اللّهُمَّ هذَا شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ

all¡humma h¡dh¡ shahru rama¤¡na

O Allah: this is the month of Rama¤¡n

الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ فِيهِ القُرْآنَ

alladhy anzalta f¢hi alqur’¡na

in which You revealed the Qur'¡n,

هُدَىً لِلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ الهُدَى وَالفُرْقَانِ،

hudan lilnn¡si wa bayyin¡tin mina alhud¡ wal-furq¡ni

a guidance for humankind and clear proofs of true guidance and distinction (between the right and the wrong)

وَهذَا شَهْرُ الصِّيَامِ،

wa h¡dh¡ shahru al¥¥iy¡mi

This is the month of observing fasting,

وَهذَا شَهْرُ القِيَامِ،

wa h¡dh¡ shahru alqiy¡mi

this is the month of acts of worship,

وَهذَا شَهْرُ الإنَابَةِ،

wa h¡dh¡ shahru al-in¡bati

This the month of turning to You (in penitence),

وَهذَا شَهْرُ التَّوْبَةِ،

wa h¡dh¡ shahru alttawbati

This is the month of repentance,

وَهذَا شَهْرُ المَغْفِرَةِ وَالرَّحْمَةِ،

wa h¡dh¡ shahru almaghfirati wal-rra¦mati

This is the month of forgiveness and mercy,

وَهذَا شَهْرُ العِتْقِ مِنَ النَّارِ وَالفَوْزِ بِالجَنَّةِ،

wa h¡dh¡ shahru al`itqi mina alnn¡ri wal-fawzi biljannati

This is the moth of release from Hellfire and winning Paradise,

وَهذَا شَهْرٌ فِيهِ لَيْلَةُ القَدْرِ

wa h¡dh¡ shahrun f¢hi laylatu alqadri

This is the month in which there is the Grand Night

الَّتِي هِيَ خَيْرٌ مِنَ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ.

allaty hiya khayrun mina alfi shahrin

Which is better than one thousand months.

اللّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

all¡humma fa¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

وَأَعِنِّي عَلَى صِيَامِهِ وَقِيَامِهِ،

wa a`inn¢ `al¡ ¥¢¡mihi wa qiy¡mihi

And help me observe fasting and do acts of worship during it,

وَسَلِّمْهُ لِي وَسَلِّمْنِي فِيهِ،

wa sallimhu l¢ wa sallimny f¢hi

And keep it upright for me, and keep me safe during it,

وَأَعِنِّي عَلَيْهِ بِأَ فْضَلِ عَوْنِكَ،

wa a`inn¢ `alayhi bi-a f¤ali `awnika

And help me observe it with the best of Your help

وَوَفِّقْنِي فِيهِ لِطَاعَتِكَ وَطَاعَةِ رَسُولِكَ وَأَوْلِيَائِكَ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ،

wa waffqny f¢hi li§¡`atika wa §¡`ati ras£lika wa awliy¡’ika ¥all¡ all¡hu `alayhim

And make me succeed in doing acts of obedience to You and to Your Prophet and Your intimate servants upon whom be Your blessings,

وَفَرِّغْنِي فِيهِ لِعِبَادَتِكَ وَدُعَائِكَ وَتِلاوَةِ كِتَابِكَ،

wa farrighny f¢hi li`ib¡datika wa du`¡’ika wa til¡wati kit¡bika

And make me devote myself to acts of worship to You, to praying You, and to reciting Your Book,

وَأَعْظِمْ لِي فِيهِ البَرَكَةَ،

wa a`¨im l¢ f¢hi albarakata

And increase its blessings for me

وَأَحْسِنْ لِي فِيهِ العَافِيَةَ،

wa a¦sin l¢ f¢hi al`¡fiyata

And confer upon me with good health during it,

وَأَصِحَّ فِيهِ بَدَنِي،

wa a¥i¦¦a f¢hi badan¢

And make my body healthy during it,

وَأَوْسِعْ فِيهِ رِزْقِي،

wa awsi` f¢hi rizq¢

And expand my sustenance during it,

وَاكْفِنِي فِيهِ مَا أَهَمَّنِي،

wakfiny f¢hi m¡ ahamman¢

And save me from whatever aggrieves me during it,

وَاسْتَجِبْ فِيهِ دُعَائِي،

w¡stajib f¢hi du`¡’y

And respond to my prayers during it,

وَبَلِّغْنِي فِيهِ رَجَائِي.

wa ballighny f¢hi raj¡’y

And make me attain my hope during it.

اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

وَأَذْهِبْ عَنِّي فِيهِ النُّعَاسَ وَالكَسَلَ وَالسَّأْمَةَ

wa adhhib `ann¢ f¢hi alnn`¡sa wal-kasala wal-ssa’mata

And remove from me during it drowsiness, and lethargy, and laziness,

وَالفَتْرَةَ وَالقَسْوَةَ وَالغَفْلَةَ وَالغِرَّةَ،

wal-fatrata wal-qaswata wal-ghaflata wal-ghirrata

And weariness, and hardheartedness, and inattentiveness, and carelessness.

وَجَنِّبْنِي فِيهِ العِلَلَ وَالأَسْقَامَ

wa jannibny f¢hi al-`ilala wal-asq¡ma

And put aside from me during it illnesses and sicknesses

وَالهُمُومَ وَالأَحْزَانَ

wal-hum£ma wal-a¦z¡na

And grievances and sorrows

وَالأَعْرَاضَ وَالأَمْرَاضَ

wal-a`r¡¤a wal-amr¡¤a

And ailments and diseases

وَالخَطَايَا وَالذُّنُوبَ،

a`r¡¤a wal-amr¡¤a wal-kha§¡y¡ wal-dhdhun£ba

And wrongdoings and sins.

وَاصْرِفْ عَنِّي فِيهِ السُّوءَ وَالفَحْشَاءَ

wa¥rif `ann¢ f¢hi alss£‘a wal-fa¦sh¡‘a

And send away from me during it evil and indecency

وَالجَهْدَ وَالبَلاءَ

wal-jahda wal-bal¡‘a

And fatigue and ordeals

وَالتَّعَبَ وَالعَنَاءَ

wal-tta`aba wal-`an¡‘a

And tiredness and suffering.

إنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ.

innaka sam¢`u alddu`¡‘i

Verily, You are the Hearer of prayers.

اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

وَأَعِذْنِي فِيهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ

wa a`idhny f¢hi mina alshshay§¡ni alrraj¢mi

And protect me during it from Satan the cursed

وَهَمْزِهِ وَلَمْزِهِ وَنَفْثِهِ وَنَفْخِهِ

wa hamzihi wa lamzihi wa nafthihi wa nafkhihi

And from his sting and from his slander and from his devilry

وَوَسْوَسَتِهِ وَتَثْبِيطِهِ وَبَطْشِهِ وَكَيْدِهِ

wa waswasatihi wa tathb¢§ihi wa ba§shihi wa kaydihi

And from his evil inspirations and from his frustration and from his obstinacy and from his trickeries

وَمَكْرِهِ وَحَبَائِلِهِ وَخُدَعِهِ وَأَمَانِيِّهِ

wa makrihi wa ¦ab¡’ilihi wa khuda`ihi wa am¡niyyihi

And from his deceptions and from his traps and from his scams and from his false hopes,

وَغُرُورِهِ وَفِتْنَتِهِ وَشَرَكِهِ وَأَحْزَابِهِ

wa ghur£rihi wa fitnatihi wa sharakihi wa a¦z¡bihi

And from his vanities, and from his seductions, and from his ruses, and from his allies,

وَأَتْبَاعِهِ وَأَشْيَاعِهِ وَأَوْلِيَائِهِ وَشُرَكَائِهِ

wa atb¡`ihi wa ash¢¡`ihi wa awl¢¡’ihi wa shurak¡’ihi

And from his followers and from his fans and from his supporters and from his partners,

وَجَمِيعِ مَكَائِدِهِ.

wa jam¢`i mak¡’idihi

And from all his snares.

اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

وَارْزُقْنَا قِيَامَهُ وَصِيَامَهُ

warzuqn¡ qiy¡mahu wa ¥iy¡mahu

And bestow upon us with the observance of fasting and acts of worship

وَبُلُوغَ الأَمَلِ فِيهِ وَفِي قِيَامِهِ

wa bul£gha alamali f¢hi wa f¢ qiy¡mihi

And attainment of our hopes during it and by means of doing acts of worship in it,

وَاسْتِكْمَالَ مَا يُرْضِيكَ عَنِّي

wastikm¡la m¡ yur¤¢ka `ann¢

And accomplishment of that which brings about Your pleasure,

صَبْراً وَاحْتِسَاباً وَإيمَاناً وَيَقِيناً،

¥abran w¡¦tis¡ban wa ‘¢m¡nan wa yaq¢nan

By means of steadfastness and acting for Your sake and faith and certitude,

ثُمَّ تَقَبَّلْ ذلِكَ مِنِّي بِالأَضْعَافِ الكَثِيرَةِ،

thumma taqabbal dhalika minny bila¤`¡fi alkath¢rati

And then admit all that from me with manifold rewards,

وَالأَجْرِ العَظِيمِ،

wal-ajri al`a¨¢mi

And great gifts,

يَا رَبَّ العَالَمِينَ.

y¡ rabba al`¡lam¢na

O the Lord of the worlds.

اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

وَارْزُقْنِي الحَجَّ وَالعُمْرَةَ

warzuqny al¦ajj wal-`umrata

And grant me (the opportunity to undergo) °ajj and `Umrah,

وَالجِدَّ وَالإجْتِهَادَ

wal-jidda wal-¡jtih¡da

And hard work and painstaking

وَالقُوَّةَ وَالنَّشَاطَ

wal-quwwata wal-nnash¡§a

And power and activity

وَالإنَابَةَ وَالتَّوْبَةَ

wal-in¡bata wal-ttawbata

And turning to You and repentance

وَالتَّوْفِيقَ وَالقُرْبَةَ

wal-ttawf¢qa wal-qurbata

And success and seeking Your nearness

وَالخَيْرَ المَقْبُولَ وَالرَّغْبَةَ وَالرَّهْبَةَ

wal-khayra almaqb£la wal-rraghbata wal-rrahbata

And admitted good-doing and desire (for You) and fear (from You)

وَالتَّضَرُّعَ وَالخُشُوعَ

wal-tta¤arru`a wal-khush£`a

And submission (to You) and meekness

وَالرِّقَّةَ وَالنِّيَّةَ الصَّادِقَةَ،

wal-rriqqata wal-nniyyata al¥¥¡diqata

And tenderness and sincere intention,

وَصِدْقَ اللِّسَانِ،

wa ¥idqa allis¡ni

And truthfulness

وَالوَجَلَ مِنْكَ،

wal-wajala minka

And dread from You

وَالرَّجَاءَ لَكَ،

wal-rraj¡‘a laka

And hoping for You

وَالتَّوَكًُّلَ عَلَيْكَ،

wal-ttawakkula `alayka

And reliance upon You

وَالثَِّقَةَ بِكَ،

wal-ththiqata bika

And having trust in You

وَالوَرَعَ عَنْ مَحَارِمِكَ

wal-wara`a `an ma¦¡rimika

And abstention from committing that which You have deemed unlawful

مَعَ صَالِحِ القَوْلِ،

ma`a ¥¡li¦i alqawli

Along with decent speaking,

وَمَقْبُولِ السَّعْيِ،

wa maqb£li alssa`yi

And admitted efforts

وَمَرْفُوعِ العَمَلِ،

wa marf£`i al`amali

And elevated deeds

وَمُسْتَجَابِ الدَّعْوَةِ،

wa mustaj¡bi aldda`wait

And responded prayers.

وَلا تَحُلْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ شَيْءٍ مِنْ ذلِكَ

wa l¡ ta¦ul bayny wa bayna shay‘in min dhalika

And do not let anything to intervene between me and any of these matters,

بِعَرَضٍ وَلا مَرَضٍ

bi`ara¤in wa l¡ mara¤in

Such as an accidental event or disease

وَلا هَمٍّ وَلا غَمٍّ

wa l¡ hammin wa l¡ ghammin

Or grief or unhappiness

وَلا سُقْمٍ وَلا غَفْلَةٍ وَلا نِسْيَانٍ،

wa l¡ suqmin wa l¡ ghaflatin wa l¡ nisy¡nin

Or ailment or advertence or oblivion;

بَلْ بِالتَّعَاهُدِ وَالتَّحَفُّظِ لَكَ وَفِيكَ

bal biltta`¡hudi wal-tta¦affu¨i laka wa f¢ka

Rather (help me do all that) with observance and carefulness to You and for Your sake

وَالرِّعَايَةِ لِحَقِّكَ وَالوَفَاءِ بِعَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ

wal-rri`¡iyati li¦aqqika wal-waf¡‘i bi`ahdika wa wa`dika

And adherence to that which is incumbent upon me toward You and fulfillment of my covenant and promise to You

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.

bira¦matika y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na

(let all that be) out of Your mercy, O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

وَاقْسِمْ لِي فِيهِ أَفْضَلَ مَا تَقْسِمُهُ لِعِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ،

w¡qsim l¢ f¢hi af¤ala m¡ taqsimuhu li`ib¡dika al¥¥¡li¦¢na

And decide for me during this month the best of that which You decide for Your righteous servants,

وَأَعْطِنِي فِيهِ أَفْضَلَ مَا تُعْطِي أَوْلِيَاءَكَ المُقَرَّبِينَ

wa a`§iny f¢hi af¤ala m¡ tu`§y awly¡‘aka almuqarrb¢na

And give me during it the most favorable of that which You give to Your intimate, favorite servants;

مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ وَالمَغْفِرَةِ وَالتَّحَنُّنِ وَالإجَابَةِ

mina alrra¦mati wal-maghfirati wal-tta¦annuni wal-ij¡bati

Such as mercy, forgiveness, kindness, responding (of prayers)

وَالعَفْوِ وَالمَغْفِرَةِ الدَّائِمَةِ وَالعَافِيَةِ وَالمُعَافَاةِ

wal-`af£i wal-maghfirati aldd¡’imati wal-`¡fiyati wal-mu`¡fati

Pardon, perpetual forgiveness, good health, continuous wellbeing,

وَالعِتْقِ مِنَ النَّارِ وَالفَوْزِ بِالجَنَّةِ

wal-`itqi mina alnn¡ri wal-fawzi biljannati

Release from Hellfire, winning Paradise,

وَخَيْرِ الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ.

wa khayri aldduny¡ wal-¡khirati

And the goodness of this worldly life and the Next World.

اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

وَاجْعَلْ دُعَائِي فِيهِ إلَيْكَ وَاصِلاً،

waj`al du`¡iy f¢hi ilayka w¡¥ilan

And cause my prayers during this month to reach You,

وَرَحْمَتَكَ وَخَيْرَكَ إلَيَّ فِيهِ نَازِلاً،

wa ra¦mataka wa khayraka ilayy f¢hi n¡zilan

And cause Your mercy and goodness during it to reach me,

وَعَمَلِي فِيهِ مَقْبُولاً،

wa `amaly f¢hi maqb£lan

And cause my deed to be accepted (by You)

وَسَعْيِي فِيهِ مَشْكُوراً،

wa sa`¢y f¢hi mashk£ran

And cause my efforts during it to be praiseworthy

وَذَنْبِي فِيهِ مَغْفُوراً،

wa dhanby f¢hi maghf£ran

And cause my sins during it to be forgiven

حَتَّى يَكُونَ نَصِيبِي فِيهِ الأَكْثَرُ،

¦att¡ yak£na na¥¢by f¢hi alakthara

So that my share (of Your awards) shall be the most abundant,

وَحَظِّي فِيهِ الأَوْفَرُ.

wa ¦a¨¨y f¢hi alawfara

And my portion to be the most copious.

اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

وَوَفِّقْنِي فِيهِ لِلَيْلَةِ القَدْرِ

waffiqny f¢hi lilaylati alqadri

And guide me to observe the Grand Night adequately,

عَلَى أَفْضَلِ حَالٍ تُحِبُّ أَنْ يَكُونَ عَلَيْهَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَوْلِيَائِكَ وَأَرْضَاهَا لَكَ،

`al¡ af¤ali ¦¡lin tu¦ibb an yak£na `alayh¡ a¦adun min awliy¡’ika wa ar¤¡h¡ laka

Being on the most favorable and most pleased state that You would like to notice from any of Your intimate servants,

ثُمَّ اجْعَلْهَا لِي خَيْراً مِنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ،

thumm aj`alh¡ l¢ khayran min alfi shahrin

And then decide it to be better for me that one thousand months,

وَارْزُقْنِي فِيهَا أَفْضَلَ مَا رَزَقْتَ أَحَداً مِمَّنْ بَلَّغْتَهُ إيَّاهَا وَأَكْرَمْتَهُ بِهَا،

warzuqny f¢h¡ af¤ala m¡ razaqta a¦adan mimmn ballaghtahu iyy¡h¡ wa akramtahu bih¡

And confer upon me during this night the best conferrals that You ever confer upon anyone whom You guide to attain it and whom You honor during it,

وَاجْعَلْنِي فِيهَا مِنْ عُتَقَائِكَ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ،

waj`alny f¢h¡ min `utaq¡’ika min jahannama

And include me in it with those whom You release from Hell,

وَطُلَقَائِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ،

wa §ulaq¡’ika mina alnn¡ri

And whom You manumit from Hellfire

وَسُعَدَاءِ خَلْقِكَ بِمَغْفِرَتِكَ وَرِضْوَانِكَ

wa su`ad¡‘i khalqika bimaghfiratika wa ri¤w¡nika

And with those of Your creatures who are happy due to Your forgiveness and satisfaction (that reach them),

يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.

y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na

O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

وَارْزُقْنَا فِي شَهْرِنَا هذَا الجِدَّ وَالإجْتِهَادَ

warzuqn¡ f¢ shahrin¡ h¡dh¡ aljidda wal-ijtih¡da

And grant us during this month with hard working and painstaking

وَالقُوَّةَ وَالنَّشَاطَ

wal-quwwata wal-nnash¡§a

And power and activeness

وَمَا تُحِبُّ وَتَرْضَى.

wa m¡ tu¦ibbu wa tar¤¡

And whatever You like and please.

اللّهُمَّ رَبَّ الفَجْرِ وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ وَالشَّفْعِ وَالوَتْرِ،

all¡humma rabba alfajri wa lay¡lin `ashrin wal-shshf`i wal-watri

O Allah; the Lord of the Dawn, the Ten Nights, the Even and the Odd;

وَرَبَّ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ وَمَا أَنْزَلْتَ فِيهِ مِنَ القُرْآنِ،

wa rabba shahri rama¤¡na wa m¡ anzalta f¢hi mina alqur’¡ni

And the Lord of the month of Rama¤¡n and the Qur'¡n that You have revealed during it,

وَرَبَّ جَبْرَائِيلَ وَمِيكَائِيلَ وَإسْرَافِيلَ وَعِزْرَائِيلَ

wa rabba jabr¡’¢la wa m¢k¡’¢la wa isr¡f¢la wa `izr¡’¢la

And the Lord of (Archangels) Gabriel, Michael, Isr¡f¢l, and `Izr¡’¢l,

وَجَمِيعِ المَلائِكَةِ المُقَرَّبِينَ،

wa jam¢`i almal¡’ikati almuqarrab¢na

As well as all the Favorite Angels,

وَرَبَّ إبْرَاهِيمَ وَإسْمعِيلَ

wa rabba ibr¡h¢ma wa ism¡`¢la

And the Lord of (Prophets) Abraham and Ishmael 

وَإسْحقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ،

wa is¦¡qa wa ya`q£ba

And Isaac and Jacob,

وَرَبَّ مُوسَى وَعِيسَى

wa rabba m£s¡ wa `¢s¡

And the Lord of Moses and Jesus,

وَجَمِيعِ النَّبِيِّينَ وَالمُرْسَلِينَ،

wa jam¢`i alnnabiyy¢na wal-mursal¢na

As well as all the Prophets and the Messengers,

وَرَبَّ مُحَمَّدٍ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّينَ

wa rabba mu¦ammadin kh¡tami alnnabiyy¢na

And the Lord of Mu¦ammad, the seal of the Prophets,

صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ،

¥alaw¡tuka `alayhi wa `alayhim ajma`¢na

May Your blessings be upon him and upon them all,

وَأَسْأَلُكَ بِحَقِّكَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَبِحَقِّهِمْ عَلَيْكَ

wa as’aluka bi¦aqqika `alayhim wa bi¦aqqihim `alayka

And I beseech You in the name of their duty toward You Your duty toward them,

وَبِحَقِّكَ العَظِيمِ لَمَّا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَعَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ،

wa bi¦aqqika al`a¨¢mi lamm¡ ¥allayta `alayhi wa ¡lihi wa `alayhim ajma`¢na

And in the name of the great duty toward You that You may bless him and his Household and all of them,

وَنَظَرْتَ إلَيَّ نَظْرَةً رَحِيمَةً

wa na¨arta ilayya na¨ratan ra¦¢matan

And that You may take a merciful look at me,

تَرْضَى بِهَا عَنِّي رِضَىً لا سَخَطَ عَلَيَّ بَعْدَهُ أَبَداً،

tar¤¡ bih¡ `ann¢ ri¤an l¡ sakha§a `alayya ba`dahu abadan

Due to which You be pleased to me so perfectly that You never be irate with me after that,

وَأَعْطَيْتَنِي جَمِيعَ سُؤْلِي وَرَغْبَتِي وَأُمْنِيَتِي وَإرَادَتِي،

wa a`§aytany jam¢`a su´l¢ wa raghbaty wa a’umniyaty wa ir¡dat¢

And You may grant me all my requests, desires, hopes, and needs,

وَصَرَفْتَ عَنِّي مَا أَكْرَهُ وَأَحْذَرُ

wa ¥arafta `ann¢ m¡ akrahu wa a¦dharu

And You may ward off me all that which I despise and try to avoid,

وَأَخَافُ عَلَى نَفْسِي وَمَا لا أَخَافُ

wa akh¡fu `al¡ nafsy wa m¡ l¡ akh¡fu

And all that which I fear for myself and all that which I do not fear,

وَعَنْ أَهْلِي وَمَالِي وَإخْوَانِي وَذُرِّيَّتِي.

wa `an ahly wa m¡l¢ wa ikhw¡ny wa dhurriyyat¢

And do the same to my family members, my property, my brethren and my offspring.

اللّهُمّ إلَيْكَ فَرَرْنَا مِنْ ذُنُوبِنَا فَآوِنَا تَائِبِينَ،

all¡humma ilayka fararn¡ min dhun£bin¡ fa¡£in¡ t¡’ib¢na

O Allah: to You are we running from our sins; so (please do) shelter us as we are repentant,

وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَا مُسْتَغْفِرِينَ،

wa tub `alayn¡ mustaghfir¢na

And accept our repentance as we are seeking Your forgiveness,

وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا مُتَعَوّذِينَ،

waghfir lan¡ muta`awwidh¢na

And forgive us as we are seeking Your protection,

وَأَعِذْنَا مُسْتَجِيرِينَ،

wa a`idhn¡ mustaj¢r¢na

And protect us as we are seeking Your aid,

وَأَجِرْنَا مُسْتَسْلِمِينَ،

wa ajirn¡ mustaslim¢na

And aid us as we are surrendering to You,

وَلا تَخْذُلْنَا رَاهِبِينَ،

wa l¡ takhdhuln¡ r¡hib¢na

And never disappoint us as we are fearful of You,

وَآمِنَّا رَاغِبِينَ،

wa ¡minn¡ r¡ghib¢na

And secure us as we are desiring for You,

وَشَفّعْنَا سَائِلِينَ،

wa shaffi`n¡ s¡’il¢na

And accept our intercession as we are begging You,

وَأَعْطِنَا إنّكَ سَمِيعُ الدّعَاءِ قرِيبٌ مُجِيبٌ.

wa a`§in¡ innaka sam¢`u alddu`¡‘i qr¢bun muj¢bun

And grant us (what we hope) as You are verily the Hearer of prayers, the Nigh, and the Responding.

اللّهُمّ أَنْتَ رَبّي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ

all¡humma anta rabby wa an¡ `abduka

O Allah: You are my Lord and I am Your servant,

وَأَحَقّ مَنْ سَأَلَ العَبْدُ رَبّهُ

wa a¦aqqu man sa-ala al`abdu rabbahu

And it is conventional that a servant begs from his Lord,

وَلَمْ يَسْأَلِ العِبَادُ مِثْلَكَ كَرَماً وَجُوداً،

wa lam yas’ali al`ib¡du mithlaka karaman wa j£dan

And all Your servants have never begged anyone who is as generous and magnanimous as You are.

يَا مَوْضِعَ شَكْوَى السَّائِلِينَ،

y¡ maw¤i`a shak£ alss¡’il¢na

O the center of the complaints of the beseechers;

وَيَا مُنْتَهَى حَاجَةِ الرَّاغِبِينَ،

wa y¡ muntah¡ ¦¡jati alrr¡ghib¢na

O the ultimate goal of the needs of the desirers,

وَيَا غِيَاثَ المُسْتَغِيثِينَ،

wa y¡ ghiy¡tha almustagh¢th¢na

O the Aide of the seekers of aid,

وَيَا مُجِيبَ دَعْوَةِ المُضْطَرّينَ،

wa y¡ muj¢ba da`wati almu¤§arr¢na

O the Responding to the prayers of the distressed ones,

وَيَا مَلْجَأَ الهَارِبِينَ،

wa y¡ malja’a alh¡rib¢na

O the Shelter of the fugitives,

وَيَا صَرِيخَ المُسْتَصْرِخِينَ،

wa y¡ ¥ar¢kha almusta¥rikh¢na

O the Helper of the seekers of help,

وَيَا رَبّ المُسْتَضْعَفِينَ،

wa y¡ rabba almusta¤`af¢na

O the Lord of the enfeebled ones,

وَيَا كَاشِفَ كَرْبِ المَكْرُوبِينَ،

wa y¡ k¡shifa karbi almakr£b¢na

O the Reliever of the grievances of the aggrieved ones,

وَيَا فَارِجَ هَمّ المَهْمُومِينَ،

wa y¡ f¡rija hammi almahm£m¢na

O the Releaser of the agonies of the sad ones,

وَيَا كَاشِفَ الكَرْبِ العَظِيمِ،

wa y¡ k¡shifa alkarbi al`a¨¢mi

O the Reliever of the enormous calamities;

يَا اللّهُ يَا رَحْمنُ يَا رَحِيمُ

y¡ all¡hu y¡ ra¦mnu y¡ ra¦¢mu

O Allah; O the All-beneficent; O the All-merciful;

يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na

O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy:

صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ

¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

(please) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

وَاغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي وَعُيُوبِي

waghfir l¢ dhun£by wa `uy£by

And forgive my sins and my defects,

وَإسَاءَتِي وَظُلْمِي وَجُرْمِي

wa is¡‘aty wa ¨ulmy wa jurmy

And my offenses and my wrongdoing and my felonies

وَإسْرَافِي عَلَى نَفْسِي،

wa isr¡f¢ `al¡ nafs¢

And my extravagance in my affairs,

وَارْزُقْنِي مِنْ فَضْلِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ

warzuqny min fa¤lika wa ra¦matika

And (please) grant me out of Your favors and mercy,

فَإنّهُ لا يَمْلِكُهَا غَيْرُكَ،

fa’innhu l¡ yamlikuh¡ ghayruka

For none possess these save You,

وَاعْفُ عَنّي،

w¡`fu `ann¢

And (please) pardon me

وَاغْفِرْ لِي كُلّ مَا سَلَفَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِي،

waghfir l¢ kull m¡ salafa min dhun£b¢

And forgive all my past sins

وَاعْصِمْنِي فِيمَا بَقِيَ مِنْ عُمْرِي،

w¡`¥imny f¢m¡ baqiya min `umr¢

And save me from sinning in the rest of my lifetime,

وَاسْتُرْ عَلَيّ وَعَلَى وَالِدَيّ

w¡stur `alayya wa `al¡ w¡lidayya

And cover me as well as my parents,

وَوَلَدِي وَقَرَابَتِي وَأَهْلِ حُزَانَتِي

wa walady wa qar¡baty wa ahli ¦uz¡naty

And my children and my relatives and my friends,

وَمَنْ كَانَ مِنّي بِسَبِيلٍ مِنَ المُؤْمِنِينَ وَالمُؤْمِنَاتِ فِي الدّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ،

wa man k¡na minny bisab¢lin mina almu´min¢na wal-mu´min¡ti f¢ aldduny¡ wal-¡khirati

And all those who relate to me from the believing men and women in this worldly life and the life to come,

فَإنّ ذلِكَ كُلّهُ بِيَدِكَ

fa’inna dhalika kullhu biyadika

For all that is managed by You alone

وَأَنْتَ وَاسِعُ المَغْفِرَةِ

wa anta w¡si`u almaghfirati

And You are verily the Liberal in forgiving,

فَلا تُخَيّبْنِي يَا سَيّدِي،

fal¡ tukhayybny y¡ sayyid¢

So, please my Master: do not disappoint me,

وَلا تَرُدّ دُعَائِي وَلا يَدِي إلَى نَحْرِي

wa l¡ tarudda du`¡iy wa l¡ yady il¡ na¦ry

And do not reject my prayer and do not let me down,

حَتَّى تَفْعَلَ ذلِكَ بِي وَتَسْتَجِيبَ لِي جَمِيعَ مَا سَأَلْتُكَ

¦att¡ taf`ala dhalika by wa tastaj¢ba l¢ jam¢`a m¡ sa’altuka

But please do all that to me and respond to my in all that which I have asked from You,

وَتَزِيدَنِي مِنْ فَضْلِكَ،

wa taz¢dany min fa¤lika

And increase Your favoring upon me,

فَإنّكَ عَلَى كُلّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ،

fa’innaka `al¡ kulli shay‘in qad¢run

Because You verily have power over all things,

وَنَحْنُ إلَيْكَ رَاغِبُونَ.

wa na¦nu ilayka r¡ghib£na

And for You do we desire.

اللّهُمّ لَكَ الأَسْمَاءُ الحُسْنَى،

all¡humma laka alasm¡‘u al¦usn¡

O Allah: Yours are the Most Excellent Names

وَالأَمْثَالُ العُلْيَا،

wal-amth¡lu al`uly¡

And the Most Elevated Examples,

وَالكِبْرِيَاءُ وَالآلاءُ،

wal-kibriy¡‘u wal-¡l¡‘u

And every greatness and all bounties.

أَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ:

as’aluka bismika:

I thus beseech You by Your Name:

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرّحْمنِ الرّحِيمِ

bismi all¡hi alrra¦m¡n alrra¦¢mi

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful;

إنْ كُنْتَ قَضَيْتَ فِي هذِهِ اللّيْلَةِ

in kunta qa¤ayta f¢ hadhihi allaylati

If you have decided at this night,

تَنَزّلَ المَلائِكَةِ وَالرّوحِ فِيهَا

tanazzala almal¡’ikati wal-rr£¦i f¢h¡

During which the angels and the Holy Spirit are allowed to descend,

أَنْ تُصَلّيَ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ،

an tu¥alliya `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

That You may bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

وَأَنْ تَجْعَلَ اسْمِي فِي السّعَدَاءِ،

wa an taj`ala ismy f¢ alss`ad¡‘i

And You may add my name to the (list of the) happy ones,

وَرُوحِي مَعَ الشّهَدَاءِ،

wa r£¦y ma`a alshshuhad¡‘i

And add my soul to the martyrs,

وَإحْسَانِي فِي عِلّيّينَ،

wa i¦s¡ny f¢ `illiyy¢na

And elevate my good doings exaltedly

وَإسَاءَتِي مَغْفُورَةً،

wa is¡‘aty maghf£ratan

And decide my ill deeds to be forgiven,

وَأَنْ تَهَبَ لِي يَقِيناً تُبَاشِرُ بِهِ قَلْبِي،

wa an tahaba l¢ yaq¢nan tub¡shiru bihi qalb¢

And that You grant me conviction with which You fill in my heart,

وَإيمَاناً لا يَشُوبُهُ شَكّ،

wa ‘¢m¡nan l¡ yash£buhu shakkun

And grant me faith free of doubt,

وَرِضَىً بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لِي،

wa ri¤an bim¡ qasamta l¢

And grant me satisfaction with that which You decide for me,

وَآتِنِي فِي الدّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً

wa ¡tiny f¢ aldduny¡ ¦asanatan wa f¢ al¡khirati ¦asanatan

And grant me good in this worldly life and good in the Next World

وَقِنِي عَذَابَ النَّارِ،

wa qiny `adh¡ba alnn¡ri

And save me from the Fire of Hell.

وَإنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ قَضَيْتَ فِي هذِهِ اللّيْلَةِ

wa in lam takun qa¤ayta f¢ hadhihi allaylati

And if You have not decided at this night,

تَنَزّلَ المَلائِكَةِ وَالرّوْحِ فِيهَا

tanazzala almal¡’ikati wal-rr£¦i f¢h¡

During which the angels and the Holy Spirit are allowed to descend,

فَأَخّرْنِي إلَى ذلِكَ،

fa-akhkhrny il¡ dhalika

Then (please) postpone Your decisions about me to that night,

وَارْزُقْنِي فِيهَا ذِكْرَكَ وَشُكْرَكَ

warzuqny f¢h¡ dhikraka wa shukraka

And confer upon me during it with reference to You and showing gratitude to You,

وَطَاعَتَكَ وَحُسْنَ عِبَادَتِكَ،

wa §¡`ataka wa ¦usna `ib¡datika

And doing acts of obedience to You and worshipping You in the best manner;

وَصَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ

wa ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

And (please) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

بِأَفْضَلِ صَلَوَاتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ،

bi-af¤ali ¥alaw¡tika y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na

With Your most favorable blessings, O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

يَا أَحَدُ يَا صَمَدُ

y¡ a¦adu y¡ ¥amadu

O the Unique, O the Besought of all;

يَا رَبّ مُحَمّدٍ

y¡ rabba mu¦ammadin

O the Lord of Mu¦ammad

اغْضَبِ اليَوْمَ لِمُحَمّدٍ وَلأَبْرَارِ عِتْرَتِهِ،

igh¤abi aliyawma limu¦ammadin wa liabr¡ri `itratihi

(please) revenge on this day for Mu¦ammad and for the pious ones from his offspring,

وَاقْتُلْ أَعْدَاءَهُمْ بَدَداً،

w¡qtul a`d¡‘ahum badadan

And eradicate all of their enemies,

وَأَحْصِهِمْ عَدَداً،

wa a¦¥ihim `adadan

And put them all under Your reprimand

وَلا تَدَعْ عَلَى ظَهْرِ الأَرْضِ مِنْهُمْ أَحَداً،

wa l¡ tada` `al¡ ¨ahri alar¤i minhum a¦adan

And do not leave anyone of them to live on this earth,

وَلا تَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ أَبَداً،

wa l¡ taghfir lahum abadan

And never forgive them.

يَا حَسَنَ الصّحْبَةِ،

y¡ ¦asana al¥¥u¦bati

O the most excellent Companion;

يَا خَلِيفَةَ النّبِيّينَ

y¡ khal¢fata alnnabiyy¢na

O the Heir of the Prophets

أَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ،

anta ar¦amu alrr¡¦im¢na

You are verily the most Merciful of all those who show mercy,

البَدِيءُ البَدِيعُ

albad¢‘ albad¢`u

The Commencer, the brilliant Maker,

الّذِي لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِكَ شَيْءٌ،

alladhy laysa kamithlika shay‘un

There is none like You

وَالدَّائِمُ غَيْرُ الغَافِلِ،

wal-dd¡’imu ghayru algh¡fili

And You are the Eternal Who never omits anything,

وَالحَيّ الّذِي لا يَمُوتُ،

wal-¦ayyu alladhy l¡ yam£tu

And You are the Ever-living Who never dies,

أَنْتَ كُلّ يَوْمٍ فِي شَأْنٍ،

anta kulla yawmin f¢ sha’nin

On each day, You have a certain state;

أَنْتَ خَلِيفَةُ مُحَمّدٍ،

anta khal¢fatu mu¦ammadin

You are the Heir of Mu¦ammad,

وَنَاصِرُ مُحمّدٍ،

wa n¡¥iru mu¦mmdin

And the Supporter of Mu¦ammad,

وَمُفَضّلُ مُحَمّدٍ،

wa mufa¤¤ilu mu¦ammadin

And the Selector of Mu¦ammad

أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَنْصُرَ وَصِيّ مُحَمّدٍ وَخَلِيفَةَ مُحَمّدٍ

as’aluka an tan¥ura wa ¥iyy mu¦ammadin wa khal¢fata mu¦ammadin

I beseech You to give victory to the successor and representative of Mu¦ammad,

وَالقَائِمَ بِالقِسْطِ مِنْ أَوْصِيَاءِ مُحَمّدٍ

wal-q¡’ima bilqis§i min aw¥y¡‘i mu¦ammadin

The Imam who shall appear with justice among the successors of Mu¦ammad,

صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمْ،

¥alaw¡tuka `alayhi wa `alayhim

May Your blessings be upon him and upon them,

اعْطِفْ عَلَيْهِمْ نَصْرَكَ،

i`§if `alayhim na¥raka

(please) turn Your victory toward them,

يَا لا إلهَ إلاَّ أَنْتَ

y¡ l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta

O He but Whom there is no god

بِحَقّ لا إلهَ إلاَّ أَنْتَ

bi¦aqqi l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta

I beseech You in the name of that there is no god but You,

صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ

¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

(please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

وَاجْعَلْنِي مَعَهُمْ فِي الدّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ،

waj`alny ma`ahum f¢ aldduny¡ wal-¡khirati

And allow me to join them in this worldly life as well as the Next World

وَاجْعَلْ عَاقِبَةَ أَمْرِي إلَى غُفْرَانِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ

waj`al `¡qibata amry il¡ ghufr¡nika wa ra¦matika

And allow all my affairs to end up with Your forgiveness and mercy,

يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ،

y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na

O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

وَكَذلِكَ نَسَبْتَ نَفْسَكَ يَا سَيّدِي بِاللّطْفِ،

wa kadhalika nasabta nafsaka y¡sayyidy billu§fi

O my Master: You have ascribed the feature of kindness to Yourself,

بَلَى إنّكَ لَطِيفٌ

bal¡ innaka la§¢fun

And You are truly kind,

فَصَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ

fa¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

So, (please) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

وَالطُفْ بِي لِمَا تَشَاءُ.

wal-§uf by lim¡ tash¡‘u

And treat me kindly as You like,

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

وَارْزُقْنِي الحَجّ وَالعُمْرَةَ فِي عَامِنَا هذَا،

warzuqny al¦ajj wal-`umrata f¢ `¡min¡ h¡dh¡

And grant me (the opportunity to undertake) °ajj and `Umrah in this year,

وَتَطَوّلْ عَلَيّ بِجَمِيعِ حَوَائِجِي لِلآخِرَةِ وَالدّنْيَا.

wa ta§awwal `alayya bijam¢`i ¦aw¡’ijy lil¡khirati wal-dduny¡

And confer upon me with the favor of settling all my needs for the Next World and this worldly life

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّهَ رَبّي وَ أَتُوبُ إلَيْهِ

astaghfiru all¡ha rabby wa at£bu ilayhi

I seek the forgiveness of Allah, my Lord, and I repent before Him,

إنّ رَبّي قَرِيبٌ مُجِيبٌ،

inna rabby qar¢bun muj¢bun

Surely, my Lord is Nigh and Responding.

