Ziarat of Imam Hussain (as) Specific For Layl latul Qadr & Idd ul Fitr & Idd uzzuha days |
According to Hadith, during Lailat-e-Qadr an angel
proclaims from the Arsh (throne) on the Seventh sky that
Allah has forgiven who have visited the grave of
Imam Hussain (as).
While
performing Ziyarah of Imam Hussain (as), remind yourself
that on this night, the souls of 124,000 Prophets (peace
be upon them all) visit Imam, who is aware of our inner
spiritual reality and is hurt and repulsed by our record
of repeated evil deeds, indifference to God’s
commandments; thus, we should avoid disgracing ourselves
in that great audience of Imam. Also, associate the
themes in the ZIYARAH of: - Firm bond of love and
obedience of God (SALAT). -Economic betterment of
community (ZAKAT). -Overall mobilization of forces
towards virtue (AMR BIL MA`RUF).
-Overall cleansing of evil from society.
-All-out war in all spheres of life to promote
truth (JIHAD). -Tremendous endurance of all ensuing
difficulties (SABR). -Complete distancing (LA`NAH) from
all forms of injustice (DHULM) with destiny- shaping
opportunity of this night and resolve to
|
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ |
alssal¡mu `alayka yabna ras£li all¡hi |
Peace be upon you, O son of Allah’s Messenger. |
|
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ امِيرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
alssal¡mu `alayka yabna am¢ri almu'min¢na |
Peace be upon you, O son of the Commander of the Faithful. |
|
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ ٱلصِّدِّيقَةِ ٱلطَّاهِرَةِ |
alssal¡mu `alayka yabna al¥¥idd¢qati al§§¡hirati |
Peace be upon you, O son of the veracious, immaculate lady |
|
فَاطِمَةَ سَيِّدَةِ نِسَاءِ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ |
sayyidati nis¡'i al`¡lam¢na |
F¡§imah the Doyenne of the women of the world. |
|
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَوْلاَيَ يَا ابَا عَبْدِ ٱللَّهِ |
alssal¡mu `alayka y¡ mawl¡ya y¡ ab¡ `abdill¡hi |
Peace be upon you, O my master Ab£-`Abdull¡h. |
|
وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ |
wa ra¦matu all¡hi wa barak¡tuh£ |
So be upon you Allah’s mercy and blessings. |
|
اشْهَدُ انَّكَ قَدْ اقَمْتَ ٱلصَّلاَةَ |
ashhadu annaka qad aqamta al¥¥al¡ta |
I bear witness that you performed the prayers, |
|
وَآتَيْتَ ٱلزَّكَاةَ |
wa ¡tayta alzzak¡ta |
defrayed the poor-rate, |
|
وَامَرْتَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ |
wa amarta bilma`r£fi |
enjoined the right, |
|
وَنَهَيْتَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنْكَرِ |
wa nahayta `an almunkari |
forbade the wrong, |
|
وَتَلَوْتَ ٱلْكِتَابَ حَقَّ تِلاَوَتِهِ |
wa talawta alkit¡ba ¦aqqa til¡watih¢ |
recited the Book (i.e. the Holy Qur'¡n) as exactly as it should be recited, |
|
وَجَاهَدْتَ فِي ٱللَّهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهِ |
wa j¡hadta f¢ all¡hi ¦aqqa jih¡dih¢ |
strove for the sake of Allah as exactly as striving must be, |
|
وَصَبَرْتَ عَلَىٰ ٱلاذَىٰ فِي جَنْبِهِ مُحْتَسِباً حَتَّىٰ اتَاكَ ٱلْيَقِينُ |
wa ¥abarta `al¡ al-adh¡ f¢ janbih¢ mu¦tasiban ¦att¡ at¡ka alyaq¢nu |
and faced all troubles steadfastly for His sake, seeking his reward, until death came upon you. |
|
اشْهَدُ انَّ ٱلَّذِينَ خَالَفُوكَ وَحَارَبُوكَ |
wa ashhadu anna alladh¢na kh¡laf£ka wa ¦¡rab£ka |
I also bear witness that those who dissented you, those who fought against you, |
|
وَٱلَّذِينَ خَذَلُوكَ وَٱلَّذِينَ قَتَلُوكَ |
wa anna alladh¢na khadhal£ka walladh¢na qatal£ka |
those who let you down, and those who slew you |
|
مَلْعُونُونَ عَلَىٰ لِسَانِ ٱلنَّبِيِّ ٱلامِّيِّ |
mal`£n£na `al¡ lis¡ni alnnabiyyi al-ummiyyi |
(all those) were accursed directly by the Meccan Prophet. |
|
وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ |
wa qad kh¡ba man iftar¡ |
And he who forges lies indeed fails to attain his desire. |
|
لَعَنَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلظَّالِمِينَ لَكُمْ مِنَ ٱلاوَّلِينَ وَٱلآخِرِينَ |
la`ana all¡hu al¨¨¡lim¢na lakum min al-awwal¢na wal-¡khir¢na |
May Allah curse those who wronged you from amongst the past and the present generations. |
|
وَضَاعَفَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلالِيمَ |
wa ¤¡`afa `alayhim al`adh¡ba al-al¢ma |
May Allah also double for them the painful torment. |
|
اتَيْتُكَ يَا مَوْلايَ يَا بْنَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ |
ataytuka y¡ mawl¡ya yabna ras£li all¡hi |
O my master and son of Allah’s Messenger, I have come to you |
|
زَائِراً عَارِفاً بِحَقِّكَ |
z¡'iran `¡rifan bi¦aqqika |
visiting you, acknowledging the standing that you enjoy, |
|
مُوَالِياً لاِوْلِيَائِكَ |
muw¡liyan li'awliy¡'ika |
declaring my loyalty to those who are loyal to you, |
|
مُعَادِياً لاِعْدَائِكَ |
mu`¡diyan li'a`d¡'ika |
renouncing your enemies, |
|
مُسْتَبْصِراً بِٱلْهُدَىٰ ٱلَّذِي انْتَ عَلَيْهِ |
mustab¥iran bilhud¡ alladh¢ anta `alayhi |
seeking to follow the true guidance that you are following, |
|
عَارِفاً بِضَلاَلَةِ مَنْ خَالَفَكَ |
`¡rifan bi¤al¡lati man kh¡lafaka |
and recognizing the deviation of those who oppose you; |
|
فَٱشْفَعْ لِي عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ |
fashfa` l¢ `inda rabbika |
so, (please) intercede for me before your Lord. |
You may then throw yourself on the tomb, kiss it, put your cheek on it, move yourself towards the place of the head, and say the following words:
|
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حُجّةَ ٱللَّهِ فِي ارْضِهِ وَسَمَائِهِ |
alssal¡mu `alayka y¡ ¦ujjata all¡hi f¢ ar¤ih¢ wa sam¡'ih¢ |
Peace be upon you, O Argument of Allah in His lands and heavens. |
|
صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ رُوحِكَ ٱلطَّيِّبِ وَجَسَدِكَ ٱلطَّاهِرِ |
¥all¡ all¡hu `al¡ r£¦ika al§§ayyibi wa jasadika al§§¡hiri |
May Allah bless your immaculate spirit and your pure body. |
|
وَعَلَيْكَ ٱلسَّلاَمُ يَا مَوْلاَيَ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ |
wa `alayka alssal¡mu y¡ mawl¡ya wa ra¦matu all¡hi wa barak¡tuh£ |
Peace and Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you, O my master. |
You may again throw yourself on the tomb, kiss it, put your cheek on it, move yourself towards the place of the head, and offer the two-unit prayer of ziy¡rah after which you may offer any possible amount of prayer units. You may then turn to the side of the feet and visit `Al¢ ibn al-°usayn, saying:
|
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَوْلاَيَ وَٱبْنَ مَوْلاَيَ |
alssal¡mu `alayka y¡ mawl¡ya wabna mawl¡ya |
Peace be upon you, O my master and son of my master. |
|
وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ |
wa ra¦matu all¡hi wa barak¡tuh£ |
So be upon you Allah’s mercy and blessings. |
|
لَعَنَ ٱللَّهُ مَنْ ظَلَمَكَ |
la`ana all¡hu man ¨alamaka |
May Allah curse those who wronged you. |
|
وَلَعَنَ ٱللَّهُ مَنْ قَتَلَكَ |
wa la`ana all¡hu man qatalaka |
May Allah curse those who slew you. |
|
وَضَاعَفَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلالِيمَ |
wa ¤¡`afa `alayhim al`adh¡ba al-al¢ma |
May Allah double the painful chastisement for them. |
You may then pray Almighty Allah for your personal needs.
Then, you may leave your place at the side of the feet towards the kiblah direction in order to visit the martyrs by saying:
|
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ ايُّهَا ٱلصِّدِّيقُونَ |
alssal¡mu `alaykum ayyuh¡ al¥¥idd¢q£na |
Peace be upon you, O veracious ones. |
|
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ ايُّهَا ٱلشُّهَدَاءُ ٱلصَّابِرُونَ |
alssal¡mu `alaykum ayyuh¡ alshshuhad¡'u al¥¥¡bir£na |
Peace be upon you, O steadfast martyrs. |
|
اشْهَدُ انَّكُمْ جَاهَدْتُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ |
ashhadu annakum j¡hadtum f¢ sab¢li all¡hi |
I bear witness that you strove in the way of Allah, |
|
وَصَبَرْتُمْ عَلَىٰ ٱلاذَىٰ فِي جَنْبِ ٱللَّهِ |
wa ¥abartum `al¡ al-adh¡ f¢ janbi all¡hi |
acted patiently against harm for the sake of Allah, |
|
وَنَصَحْتُمْ لِلَّهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ حَتَّىٰ اتَاكُمُ ٱلْيَقِينُ |
wa na¥a¦tum lill¡hi wa liras£lih¢ ¦att¡ at¡kum alyaq¢nu |
and did sincerely for the sake of Allah and His Messenger until death came upon you. |
|
اشْهَدُ انّكُمْ احْيَاءٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّكُمْ تُرْزَقُونَ |
ashhadu annakum a¦y¡'un `inda rabbikum turzaq£na |
I bear witness that you are alive and are being provided sustenance from your Lord. |
|
فَجَزَاكُمُ ٱللَّهُ عَنِ ٱلإِسْلاَمِ وَاهْلِهِ افْضَلَ جَزَاءِ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ |
fajaz¡kum all¡hu `an al-isl¡mi wa ahlih¢ af¤ala jaz¡'i almu¦sin¢na |
May Allah reward you with the best reward of the good-doers on behalf of Islam and its people |
|
وَجَمَعَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ فِي مَحَلِّ ٱلنَّعِيمِ |
wa jama`a baynan¡ wa baynakum f¢ ma¦alli alnna`¢mi |
and may He join us to you in the abode of bliss. |
You may then walk to the shrine of al-`Abb¡s the son of the Commander of the Faithful. When you stop at the gate of the shrine, you may say the following words:
|
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ امِيرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
alssal¡mu `alayka yabna am¢ri almu'min¢na |
Peace be upon you, O son of the Commander of the Faithful. |
|
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ ايُّهَا ٱلْعَبْدُ ٱلصَّالِحُ |
alssal¡mu `alayka ayyuh¡ al`abdu al¥¥¡li¦u |
Peace be upon you, O righteous servant (of Allah) |
|
ٱلْمُطِيعُ لِلَّهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ |
almu§¢`u lill¡hi wa liras£lih¢ |
and obedient to Allah and to His Messenger. |
|
اشْهَدُ انَّكَ قَدْ جَاهَدْتَ وَنَصَحْتَ |
ashhadu annaka qad j¡hadta wa na¥a¦ta |
I bear witness that you strove (in the way of Allah), acted sincerely, |
|
وَصَبَرْتَ حَتَّىٰ اتَاكَ ٱلْيَقِينُ |
wa ¥abarta ¦att¡ at¡ka alyaq¢nu |
and tolerated (harm) until death came upon you. |
|
لَعَنَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلظَّالِمِينَ لَكُمْ مِنَ ٱلاوَّلِينَ وَٱلآخِرِينَ |
la`ana all¡hu al¨¨¡lim¢na lakum min al-awwal¢na wal-¡khir¢na |
May Allah curse those who wronged you from the past and the present generations |
|
وَالْحَقَهُمْ بِدَرْكِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ |
wa al¦aqahum bidarki alja¦¢mi |
and may He send them to the lowest layer of the blazing Hell. |

Allah, |
|
|
Peace be on you, O the son of the Messenger of Allah!
|
|
Ziyarat of ‘Ali-Akbar Peace be on you, O my master,and the son of my master, Mercy of Allah (he on you),and His blessings. May Allah curse he who oppressed you,and may Allah curse he who killed you, and increase on them the painful punishment.
Ziyarat of the other martyrs. Peace be on you, O the truthful ones. Peace be on you, O the patient martyrs. I bear witness that you,struggled in the way of Allah, and were patient in troubles on the side of Allah, and you exhorted (in the way of), Allah and His Messenger, Until death came to you. I bear witness that you are alive, being sustained by Your Lord. May Allah reward you, on behalf of Islam and its people, the best reward of the doers of good. And (may He) unite us with you,in the place of blessings (Heaven)
Ziyarat of Hadhrat ‘Abbas (a) Peace be on you, O son of Ameerul Mu’mineen. Peace be on you, O the virtuous servant,obedient to Allah and His Messenger. I bear witness that you struggled, and advised (others) and were patient until death came to you. May Allah curse those who oppressed you,from the first ones to the last, and keep them in the bottom of the Fire. |
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا
مَوْلاَيَ وَ ابْنَ مَوْلاَيَ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ
أَيُّهَا الْعَبْدُ الصَّالِحُ الْمُطِيعُ لِلَّهِ وَ لِرَسُولِهِ |
Transliteration BISMILLAHIR RAHMANIR RAHEEM
ASSALAAMU A’LAYKA YABNA RASOOLILLAAH ASSALAAMU A’LAYKA YABNA AMEERIL MOOMINEEN ASSALAAMU A’LAYKA YABNAS’ S’IDDEEQATIT’ T’AAHIRATI FAAT’IMATA SAYYIDATI NISAAA-IL A’ALAMEEN ASSALAAMU A’LAYKA YAA MAWLAAYA YAA ABAA A’BDILLAAH WA RAH’MATULLAAHI WA BARAKAATUH ASHHADU ANNAKA QAD AQAMATAS’ S’ALAATA WA AATAYTAZ ZAKAATA
WA AMARTA BIL MAA’-ROOFI WA NAHAYTA A’NIL MUNKAR WA TALAWATAL KITAABI H’AQQA TILAAWATIHI WA JAAHADTA FILLAAHI H’AQQA JIHAADIHI WA S’ABARTA A’LAL AD’AA FEE JANBIHI MUH’TASIBAN
H’ATTAA ATAAKAL YAQEEN ASHHADU ANNALLAD’EENA KHAALAFOOKA WA H’AARABOOKA WALLAD’EENA KHA’DALOOKA WALLAD’EENA QATALOOKA MAL-O’ONOONA A’LAA LISAANIN NABIYYIL UMMIYY
WA QAD KHAABA MANIF-TARAA LA-A’NALLAAHUZ’ Z’AALIMEENA LAKUM MINAL AWWALEENA WAL AAKHIREEN WA Z”AA-A’FA A’LAYHIMUL A’D’AABAL ALEEM ATAYTUKA YAA MAWLAAYA YABNA RASOOLILLAAH ZAA-IRAN A’ARIFAN BIH’AQQIKA MUWAALIYAN
