Sahifa Sajjadia 27 His Supplication for People of the Frontiers
دُعَاؤُهُ لِأَهْلِ الثُّغُورِ
Imam Zainul Abideen(as) son of Imam Hussain ibn Ali (as)'s supplication 27 His Supplication for People of the Frontiers

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ،
al-laahum-ma s'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih
1.O God, bless Muhammad and his Household,

وَحَصِّنْ ثُغُورَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ بِعِزَّتِكَ،
wa h'as'-s'in thughooral-mus-limeena bii'z-zatik
2.fortify the frontiers of the Muslims through Your might,

وَأَيِّدْ حُمَاتَهَا بِقُوَّتِكَ،
wa ay-yid h'umaatahaa biqoo-watik
3.support their defenders through Your strength,

وَأَسْبغَ عَطَايَاهُمْ مِنْ جِدَتِكَ.
wa as-bigh a't'aayaahum min jidatik
4.and lavish upon them gifts through Your wealth!

أللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ،
al-laahum-ma s'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih
5.O God, bless Muhammad and his Household,

وَكَثِّرْ عِدَّتَهُمْ، وَاشْحَذْ أَسْلِحَتَهُمْ،
wa kath-thir i'd-datahum- wash-h'ad' as-lih'atahum
6.increase their number, hone their weapons,

وَاحْرُسْ حَوْزَتَهُمْ، وَامْنَعْ حَوْمَتَهُمْ،
wah'-rus h'aw-zatahum wam-naa' h'aw-matahum
7.guard their territory, defend their midst,

وَأَلِّفْ جَمْعَهُمْ، وَدَبِّرْ أَمْرَهُمْ،
wa al-lif jam-a'hum- wa db-bir am-rahum
8.unite their throng, arrange their affair,

وَوَاتِرْ بَيْنَ مِيَرِهِمْ، وَتَوَحَّدْ بِكِفَايَةِ مَؤَنِهِمْ،
wa waatir bay-na meearihim- wa tawah'-h'ad bikifaayati moo-anihim
9.send them supplies in a steady string, undertake Yourself to suffice them with provisions,

وَاعْضُدْهُمْ بِالنَّصْرِ، وَأَعْنِهُمْ بِالصَّبْرِ،
waa'-z''ud-hum bin-nas'-r wa ai'n-hum bis'-s'ab-r
10.support them with victory, help them with patience,

وَالْطُفْ لَهُمْ فِي الْمَكْرِ.
wal-t'uf lahum fil-mak-r
11.and give them subtlety in guile!

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ،
al-laahum-ma s'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih
12.O God, bless Muhammad and his Household,

وَعَرِّفْهُمْ مَا يَجْهَلُونَ،
wa a'r-rif-hum maa yaj-haloon
13.give them the knowledge of that of which they are ignorant,

وَعَلِّمْهُمْ مَا لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ،
wa a'l-lim-hum maa laa yaa'-lamoon
14.teach them what they do not know,

وَبَصِّرْهُمْ مَا لاَ يُبْصِرُونَ
wa bas'-s'ir-hum maa laa yub-s'iroon
15.and show them what they do not see!

أللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ،
al-laahum-ma s'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih
16.O God, bless Muhammad and his Household,

وَأَنْسِهِمْ عِنْدَ لِقَآئِهِمُ الْعَدُوَّ
wa ansihim i'nda liqaaa-ihimul-a'doo-wa
17.make them forget when they meet the enemy

ذِكْرَ دُنْيَاهُمُ الْخَدَّاعَةِ الْغَرُورِ،
d'ik-ra dunyaahumul-khad-daaa'til-gharoor
18.to remember this cheating and delusive world of theirs,

وَامْحُ عَنْ قُلُوبِهِمْ خَطَرَاتِ الْمَالِ الْفَتُونِ،
wam-hoo a'n quloobihim khat'araatil-maalil-fatoon
19.erase from their hearts the thought of enchanting possessions,

وَاجْعَلِ الْجَنَّةَ نَصْبَ أَعْيُنِهِمْ وَلَوِّحْ مِنْهَا لأِبْصَارِهِمْ
waj-a'lil-jan-nata nas'-ba aa'-yunihim- wa law-wih' min-haa liab-s'aarihim
20.place the Garden before their eyes, and display to their sight that part of it

مَا أَعْدَدْتَ فِيهَا مِنْ مَسَاكِنِ الْخُلْدِ وَمَنَازِلِ الْكَرَامَةِ
maaa aa'-dat-ta feehaa min- masaakinil-khul-d wa manaazilil-karaamah
21.which You hast prepared for them - the homes of everlastingness and mansions of honour,

وَالْحُورِ الْحِسَانِ وَالأَنْهَارِ الْمُطَّرِدَةِ بِأَنْوَاعِ الأَشْرِبَـةِ ،
wal-h'ooril-h'isaan wal-an-haaril-mut'-t'aridati binwaai'l-ash-ribah
22.the beautiful houris, the rivers gushing forth with all sorts of drinks,

وَالأَشْجَارِ الْمُتَدَلِّيَةِ بِصُنُوفِ الثَّمَرِ،
wal-ash-jaaril-mutadal-leeati bis'unoofith-thamar
23.the trees hanging, low with all kinds of fruits -

حَتَّى لاَ يَهُمَّ أَحَدٌ مِنْهُمْ بِالأدْبَارِ،
h'at-taa laa yahum-ma ah'adum-min-hum bil-id-baar
24.lest any of them think of turning his back

وَلا يُحَدِّثَ نَفْسَهُ عَنْ قِرْنِهِ بِفِرَار.
wa laa yuh'ad-ditha naf-sahoo a'n qir-nihee bifraar
25.or suggest to himself to flee his opponent!

أللَّهُمَّ افْلُلْ بِذَلِـكَ عَدُوَّهُمْ،
al-laahum-ma af-lul bid'alika a'doo-wahum
26.O God, defeat their enemy through that,

وَاقْلِمْ عَنْهُمْ أَظْفَارَهُمْ، وَفَرِّقْ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ أَسْلِحَتِهِمْ ،
wa aq-lim a'n-hum az'-faarahum- wa far-riq bay-nahum wabay-na as-lih'atihim
27.trim their nails from them, separate them from their weapons,

وَاخْلَعْ وَثَائِقَ أَفْئِدَتِهِمْ، وَبَاعِدْ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ أَزْوِدَتِهِمْ،
wakh-laa' wathaaa-iqa af-idatihim- wa baai'd bay-nahum wabay-na az-widatihim
28.pull out the firm ties from their hearts, keep them far away from their stores,

وَحَيِّرْهُمْ فِي سُبُلِهِمْ، وَضَلِّلْهُمْ عَنْ وَجْهِهِمْ،
wa h'ay-yir-hum fee subulihim- wa z''al-lil-hum a'w-waj-hihim
29.bewilder them in their roads, turn them astray from their direction,

وَاقْـطَعْ عَنْهُمُ الْمَدَدَ وَانْقُصْ مِنْهُمُ الْعَدَدَ،
waq-t'aa' a'n-humul-madad wanqus' min-humul-a'dad
30.cut off reinforcements from them, chop them down in numbers,

وَامْلاْ أَفْئِدَتَهُمُ الرُّعْبَ، وَاقْبِضْ أَيْـدِيَهُمْ عَنِ البَسْطِ،
wam-laa af-idatahumur-rua'-b waq-biz'' ay-deeahum a'nil-bas-t'
31.fill their hearts with terror, hold back their hands from stretching forth,

وَاخْـزِمْ أَلْسِنَتَهُمْ عَنِ النُّطْقِ،
wakh-zim al-sinatahum a'nin-nut'-q
32.tie back their tongues from speaking,

وَشَرِّدْ بهِمْ مَنْ خَلْفَهُمْ، وَنَكِّلْ بِهِمْ مَنْ وَرَاءَهُمْ،
wa shar-rid bihim man khal-fahum- wa nak-kil bihim maw-waraaa-ahum
33."scatter by them the ones behind them" (8:57), make them a lesson for those beyond them,

وَاقْـطَعْ بِخِزْيِهِمْ أَطْمَـاعَ مَنْ بَعْدَهُمْ.
waq-t'aa' bikhiz-yihim at'-maaa' mam-baa'-dahum
34.and through their degradation cut off the hopes of those who come after them!

أللَّهُمَّ عَقِّمْ أَرْحَامَ نِسَائِهِمْ،
al-laahum-ma a'q-qim ar-h'aama nisaaa-ihim
35.O God, make the wombs of their women barren

وَيَبِّسْ أَصْلاَبَ رِجَالِهِمْ،
wa yab-bis as'-laaba rijaalihim
36.dry up the loins of their men,

وَاقْطَعْ نَسْلَ دَوَابِّهِمْ وَأَنْعَامِهِمْ،
waq-t'aa' nas-la dawaaab-bihim wan-a'amihim
37.cut off the breeding of their mounts and their cattle,

لاَ تَأذَنْ لِسَمَائِهِمْ فِي قَطْر وَلاَ لارْضِهِمْ فِي نَبَات.
laa taa-d'al-lisamaaa-ihim fee qat'-r wa laa liar-z''ihim fee nabaat
38.and permit not their sky to rain or their earth to grow!

أللَّهُمَّ وَقَوِّ بِذَلِكَ مِحَالَّ أَهْلِ الإسْلاَمِ ،
al-laahum-ma wa qaw-wi bid'alika mih'aala ah-lil-is-laam
39.O God, through that strengthen the prowess of the People of Islam,

وَحَصِّنْ بِهِ دِيَارَهُمْ ، وَثَمِّرْ بِـهِ أَمْوَالَهُمْ ،
wa h'as'-s'im-bihee deeaarahum- wa tham-mir biheee am-waalahum
40.fortify their cities, increase their properties,

وَفَرِّغْهُمْ عَنْ مُحَارَبَتِهِمْ لِعِبَادَتِكَ وَعَنْ مُنَابَذَتِهِمْ للْخَلْوَةِ بِكَ،
wa far-righ-hum a'm-muh'aarabatihim lii'baadatika wa a'm-munaabad'atihim lil-khal-wati bika
41.give them ease from their fighting to worship You and from their warfare to be alone with You,

حَتَّى لا يُعْبَدَ فِي بِقَاعِ الارْضِ غَيْرُكَ
h'at-taa laa yua'-bada fee biqaai'l-ar-z''i ghay-ruk
42.so that none will be worshipped in the regions of the earth but You

وَلاَ تُعَفَّرَ لاَِحَد مِنْهُمْ جَبْهَةٌ دُونَكَ.
wa laa tua'f-fara liah'adim-min-hum jab-hatun doonak
43.and no forehead of theirs may be rubbed in dust for less than You!

أللَّهُمَّ اغزُ بِكُلِّ نَـاحِيَـة مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
al-laahum-ma gh-zu bikul-li naah'eeatim-minal-mus-limeena
44.O God, send out the Muslims of every region on raids

عَلَى مَنْ بِـإزَائِهِمْ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ،
a'laa mam-biizaaa-ihim minal-mush-rikeen
45.against the idolaters who face them!

وَأَمْدِدْهُمْ بِمَلائِكَة مِنْ عِنْدِكَ مُرْدِفِينَ
wa am-did-hum bimalaaa-ikatim-min i'ndika mur-difeen
46.Reinforce them with angels in ranks from You,

حَتَّى يَكْشِفُـوهُمْ إلَى مُنْقَطَعِ التُّـرابِ قَتْـلاً فِي أَرْضِكَ
h'at-taa yak-shifoohum ilaa munqat'ai't-turaabi qat-lan feee ar-z''ika
47.till the idolaters are routed by them to the end of the land, slain in Your earth

وَأَسْراً أَوْ يُقِرُّوا بِأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللهُ الَّذِي لاَ إلهَ إلاَّ أَنْتَ
wa as-raa aw yuqir-roo bin-naka antal-laahool-lad'ee laaa ilaha il-laaa ant
48.or taken captive, or till they admit that You art God, other than whom there is no god,

وَحْدَكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ.
wah'-daka laa shareeka lak
49.You alone, who hast no associate!

أللَّهُمَّ وَاعْمُمْ بِذَلِكَ أَعْدَاءَكَ فِي أَقْطَارِ الْبِلاَدِ
al-laahum-ma waa'-mum bid'alika aa'-daaa-aka feee aq-t'aaril-bilaadi
50.O God, include in this Your enemies in the regions of the lands,

مِنَ الْهِنْدِ وَالرُّومِ وَالتُّـرْكِ وَالْخَزَرِ وَالْحَبَشِ
minal-hindi war-roomi wat-tur-ki wal-khazari wal-h'abashi
51.the Indians, the Byzantines, the Turks, the Khazars, the Abyssinians,

وَالنُّـوبَةِ وَالـزَّنْج والسَّقَالِبَةِ وَالدَّيَالِمَةِ
wan-noobati waz-zanji was-saqaalibati wad-deeaalimati
52.the Nubians, the Zanjis, the Slavs, the Daylamites,

وَسَائِرِ أُمَمِ الشِّرْكِ الَّذِي تَخْفَى أَسْمَاؤُهُمْ وَصِفاتُهُمْ،
wa saaa-iri umamish-shir-kil-lad'eena takh-faaa as-maaa-uhum wa s'ifaatuhum
53.and the rest of the idol-worshipping nations, those whose names and attributes are concealed,

وَقَدْ أَحْصَيْتَهُمْ بِمَعْرِفَتِكَ، وَأَشْرَفْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِقُدْرَتِكَ.
wa qad ah'-s'ay-tahum bimaa'-rifatik wa ash-raf-ta a'lay-him biqud-ratik
54.but whom You countest in Your cognizance and overseest through Your power!

أللَّهُمَّ اشْغَلِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ بِالمُشْرِكِينَ عَنْ تَنَاوُلِ أَطْرَافِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ،
al-laahum-ma ash-ghalil-mush-rikeena bil-mush-rikeena a'n tanaawli at'-raafil-muslimeen
55.O God, distract the idolaters from reaching for the borders of the Muslims through the idolaters,

وَخُذْهُمْ بِـالنَّقْصِ عَنْ تَنَقُّصِهِمْ،
wa khud'-hum bin-naq-s'i a'n tanaq-qus'ihim
56.bar them from cutting them down through being cut down,

وَثَبِّطْهُمْ بِـالْفُـرْقَـةِ عَنِ الاحْتِشَادِ عَلَيْهِمْ.
wa thab-bit'-hum bil-fur-qati a'nilih'-tishaadi a'lay-him
57.and hold them back from massing together against them through dissension!

أللَّهُمَّ أَخْلِ قُلُوبَهُمْ مِنَ الأَمَنَـةِ
al-laahum-ma akh-li quloobahum minal-amanati
58.O God, empty their hearts of security

وَأَبْدَانَهُمْ مِنَ الْقُوَّةِ وَأَذْهِلْ قُلُوبَهُمْ عَنِ الاحْتِيَالِ
wa ab-daanahum mina alqoo-wah wa ad'-hil quloobahum a'nilih'-teeaal
59.and their bodies of strength, distract their hearts from thinking of stratagems,

وَأَوْهِنْ أَرْكَانَهُمْ عَنْ مُنَازَلَةِ الرِّجَالِ
wa aw-hin ar-kaanahum a'm-munaazalatir-rijaal
60.make their limbs too feeble for clashing with men,

وَجَبِّنْهُمْ عَنْ مُقَارَعَةِ الأَبْطَالِ،
wa jab-bin-hum a'm-muqaaraa'til-ab-t'aal
61.make them too cowardly for contending with champions,

وَابْعَثْ عَلَيْهِمْ جُنْداً مِنْ مَلاَئِكَتِكَ
wab-a'th a'lay-him jundam-mim-malaaa-ikatika
62.send against them a troop of Your angels

بِبَأس مِنْ بَأْسِكَ كَفِعْلِكَ يَوْمَ بَدْر
bibaa-sim-mim-baa-sika kafia'-lika yaw-ma bad-r
63.with some of Your severity as You didst on the Day of Badr,

تَقْطَعُ بِهِ دَابِرَهُمْ وَتَحْصُدُ بِهِ شَوْكَتَهُمْ،
taq-t'au' bihee daabirahum- wa tah'-s'udu bihee shaw-katahum
64.so that through it You mayest cut off their roots, harvest their thorns,

وَتُفَرِّقُ بهِ عَدَدَهُمْ.
wa tufar-riqu bihee a'dadahum
65.and disperse their number!

اللَّهُمَّ وَامْزُجْ مِيَاهَهُمْ بِالْوَبَاءِ وَأطْعِمَتَهُمْ بِالأَدْوَاءِ
al-laahum-ma wam-zuj meeaahahum bil-wabaaa-i wa at'-i'matahum bil-ad-waaa-i
66.O God, mix their waters with pestilence and their foods with maladies,

وَارْمِ بِلاَدَهُمْ بِالْخُسُوفِ وَأَلِـحَّ عَلَيْهَا بِـالْقُذُوفِ وَافْـرَعْهَا بِالْمُحُولِ.
war-mi bilaadahum bil-khusoof wa alih'-h'a a'lay-haa bil-qud'oof waf-raa'-haa bil-muh'ool
67.hurl down their cities, harass them with peltings, hinder them through drought,

وَاجْعَلْ مِيَرَهُمْ فِي أَحَصِّ أَرْضِكَ وَأَبْعَـدِهَا عَنْهُمْ،
waj-a'l meearahum feee ah'as'-s'i ar-z''ika wa ab-a'dihaa a'n-hum
68.place their supplies in the most ill-omened part of Your earth and the farthest from them,

وَامْنَـعْ حُصُونَهَا مِنْهُمْ، أَصِبْهُمْ بِالْجُوعِ الْمُقِيمِ وَالسُّقْمِ الالِيمِ.
wam-naa' h'us'oonahaa min-hum- as'ib-hum bil-jooi'l-muqeemi was-suq-mil-aleem
69.bar them from its fortresses, and strike them with constant hunger and painful illness!

أللَّهُمَّ وَأَيُّمَا غَاز غَزَاهُمْ مِنْ أَهْلِ مِلَّتِكَ
al-laahum-ma wa ay-yumaa ghaazin ghazaahum min ah-li mil-latik
70.O God, if a warrior from the people of Your creed wars against them

أَوْ مُجَاهِد جَاهَدَهُمْ مِنْ أَتْبَاعِ سُنَّتِكَ لِيَكُونَ دِينُكَ الاعْلَى
aw mujaahidin jaahadahum min atabaai' sun-natik leeakoona deenukal-aa'-laa
71.or a struggler from the followers of Your prescriptions struggles against them so that Your religion may be the highest,

وَحِزْبُكَ الأقوَى وَحَظُّكَ الأوْفَى فَلَقِّهِ الْيُسْرَ،
wa h'iz-bukal-aq-waa wa h'az'-z'ukal-aw-faa falaq-qihil-yus-r
72.Your party the strongest, and Your share the fullest, cast ease to him,

وَهَيِّئْ لَهُ الأمْرَ، وَتَوَلَّهُ بِالنُّجْحِ،
wa hay-yi lahul-am-r wa tawal-lahoo bin-nuj-h'
73.arrange his affair, attend to him by granting success,

وَتَخَيَّرْ لَهُ الأصْحَابَ، وَاسْتَقْوِ لَهُ الظَّهْرَ،
wa takhay-yar lahul-as'-h'aab was-taq-wi lahuz'-z'ah-r
74.select for him his companions, strengthen his back,

وَأَسْبِغْ عَلَيْهِ فِي النَّفَقَةِ وَمَتِّعْهُ بِالنَّشَاطِ،
wa as-bigh a'lay-hee fin-nafaqah wa mat-tia'-hoo bin-nashaat'
75.lavish upon him livelihood, give him enjoyment of joyous vitality,

وَأَطْفِ عَنْهُ حَرَارَةَ الشَّوْقِ، وَأَجِرْهُ مِنْ غَمِّ الْوَحْشَةِ،
wat'-fi a'n-hoo h'araaratash-shaw-q wa ajir-hoo min gham-mil-wah'-shah
76.cool for him the heat of yearning, give him sanctuary from the gloom of loneliness,

وَأَنْسِهِ ذِكْرَ الاهْلِ وَالْوَلَدِ وَأَثُرْ لَهُ حُسْنَ النِّيَّةِ وَتَوَلَّه بِالْعَافِيَةِ،
wa ansihee d'ik-ral-ah-li wal-walad wa aaathur lahoo h'us-nan-nee-yah wa tawal-lahoo bil-a'afeeah
77.make him forget the remembrance of wife and child, pass along to him an excellent intention, attend to him with well-being,

وَأَصْحِبْهُ السَّلاَمَةَ، وَأَعْفِهِ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ،
wa as'-h'ib-hus-salaamah wa aa'-fihee minal-jub-n
78.make safety his companion, release him from cowardice,

وَأَلْهِمْهُ الْجُرْأَةَ وَارْزُقْهُ الشِّدَّةَ وَأَيِّدْهُ بِالنُّصْرَةِ،
wa al-him-hul-jur-ah war-zuq-hush-shid-dah wa ay-yid-hoo bin-nus'-rah
79.inspire him with boldness, provide him with strength, support him with help,

وَعَلِّمْهُ السِّيَرَ وَالسُّنَنَ، وَسَدِّدْهُ فِي الْحُكْمِ،
wa a'l-lim-hus-seeara was-sunan wa sad-did-hoo fil-h'uk-m
80.teach him right conduct and the norms of the Sunna, point him straight in judgement,

وَاعْزِلْ عَنْهُ الرِّياءَ، وخَلِّصْهُ مِنَ السُّمْعَةِ
waa'-zil a'n-hur-reeaaa- wa khal-lis'-hoo minas-sum-a'h
81.remove from him hypocrisy, purify him from seeking fame,

وَاجْعَلْ فِكْرَهُ وَذِكْرَهُ وَظَعْنَهُ وَإقَامَتَهُ فِيْكَ وَلَكَ،
waj-a'l fik-rahoo wad'ik-rahoo waz'aa'-nahoo waaqaamatahoo feeka wa lak
82.and make his thinking and remembrance, his departing and his staying, be in You and for You!

فَإذا صَافَّ عَدُوَّكَ وَعَدُوَّهُ فَقَلِّلْهُمْ فِي عَيْنِهِ
faad'aa s'aaaf-fa a'doo-waka waa'doo-wahoo faqal-lil-hum fee a'y-nih
83.When he stands in ranks before Your enemy and his enemy, make them few in his eye,

وَصَغِّرْ شَأنَهُمْ فِي قَلْبِهِ
was'agh-ghir shaa-nahum fee qal-bih
84.diminish their importance in his heart,

وَأَدِلْ لَهُ مِنْهُـمْ وَلاَ تُدِلْهُمْ مِنْهُ
wa adil-lahoo min-hum- wa laa tudil-hum min-h
85.give him a turn to prevail over them, not them a turn to prevail over him!

فَإنْ خَتَمْتَ لَهُ بِالسَّعَادَةِ وَقَضَيْتَ لَهُ بِالشَّهَادَةِ
faan khatam-ta lahoo bis-saa'adati wa qaz''ay-ta lahoo bish-shahaadah
86.But if You sealest him with felicity and decreest for him martyrdom,

فَبَعْدَ أَنْ يَجْتَاحَ عَدُوَّكَ بِالْقَتْلِ
fabaa'-da ay-yaj-taah'a a'doo-waka bil-qat-l
87.then let it be after he has exterminated Your enemies by slaying,

وَبَعْدَ أنْ يَجْهَدَ بِهِمُ الأسْرُ
wa baa'-da ay-yaj-hada bihimul-as-r
88.captivity has afflicted them,

وَبَعْدَ أن تَأمَنَ أطرَافُ المُسْلِمِينَ
wa baa'-da an taa-mana st'-raaful-mus-limeen
89.the borders of the Muslims are secure,

وَبَعْدَ أَنْ يُوَلِّيَ عَدُوُّكَ مُدْبِرِينَ.
wa baa'-da sy-yuwal-leea a'doo-wuka mud-bireen
90.and Your enemy has turned his back in flight!

أللَّهُمَّ وَأَيُّمَا مُسْلِم
al-laahum-ma wa ay-yumaa mus-lim
91.O God, and if a Muslim should

خَلَفَ غَازِياً أَوْ مُرَابِطاً فِي دَارِهِ
khalafa ghaazeean aw muraabit'an fee daarih
92.take the place of a warrior or a soldier in his home,

أَوْ تَعَهَّدَ خَالِفِيْهِ فِيْ غَيْبَتِهِ،
aw taa'h-hada khaalifeehee fee ghay-batih
93.attend to those left behind in his absence,

أَوْ أَعَانَهُ بِطَائِفَة مِنْ مَالِهِ،
aw aa'anahoo bit'aaa-ifatim-mim-maalih
94.help him with a portion of his property,

أَوْ أَمَدَّهُ بِعِتَاد، أَوْ شَحَذَهُ عَلَى جِهَاد،
aw amad-dahoo bia'taad aw shah'ad'ahoo a'laa jihaad
95.assist him with equipment, hone him for the struggle,

أَوْ أَتْبَعَهُ فِي وَجْهِهِ دَعْوَةً،
aw at-baa'hoo fee waj-hihee daa'-wah
96.send along with him a supplication for his purpose,

أَوْ رَعَى لَهُ مِنْ وَرَآئِهِ حُرْمَةً.
aw raa'a lahoo miw-waraaa-ihee h'ur-mah
97.or guard his honour in his absence,

فَأْجِرْ لَهُ مِثْلَ أَجْرِهِ
faa-jir lahoo mith-la aj-rihee
98.reward him with the like of his reward

وَزْناً بِوَزْن وَمِثْلاً بِمِثْل وَعَوِّضْهُ مِنْ فِعْلِهِ
waz-nam-biwaz-niw-wa mith-lam-bimith-l wa a'w-wiz''-hoo min fi'-lihee
99.measure for measure, like for like, and recompense him for his act

عِوَضاً حَاضِراً يَتَعَجَّلُ بِهِ نَفْعَ مَا قَدَّمَ،
i'waz''ana h'aaz''iray-yataa'j-jalu bihee naf-a' maa qad-dama
100.with an immediate compensation through which he will hasten to the profit of what he has sent forth

وَسُرُورَ مَا أَتَى به، إلَى أَنْ يَنْتَهِيَ بِهِ الْوَقْتُ
wa suroora maaa ataa biheee ilaaa ay-yantaheea bihil-waq-tu
101.and the joy of what he has given, till the present moment takes him

إلَى مَاأَجْرَيْتَ لَـهُ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ،
ilaa maa aj-ray-ta lahoo min faz''-lik
102.to the bounty You hast granted to him

وَأَعْدَدْتَ لَهُ مِنْ كَرَامَتِكَ.
wa aa'-dat-ta lahoo min karaamatik
103.and the generosity You hast prepared for him!

أللَّهُمَّ وَأَيُّمَا مُسْلِم أَهَمَّهُ أَمْرُ الإِسْلاَمِ
al-laahum-ma wa ay-yumaa mus-limin aham-mahooo am-rul-is-laam
104.O God, and if the affair of Islam should worry a Muslim

وَأَحْزَنَهُ تَحَزُّبُ أَهْلِ ألشِّرْكِ عَلَيْهِمْ
wa ah'-zanahoo tah'az-zubu ah-lish-shir-ki a'lay-him
105.and the alliance of the idolaters' against Islam should grieve him,

فَنَوَى غَزْواً أَوْ هَمَّ بِجهَـاد
fanawaa ghaz-waa aw ham-ma bijihaad
106.so that he has the intention to go to war and is about to enter the struggle,

فَقَعَدَ بِـهِ ضَعْفٌ أَوْ أَبطَأَتْ بِهِ فَاقَةٌ،
faqaa'da bihee z''aa'-f aw ab-t'aat bihee faaqah
107.but frailty keeps him seated, neediness keeps him waiting,

أَوْ أَخَّرَهُ عَنْهُ حَادِثٌ،
aw akh-kharahoo a'n-hoo h'aadith
108.a mishap delays him,

أَوْ عَرَضَ لَهُ دُونَ إرَادَتِهِ مَانِعٌ،
aw a'raz''a lahoo doona iraadatihee maania'
109.or an obstruction prevents him from his wish,

فَاكْتُبِ اسْمَـهُ فِي الْعَابِدِينَ
fak-tubi as-mahoo fil-a'abideen
110.write his name among the worshipers,

وَأوْجبْ لَهُ ثَوَابَ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ
wa aw-jib lahoo thawaabal-mujaahideen
111.make incumbent for him the reward of the strugglers,

وَاجْعَلْهُ فِي نِظَامِ الشُّهَدَاءِ وَالصَّالِحِينَ .
waj-a'l-hoo fee niz'aamish-shuhadaaa-i was'-s'aalih'een
112.and place him among the ranks of the martyrs and the righteous!

أللَّهُمَّ صَـلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُولِكَ
al-laahum-ma s'al-li a'laa muh'am-madin a'b-dika wa rasoolika
113.O God, bless Muhammad, Your slave and Your messenger,

وَآلِ مُحَمَّد صَلاَةً عَالِيَةً عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ
wa aaali muh'am-madin s'alaatan a'aleeatan a'laas'-s'alawaat
114.and the Household of Muhammad, with a blessing high above all other blessings,

مُشْرِفَةً فَوْقَ التَّحِيَّاتِ،
mush-rifatan faw-qat-tah'ee-yaat
115.towering beyond all other salutations,

صَلاَةً لاَ يَنْتَهِي أَمَدُهَا
s'alaatal-laa yantahee madaduhaa
116.a blessing whose end is never reached

وَلا يَنْقَطِعُ عَدَدُهَا
wa laa yanqat'iu' a'daduhaa
117.and whose number is never cut off,

كَأَتَمِّ مَـا مَضَى مِنْ صَلَوَاتِكَ
kaatam-mi maa maz''aa min s'alawaatika
118.like the most perfect of Your blessings that has passed

عَلَى أَحَد مِنْ أَوْلِيـائِكَ،
a'laaa ah'adim-min aw-leeaaa-ik
119.to any one of Your friends!

إنَّـكَ الْمَنَّانُ الْحَمِيدُ
in-nakal-man-naanul-h'ameed
120.You art All-kind, Praiseworthy,

الْمُبْدِئُ الْمُعِيدُ
al-mub-di-ul-mue'ed
121.the Originator who takes back again,

الفَعَّالُ لِمَا تُرِيْدُ.
al-faa'-a'alu limaa tureed
122.Accomplisher of what You desirest.