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّهَ رَبّي وَأَتُوبُ إلَيْهِ

astaghfiru all¡ha rabby wa at£bu ilayhi

I seek the forgiveness of Allah, my Lord, and I repent before Him,

إنّ رَبّي رَحِيمٌ وَدُودٌ،

inna rabby ra¦¢mun wad£dun

Surely, my Lord is Merciful, Loving.

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّهَ رَبّي وَأَتُوبُ إلَيْهِ

astaghfiru all¡ha rabby wa at£bu ilayhi

I seek the forgiveness of Allah, my Lord, and I repent before Him,

إنّهُ كَانَ غَفَّاراً.

innahu k¡na ghaff¡ran

He is surely All-forgiving.

اللّهُمّ اغْفِرْ لِي

all¡humma aghfir l¢

O Allah: (please do) forgive me,

إنّكَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ،

innaka ar¦amu alrr¡¦im¢na

You are verily the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

رَبّ إنّي عَمِلْتُ سُوءاً وَظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي

rabbi inn¢ `amiltu s£‘an wa ¨alamtu nafsy

O my Lord: I have committed ill deeds and wronged myself,

فَاغْفِرْ لِي إنّهُ لا يَغْفِرُ الذّنُوبَ إلاَّ أَنْتَ،

faghfir l¢ innahu l¡ yaghfiru aldhdhun£ba ill¡ anta

So (please) forgive me, because none can forgive sins save You.

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّهَ الّذِي لا إلهَ إلاَّ هُوَ

astaghfiru all¡ha alladhy l¡ il¡ha ill¡ huwa

I seek the forgiveness of Allah save Whom there is no god,

الحَيّ القَيّومُ الحَلِيمُ العَظِيمُ

al¦ayyu alqayy£mu al¦al¢mu al`a¨¢mu

The Ever-living, the Self-Subsistent, the Indulgent, the All-great,

الكَرِيمُ الغَفَّارُ لِلذّنْبِ العَظِيمِ

alkar¢mu alghaff¡ru lildhdhnbi al`a¨¢mi

The Noble, the forgiver of fatal sins,

وَأَتُوبُ إلَيْهِ،

wa at£bu ilayhi

And I repent before Him.

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّهَ

astaghfiru all¡ha

I seek the forgiveness of Allah,

إنّ اللّهَ كَانَ غَفُوراً رَحِيماً.

inna all¡ha k¡na ghaf£ran ra¦¢man

Allah is verily Forgiver, Merciful.

اللّهُمّ إنّي أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُصَلّيَ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka an tu¥alliya `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: I beseech You to send blessings upon Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

وَأَنْ تَجْعَلَ فِيمَا تَقْضِي وَتُقَدّرُ

wa an taj`ala f¢m¡ taq¤y wa tuqaddiru

And to decide within the decisions that You make,

مِنَ الأَمْرِ العَظِيمِ المَحْتُومِ فِي لَيْلَةِ القَدْرِ

mina alamri al`a¨¢mi alma¦t£mi f¢ laylati alqadri

From the great, inevitable affair at the Grand Night,

مِنَ القَضَاءِ الّذِي لا يُرَدّ وَلا يُبَدّلُ

mina alqa¤¡‘i alladhy l¡ yuraddu wa l¡ yubaddalu

Within the decision that is neither rejected nor altered,

أَنْ تَكْتُبَنِي مِنْ حُجَّاجِ بَيْتِكَ الحَرَامِ

an taktubany min ¦ujj¡ji baytika al¦ar¡mi

That You write my name with the pilgrims of Your Holy House,

المَبْرُورِ حَجّهُمُ،

almabr£ri ¦ajjuhumu

Whose °ajj is admitted,

المَشْكُورِ سَعْيُهُمُ،

almashk£ri sa`yuhumu

Whose efforts are praiseworthy,

المَغْفُورِ ذُنُوبُهُمُ،

almaghf£ri dhun£buhumu

Whose sins are forgiven,

المُكَفّرِ عَنْهُمْ سَيّئَاتُهُمْ،

almukaffri `anhum sayyi’¡tuhum

And whose offenses are pardoned.

وَأَنْ تَجْعَلَ فِيمَا تَقْضِي وَتُقَدّرُ أَنْ تُطِيلَ عُمْرِي،

wa an taj`ala f¢m¡ taq¤y wa tuqaddru an tu§¢la `umr¢

And that You may decide among the decisions that You make that You grant me long lifetime,

وَتُوَسّعَ رِزْقِي،

wa tuwassi`a rizq¢

And expand my sustenance,

وَتُؤَدّيَ عَنّي أَمَانَتِي وَدَيْنِي،

wa tu´addiya `ann¢ am¡naty wa dayn¢

And help me fulfill my trusts and settle my debts,

آمِينَ رَبّ العَالَمِينَ.

¡m¢na rabba al`¡lam¢na

Respond to me; O the Lord of the worlds.

اللّهُمّ اجْعَلْ لِي مِنْ أَمْرِيَ فَرَجاً وَمَخْرَجاً،

all¡humma aj`al l¢ min amriya farajan wa makhrajan

O Allah: (please do) make for me relief and an outlet,

وَارْزُقْنِي مِنْ حَيْثُ أَحْتَسِبُ وَمِنْ حَيْثُ لا أَحْتَسِبُ،

warzuqny min ¦aythu a¦tasibu wa min ¦aythu l¡ a¦tasibu

And provide for me from whence I expect and from whence I do not expect,

وَاحْرُسْنِي مِنْ حَيْثُ أَحْتَرِسُ وَمِنْ حَيْثُ لا أَحْتَرِسُ،

w¡¦rusny min ¦aythu a¦tarisu wa min ¦aythu l¡ a¦tarisu

And guard me from when I take precautions and from whence I do not take precautions,

وَصَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ وَسَلّمْ كَثِيراً.

wa ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin wa sallm kath¢ran

And send plentiful blessings and benedictions upon Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad.
