Du`a Allahumma idfa`an waliyyik in occultation -by Imam Reza(as) Duas.org

اَللَّهُمَّ ٱدْفَعْ عَنْ وَلِيِّكَ

allahumma idfa` `an waliyyika

O Allah, (please do) defend Your vicegerent,

وَخَلِيفَتِكَ وَحُجَّتِكَ عَلَىٰ خَلْقِكَ

wa khalifatika wa hujjatika `ala khalqika

representative, decisive argument against Your creatures,

وَلِسَانِكَ ٱلْمُعَبِّرِ عَنْكَ

wa lisanika almu`abbiri `anka

and mouthpiece who speaks on behalf of You

ٱلنَّاطِقِ بِحِكْمَتِكَ

alnnatiqi bihikmatika

and speaks with Your wisdom,

وَعَيْنِكَ ٱلنَّاظِرَةِ بِإِذْنِكَ

wa `aynika alnnazirati bi'idhnika

Your eye that sees with Your permission,

وَشَاهِدِكَ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِكَ

wa shahidika `ala `ibadika

Your witness on Your servants,

ٱلْجَحْجَاحِ ٱلْمُجَاهِدِ

aljahjahi almujahidi

the magnanimous master, the striver (for the sake of Allah),

ٱلْعَائِذِ بِكَ ٱلْعَابِدِ عِنْدَكَ

al`a'idhi bika al`abidi `indaka

the seeker of Your shelter, and the full worshipper in Your measures.

وَأَعِذْهُ مِنْ شَرِّ جَمِيعِ مَا خَلَقْتَ وَبَرَأْتَ

wa a`idhhu min sharri jami`i ma khalaqta wa bara'ta

Keep him safe from the evils of all that which You created, originated,

وَأَنْشَأْتَ وَصَوَّرْتَ

wa ansha'ta wa sawwarta

established, and formed.

وَٱحْفَظْهُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ

wahfazhu min bayni yadayhi wa min khalfihi

And protect him from the sides of his front, his back,

وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ

wa `an yaminihi wa `an shimalihi

his right, his left,

وَمِنْ فَوْقِهِ وَمِنْ تَحْتِهِ

wa min fawqihi wa min tahtihi

above him, and beneath him,

بِحِفْظِكَ ٱلَّذِي لاَ يَضِيعُ مَنْ حَفِظْتَهُ بِهِ

bihifzika alladhi la yadi`u man hafiztahu bihi

with Your safety that preserves from any loss.

وَٱحْفَظْ فِيهِ رَسُولَكَ وَآبَاءَهُ

wahfaz fihi rasulaka wa aba'ahu

And safeguard through him Your Messenger and his fathers;

أَئِمَّتَكَ وَدَعَائِمَ دِينِكَ

a'immataka wa da`a'ima dinika

the Imams appointed by You and the pillars of Your religion.

وَٱجْعَلْهُ فِي وَدِيعَتِكَ ٱلَّتِي لاَ تَضِيعُ

waj`alhu fi wadi`atika allati la tadi`u

And place him in Your deposit that is never lost,

وَفِي جِوَارِكَ ٱلَّذِي لاَ يُخْفَرُ

wa fi jiwarika alladhi la yukhfaru

in Your vicinity that is never violated,

وَفِي مَنْعِكَ وَعِزِّكَ ٱلَّذِي لاَ يُقْهَرُ

wa fi man`ika wa `izzika alladhi la yuqharu

and in Your protection and almightiness that are never defeated.

وَآمِنْهُ بِأَمَانِكَ ٱلْوَثِيقِ

wa aminhu bi'amanika alwathiqi

And secure him by Your well-firmed security

ٱلَّذِي لاَ يُخْذَلُ مَنْ آمَنْتَهُ بِهِ

alladhi la yukhdhalu man amantahu bihi

that does not forsake whoever takes asylum in it.

وَٱجْعَلْهُ فِي كَنَفِكَ

waj`alhu fi kanafika

And make him under Your protection

ٱلَّذِي لاَ يُرَامُ مَنْ كَانَ فِيهِ

alladhi la yuramu man kana fihi

that saves whoever is put under it from any harm.

وَٱنْصُرْهُ بِنَصْرِكَ ٱلْعَزِيزِ

wansurhu binasrika al`azizi

Grant him Your insuperable victory,

وَأَيِّدْهُ بِجُنْدِكَ ٱلْغَالِبِ

wa ayyid-hu bijundika alghalibi

aid him with Your overcoming troops,

وَقَوِّهِ بِقُوَّتِكَ

wa qawwihi biquwwatika

strengthen him with Your strength,

وَأَرْدِفْهُ بِمَلاَئِكَتِكَ

wa ardifhu bimala'ikatika

put Your angels at his disposal,

وَوَالِ مَنْ وَالاَهُ

wa wali man walahu

support whoever supports him,

وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ

wa `adi man `adahu

be the enemy of whoever opposes him,

وَأَلْبِسْهُ دِرْعَكَ ٱلْحَصِينَةَ

wa albis-hu dir`aka alhasinata

dress him Your fortified armor,

وَحُفَّهُ بِٱلْمَلاَئِكَةِ حَفّاً

wa huffahu bilmala'ikati haffan

and make the angels surround him totally.

اَللَّهُمَّ ٱشْعَبْ بِهِ ٱلصَّدْعَ

allahumma ish`ab bihi alssad`a

O Allah, through him patch up the differences of opinion,

وَٱرْتُقْ بِهِ ٱلْفَتْقَ

wartuq bihi alfatqa

bring into order confusion,

وَأَمِتْ بِهِ ٱلْجَوْرَ

wa amit bihi aljawra

eradicate oppression,

وَأَظْهِرْ بِهِ ٱلْعَدْلَ

wa azhir bihi al`adla

manifest justice,

وَزَيِّنْ بِطُولِ بَقَائِهِ ٱلأَرْضَ

wa zayyin bituli baqa'ihi al-arda

adorn the earth by a lengthy life for him,

وَأَيِّدْهُ بِٱلنَّصْرِ

wa ayyid-hu binnasri

support him with victory,

وَٱنْصُرْهُ بِٱلرُّعْبِ

wansurhu bilrru`bi

grant him triumph by means of horror,

وَقَوِّ نَاصِرِيهِ

wa qawwi nasirihi

reinforce his supporters,

وَٱخْذُلْ خَاذِلِيهِ

wakhdhul khadhilihi

thwart his disappointers,

وَدَمْدِمْ مَنْ نَصَبَ لَهُ

wa damdim man nasaba lahu

crush those who lay traps for him,

وَدَمِّرْ مَنْ غَشَّهُ

wa dammir man ghashshahu

destroy those who cheat him,

وَٱقْتُلْ بِهِ جَبَابِرَةَ ٱلْكُفْرِ وَعُمُدَهُ وَدَعَائِمَهُ

waqtul bihi jababirata al-kufr wa `umudahu wa da`a'imahu

kill the tyrants, pillars, and supports of infidelity at his hands,

وَٱقْصِمْ بِهِ رُؤُوسَ ٱلضَّلاَلَةِ وَشَارِعَةَ ٱلْبِدَعِ

waqsim bihi ru'usa alddalalati wa shari`ata albida`i

uproot the heads of deviation, the innovators of heresies,

وَمُمِيتَةَ ٱلسُّنَّةِ وَمُقَوِّيَةَ ٱلْبَاطِلِ

wa mumitata alssunnati wa muqawwiyata albatili

the eradicators of the Prophetic traditions, and the backers of wrong,

وَذَلِّلْ بِهِ ٱلْجَبَّارِينَ

wa dhallil bihi aljabbarina

humiliate the haughty tyrants,

وَأَبِرْ بِهِ ٱلْكَافِرِينَ وَجَمِيعَ ٱلْمُلْحِدِينَ

wa abir bihi alkafirina wa jami`a almulhidina

terminate the infidels and all atheists

فِي مَشَارِقِ ٱلأَرْضِ وَمَغَارِبِهَا

fi mashariqi al-ardi wa magharibiha

wherever they are—in the east or the west of the earth

وَبَرِّهَا وَبَحْرِهَا

wa barriha wa bahriha

or in lands or oceans,

وَسَهْلِهَا وَجَبَلِهَا

wa sahliha wa jabaliha

or in plains or on mountains,

حَتَّىٰ لاَ تَدَعَ مِنْهُمْ دَيَّاراً

hatta la tada`a minhum dayyaran

until You will not leave a single one of them

وَلاَ تُبْقِيَ لَهُمْ آثَاراً

wa la tubqi lahum atharan

and You will not leave a single trace of them.

اَللَّهُمَّ طَهِّرْ مِنْهُمْ بِلاَدَكَ

allahumma tahhir minhum biladaka

O Allah, clear up Your lands from them,

وَٱشْفِ مِنْهُمْ عِبَادَكَ

washfi minhum `ibadaka

heal your servants’ hearts from them,

وَأَعِزَّ بِهِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

wa a`izza bihi almu'minina

consolidate the faithful believers through him,

وَأَحْيِ بِهِ سُنَنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

wa ahyi bihi sunana almursalina

revive the norms of the Messengers

وَدَارِسَ حُكْمِ ٱلنَّبِيِّينَ

wa darisa hukmi alnnabiyyina

and the obliterated rules of the Prophets,

وَجَدِّدْ بِهِ مَا ٱمْتَحَىٰ مِنْ دِينِكَ

wa jaddid bihi ma imtaha min dinika

and renew the signs of Your religion that were erased

وَبُدِّلَ مِنْ حُكْمِكَ

wa buddila min hukmika

and Your judgments that were distorted;

حَتَّىٰ تُعِيدَ دِينَكَ بِهِ وَعَلَىٰ يَدَيْهِ جَدِيداً

hatta tu`ida dinaka bihi wa `ala yadayhi jadidan

until you rekindle Your religion through him and at his hands

غَضّاً مَحْضاً صَحِيحاً

ghaddan mahdan sahihan

as well-defined, pure, and sound as it is;

لاَ عِوَجَ فِيهِ وَلاَ بِدْعَةَ مَعَهُ

la `iwaja fihi wa la bid`ata ma`ahu

free from loopholes and heresies,

وَحَتَّىٰ تُنِيرَ بِعَدْلِهِ ظُلَمَ ٱلْجَوْرِ

wa hatta tunira bi`adlihi zulama aljawri

and until You illumine the murk of unfairness by means of his justice,

وَتُطْفِئَ بِهِ نِيرَانَ ٱلْكُفْرِ

wa tutfi'a bihi nirana alkufri

extinguish the fires of atheism though him,

وَتُوضِحَ بِهِ مَعَاقِدَ ٱلْحَقِّ

wa tudiha bihi ma`aqida alhaqqi

and elucidate the positions of truth

وَمَجْهُولَ ٱلْعَدْلِ

wa majhula al`adli

and the justice that will have been unknown.

فَإِنَّهُ عَبْدُكَ ٱلَّذِي ٱسْتَخْلَصْتَهُ لِنَفْسِكَ

fa'innahu `abduka alladhi istakhlastahu linafsika

He is verily Your servant whom You have saved for Yourself,

وَٱصْطَفَيْتَهُ عَلَىٰ غَيْبِكَ

wastafaytahu `ala ghaybika

chosen for keeping the unseen matters of You,

وَعَصَمْتَهُ مِنَ ٱلذُّنُوبِ

wa `asamtahu min aldhdhunubi

protected against sins,

وَبَرَّأْتَهُ مِنَ ٱلْعُيُوبِ

wa barra'tahu min al`uyubi

cleaned from any defect,

وَطَهَّرْتَهُ مِنَ ٱلرِّجْسِ

wa tahhartahu min alrrijsi

purified from filth,

وَسَلَّمْتَهُ مِنَ ٱلدَّنَسِ

wa sallamtahu min alddanasi

and kept sound against dirt.

اَللَّهُمَّ فَإِنَّا نَشْهَدُ لَهُ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَامَةِ

allahumma fa'inna nashhadu lahu yawma alqiyamati

O Allah, we will verily testify to him on the Day of Resurrection

وَيَوْمَ حُلُولِ ٱلطَّامَّةِ

wa yawma hululi alttammati

and on the day when the overwhelming event comes

أَنَّهُ لَمْ يُذْنِبْ ذَنْباً

annahu lam yudhnib dhanban

that he did not commit any single sin,

وَلاَ أَتَىٰ حُوباً

wa la ata huban

nor did he practice any unlawful thing,

وَلَمْ يَرْتَكِبْ مَعْصِيَةً

wa lam yartakib ma`siyatan

nor did he do any act of disobedience (to You),

وَلَمْ يُضَيِّعْ لَكَ طَاعَةً

wa lam yudayyi` laka ta`atan

nor did he miss any act of obedience (to You),

وَلَمْ يَهْتِكْ لَكَ حُرْمَةً

wa lam yahtik laka hurmatan

nor did he violate any inviolable thing,

وَلَمْ يُبَدِّلْ لَكَ فَرِيضَةً

wa lam yubaddil laka faridatan

nor did he distort any precept,

وَلَمْ يُغَيِّرْ لَكَ شَرِيعَةً

wa lam yughayyir laka shari`atan

nor did he change any law.

وَأَنَّهُ ٱلْهَادِي ٱلْمُهْتَدِي

wa annahu alhadi almuhtadi

And, moreover, he is verily the guiding, the rightly guided,

ٱلطَّاهِرُ ٱلتَّقِيُّ

alttahiru alttaqiyyu

the pure, the pious,

ٱلنَّقِيُّ ٱلرَّضِيُّ ٱلزَّكِيُ

alnnaqiyyu alrradiyyu alzzakiyyu

the immaculate, the approved, and the bright.

اَللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِهِ فِي نَفْسِهِ

allahumma a`tihi fi nafsihi

O Allah, give him what he wishes regarding his own self

وَأَهْلِهِ وَوَلَدِهِ

wa ahlihi wa waladihi

his family, his sons,

وَذُرِّيَّتِهِ وَأُمَّتِهِ

wa dhurriyyatihi wa ummatihi

his offspring, his nation,

وَجَمِيعِ رَعِيَّتِهِ

wa jami`i ra`iyyatihi

and all of his subjects

مَا تُقِرُّ بِهِ عَيْنَهُ

ma tuqirru bihi `aynahu

in such a way that makes him delighted

وَتَسُرُّ بِهِ نَفْسَهُ

wa tasurru bihi nafsahu

and pleased in himself,

وَتَجْمَعُ لَهُ مُلْكَ ٱلْمَمْلَكَاتِ كُلِّهَا

wa tajma`u lahu mulka almamlakati kulliha

and makes You put under his sphere of influence all kingdoms;

قَرِيبِهَا وَبَعِيدِهَا

qaribiha wa ba`idiha

the near and the remote,

وَعَزِيزِهَا وَذَلِيلِهَا

wa `aziziha wa dhaliliha

and the powerful and the weak

حَتَّىٰ تُجْرِيَ حُكْمَهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ حُكْمٍ

hatta tujriya hukmahu `ala kulli hukmin

so that You will cause his rule to prevail over every rule

وَيَغْلِبَ بِحَقِّهِ كُلَّ بَاطِلٍ

wa yaghliba bihaqqihi kulla batilin

and his right (issue) to overcome the entire wrongness.

اَللَّهُمَّ ٱسْلُكْ بِنَا عَلَىٰ يَدَيْهِ

allahumma isluk bina `ala yadayhi

O Allah, lead us at his hands

مِنْهَاجَ ٱلْهُدَى

minhaja alhuda

to the course of guidance,

وَٱلْمَحَجَّةَ ٱلْعُظْمَى

walmahajjata al`uzma

the greatest Path,

وَٱلطَّرِيقَةَ ٱلْوُسْطَى

walttariqata alwusta

and the equitable way of life

ٱلَّتِي يَرْجِعُ إِلَيْهَا ٱلْغَالِي

allati yarji`u ilayha alghali

to which those who had gone too far will come back (repentant)

وَيَلْحَقُ بِهَا ٱلتَّالِي

wa yalhaqu biha alttali

and those who had fallen down will catch up.

وَقَوِّنَا عَلَىٰ طَاعَتِهِ

wa qawwina `ala ta`atihi

And (please) encourage us to carry out acts of obedience to him,

وَثَبِّتْنَا عَلَىٰ مُشَايَعَتِهِ

wa thabbitna `ala mushaya`atihi

make us stand firmly in following him,

وَٱمْنُنْ عَلَيْنَا بِمُتَابَعَتِهِ

wamunu `alayna bimutaba`atihi

endue us with the favor of adherence to him,

وَٱجْعَلْنَا فِي حِزْبِهِ ٱلْقَوَّامِينَ بِأَمْرِهِ

waj`alna fi hizbihi alqawwamina bi'amrihi

and include us with his group who achieve his commands,

ٱلصَّابِرِينَ مَعَهُ

alssabirina ma`ahu

act steadfastly towards him,

ٱلطَّالِبِينَ رِضَاكَ بِمُنَاصَحَتِهِ

alttalibina ridaka bimunasahatihi

and seek Your pleasure by means of acting sincerely to him,

حَتَّىٰ تَحْشُرَنَا يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَامَةِ فِي أَنْصَارِهِ

hatta tahshurana yawma alqiyamati fi ansarihi

so that You will gather us on the Resurrection Day with his supporters,

وَأَعْوَانِهِ وَمُقَوِّيَةِ سُلْطَانِهِ

wa a`wanihi wa muqawwiyati sultanihi

backers, and those who consolidate his authority.

اَللَّهُمَّ وَٱجْعَلْ ذٰلِكَ لَنَا

allahumma waj`al dhalika lana

O Allah, make us do all these things

خَالِصاً مِنْ كُلِّ شَكٍّ وَشُبْهَةٍ

khalisan min kulli shakkin wa shubhatin

free from any doubt, confusion,

وَرِيَاءٍ وَسُمْعَةٍ

wa riya'in wa sum`atin

ostentation, and seeking of reputation

حَتَّىٰ لاَ نَعْتَمِدَ بِهِ غَيْرَكَ

hatta la na`tamida bihi ghayraka

so that we will rely upon none save You

وَلاَ نَطْلُبَ بِهِ إِلاَّ وَجْهَكَ

wa la natluba bihi illa wajhaka

and seek none save Your sake

وَحَتَّىٰ تُحِلَّنَا مَحَلَّهُ

wa hatta tuhillana mahallahu

and that You will put us up in his vicinity

وَتَجْعَلَنَا فِي ٱلْجَنَّةِ مَعَهُ

wa taj`alana filjannati ma`ahu

and place us with him in Paradise.

وَأَعِذْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّأْمَةِ وَٱلْكَسَلِ وَٱلْفَتْرَةِ

wa a`idhna min alssa'mati walkasali walfatrati

And (please) protect us against weariness, laziness and lethargy

وَٱجْعَلْنَا مِمَّنْ تَنْتَصِرُ بِهِ لِدِينِكَ

waj`alna mimman tantasiru bihi lidinika

and include us with those whom You take up for backing Your religion

وَتُعِزُّ بِهِ نَصْرَ وَلِيِّكَ

wa tu`izzu bihi nasra waliyyika

and for increasing the victory of Your vicegerent.

وَلاَ تَسْتَبْدِلْ بِنَا غَيْرَنَا

wa la tastabdil bina ghayrana

Do not put others in our places,

فَإِنَّ ٱسْتِبْدَالَكَ بِنَا غَيْرَنَا عَلَيْكَ يَسِيرٌ

fa'inna istibdalaka bina ghayrana `alayka yasirun

because it is easy for You to put others in our places,

وَهُوَ عَلَيْنَا كَثِيـرٌ

wa huwa `alayna kathirun

but it is extremely difficult for us if You do it.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ وُلاَةِ عَهْدِهِ

allahumma salli `ala wulati `ahdihi

O Allah, send blessings upon his representatives

وَٱلأَئِمَّةِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ

wal-a'immati min ba`dihi

and the leaders after him,

وَبَلِّغْهُمْ آمَالَهُمْ

wa ballighhum amalahum

make them attain their wishes,

وَزِدْ فِي آجَالِهِمْ

wa zid fi ajalihim

increase their lifetimes,

وَأَعِزَّ نَصْرَهُمْ

wa a`izza nasrahum

support their victory,

وَتَمِّمْ لَهُمْ مَا أَسْنَدْتَ إِلَيْهِمْ مِنْ أَمْرِكَ لَهُمْ

wa tammim lahum ma asnadta ilayhim min amrika lahum

make perfect for them Your orders that You bid them to carry out,

وَثَبِّتْ دَعَائِمَهُمْ

wa thabbit da`a`imahum

strengthen their pillars,

وَٱجْعَلْنَا لَهُمْ أَعْوَاناً

waj`alna lahum a`wanan

and make us their helpers

وَعَلَىٰ دِينِكَ أَنْصَاراً

wa `ala dinika ansaran

and supporters of Your religion.

فَإِنَّهُمْ مَعَادِنُ كَلِمَاتِكَ

fa'innahum ma`adinu kalimatika

They are the essence of Your Words,

وَخُزَّانُ عِلْمِكَ

wa khuzzanu `ilmika

the Treasurers of Your knowledge,

وَأَرْكَانُ تَوْحِيدِكَ

wa arkanu tawhidika

the pillars of the profession of Your Oneness,

وَدَعَائِمُ دِينِكَ

wa da`a'imu dinika

the posts of Your religion,

وَوُلاَةُ أَمْرِكَ

wa wulatu amrika

the authorities of Your commands,

وَخَالِصَتُكَ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ

wa khalisatuka min `ibadika

the choices over Your servants,

وَصَفْوَتُكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

wa safwatuka min khalqika

the well-chosen ones from among Your creatures,

وَأَوْلِيَاؤُكَ وَسَلاَئِلُ أَوْلِيَائِكَ

wa awliya'uka wa sala'ilu awliya'ika

the vicegerents of You, the offspring of Your vicegerents,

وَصَفْوَةُ أَوْلاَدِ نَبِيِّكَ

wa safwatu awladi nabiyyika

and the selected descendants of Your Prophet.

وَٱلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمْ

walssalamu `alayhi wa `alayhim

Peace be upon him and them.

وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

wa rahmatu allahi wa barakatuhu

Allah’s mercy and blessings, too, be upon them.

[4] SUPPLICATION FOR THE PERIOD OF OCCULTATION BY ANOTHER NARRATION
The Honorable Sayyid Ali bin Taoos writes: Yunus bin Abdur Rahman narrates from Imam Reza (A.S.) that his holiness always recommended us to recite supplication for Imam Mahdi (A.S.), and one of his supplication for Imam Mahdi (A.S.) is the following one:

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ،
وَادْفَعْ عَنْ وَلِيِّكَ وَخَليفَتِكَ وَحُجَّتِكَ عَلى خَلْقِكَ ،
وَلِسانِكَ الْمُعَبِّرِ عَنْكَ بِإِذْنِكَ ،
اَلنَّاطِقِ بِحِكْمَتِكَ ،
وَعَيْنِكَ النَّاظِرَةِ في بَرِيَّتِكَ ،
اَلشَّاهِدِ عَلى عِبادِكَ ،
اَلْجَحْجاحِ الْمُجاهِدِ الْمُجْتَهِدِ ،
عَبْدِكَ الْعائِذِ بِكَ .

O’ Allah, bless Mohammad and his household, and keep all the calamities away from Your Guardian, Vicegerent and Proof for the creation, and Your tongue which speaks the truth with Your permission, which utters Your wisdom, who is Your gazing eyes for the creation, the witness over Your slaves, the effortful striver who seeks refuge in You.

أَللَّهُمَّ وَأَعِذْهُ مِنْ شَرِّ ما خَلَقْتَ وَذَرَأْتَ ،
وَبَرَأْتَ وَأَنْشَأْتَ وَصَوَّرْتَ ،
وَاحْفَظْهُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ ،
وَعَنْ يَمينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمالِهِ ،
وَمِنْ فَوْقِهِ وَمِنْ تَحْتِهِ ،
بِحِفْظِكَ الَّذي لايَضيعُ مَنْ حَفِظْتَهُ بِهِ ،
وَاحْفَظْ فيهِ رَسُولَكَ وَوَصِيَّ رَسُولِكَ وَآبائَهُ ،
أَئِمَّتَكَ وَدَعائِمَ دينِكَ ،
صَلَواتُكَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعينَ ،
وَاجْعَلْهُ في وَديعَتِكَ الَّتي لاتَضيعُ ،
وَفي جِوارِكَ الَّذي لايُحْتَقَرُ ،
وَفي مَنْعِكَ وَعِزِّكَ الَّذي لايُقْهَرُ .

O’ Allah, protect him from the evil of what You created and brought into being, invented, initiated and shaped, and protect him from the front and behind his back, from his right and his left, from above him and below him, with Your protection which saves the protected from destruction.
And protect Your Prophet, and the successor of Your Prophet and his fathers, Your Imams and the pillars of Your religion, peace be upon all of them, and regard him as Your deposit which cannot be wasted, place him in Your vicinity which does not degrade, and in Your support and dignity wich cannot be dominated.

أَللَّهُمَّ وَآمِنْهُ بِأَمانِكَ الْوَثيقِ الَّذي لايُخْذَلُ مَنْ آمَنْتَهُ بِهِ ،
وَاجْعَلْهُ في كَنَفِكَ الَّذي لايُضامُ مَنْ كانَ فيهِ ،
وَانْصُرْهُ بِنَصْرِكَ الْعَزيزِ ،
وَأَيِّدْهُ بِجُنْدِكَ الْغالِبِ ،
وَقَوِّهِ بِقُوَّتِكَ ،
وَأَرْدِفْهُ بِمَلائِكَتِكَ .

O’ Allah, protect him through Your firm protection which saves the protected from being dominated, and place him in Your surrounding and under Your shadow of grace wherein whoever is placed does not get oppressed, and support him with Your powerful support, and help him with Your overcoming army, angels.

أَللَّهُمَّ والِ مَنْ والاهُ ،
وَعادِ مَنْ عاداهُ ،
وَأَلْبِسْهُ دِرْعَكَ الْحَصينَةَ ،
وَحُفَّهُ بِمَلائِكَتِكَ حَفّاً .

O’ Allah, befriend all those who befriend him, and envy all those who envy him, and cover him with Your firm armor, and gather Your angels in his surroundings.

أَللَّهُمَّ وَبَلِّغْهُ أَفْضَلَ ما بَلَّغْتَ الْقائِمينَ بِقِسْطِكَ مِنْ أَتْباعِ النَّبِيّينَ .

O’ Allah, send to him the best of what You have sent towards the establishers of justice among the followers of Prophets.
and strengthen him with Your strength, and accompany him with Your

أَللَّهُمَّ اشْعَبْ بِهِ الصَّدْعَ ،
وَارْتُقْ بِهِ الْفَتْقَ ،
وَأَمِتْ بِهِ الْجَوْرَ ،
وَأَظْهِرْ بِهِ الْعَدْلَ ،
وَزَيِّنْ بِطُولِ بَقائِهِ الْأَرْضَ ،
وَأَيِّدْهُ بِالنَّصْرِ ،
وَانْصُرْهُ بِالرُّعْبِ ،
وَافْتَحْ لَهُ فَتْحاً يَسيراً ،
وَاجْعَلْ لَهُ مِنْ لَدُنْكَ عَلى عَدُوِّكَ وَعَدُوِّهِ سُلْطاناً نَصيراً .

O’ Allah, end all the differences through his noble existence, and put an end to all the disorientations and conflicts through him, and put oppression to death by his help, and let justice prevail, and adorn the earth which his prolong stay, and assist him with divine support, and make him victorious by creating his fear upon hearts, and provide him an easy victory.

أَللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ الْقائِمَ الْمُنْتَظَرَ ،
وَالْإِمامَ الَّذي بِهِ تَنْتَصِرُ ،
وَأَيِّدْهُ بِنَصْرٍ عَزيزٍ وَفَتْحٍ قَريبٍ،
وَوَرِّثْهُ مَشارِقَ الْأَرْضِ وَمَغارِبَهَا اللّاتي بارَكْتَ فيها ،
وَأَحْيِ بِهِ سُنَّةَ نَبِيِّكَ صَلَواتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ ،
حَتَّى لايَسْتَخْفِيَ بِشَيْ‏ءٍ مِنَ الْحَقِّ مَخافَةَ أَحَدٍ مِنَ الْخَلْقِ ،
وَقَوِّ ناصِرَهُ ،
وَاخْذُلْ خاذِلَهُ ،
وَدَمْدِمْ عَلى مَنْ نَصَبَ لَهُ ،
وَدَمِّرْ عَلى مَنْ غَشَّهُ .

O’ Allah, make him the Riser, the Anticipated, the Imam through whom You will support us, and assist him with your powerful help and a nearing victory, and help him inherit the easts and wests of earth which are blessed by You, and revive Your prophet’s tradition through him, peace be upon him and his Progeny, until anything from the truth is not concealed due to the fear of anyone from the creation, and strengthen his supporter, and humiliate those who humiliate him, send Your wrath upon those who apparently envy him, and destroy those who plot against him.

أَللَّهُمَّ وَاقْتُلْ بِهِ جَبابِرَةَ الْكُفْرِ وَعُمُدَهُ ،
وَدَعائِمَهُ وَالقُوَّامَ بِهِ ،
وَاقْصِمْ بِهِ رُؤُوسَ الضَّلالَةِ ،
وَشارِعَةَ الْبِدْعَةِ ،
وَمُميتَةَ السُّنَّةِ ،
وَمُقَوِّيَةَ الْباطِلِ ،
وَأَذْلِلْ بِهِ الْجَبَّارينَ ،
وَأَبِرْ بِهِ الْكافِرينَ وَالْمُنافِقينَ ،
وَجَميعَ الْمُلْحِدينَ ،
حَيْثُ كانُوا وَأَيْنَ كانُوا مِنْ مَشارِقِ الْأَرْضِ وَمَغارِبِها ،
وَبَرِّها وَبَحْرِها ،
وَسَهْلِها وَجَبَلِها ،
حَتَّى لاتَدَعَ مِنْهُمْ دَيَّاراً ،
وَلاتُبْقِيَ لَهُمْ آثاراً .

O’ Allah, put the infidel tyrants and their bases to death through him, and destroy its foundations and establishers, destroy with his divine power all the heads of misguidance, sources of changes, finishers of traditions, enhancers of evil; humiliate all the tyrants, infidels, hypocrites and all the disbelievers through him, `wherever and whenever they might exist in the easts and wests of earth, in the lands and the seas, in the deserts and on the mountains, until there remains none from them and no sign of them is left.

أَللَّهُمَّ وَطَهِّرْ مِنْهُمْ بِلادَكَ ،
وَاشْفِ مِنْهُمْ عِبادَكَ ،
وَأَعِزَّ بِهِ الْمُؤْمِنينَ ،
وَأَحْيِ بِهِ سُنَنَ الْمُرْسَلينَ ،
وَدارِسَ حِكَمِ النَّبِيّينَ ،
وَجَدِّدْ بِهِ ما مُحِيَ مِنْ دينِكَ ،
وَبُدِّلَ مِنْ حُكْمِكَ ،
حَتَّى تُعيدَ دينَكَ بِهِ وَعَلى يَدَيْهِ غَضّاً جَديداً صَحيحاً مَحْضاً ،
لا عِوَجَ فيهِ ،
وَلا بِدْعَةَ مَعَهُ ،
حَتَّى تُنيرَ بِعَدْلِهِ ظُلَمَ الْجَوْرِ ،
وَتُطْفِئَ بِهِ نيرانَ الْكُفْرِ ،
وَتُظْهِرَ بِهِ مَعاقِدَ الْحَقِّ ،
وَمَجْهُولَ الْعَدْلِ ،
وَتُوضِحَ بِهِ مُشْكِلاتِ الْحُكْمِ .

O’ Allah, purify Your cities off them, and cure Your slaves with their destruction, and honor the believers with his holiness, and revive the traditions of the prophets and the wisdom of Your messenger (which was forgotten), and bring back through him all that was abolished from the religion, and altered from Your commands, until Your true religion returns through him in a fresh, pure, unaltered, and correct form, without any deviation or changes; so that the darkness of oppressions is illuminated by his light of justice, and extinguish the fire of infidelity through him, and solve the knots and webs of truth through him, and make the unknown justice evident through him, and clear the difficulties of the rulings through him.

أَللَّهُمَّ وَإِنَّهُ عَبْدُكَ الَّذِي اسْتَخْلَصْتَهُ لِنَفْسِكَ ،
وَاصْطَفَيْتَهُ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ ،
وَاصْطَفَيْتَهُ عَلى عِبادِكَ ،
وَائْتَمَنْتَهُ عَلى غَيْبِكَ ،
وَعَصَمْتَهُ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ ،
وَبَرَّأْتَهُ مِنَ الْعُيُوبِ ،
وَطَهَّرْتَهُ ] مِنَ الرِّجْسِ[ ،
وَصَرَّفْتَهُ عَنِ الدَّنَسِ ،
وَسَلَّمْتَهُ مِنَ الرَّيْبِ .

O’ Allah, indeed he is Your slave whom You have purified for Yourself, and have chosen from Your creations, who is trustworthy for knowing the unseen, whom You have protected from sins, and kept away from flaws, and purified from filths, and cleaned from all impurities, and secured from all doubts and skepticisms.

أَللَّهُمَّ فَإِنَّا نَشْهَدُ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيامَةِ ،
وَيَوْمَ حُلُولِ الطَّامَّةِ ،
أَنَّهُ لَمْ يُذْنِبْ وَلَمْ يَأْتِ حَوْباً ،
وَلَمْ يَرْتَكِبْ لَكَ مَعْصِيَةً ،
وَلَمْ يُضَيِّعْ لَكَ طاعَةً ،
وَلَمْ يَهْتِكْ لَكَ حُرْمَةً ،
وَلَمْ يُبَدِّلْ لَكَ فَريضَةً ،
وَلَمْ يُغَيِّرْ لَكَ شَريعَةً ،
وَأَنَّهُ الْإِمامُ التَّقِيُّ الْهادِى الْمَهْدِيُّ الطَّاهِرُ التَّقِيُّ الْوَفِيُّ الرَّضِيُّ الزَّكِيُّ .

O’ Allah, indeed we bear witness for him on the day of Resurrection, the day of the occurrence of a great incident, that he has never sinned, nor committed any crime or wrongdoing, and he did not ignore Your obedience, nor did he break any sanctity, he hasn’t altered any obligation, nor did he change the Sharia, and that he is the Imam, the pious, the guide, the guided one, the purified, the god-fearing, the loyal, the desirable and the good-natured one.

أَللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلى آبائِهِ ،
وَأَعْطِهِ في نَفْسِهِ وَوُلْدِهِ ،
وَأَهْلِهِ وَذُرِّيَّتِهِ وَاُمَّتِهِ وَجَميعِ رَعِيَّتِهِ ،
ما تُقِرُّ بِهِ عَيْنَهُ ،
وَتَسُرُّ بِهِ نَفْسَهُ ،
وَتَجْمَعُ لَهُ مُلْكَ الْمُمْلَكاتِ كُلِّها ،
قَريبِها وَبَعيدِها ،
وَعَزيزِها وَذَليلِها ،
حَتَّى يَجْرِيَ حُكْمُهُ عَلى كُلِّ حُكْمٍ ،
وَيَغْلِبَ بِحَقِّهِ عَلى كُلِّ باطِلٍ .

O’ Allah, send mercy upon him and his forefathers, and grant him along with his children, family, his nation, and all his people, that which brightens his eyes, and which rejoices him, and gather all the governments for him, both the near and far ones, the dignified and the disgraced ones, until his command is established upon all the orders, and he dominates with his truth over all the evil.

أَللَّهُمَّ وَاسْلُكْ بِنا عَلى يَدَيْهِ مِنْهاجَ الْهُدى ،
وَالْمَحَجَّةَ الْعُظْمى ،
وَالطَّريقَةَ الْوُسْطى ،
اَلَّتي يَرْجِعُ إِلَيْهَا الْغالي ،
وَيَلْحَقُ بِهَا التَّالي .

O’ Allah, guide us with his hands through the path of guidance, and the bright way of moderation, the path of temperance, towards which returns the exaggerators, and which is joined by the arrears.

أَللَّهُمَّ وَقَوِّنا عَلى طاعَتِهِ،
وَثَبِّتْنا عَلى مُشايَعَتِهِ،
وَامْنُنْ عَلَيْنا بِمُتابَعَتِهِ،
وَاجْعَلْنا في حِزْبِهِ الْقَوَّامينَ بِأَمْرِهِ ،
اَلصَّابِرينَ مَعَهُ ،
اَلطَّالِبينَ رِضاكَ بِمُناصَحَتِهِ ،
حَتَّى تَحْشُرَنا يَوْمَ الْقِيامَةِ في أَنْصارِهِ وَأَعْوانِهِ ،
وَمُقَوِّيَةِ سُلْطانِهِ .

O’ Allah, strengthen us for his obedience, and make us firm for his support, and shower Your grace upon us for his imitation, and regard us amongst his army, the establishers of his command, those who endure with him, those who seek Your satisfaction by wishing his good, until You raise us on the Day of Resurrection among his supporters and companions, the establishers of his governance.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ،
وَاجْعَلْ ذلِكَ كُلَّهُ مِنَّا لَكَ خالِصاً مِنْ كُلِّ شَكٍّ وَشُبْهَةٍ وَرِياءٍ وَسُمْعَةٍ ،
حَتَّى لانَعْتَمِدَ بِهِ غَيْرَكَ ،
وَلانَطْلُبَ بِهِ إِلّا وَجْهَكَ ،
وَحَتَّى تُحِلَّنا مَحَلَّهُ ،

O’ Allah, bless Mohammad and his household, and regard all this from us purely for Yourself without any doubt or skepticism or hypocrisy and self-portrayal, so that we do not depend upon anyone for this act except You, and do not seek with it anything but You, until You place us on his threshold,

وَتَجْعَلَنا فِي الْجَنَّةِ مَعَهُ ،
وَلاتَبْتَلِنا في أَمْرِهِ بِالسَّآمَةِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْفَتْرَةِ وَالْفَشَلِ .وَاجْعَلْنا مِمَّنْ تَنْتَصِرُ بِهِ لِدينِكَ ،
وَتُعِزُّ بِهِ نَصْرَ وَلِيِّكَ ،
وَلاتَسْتَبْدِلْ بِنا غَيْرَنا ،
فَإِنَّ اسْتِبْدالَكَ بِنا غَيْرَناعَلَيْكَ يَسيرٌ ،
وَهُوَ عَلَيْنا كَبيرٌ ،
إِنَّكَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْ‏ءٍ قَديرٌ .

and along with him in heaven, and do not indulge us in any laziness, weakness, lethargy or tiredness regarding his obedience, and regard us among those through whom You will aid Your religion, and strengthen the support of Your Guardian, and do not exchange us for others, because this exchange will be easy for You but great upon us, indeed You are powerful over all things.

أَللَّهُمَّ وَصَلِّ عَلى وُلاةِ عُهُودِهِ ،
وَبَلِّغْهُمْ آمالَهُمْ ،
وَزِدْ في آجالِهِمْ وَانْصُرْهُمْ وَتَمِّمْ لَهُمْ ما أَسْنَدْتَ إِلَيْهِمْ مِنْ أَمْرِ دينِكَ ،
وَاجْعَلْنا لَهُمْ أَعْواناً وَعَلى دينِكَ أَنْصاراً ،
وَصَلِّ عَلى آبائِهِ الطَّاهِرينَ الْأَئِمَّةِ الرَّاشِدينَ .

O’ Allah, bless the governors of his times, and help them reach their desires, and increase their lives, and complete that which is related to them from the issues of Your religion, and regard us as their supporters and the supporters of Your religion, and bless his holy forefathers, the Guiding Imams.

أَللَّهُمَّ فَإِنَّهُمْ مَعادِنُ كَلِماتِكَ ،
وَخُزَّانُ عِلْمِكَ ،
وَوُلاةُ أَمْرِكَ ،
وَخالِصَتُكَ مِنْ عِبادِكَ،
وَخِيَرَتُكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ،
وَأَوْلِيائُكَ وَسَلائِلُ أَوْلِيائِكَ ،
وَصَفْوَتُكَ وَأَوْلادُ أَصْفِيائِكَ ،
صَلَواتُكَ وَرَحْمَتُكَ وَبَرَكاتُكَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعينَ .

O’ Allah, indeed the are the sources of Your word, the treasures of Your knowledge, the Guardians of Your order, the purified ones amongst Your slaves, the selected ones amongst Your creations, Your friends and the Progeny of Your friends, the chosen ones and their descendants, send Your blessings, grace and bounties upon all of them.

أَللَّهُمَّ وَشُرَكاؤُهُ في أَمْرِهِ ،
وَمُعاوِنُوهُ عَلى طاعَتِكَ ،
اَلَّذينَ جَعَلْتَهُمْ حِصْنَهُ وَسِلاحَهُ وَمَفْزَعَهُ وَاُنْسَهُ ،
اَلَّذينَ سَلَوْا عَنِ الْأَهْلِ وَالْأَوْلادِ ،
وَتَجافُوا الْوَطَنَ ،
وَعَطَّلُوا الْوَثيرَ مِنَ الْمِهادِ ،
قَدْ رَفَضُوا تِجاراتِهِمْ ،
وَأَضَرُّوا بِمَعايِشِهِمْ ،
وَفُقِدُوا في أَنْدِيَتِهِمْ بِغَيْرِ غَيْبَةٍ عَنْ مِصْرِهِمْ ،
وَحالَفُوا الْبَعيدَ مِمَّنْ عاضَدَهُمْ عَلى أَمْرِهِمْ ،
وَخالَفُوا الْقَريبَ مِمَّنْ صَدَّ عَنْ وِجْهَتِهِمْ ،
وَائْتَلَفُوا بَعْدَ التَّدابُرِ وَالتَّقاطُعِ في دَهْرِهِمْ ،
وَقَطَعُوا الْأَسْبابَ الْمُتَّصِلَةَ بِعاجِلِ حُطامٍ مِنَ الدُّنْيا .

O’ Allah, those who are his partners in his case, his supporters in Your obedience, those whom You have regarded his fort, his arms, his shelter and the source of his relief, those who disconnected themselves from their relatives and sons, and left their nations, who have forsaken their beds of relaxation, set aside their trade, faced loss in their sustenance, who went into solitude even before exiting their cities, who joined hands with all those who supported them in their cause, though they were not closely related to each other, and they opposed those near and dear ones who were obstacles in their motives, they came together after their differences and separations forsaking all the worldly means of pleasure.

فَاجْعَلْهُمُ اللَّهُمَّ في حِرْزِكَ وَفي ظِلِّ كَنَفِكَ ،
وَرُدَّ عَنْهُمْ بَأْسَ مَنْ قَصَدَ إِلَيْهِمْ بِالْعَداوَةِ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ ،
وَأَجْزِلْ لَهُمْ مِنْ دَعْوَتِكَ مِنْ كِفايَتِكَ وَمَعُونَتِكَ لَهُمْ ،
وَتَأْييدِكَ وَنَصْرِكَ إِيَّاهُمْ ،
ما تُعينُهُمْ بِهِ عَلى طاعَتِكَ ،
وَأَزْهِقْ بِحَقِّهِمْ باطِلَ مَنْ أَرادَ إِطْفاءَ نُورِكَ ،
وَصَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ .

Thus, O’ Allah, place them in Your protection and under the shadow of Your support, and repel the evil of all those who intend any evil against them, and increase Your sufficiency and support and approval and aid for them, which will help them in Your obedience, and through their righteousness extinguish the evil of all those who wish to put off Your light, and bless Mohammad and his household.

وَامْلَأْ بِهِمْ كُلَّ اُفُقٍ مِنَ الْآفاقِ ،
وَقُطْرٍ مِنَ الْأَقْطارِ قِسْطاً وَعَدْلاً وَرَحْمَةً وَفَضْلاً ،
وَاشْكُرْ لَهُمْ عَلى حَسَبِ كَرَمِكَ وَجُودِكَ ،
وَما مَنَنْتَ بِهِ عَلَى الْقائِمينَ بِالْقِسْطِ مِنْ عِبادِكَ ،
وَاذْخَرْ لَهُمْ مِنْ ثَوابِكَ ما تَرْفَعُ لَهُمْ بِهِ الدَّرَجاتِ ،
إِنَّكَ تَفْعَلُ ما تَشاءُ وَتَحْكُمُ ما تُريدُ ،
آمينَ رَبَّ الْعالَمينَ .

And fill all the horizons of the world with justice, equality, mercy and grace by their means.
And thank them as per Your grace and generosity, like You have gratified those who are the establishers of justice from Your slaves, and store such reward for them which may elevate their grades, indeed You act as per Your will and order as per Your decision.
Amen, O’ Lord of the worlds.

The honorable Sayyid Razi ud Deen, Ali bin Taoos, states: This narration comprises of a section of supplication which was not included in the supplication mentioned in the pervious narration. Thus, if you wish to be amongst the prosperous ones, recite this supplication. And in this supplication, protect the sanctity of Allah and observe complete moral ethics in His threshold.[2]
Kaf’ami (R.A.) writes in his book ‘Al Misbah’ that: Yunus bin Abdur Rahman narrates from Imam Reza (A.S.) that his holiness regularly recommended the recitation of supplication for the Master of Time (A.S.) along with the recitation of this supplication: «أللّهمّ ادفع عن وليّك وخليفتك ...» ‘O Allah, defend Your Guardian and Vicegerent…’ he continued the supplication as per the aforementioned narration, until the line«وهو علينا كبير», then narrated the following section:
