَا،

wa ¤a`ifi al`adhaba `ala man ¨alamaha

And inflict double chastisement on those who wronged her.

وَالعَنْ مَنْ آذَى نَبِيّكَ فِيهَا.

wal`an man adha nabiyyka feha

And curse those who injured Your Prophet as they injured her.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى الحَسَنِ وَالحُسَيْنِ إمَامَيِ المُسْلِمِينَ،

allahumma salli `ala alhasani wal-husayni imamayi almuslimena

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon al-°asan and al-°usayn, the two leaders of the Muslims,

وَوَالِ مَنْ وَالاهُمَا،

wa wal-i man wal-ahuma

And be the supporter of anyone who supports them,

وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُمَا،

wa `adi man `adahuma

And be the enemy of anyone who provoke their enmity,

وَضَاعِفِ العَذَابَ عَلَى مَنْ شَرِكَ فِي دِمَائِهِمَا.

wa ¤a`ifi al`adhaba `ala man sharika fe dima’ihima

And inflict double chastisement on anyone who had a hand in the shedding of their blood.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى عَلِيّ بْنِ الحُسَيْنِ إمَامِ المُسْلِمِينَ،

allahumma salli `ala `aliyy bni alhusayni imami almuslimena

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon `Ale ibn al-°usayn, the leader of the Muslims,

وَوَالِ مَنْ وَالاهُ،

wa wal-i man wal-ahu

And be the supporter of anyone who supports him,

وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ،

wa `adi man `adahu

And be the enemy of anyone who invokes his enmity,

وَضَاعِفِ العَذَابَ عَلَى مَنْ ظَلَمَهُ.

wa ¤a`ifi al`adhaba `ala man ¨alamahu

And inflict double chastisement upon anyone who wronged him.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدِ بْنِ عَلِيّ إمَامِ المُسْلِمِينَ،

allahumma salli `ala muhammadi bni `aliyy imami almuslimena

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Muhammad ibn `Ale, the leader of the Muslims,

وَوَالِ مَنْ وَالاهُ،

wa wal-i man wal-ahu

And be the supporter of anyone who supports him,

وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ،

wa `adi man `adahu

And be the enemy of anyone who invokes his enmity,

وَضَاعِفِ العَذَابَ عَلَى مَنْ ظَلَمَهُ.

wa ¤a`ifi al`adhaba `ala man ¨alamahu

And inflict double chastisement upon anyone who wronged him.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمّدٍ إمَامِ المُسْلِمِينَ،

allahumma salli `ala ja`fari bni muhammadin imami almuslimena

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Ja`far ibn Muhammad, the leader of the Muslims,

وَوَالِ مَنْ وَالاهُ،

wa wal-i man wal-ahu

And be the supporter of anyone who supports him,

وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ،

wa `adi man `adahu

And be the enemy of anyone who invokes his enmity,

وَضَاعِفِ العَذَابَ عَلَى مَنْ ظَلَمَهُ.

wa ¤a`ifi al`adhaba `ala man ¨alamahu

And inflict double chastisement upon anyone who wronged him.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى مُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ إمَامِ المُسْلِمِينَ،

allahumma salli `ala musa bni ja`farin imami almuslimena

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Musa ibn Ja`far, the leader of the Muslims,

وَوَالِ مَنْ وَالاهُ،

wa wal-i man wal-ahu

And be the supporter of anyone who supports him,

وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ،

wa `adi man `adahu

And be the enemy of anyone who invokes his enmity,

وَضَاعِفِ العَذَابَ عَلَى مَنْ شَرِكَ فِي دَمِهِ.

wa ¤a`ifi al`adhaba `ala man sharika fe damihi

And inflict double chastisement upon anyone who had hand in the shedding of his blood.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى عَلِيّ بْنِ مُوسَى إمَامِ المُسْلِمِينَ،

allahumma salli `ala `aliyyin bni musa imami almuslimena

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon `Ale ibn Musa, the leader of the Muslims,

وَوَالِ مَنْ وَالاهُ،

wa wal-i man wal-ahu

And be the supporter of anyone who supports him,

وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ،

wa `adi man `adahu

And be the enemy of anyone who invokes his enmity,

وَضَاعِفِ العَذَابَ عَلَى مَنْ شَرِكَ فِي دَمِهِ.

wa ¤a`ifi al`adhaba `ala man sharika fe damihi

And inflict double chastisement upon anyone who had a hand in the shedding of his blood.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدِ بْنِ عَلِيّ إمَامِ المُسْلِمِينَ،

allahumma salli `ala muhammadi bni `aliyyin imami almuslimena

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Muhammad ibn `Ale, the leader of the Muslims,

وَوَالِ مَنْ وَالاهُ،

wa wal-i man wal-ahu

And be the supporter of anyone who supports him,

وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ،

wa `adi man `adahu

And be the enemy of anyone who invokes his enmity,

وَضَاعِفِ العَذَابَ عَلَى مَنْ ظَلَمَهُ.

wa ¤a`ifi al`adhaba `ala man ¨alamahu

And inflict double chastisement upon anyone who wronged him.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى عَلِيّ بْنِ مُحَمّدٍ إمَامِ المُسْلِمِينَ،

allahumma salli `ala `aliyy bni muhammadin imami almuslimena

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon `Ale ibn Muhammad, the leader of the Muslims,

وَوَالِ مَنْ وَالاهُ،

wa wal-i man wal-ahu

And be the supporter of anyone who supports him,

وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ،

wa `adi man `adahu

And be the enemy of anyone who invokes his enmity,

وَضَاعِفِ العَذَابَ عَلَى مَنْ ظَلَمَهُ.

wa ¤a`ifi al`adhaba `ala man ¨alamahu

And inflict double chastisement upon anyone who wronged him.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى الحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيّ إمَامِ المُسْلِمِينَ،

allahumma salli `ala alhasani bni `aliyy imami almuslimena

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon al-°asan ibn `Ale, the leader of the Muslims,

وَوَالِ مَنْ وَالاهُ،

wa wal-i man wal-ahu

And be the supporter of anyone who supports him,

وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ،

wa `adi man `adahu

And be the enemy of anyone who invokes his enmity,

وَضَاعِفِ العَذَابَ عَلَى مَنْ ظَلَمَهُ.

wa ¤a`ifi al`adhaba `ala man ¨alamahu

And inflict double chastisement upon anyone who wronged him.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى الخَلَفِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ إمَامِ المُسْلِمِينَ،

allahumma salli `ala alkhalafi min ba`dihi imami almuslimena

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon the Successor after him, the leader of the Muslims,

وَوَالِ مَنْ وَالاهُ،

wa wal-i man wal-ahu

And be the supporter of anyone who supports him,

وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ،

wa `adi man `adahu

And be the enemy of anyone who invokes his enmity,

وَعَجّلْ فَرَجَهُ.

wa `ajjil farajahu

And expedite his Relief.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى القَاسِمِ وَالطَّاهِرِ ابْنَيْ نَبِيّكَ.

allahumma salli `ala alqasimi wal-§§ahiri abnay nabiyyika

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon al-Qasim and al-±ahir, the two sons of Your Prophet.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى رُقَيّةَ بِنْتِ نَبِيّكَ،

allahumma salli `ala ruqayyata binti nabiyyika

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Ruqayyah, the daughter of Your Prophet.

وَالعَنْ مَنْ آذَى نَبِيّكَ فِيهَا.

wal-`an man adha nabiyyaka feha

And curse those who injured Your Prophet through wronging her.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى أُمّ كُلْثُومَ بِنْتِ نَبِيّكَ،

allahumma salli `ala ‘umm kulthuma binti nabiyyika

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Ummi-Kulthum, the daughter of Your Prophet.

وَالعَنْ مَنْ آذَى نَبِيّكَ فِيهَا.

wal-`an man adha nabiyyaka feha

And curse those who injured Your Prophet through wronging her.

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى ذُرّيّةِ نَبِيّكَ.

allahumma salli `ala dhurriyyati nabiyyika

O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon the offspring of Your Prophet.

اللّهُمّ اخْلُفْ نَبِيّكَ فِي أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ.

allahumma akhluf nabiyyaka fe ahli baytihi

O Allah: (please) be the representative of Your Prophet among his Household.

اللّهُمّ مَكّنْ لَهُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ.

allahumma makkin lahum fe alar¤i

O Allah: (please do) grant them power in the land.

اللّهُمّ اجْعَلْنَا مِنْ عَدَدِهِمْ وَمَدَدِهِمْ وَأَنْصَارِهِمْ عَلَى الحَقّ فِي السّرّ وَالعَلانِيَةِ.

allahumma aj`alna min `adadihim wa madadihim wa ansarihim `ala alhaqqi fe alssirri wal-`alaniyati

O Allah: (please do) include us with their troop, their aides, and their supporters on confirming the truth secretly and openly.

اللّهُمّ اطْلُبْ بِذَحْلِهِمْ وَوِتْرِهِمْ وَدِمَائِهِمْ،

allahumma a§lub bidhahlihim wa witrihim wa dima’ihim

O Allah: (please do) retaliate upon those who wronged and slew them, and those who shed their blood.

وَكُفّ عَنَّا وَعَنْهُمْ وَعَنْ كُلّ مُؤْمِنٍ وَمُؤْمِنَةٍ

wa kuffa `anna wa `anhum wa `an kulli mu´minin wa mu´minatin

And (please) save us, them, and every believing man and women

بَأْسَ كُلّ بَاغٍ وَطَاغٍ

ba’sa kulli baghin wa §aghin

The evil of all tyrants and transgressors,

وَكُلّ دَابّةٍ أَنْتَ آخِذٌ بِنَاصِيَتِهَا

wa kulli dabbatin anta akhidhun binasiyatiha

And every living creature that You hold it by its forelock.

إنّكَ أَشَدّ بَأْساً وَأَشَدّ تَنْكِيلاً.

innaka ashaddu ba’san wa ashadd tankelan

Verily, You are the strongest in prowess and the strongest to give an exemplary punishment.

Sayyid Ibn Tawus adds: You may also say the following:

يَا عُدّتِي فِي كُرْبَتِي،

ya `uddaty fe kurbate

O my means in troubles:

وَيَا صَاحِبِي فِي شِدّتِي،

wa ya sahiby fe shiddate

O my Companion in hardships:

وَيَا وَلِيّي فِي نِعْمَتِي،

wa ya waliyyiy fe ni`mate

O the Provider of my amenities;

وَيَا غَايَتِي فِي رَغْبَتِي،

wa ya ghaiyaty fe raghbate

O the utmost of my desires.

أَنْتَ السَّاتِرُ عَوْرَتِي،

anta alssatiru `awrate

It is You Who conceals my defects,

وَالْمُؤْمِنُ رَوْعَتِي،

wal-mu´minu raw`ate

Who relieves my apprehensions,

وَالْمُقِيلُ عَثْرَتِي،

wal-muqelu `athrate

and Who overlooks my slips;

فَاغْفِرْ لِي خَطِيئَتِي.

faghfir le kha§e’ate

so, (please do) forgive my sin.

يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.

ya arhama alrrahimena

O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

You may also say the following:

اللّهُمّ إنّي أَدْعُوكَ لِهَمّ لا يُفَرّجُهُ غَيْرُكَ،

allahumma inne ad`uka lihammin la yufarrijuhu ghayruka

O Allah: I beseech You about a grief that none can relieve save You,

وَلِرَحْمَةٍ لا تُنَالُ إلاَّ بِكَ،

wa lirahmatin la tunalu illa bika

And for mercy that cannot be attained except through You,

وَلِكَرْبٍ لا يَكْشِفُهُ إلاَّ أَنْتَ،

wa likarbin la yakshifuhu illa anta

And about hardship from which none can rescue except You

وَلِرَغْبَةٍ لا تُبْلَغُ إلاَّ بِكَ،

wa liraghbatin la tublaghu illa bika

And for desire that cannot be obtained except by You

وَلِحَاجَةٍ لا يَقْضِيهَا إلاَّ أَنْتَ.

wa lihajatin la yaq¤eha illa anta

And for a need that none can settle save You.

اللّهُمّ فَكَمَا كَانَ مِنْ شَأْنِكَ مَا أَذِنْتَ لِي بِهِ مِنْ مَسْأَلَتِكَ،

allahumma fakama kana min sha’nika ma adhinta le bihi min mas’alatika

O Allah: As You have decided to allow me to pray You,

وَرَحِمْتَنِي بِهِ مِنْ ذِكْرِكَ

wa rahimtany bihi min dhikrika

And as You have had mercy upon me through allowing me to refer to You,

فَلْيَكُنْ مِنْ شَأْنِكَ سَيّدِي الإجَابَةُ لِي فِيمَا دَعَوْتُكَ،

falyakun min shanika sayyidy alijabatu le fema da`awtuka

So, please my Master, decide that my prayers are responded by You,

وَعَوَائِدُ الإفْضَالِ فِيمَا رَجَوْتُكَ،

wa `awa’idu alif¤ali fema rajawtuka

And confer upon me the favors for which I have hoped You,

وَالنّجَاةُ مِمَّا فَزِعْتُ إلَيْكَ فِيهِ،

wal-nnajatu mimma fazi`tu ilayka fehi

And grant me redemption from that against which I have resorted to You.

فَإنْ لَمْ أَكُنْ أَهْلاً أَنْ أَبْلُغَ رَحْمَتَكَ

fa’in lam akun ahlan an ablugha rahmataka

But if I do not deserve to attain Your mercy,

فَإنّ رَحْمَتَكَ أَهْلٌ أَنْ تَبْلُغَنِي وَتَسَعَنِي،

fa’inna rahmataka ahlun an tablughany wa tasa`ane

Then, Your mercy is too wide to avoid including and covering me.

وَإنْ لَمْ أَكُنْ لِلإجَابَةِ أَهْلاً

wa in lam akun lilijabati ahlan

And if I do not deserve Your response,

فَأَنْتَ أَهْلُ الفَضْلِ،

fa’anta ahlu alfa¤li

Then, You are the worthiest of granting favors,

وَرَحْمَتُكَ وَسِعَتْ كُلّ شَيْءٍ،

wa rahmatuka wa si`at kull shay‘in

And Your mercy has covered all things,

فَلْتَسَعْنِي رَحْمَتُكَ يَا إلهِي

faltasa`ny rahmatuka ya ilahy

So, let Your mercy include me, O my God.

يَا كَرِيمُ أَسْأَلُكَ بِوَجْهِكَ الكَرِيمِ

ya karemu as’aluka biwajhika alkaremi

O the All-generous: I beseech You in the name of Your Noble Face,

أَنْ تُصَلّيَ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ،

an tusalliya `ala muhammadin wa ahli baytihi

That You bless Muhammad and his Household,

وَأَنْ تُفَرّجَ هَمّي،

wa an tufarrija hamme

And that You relieve my grief,

وَتَكْشِفَ كَرْبِي وَغَمّي،

wa takshifa karby wa ghamme

And release me from my hardship and agony,

وَتَرْحَمَنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ،

wa tarhamany birahmatika

And have mercy upon me out of Your mercy,

وَتَرْزُقَنِي مِنْ فَضْلِكَ،

wa tarzuqany min fa¤lika

And confer on me with Your favor.

إنّكَ سَمِيعُ الدّعَاءِ قَرِيبٌ مُجِيبٌ.

innaka same`u alddu`a‘i qarebun mujebun

You are verily the Hearer of prayers, the Nigh, and the Responding.
