O Allah, I begin the glorification of You with praising You

all¡humma inn¢ aftati¦u alththan¡'a bi¦amdika

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي افْتَتِحُ ٱلثَّنَاءَ بِحَمْدِكَ

and You always guide us to the right out of Your favors upon us.

wa anta musaddidun lill¥¥aw¡bi bimannika

وَانْتَ مُسَدِّدٌ لِلصَّوَابِ بِمَنِّكَ

I am certain that You are the most Merciful of all those who show mercy

wa ayqantu annaka anta ar¦amu alrr¡¦im¢na

وَايْقَنْتُ انَّكَ انْتَ ارْحَمُ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ

in situations of pardon and mercy,

f¢ maw¤i`i al`afwi wallrra¦mati

فِي مَوْضِعِ ٱلْعَفْوِ وَٱلرَّحْمَةِ

the harshest in punishments

wa ashaddu almu`¡qib¢na

وَاشَدُّ ٱلْمُعَاقِبِينَ

in situations of giving exemplary punishment and chastisement (to the wrongdoers),

f¢ maw¤i`i alnnak¡li walnnaqimati

فِي مَوْضِعِ ٱلنَّكَالِ وَٱلنِّقِمَةِ

and the greatest Omnipotent

wa a`¨amu almutajabbir¢na

وَاعْظَمُ ٱلْمُتَجَبِّرِينَ

in the domain of absolute power and might.

f¢ maw¤i`i alkibriy¡'i wal`a¨amati

فِي مَوْضِعِ ٱلْكِبْرِيَاءِ وَٱلْعَظَمَةِ

O Allah, You have permitted me to pray and beseech You.

all¡humma adhinta l¢ f¢ du`¡'ika wa mas'alatika

اَللَّهُمَّ اذِنْتَ لِي فِي دُعَائِكَ وَمَسْالَتِكَ

So, listen, O All-hearer, to my words of praise,

fasma` y¡ sam¢`u mid¦at¢

فَٱسْمَعْ يَا سَمِيعُ مِدْحَتِي

reply my prayer, O All-merciful,

wa ajib y¡ ra¦¢mu da`wat¢

وَاجِبْ يَا رَحِيمُ دَعْوَتِي

and overlook my slips, O Oft-Forgiving.

wa aqil y¡ ghaf£ru `athrat¢

وَاقِلْ يَا غَفُورُ عَثْرَتِي

You, O my God, have relieved so many of my grievances,

fakam y¡ il¡h¢ min kurbatin qad farrajtah¡

فَكَمْ يَا إِلٰهِي مِنْ كُرْبَةٍ قَدْ فَرَّجْتَهَا

dispelled so many of my sorrows,

wa hum£min qad kashaftah¡

وَهُمُومٍ قَدْ كَشَفْتَهَا

overlooked so many of my slips,

wa `athratin qad aqaltah¡

وَعَثْرَةٍ قَدْ اقَلْتَهَا

spread over me many of Your mercies,

wa ra¦matin qad nashartah¡

وَرَحْمَةٍ قَدْ نَشَرْتَهَا

and unlocked so many rings of misfortunes (in which I was detained).

wa ¦alaqati bal¡'in qad fakaktah¡

وَحَلْقَةِ بَلاءٍ قَدْ فَكَكْتَهَا

All praise be to Allah Who has not betaken wife or son,

al¦amdu lill¡hi alladh¢ lam yattakhidh ¥¡¦ibatan wa l¡ waladan

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ صَاحِبَةً وَلاَ وَلَداً

Who has no partner in the sovereignty

wa lam yakun lah£ shar¢kun f¢ almulki

وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ شَرِيكٌ فِي ٱلْمُلْكِ

nor does He have any protecting friend through dependence.

wa lam yakun lah£ waliyyun min aldhdhulli

وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ وَلِيٌّ مِنَ ٱلذُّلِّ

And Magnify Him with all magnificence.

wa kabbirhu takb¢ran

وَكَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيراً

All praise be to Allah with full gratitude

al¦amdu lill¡hi bijam¢`i ma¦¡midih¢ kullih¡

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ بِجَمِيعِ مَحَامِدِهِ كُلِّهَا

for all His bounties.

`al¡ jam¢`i ni`amih¢ kullih¡

عَلَىٰ جَمِيعِ نِعَمِهِ كُلِّهَا

All praise be to Allah Who has no opposition in His rule

al¦amdu lill¡hi alladh¢ l¡ mu¤¡dda lah£ f¢ mulkih¢

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لاَ مُضَادَّ لَهُ فِي مُلْكِهِ

nor there is any challenge to His commands.

wa l¡ mun¡zi`a lah£ f¢ amrih¢

وَلاَ مُنَازِعَ لَهُ فِي امْرِهِ

All praise be to Allah Who has no counsel to meddle with His operation of creation

al¦amdu lill¡hi alladh¢ l¡ shar¢ka lah£ f¢ khalqih¢

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ فِي خَلْقِهِ

nor there is anything similar to Him in His greatness.

wa l¡ shab¢ha lah£ f¢ `a¨amatih¢

وَلاَ شَبِيهَ لَهُ فِي عَظَمَتِهِ

All praise be to Allah Whose commandments and praise are active in the creation,

al¦amdu lill¡hi alfash¢ f¢ alkhalqi amruh£ wa ¦amduh£

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلْفَاشِي فِي ٱلْخَلْقِ امْرُهُ وَحَمْدُهُ

His glory is evident through His kindness,

al¨¨¡hiri bilkarami majduh£

ٱلظَّاهِرِ بِٱلْكَرَمِ مَجْدُهُ

His distinct overflowing generosity is freely available,

alb¡si§i bilj£di yadah£

ٱلْبَاسِطِ بِٱلْجُودِ يَدَهُ

His unlimited bestowals do not exhaust,

alladh¢ l¡ tanqu¥u khaz¡'inuh£

ٱلَّذِي لاَ تَنْقُصُ خَزَائِنُهُ

and Whose opulent bestowals increase Him nothing but magnanimity and generosity.

wa l¡ taz¢duh£ kathratu al`a§¡'i ill¡ j£dan wa karaman

وَلاَ تَزِيدُهُ كَثْرَةُ ٱلْعَطَاءِ إِلاَّ جُوداً وَكَرَماً

Verily He is Mighty, Abundantly Giver.

innah£ huwa al`az¢zu alwahh¡bu

إِنَّهُ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْوَهَّابُ

O Allah, I beseech You for little from the much,

all¡humma inn¢ as'aluka qal¢lan min kath¢rin

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي اسْالُكَ قَلِيلاً مِنْ كَثِيرٍ

along with my great need for it

ma`a ¦¡jatin b¢ ilayhi `a¨¢matun

مَعَ حَاجَةٍ بِي إِلَيْهِ عَظِيمَةٍ

and Your needlessness for it is since eternity.

wa ghin¡ka `anhu qad¢mun

وَغِنَاكَ عَنْهُ قَدِيمٌ

For me, it is so big

wa huwa `ind¢ kath¢run

وَهُوَ عِنْدِي كَثِيرٌ

but for You, it is effortless and easy.

wa huwa `alayka sahlun yas¢run

وَهُوَ عَلَيْكَ سَهْلٌ يَسِيرٌ

O Allah, as You pardon my sins,

all¡humma inna `afwaka `an dhanb¢

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ عَفْوَكَ عَنْ ذَنْبِي

overlook my mistakes,

wa taj¡wuzaka `an kha§¢'at¢

وَتَجَاوُزَكَ عَنْ خَطِيئَتِي

take a lenient view of my disorderly conduct,

wa ¥af¦aka `an ¨ulm¢

وَصَفْحَكَ عَنْ ظُلْمِي

cover up my hideous actions,

wa sitraka `al¡ qab¢¦i `amal¢

وَسِتْرَكَ عَلَىٰ قَبِيحِ عَمَلِي

and treat my numerous offenses with forbearance,

wa ¦ilmaka `an kath¢ri jurm¢

وَحِلْمَكَ عَنْ كَثِيرِ جُرْمِي

which I have committed mistakenly and willfully—

`inda m¡ k¡na min kha§a'¢ wa `amd¢

عِنْدَ مَا كَانَ مِنْ خَطَإِي وَعَمْدِي

all that tempted me to ask for that which I do not deserve from You,

a§ma`an¢ f¢ an as'alaka m¡ l¡ astawjibuh£ minka

 اطْمَعَنِي فِي انْ اسْالَكَ مَا لاَ اسْتَوْجِبُهُ مِنْكَ

that is You may grant me part of Your mercy,

alladh¢ razaqtan¢ min ra¦matika

ٱلَّذِي رَزَقْتَنِي مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ

show me part of Your all-powerfulness,

wa araytan¢ min qudratika

وَارَيْتَنِي مِنْ قُدْرَتِكَ

and show me signals of Your response to me.

wa `arraftan¢ min ij¡batika

وَعَرَّفْتَنِي مِنْ إِجَابَتِكَ

So, I am now supplicating You with security

fa¥irtun ad`£ka ¡minan

فَصِرْتُ ادْعُوكَ آمِناً

and beseeching You with entertainment

wa as'aluka musta'nisan

وَاسْالُكَ مُسْتَانِساً

neither afraid nor fearful,

l¡ kh¡'ifan wa l¡ wajilan

لاَ خَائِفاً وَلاَ وَجِلاً

insisting on You in that which I face to You.

mudillan `alayka f¢ m¡ qa¥adtu f¢hi ilayka

مُدِلاًّ عَلَيْكَ فِيمَا قَصَدْتُ فِيهِ إِلَيْكَ

But when Your response delayed, I, out of my ignorance, would blame You

fa'in ab§a'a `ann¢ `atabtu bijahl¢ `alayka

فَإِنْ ابْطَا عَنِّي عَتَبْتُ بِجَهْلِي عَلَيْكَ

although perhaps slowing down may be a blessing in disguise,

wa la`alla alladh¢ ab§a'a `ann¢ huwa khayrun l¢

وَلَعَلَّ ٱلَّذِي ابْطَا عَنِّي هُوَ خَيْرٌ لِي

because You alone know the consequences of all matters.

li`ilmika bi`¡qibati al-um£ri

لِعِلْمِكَ بِعَاقِبَةِ ٱلامُورِ

So, I have never seen such a noble Master

falam ara mawlan kar¢man

فَلَمْ ارَ مَوْلَىً كَرِيماً

more accommodating to such a dissatisfied servant than You are to me.

a¥bara `al¡ `abdin la'¢min minka `alayya

اصْبَرَ عَلَىٰ عَبْدٍ لَئِيمٍ مِنْكَ عَلَيَّ

O Lord! You give an invitation but I turn down,

y¡ rabbi innaka tad`£n¢ fa'uwalliya `anka

يَا رَبِّ إِنَّكَ تَدْعُونِي فَاوَلِّي عَنْكَ

You become familiar with me but I do not care for You,

wa tata¦abbabu ilayya fa'atabaghgha¤u ilayka

وَتَتَحَبَّبُ إِلَيَّ فَاتَبَغَّضُ إِلَيْكَ

and You show affection to me but I do not correspond to You,

wa tatawaddadu ilayya fal¡ aqbalu minka

وَتَتَوَدَّدُ إِلَيَّ فَلاَ اقْبَلُ مِنْكَ

as if You are overreaching me!

ka'anna liya altta§awwula `alayka

كَانَّ لِيَ ٱلتَّطَوُّلَ عَلَيْكَ

Yet, all that have not stopped You from having mercy upon me,

falam yamna`ka dh¡lika min alrra¦mati l¢

فَلَمْ يَمْنَعْكَ ذٰلِكَ مِنَ ٱلرَّحْمَةِ لِي

doing favors to me,

wal-i¦s¡ni ilayya

وَٱلإِحْسَانِ إِلَيَّ

and blessing me out of Your magnanimity and generosity.

walttafa¤¤uli `alayya bij£dika wa karamika

وَٱلتَّفَضُّلِ عَلَيَّ بِجُودِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ

So, (please) have mercy on Your ignorant servant

far¦am `abdaka alj¡hila

فَٱرْحَمْ عَبْدَكَ ٱلْجَاهِلَ

and bestow upon him with the favors of Your beneficence.

wajud `alayhi bifa¤li i¦s¡nika

وَجُدْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَضْلِ إِحْسَانِكَ

Verily, You are All-magnanimous and All-generous.

innaka jaw¡dun kar¢mun

 إِنَّكَ جَوَادٌ كَرِيمٌ

All praise be to Allah: the Lord of the sovereignty,

al¦amdu lill¡hi m¡liki almulki

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ مَالِكِ ٱلْمُلْكِ

Who allows arks to flow [on seas],

mujr¢ alfulki

مُجْرِي ٱلْفُلْكِ

Who controls the winds,

musakhkhiri alrriy¡¦i

مُسَخِّرِ ٱلرِّيَاحِ

Who causes the day to break,

f¡liqi al-i¥b¡¦i

فَالِقِ ٱلإِصْبَاحِ

Who administers the authority,

dayy¡ni aldd¢ni

دَيَّانِ ٱلدِّينِ

and Who is the Lord of the worlds.

rabbi al`¡lam¢na

رَبِّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

All praise be to Allah for His indulgence although He has full acquaintance with all things.

al¦amdu lill¡hi `al¡ ¦ilmih¢ ba`da `ilmih¢

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَىٰ حِلْمِهِ بَعْدَ عِلْمِهِ

All praise be to Allah for His amnesty although He has full power over all things.

wal¦amdu lill¡hi `al¡ `afwih¢ ba`da qudratih¢

وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَىٰ عَفْوِهِ بَعْدَ قُدْرَتِهِ

All praise be to Allah for the respite that He allows in spite of provocation.

wal¦amdu lill¡hi `al¡ §£li an¡tih¢ f¢ gha¤abih¢

وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَىٰ طُولِ انَاتِهِ فِي غَضَبِهِ

He is able to do whatever He wills.

wa huwa q¡dirn `al¡ m¡ yur¢du

وَهُوَ قَادِرٌ عَلَىٰ مَا يُرِيدُ

All praise be to Allah, the Creator of all created beings,

al¦amdu lill¡hi kh¡liqi alkhalqi

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ خَالِقِ ٱلْخَلْقِ

Who makes sustenance freely available,

b¡si§i alrrizqi

بَاسِطِ ٱلرِّزْقِ

Who starts the day,

f¡liqi al-i¥b¡¦i

فَالِقِ ٱلإِصْبَاحِ

Who is the Owner of glory, might,

dh¢ aljal¡li wal-ikr¡mi

ذِي ٱلْجَلالِ وَٱلإِكْرَامِ

favors and bounties;

walfa¤li wal-in`¡mi

وَٱلْفَضْلِ وَٱلإِنْعَامِ

and Who is so far away that none can ever see Him

alladh¢ ba`uda fal¡ yur¡

ٱلَّذِي بَعُدَ فَلاَ يُرَىٰ

and, in the same time, He is so nigh that He is fully aware of even the whispering secrets.

wa qaruba fashahida alnnajw¡

وَقَرُبَ فَشَهِدَ النَّجْوَىٰ

Blessed and Exalted be He.

tab¡raka wa ta`¡l¡

تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَىٰ

All praise be to Allah Who has no equal to challenge Him,

al¦amdu lill¡hi alladh¢ laysa lah£ mun¡zi`un yu`¡diluh£

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لَيْسَ لَهُ مُنَازِعٌ يُعَادِلُهُ

nor is there an image comparable to Him,

wa l¡ shab¢hun yush¡kiluh£

وَلاَ شَبِيهٌ يُشَاكِلُهُ

nor is there a helper to assist Him.

wa l¡ ¨ah¢run yu`¡¤iduh£

وَلاَ ظَهِيرٌ يُعَاضِدُهُ

He tames the powerful by His force,

qahara bi`izzatih¢ al-a`izz¡'a

قَهَرَ بِعِزَّتِهِ ٱلاعِزَّاءَ

and disgraced are the great ones before His Greatness.

wa taw¡¤a`¡ li`a¨amatih¢ al`u¨am¡'u

وَتَوَاضَعَ لِعَظَمَتِهِ ٱلْعُظَمَاءُ

So, He, through His power, fulfills that which He wills.

fabalagha biqudratih¢ m¡ yash¡'u

فَبَلَغَ بِقُدْرَتِهِ مَا يَشَاءُ

All praise be to Allah Who gives answer to me whenever I call Him,

al¦amdu lill¡hi alladh¢ yuj¢bun¢ ¦¢na un¡d¢hi

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي يُجِيبُنِي حِينَ انَادِيهِ

covers up my shortcomings, yet I disobey Him,

wa yasturu `alayya kulla `awratin wa ana a`¥¢hi

وَيَسْتُرُ عَلَيَّ كُلَّ عَوْرَةٍ وَانَا اعْصِيهِ

and gives me the largest part of bounties, yet I do not show him gratitude.

wa yu`a¨¨imu alnni`mata `alayya fal¡ uj¡z¢hi

وَيُعَظِّمُ ٱلنِّعْمَةَ عَلَيَّ فَلاَ اجَازِيهِ

Many an auspicious favor had He given me,

fakam min mawhibatin han¢'atin qad a`§¡n¢

فَكَمْ مِنْ مَوْهِبَةٍ هَنِيئَةٍ قَدْ اعْطَانِي

many a terrible danger had He turned off,

wa `a¨¢matin makh£fatin qad kaf¡n¢

وَعَظِيمَةٍ مَخُوفَةٍ قَدْ كَفَانِي

and many a blossoming joy had He made available for me.

wa bahjatin m£niqatin qad ar¡n¢

وَبَهْجَةٍ مُونِقَةٍ قَدْ ارَانِي

Therefore, I praise Him with thankfulness

fa uthn¢ `alayhi ¦¡midan

فَاثْنِي عَلَيْهِ حَامِداً

and mention Him with exaltation.

wa adhkuruh£ musabbi¦an

وَاذْكُرُهُ مُسَبِّحاً

All praise be to Allah Whose screen cannot be penetrated,

al¦amdu lill¡hi alladh¢ l¡ yuhtaku ¦ij¡buh£

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لاَ يُهْتَكُ حِجَابُهُ

Whose door is not blocked,

wa l¡ yughlaqu b¡buh£

وَلاَ يُغْلَقُ بَابُهُ

Whose beseecher is not rejected,

wa l¡ yuraddu s¡'iluh£

وَلاَ يُرَدُّ سَائِلُهُ

and one who hopes Him is not disappointed.

wa l¡ yukhayyabu ¡miluh£

وَلاَ يُخَيَّبُ آمِلُهُ

All praise be to Allah Who secures the frightened ones,

al¦amdu lill¡hi alladh¢ yu'minu alkh¡'if¢na

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي يُؤْمِنُ ٱلْخَائِفِينَ

comes to the help of the upright ones,

wa yunajj¢ al¥¥¡li¦¢na

وَيُنَجِّي ٱلصَّالِحِينَ

promotes the cause of the weak ones,

wa yarfa`u almusta¤`af¢na

وَيَرْفَعُ ٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ

annihilates the autocrats,

wa ya¤a`u almustakbir¢na

وَيَضَعُ ٱلْمُسْتَكْبِرِينَ

destroys rulers, and appoints others instead.

wa yuhliku mul£kan wa yastakhlifu ¡khar¢na

وَيُهْلِكُ مُلُوكاً وَيَسْتَخْلِفُ آخَرِينَ

All praise be to Allah; the Eradicator of the tyrants,

wal¦amdu lill¡hi q¡¥imi aljabb¡r¢na

وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ قَاصِمِ ٱلْجَبَّارِينَ

the Terminator of the unjust ones,

mub¢ri al¨¨¡lim¢na

مُبِيرِ ٱلظَّالِمِينَ

the Catcher of the fugitives,

mudriki alh¡rib¢na

مُدْرِكِ ٱلْهَارِبِينَ

the Punisher of the unjust ones,

nak¡li al¨¨¡lim¢na

نَكَالِ ٱلظَّالِمِينَ

the Aide of the aid-seekers,

¥ar¢khi almusta¥rikh¢na

صَرِيخِ ٱلْمُسْتَصْرِخِينَ

the Settler of the needs of the beseechers,

maw¤i`i ¦¡j¡ti al§§¡lib¢na

مَوْضِعِ حَاجَاتِ ٱلطَّالِبِينَ

and the support of the faithful believers.

mu`tamadi almu'min¢na

مُعْتَمَدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

All praise be to Allah! In His awe-inspiring fear the heavens and its dwellers tremble and shiver,

al¦amdu lill¡hi alladh¢ min khashyatih¢ tar`udu alssam¡'u wa sukk¡nuh¡

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي مِنْ خَشْيَتِهِ تَرْعُدُ ٱلسَّمَاءُ وَسُكَّانُهَا

the earth and its inhabitants shake and quiver,

wa tarjufu al-ar¤u wa `umm¡ruh¡

وَتَرْجُفُ ٱلارْضُ وَعُمَّارُهَا

and the oceans and all that which float and swim in their waters flow together in excitement and tumult.

wa tam£ju albi¦¡ru wa man yasba¦u f¢ ghamar¡tih¡

وَتَمُوجُ ٱلْبِحَارُ وَمَنْ يَسْبَحُ فِي غَمَرَاتِهَا

All praise be to Allah Who has guided us to this.

al¦amdu lill¡hi alladh¢ had¡n¡ lih¡dh¡

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي هَدَانَا لِهٰذَا

We could not truly have been led aright if Allah had not guided us.

wa m¡ kunn¡ linahtadiya lawl¡ an had¡n¡ all¡hu

وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِيَ لَوْلاَ انْ هَدَانَا ٱللَّهُ

All praise be to Allah Who creates but He is not created,

al¦amdu lill¡hi alladh¢ yakhluqu wa lam yukhlaq

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي يَخْلُقُ وَلَمْ يُخْلَقْ

gives subsistence but He needs no provisions,

wa yarzuqu wa l¡ yurzaqu

وَيَرْزُقُ وَلاَ يُرْزَقُ

feeds but He takes no nourishment,

wa yu§`imu wa l¡ yu§`amu

وَيُطْعِمُ وَلاَ يُطْعَمُ

causes the living to die,

wa yum¢tu al-a¦y¡'a

وَيُمِيتُ ٱلاحْيَاءَ

and brings the dead to life,

wa yu¦y¢ almawt¡

وَيُحْيِي ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ

but He is the Ever-living Who never dies.

wa huwa ¦ayyun l¡ yam£tu

وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لاَ يَمُوتُ

In His hands is all the good

biyadih¢ alkhayru

بِيَدِهِ ٱلْخَيْرُ

and He is able to do all things.

wa huwa `al¡ kulli shay`in qad¢run

وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

O Allah, (please do) send blessings to Mu¦ammad; Your servant, Messenger,

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin `abdika wa ras£lika

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُولِكَ

confidant, friend, beloved intimate,

wa am¢nika wa ¥afiyyika wa ¦ab¢bika

وَامِينِكَ وَصَفِيِّكَ وَحَبِيبِكَ

the choicest of Your created beings,

wa khiyaratika min khalqika

وَخِيَرَتِكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

the bearer of Your sacraments,

wa ¦¡fi¨i sirrika

وَحَافِظِ سِرِّكَ

and the conveyor of Your messages,

wa muballighi ris¡l¡tika

وَمُبَلِّغِ رِسَالاَتِكَ

with the most superior, the most exquisite, the most handsomer,

af¤ala wa a¦sana wa ajmala

افْضَلَ وَاحْسَنَ وَاجْمَلَ

the most perfect, the most upright, the most prospering,

wa akmala wa azk¡ wa anm¡

وَاكْمَلَ وَازْكَىٰ وَانْمَىٰ

the most pleasant, the most thoroughly purified, the most sublime,

wa a§yaba wa a§hara wa asn¡

وَاطْيَبَ وَاطْهَرَ وَاسْنَىٰ

the most and the best blessings, advantages,

wa akthara m¡ ¥allayta wa b¡rakta

وَاكْثَرَ مَا صَلَّيْتَ وَبَارَكْتَ

mercies, affections,

wa tara¦¦amta wa ta¦annanta

وَتَرَحَّمْتَ وَتَحَنَّنْتَ

and salutations that You have ever bestowed upon anyone of Your servants, Prophets,

wa sallamta `al¡ a¦adin min `ib¡dika wa anbiy¡'ika

وَسَلَّمْتَ عَلَىٰ احَدٍ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ وَانْبِيَائِكَ

Messengers, choicest people,

wa rusulika wa ¥afwatika

وَرُسُلِكَ وَصِفْوَتِكَ

and those honored by You from among Your created beings.

wa ahli alkar¡mati `alayka min khalqika

وَاهْلِ ٱلْكَرَامَةِ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

O Allah, (please do) send blessings to `Al¢; the Commander of the Believers,

all¡humma wa ¥alli `al¡ `aliyyin am¢ri almu'min¢na

اَللَّهُمَّ وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ عَلِيٍّ امِيرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

the successor of the Messenger of the Lord of the worlds,

wa wa¥iyyi ras£li rabbi al`¡lam¢na

وَوَصِيِّ رَسُولِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

Your servant, Your beloved representative, the brother of Your Messenger,

`abdika wa waliyyika wa akh¢ ras£lika

عَبْدِكَ وَوَلِيِّكَ وَاخِي رَسُولِكَ

Your decisive argument over the mankind,

wa ¦ujjatika `al¡ khalqika

وَحُجَّتِكَ عَلَىٰ خَلْقِكَ

Your most important sign,

wa ¡yatika alkubr¡

وَآيَتِكَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ

and the great news (from You).

walnnaba'i al`a¨¢mi

وَٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

(Please do) send blessings to the truthful and pure Lady,

wa ¥alli `al¡ al¥¥idd¢qati al§§¡hirati

وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ ٱلصِّدِّيقَةِ ٱلطَّاهِرَةِ

F¡§imah; the Doyenne of the women of the world.

f¡§imata sayyidati nis¡'i al`¡lam¢na

فَاطِمَةَ سَيِّدَةِ نِسَاءِ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

(Please do) send blessings to the sons of ‘the mercy to the worlds’

wa ¥alli `al¡ sib§ay alrra¦mati

وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ سِبْطَيِ ٱلرَّحْمَةِ

and the two leaders of true guidance;

wa im¡may alhud¡

وَإِمَامَيِ ٱلْهُدَىٰ

al-°asan and al-°usayn,

al¦asani wal¦usayni

ٱلْحَسَنِ وَٱلْحُسَيْنِ

the two Chiefs of the dwellers of Paradise.

sayyiday shab¡bi ahli aljannati

سَيِّدَيْ شَبَابِ اهْلِ ٱلْجَنَّةِ

(Please do) send blessings to the leaders of the Muslims;

wa ¥alli `al¡ a'immati almuslim¢na

وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ ائِمَّةِ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ

`Al¢ bin al-°usayn,

`aliyyi ibni al¦usayni

عَلِيِّ بْنِ ٱلْحُسَيْنِ

Mu¦ammad bin `Al¢,

wa mu¦ammadi ibni `aliyyin

وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ

Ja`far bin Mu¦ammad,

wa ja`fari ibni mu¦ammadin

وَجَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ

M£s¡ bin Ja`far,

wa m£s¡ ibni ja`farin

وَمُوسَىٰ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ

`Al¢ bin M£s¡,

wa `aliyyi ibni m£s¡

وَعَلِيِّ بْنِ مُوسَىٰ

Mu¦ammad bin `Al¢,

wa mu¦ammadi ibni `aliyyin

وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ

`Al¢ bin Mu¦ammad,

wa `aliyyi ibni mu¦ammadin

وَعَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ

al-°asan bin `Al¢,

wal¦asani ibni `aliyyin

وَٱلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ

and the successor, the guide, and the rightly guided:

walkhalafi alh¡d¢ almahdiyyi

وَٱلْخَلَفِ ٱلْهَادِي ٱلْمَهْدِيِّ

(Those Imams are) Your decisive arguments over Your servants

¦ujajika `al¡ `ib¡dika

حُجَجِكَ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِكَ

and Your trustworthy confidants in Your lands

wa uman¡'ika f¢ bil¡dika

وَامَنَائِكَ فِي بِلادِكَ

with blessings that are numerous and non-stop.

¥al¡tan kath¢ratan d¡'imatan

صَلاةً كَثِيرَةً دَائِمَةً

O Allah, (please do) send blessings to the custodian of Your commandments,

all¡humma wa ¥alli `al¡ waliyyi amrika

اَللَّهُمَّ وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ وَليِّ امْرِكَ

the vigilant guardian, the reliable patron,

alq¡'imi almu'ammali

ٱلْقَائِمِ ٱلْمُؤَمَّلِ

and the awaited establisher of justice.

wal`adli almunta¨ari

وَٱلْعَدْلِ ٱلْمُنْتَظَرِ

And (please) surround him with Your favorite angels

wa ¦uffah£ bimal¡'ikatika almuqarrab¢na

وَحُفَّهُ بِمَلائِكَتِكَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ

and assist him with the Holy Spirit.

wa ayyid-hu bir£¦i alqudusi

وَايِّدْهُ بِرُوحِ ٱلْقُدُسِ

O Lord of the worlds!

y¡ rabba al`¡lam¢na

يَا رَبَّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

O Allah, (please) choose him to be the caller to Your Book

all¡humma ij`alhu aldd¡`iya il¡ kit¡bika

اَللَّهُمَّ ٱجْعَلْهُ ٱلدَّاعِيَ إِلَىٰ كِتَابِكَ

and the establisher of Your religion;

walq¡'ima bid¢nika

وَٱلْقَائِمَ بِدِينِكَ

make him succeed in the earth

istakhlifhu fil-ar¤i

ٱسْتَخْلِفْهُ فِي ٱلارْضِ

as You caused those who were before him to succeed,

kam¡ istakhlafta alladh¢na min qablih¢

كَمَا ٱسْتَخْلَفْتَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ

establish for him his faith which You have approved for him,

makkin lah£ d¢nah£ alladh¢ irta¤aytah£ lah£

مَكِّنْ لَهُ دِينَهُ ٱلَّذِي ٱرْتَضَيْتَهُ لَهُ

and give him in exchange safety after the fear.

abdilhu min ba`di khawfih¢ amnan

ابْدِلْهُ مِنْ بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِ امْناً

He serves You. He ascribes nothing as partner to You.

ya`buduka y¡ yushriku bika shay'an

يَعْبُدُكَ لاَ يُشْرِكُ بِكَ شَيْئاً

O Allah, (please) grant him power, make him the source of power,

all¡humma a`izzah£ wa a`ziz bih¢

اَللَّهُمَّ اعِزَّهُ وَاعْزِزْ بِهِ

grant him support, make him the means of Your victory,

wan¥urhu wanta¥ir bih¢

وَٱنْصُرْهُ وَٱنْتَصِرْ بِهِ

help him with a mighty help,

wan¥urhu na¥ran `az¢zan

وَٱنْصُرْهُ نَصْراً عَزِيزاً

make him prevail over all with easiness,

wafta¦ lah£ fat¦an yas¢ran

وَٱفْتَحْ لَهُ فَتْحاً يَسِيراً

and delegate him Your controlling authority.

waj`al lah£ min ladunka sul§¡nan na¥¢ran

وَٱجْعَلْ لَهُ مِنْ لَدُنْكَ سُلْطَاناً نَصِيراً

O Allah, (please) make prevalent Your religion and the norms of Your Prophet through him

all¡humma a¨hir bih¢ d¢naka wa sunnata nabiyyika

اَللَّهُمَّ اظْهِرْ بِهِ دِينَكَ وَسُنَّةَ نَبِيِّكَ

so that he will not have to hide any item of truth

¦att¡ l¡ yastakhfiya bishay'in min al¦aqqi

حَتَّىٰ لاَ يَسْتَخْفِيَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ

for fear of any of the creatures.

makh¡fata a¦adin min alkhalqi

مَخَافَةَ احَدٍ مِنَ ٱلْخَلْقِ

O Allah, we ardently desire that You confer upon us a respectful government

all¡humma inn¡ narghabu ilayka f¢ dawlatin kar¢matin

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَرْغَبُ إِلَيْكَ فِي دَوْلَةٍ كَرِيمَةٍ

through which You may give might to Islam and its followers,

tu`izzu bih¡ al-isl¡ma wa ahlah£

تُعِزُّ بِهَا ٱلإِسْلاَمَ وَاهْلَهُ

humiliate hypocrisy and its people,

wa tudhillu bih¡ alnnif¡qa wa ahlah£

وَتُذِلُّ بِهَا ٱلنِّفَاقَ وَاهْلَهُ

and include us among those who invite people to the obedience to You and

wa taj`alun¡ f¢h¡ min alddu`¡ti il¡ §¡`atika

وَتَجْعَلُنَا فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلدُّعَاةِ إِلَىٰ طَاعَتِكَ

and lead them to Your approved path.

walq¡dati il¡ sab¢lika

وَٱلْقَادَةِ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِكَ

Give us the good of this world and the world to come.

wa tarzuqun¡ bih¡ kar¡mata aldduny¡ wal-¡khirati

وَتَرْزُقُنَا بِهَا كَرَامَةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلآخِرَةِ

O Allah, let us bear out that which You make known to us as the truth

all¡humma m¡ `arraftan¡ min al¦aqqi fa¦ammiln¡hu

اَللَّهُمَّ مَا عَرَّفْتَنَا مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ فَحَمِّلْنَاهُ

and let us attain that which we fall short to do.

wa m¡ qa¥urn¡ `anhu faballighn¡hu

وَمَا قَصُرْنَا عَنْهُ فَبَلِّغْنَاهُ

O Allah, through him, set in order our disorder,

all¡humma ilmum bih¢ sha`athan¡

اَللَّهُمَّ ٱلْمُمْ بِه شَعَثَنَا

gather and unite our flock,

wash`ib bih¢ ¥ad`an¡

وَٱشْعَبْ بِهِ صَدْعَنَا

stitch together our ripped open separation,

wartuq bih¢ fatqan¡

وَٱرْتُقْ بِهِ فَتْقَنَا

increase our few numbers,

wa kaththir bih¢ qillatan¡

وَكَثِّرْ بِهِ قِلَّتَنَا

lift us up from our degradation,

wa a`ziz bih¢ dhillatan¡

وَاعْزِزْ بِهِ ذِلَّتَنَا

grant wealth to the needy among us,

wa aghni bih¢ `¡'ilan¡

وَاغْنِ بِهِ عَائِلَنَا

pull us out from our debts,

waq¤i bih¢ `an mughramin¡

وَٱقْضِ بِهِ عَنْ مُغْرَمِنَا

set up our poverty,

wajbur bih¢ faqran¡

وَٱجْبُرْ بِهِ فَقْرَنَا

fill the gap of confusion among us,

wa sudda bih¢ khallatan¡

وَسُدَّ بِهِ خَلَّتَنَا

make easy all difficulties we may face,

wa yassir bih¢ `usran¡

وَيَسِّرْ بِهِ عُسْرَنَا

refine our substance and style,

wa bayyi¤ bih¢ wuj£han¡

وَبَيِّضْ بِهِ وُجُوهَنَا

release us from captivity,

wa fukka bih¢ asran¡

وَفُكَّ بِهِ اسْرَنَا

make successful our applications,

wa anji¦ bih¢ §alibatan¡

وَانْجِحْ بِهِ طَلِبَتَنَا

fulfill Your promises to us,

wa anjiz bih¢ maw¡`¢dan¡

وَانْجِزْ بِهِ مَوَاعِيدَنَا

give answer to our prayers,

wastajib bih¢ da`watan¡

وَٱسْتَجِبْ بِهِ دَعْوَتَنَا

respond to our requests,

wa a`§in¡ bih¢ su'lan¡

وَاعْطِنَا بِهِ سُؤْلَنَا

make us attain our hopes in this world as well as the world to come,

wa ballighn¡ bih¢ min aldduny¡ wal-¡khirati ¡m¡lan¡

وَبَلِّغْنَا بِهِ مِنَ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلآخِرَةِ آمَالَنَا

and grant us beyond our wishes.

wa a`§in¡ bih¢ fawqa raghbatin¡

وَاعْطِنَا بِهِ فَوْقَ رَغْبَتِنَا

O Most Favorable of all those whom may be besought

y¡ khayra almas'£l¢na

يَا خَيْرَ ٱلْمَسْؤُولِينَ

and Most magnanimous of all those who may grant requests!

wa awsa`a almu`§¢na

وَاوْسَعَ ٱلْمُعْطِينَ

Through him, heal our breasts,

ishfi bih¢ ¥ud£ran¡

ٱشْفِ بِهِ صُدُورَنَا

remove the rage of our hearts,

wa adhhib bih¢ ghay¨a qul£bin¡

وَاذْهِبْ بِهِ غَيْظَ قُلُوبِنَا

and in the event of dispute in the matter of truth, show us the right path.

wahdin¡ bih¢ lim¡ ukhtulifa f¢hi min al¦aqqi bi'idhnika

وَٱهْدِنَا بِهِ لِمَا ٱخْتُلِفَ فِيهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ بِإِذْنِكَ

Verily, You guide whosoever You will to the Right Path.

innaka tahd¢ man tash¡'u il¡ ¥ir¡§in mustaq¢min

إِنَّكَ تَهْدِي مَنْ تَشَاءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ

Grant us victory over Your and our enemy.

wan¥urn¡ bih¢ `al¡ `aduwwin¡ wa `aduwwika

وَٱنْصُرْنَا بِهِ عَلَىٰ عَدُوِّكَ وَعَدُوِّنَا

O God of Truth, respond to us!

il¡ha al¦aqqi ¡m¢na

إِلٰهَ ٱلْحَقِّ آمِينَ

O Allah, we complain to You

all¡humma inn¡ nashk£ ilayka

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَشْكُو إِلَيْكَ

about the departure of our Prophet, Your blessings be on him and on his Household,

faqda nabiyyin¡ ¥alaw¡tuka `alayhi wa ¡lih¢

فَقْدَ نَبِيِّنَا صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

the absence of our leader,

wa ghaybata waliyyin¡

وَغَيْبَةَ وَلِيِّنَا

the big numbers of our enemies,

wa kathrata `aduwwin¡

وَكَثْرَةَ عَدُوِّنَا

the few number of us,

wa qillata `adadin¡

وَقِلَّةَ عَدَدِنَا

widespread disorder,

wa shiddata alfitani bin¡

وَشِدَّةَ ٱلْفِتَنِ بِنَا

and vicissitudes of time against us.

wa ta¨¡hura alzzam¡ni `alayn¡

وَتَظَاهُرَ ٱلزَّمَانِ عَلَيْنَا

So, (please do) send blessings to Mu¦ammad and his Household

fa¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡lih¢

فَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ

and help us overcome all that through victory from You that You expedite,

wa a`inn¡ `al¡ dh¡lika bifat¦in minka tu`ajjiluh£

وَاعِنَّا عَلَىٰ ذٰلِكَ بِفَتْحٍ مِنْكَ تُعَجِّلُهُ

through relieving us from our injuries,

wa bi¤urrin takshifuh£

وَبِضُرٍّ تَكْشِفُهُ

through Your help that You confirm,

wa na¥rin tu`izzuh£

وَنَصْرٍ تُعِزُّهُ

through bringing in the rule of justice and fair-play,

wa sul§¡ni ¦aqqin tu¨hiruh£

وَسُلْطَانِ حَقٍّ تُظْهِرُهُ

through mercy that You expand over us,

wa ra¦matin minka tujallilun¡h¡

وَرَحْمَةٍ مِنْكَ تُجَلِّلُنَاهَا

and through good health that You cover us with,

wa `¡fiyatin minka tulbisun¡h¡

وَعَافِيَةٍ مِنْكَ تُلْبِسُنَاهَا

in the name of Your mercy, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!

bira¦matika y¡ ar¦¡ma alrr¡¦im¢na

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا ارْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ
